@@RaphaelJamesF because Bloom it has older Minecraft.. nvidia has forced enabled by default so better turn off by manual in control panel or any it survived lol .. who has iGPU intel or amd older doesn’t work bloom only 2011 or 2012 up to later May works lol
i suggest running this on windows xp in a vm and also to install the direct3D stuff you need to go into safe mode first by spamming escape button and than load into safe mode and than you can install the guest drivers for direct3D to work this is how i found out the hard way and multiMC works directly on windows xp with no kernalEX stuff required
I've been a searching for a method if Minecraft could run on windows 2000 or 98 and I've found it, thanks dude for uploading this video and for a tutorial on how to do it! lol :)
you can fix the mouse sensitivity by removing mouse integration, whilst this removes the ability to move your mouse out of the screen without ctrl, it does allow you to play with a okay mouse
this is so cool!!!! you could do one of these with not so secret saturday since it can run on windows 98!!!! or maybe do something similar with windows xp!! I can help with VM stuff since I LOVE everything old windows related!!!
The Main reason I don't like VBox is this:You have to Mod the OS file to get proper 3D Acceleration support. I perfer using VMware to do this,it have much better performance and efficiency on 3D acceleration and only needs a driver install(install VMWare Tools needs SP4 with update rollup if you want to.Make sure roll back the mouse driver or the camera rolling would be weird) But VMWare don't have a legacy 2D card emulation for OSes being too old that would be a disadvantage on third-party driver supports.
This is cool, I might do this with XP but make it low quality using unregistered hypercam. I personally use VMware Workstaton Pro, I used to use VMWare Workstation Player but they made Pro free for personal use, it has the same features as Virtual Box but I believe it’s faster and more professional. Also VMware has VMware tools which you can pick for a limited install or a full install, so if you want more features you can pick full or you want just functional graphics. VMs also have quirky sensitivity that you can’t fix so it will just kind of jitter everywhere.
You don't need to do most of this. Minecraft runs just fine with Java 6, which doesn't need the extended kernel, and Kmeleon (a modern, regularly updated browser) works fine on windows 2000.
I mean, if you were able to install a new enough version of chrome, you could have ran eaglercraft which is in-browser minecraft client that doesn't use java. You can take it a step further by running eaglercraft inside of linux terminal in combination with carbonyl (chrome that runs inside a terminal).
Try running it on actual hardware from the year 2000 instead of a Virtual Machine. I tried running Minecraft on XP in VirtualBox, but it was also like a slideshow. I think its because the only purpose of the GPU is to display themes, and not for gaming. I used to play Minecraft on a trashpicked Windows XP machine, and it seemed to work just fine; getting an average framerate of around 40 to 70 fps on the lowest settings.
Yep. You are right. It is a virtual gpu which runs on the cpu iirc as gpu passthrough is not supported. If they had 2 gpus and on linux. They could pass 1 dedicated through libvirt
If in virtual machine you trying to play something like quake 1 and you cant really control mouse movement and spinning you need to change mouse mode on bottom right thingie
When you first ran minecraft you set the perfromance to power saver, you should've set it as max FPS. Tho I doubt it would improve anything but I thought I just wanted to point it out.
@@ana_s ironically i didnt say anything about new hardware. and meant a actual time period correct machine. there is also fixes to get around "too much memory" aswell on old os
I can tell that you downloaded a modified version of the Windows 2000 installer. I would recommend not going down this route as you could potentially get malware pre-installed like in modern windows so I would recommend not do that.
I had a pentium g620 and 2gbs of ddr3, i learned if you replace windows with linux mint and played minetest you get a way better experience snd good sense of community in servers, also do not use opera its owned by china
If you don't already, i would recommend using Sodium (a mod)! it gives a HUGE performance increase (or as an alternative, optifine for older versions of minecraft where sodium isnt supported)
i had a terrible pc and i learned that if you decrease the size of the minecraft window the game runs a lot better
Yeah it runs better because changing the window is like changing the resolution
Especially with raytracing cuz 1 pixel=1 ray
yea....
In BTA you can also just change the render scale in the video settings.
Having a bad PC strengthens your computer knowledge a lot because you have to find ways to optimize games in the best ways possible (coming from personal experiences)
BTA is extremely laggy until you disable Bloom. It's a must.
wow nice btw 170 likes on comment without reply 💀💀

crazy how laggy it is honestly

You can only get 3D acceleration on Windows 7 or lower if you're using an older VirtualBox version, they removed that a while ago
@nekothefisherYes, maybe if the host OS is GNU/Linux it may have 3d acceleration support, but I think only with open source drivers(AMD, Intel)

Wtf I used to have that exact pfp before this is scary
I tried using MultiMC on XP with VMware but it won’t allow me to connect a Microsoft account

Cool Video! You can create savestates of VMs within virtualbox, so if you mess up you can revert to an earlier state
Finally someone playing Minecraft on old pc with no changes of mc

Can we install different drivers in each OS emulated?
Funny and actual educational, you taught me a lot in this video 10/10

close enough, welcome back Druaga1
Bruh power saver is the worst performing one...
To install VBox OpenGL drivers you need to reboot windows into safe mode.

very cool
also try right clicking on a boat with a flag in BTA-
Beat Minecraft at windows 2000!!!! DO IT!!!!
Cool video! I never saw somebody literally play Minecraft on a Windows 2000 virtual machine lol
Clicked for Minecraft on Win2000, stayed for your chaotic energy.
seeing old opera again made me tear up
Minecraft will run better if you allocate more resources to the virtual machine .
Nice video dude
Vbox 6.1.x doesn't support direct3d
Use older version or vmware
Or kvm, vmvare and vbox are really slow in comparison

New Moon (browser by roytam1)also runs on 2000, but it's kinda sluggish and crashes the VM when you set it as default browser
@@heart_locket2 Really? I thought it needed the extended kernel.

the os isnt indicative of the game speed. you can run win 2000 on a actual machine and itll probably most likely run better
Ironically, old windows on new hardware suffers a problem called “too much memory”

24k views in a day, this may turn out to be one of the biggest BTA videos lol
i read it as Better than Future
I wonder how well it works on XP or Vista
If you guys are hardo minecraft players I suggest you switching to Linux. This game runs here natively and runs much better than on Windows.

How many FPS did you get?
You could use supermium on windows 2000 if i'm correct, it's a modern browser made for old stuff like windows 2000/xp
i'm pretty sure it doesn't support 2000 yet, but it is planned
Reminds me of ReactOS which is based on some Frankenstein windows code.
Virtual box drivers dont work on old windows operations system :( so you need to download them manually
I think you need an older version of virtualbox too
Something like 6.0 ans older if i recall correctly
в интересное время живем, в котором выпускают моды на маинкрафт бету 1.7.3 и пытаются запустить это на win2k, xD
Try running it on NT 4.0, it is basically Windows 95 but on the NT Kernel.
The mouse is like that because you are using a vm
using imgburn or some other tool that can create a iso file out of files is good and prolly more secure due to not sharing clipboard and dragndrop

link to extended kernel?

Try Vmware workstation next time, is LIGHT YEARS better in performance
Is there a mod for just the render scale?

mypal or k-meleon might work better than opera since they're being actively developed for windows xp which is pretty close to 2000
mypal 29 and 68 needs extended kernel
is this an experiment or a tutorial
i have trid-ed it on windows 3 but its impossble

Could you link the fixed opengl DLL file? Or upload it? Thanks.
how does windows 2000 run faster than my own laptop bro
It's a VM, and windows 2000, which can run on a toaster
What? MultiMC on Windows 2000?
now try running it on raspberry pi, believe me it will be "fun".

Um is this windows xp? Idk i still have a windows 64 computer in my closet
