I bought mine for my HHV helmet when they first came out. Although I haven't been shot in the head so I can't attest to how that feels I can say that they are super comfortable to wear. They conform to your head perfectly unlike foam pads that you have to play with to get them just right.
Yes indeed. I bought the 1" microlattice first, but it was a bit too tight of a fit. Went with the 3/4" microlattice, and it fits perfectly. When worn in conjunction with the headband HHV provided it's very comfortable on my bald head. The conformal nature of it allows you to rock a standard H-nape, or X-nape without having to upgrade your retention system.
I absolutely LOVE my set inside of my HHV bump helmet. If anyone is interested in upgrading your helmet, you should definitely check these out! One thing that I wish I had known was that these are a bit thicker than most standard pads that I have used. That has made my Team Wendy chin strap a bit tight especially if wearing a balaclava. Just something to keep in mind. Keep up the great innovation HHV!
I just ordered my PVS 14 and I've been helmet shopping. Couple things... I tried to purchase your $533.50 balistic helmet but when I put it in the cart it jumps to $543.50 - an extra ten bucks? Okay looks like a glitch on your website. Second question - can I get my helmet with this microlattice instead of paying for the old pads only to replace them?
You're seeing the taxes get added on with that extra ten bucks. We're currently only selling the Microlattice pads separately as an upgrade. They'll be included with the ATE_Lite we're launching later this year.
Go with the large and get the 1" pads. Worst case scenario it doesn't fit right and we do the exchange process. Our exchange process is hassle free, so no worries there.
@@mightymovse They feel great, the only issue we've run into for the kings who have decided they look better after a clean shave is that the pads tend to leave an impression. We provide a comfortable headband as an alternative to "hex head."
These look awesome, when they drop in price ill get some but damn 194$??! Little much. Whats the weight difference in your helmets with them? They look featherweight
They have a 66% reduction in backface deformation with these pads in, and also a 27.1% reduction in blunt impact accelerations. On top of that, they keep the helmet 14 degrees cooler on average.
I would not run them inside a FF helmet due to the construction of it being a plastics...the melting point would be too low for a flashover or high heat event, potentially causing severe damage or injury even through a nomex hood.
We're working on the 3/4" pads. We've already run them through NTS, just waiting on them to come in now. We ran into a small hangup in the American production. We're still shooting for Q2 this year on the ATE_Lite product line.
That's not correct, the ballistic material IE the shell itself is only one part of the equation when it comes to BTD/BFD. Check out our blog as we have a few articles breaking down various studies on this topic.
@@HardHeadVeterans thanks for the quick reply. Be advised that if you ever pursue any DoD contracts DEET resistance is part of the testing process. Just fyi since you good folks are about to start releasing Berry Act compliant hardware 😉.
Any chance of developing maybe an attachment dual fan system? Like a flush mount fan in the front pointed up blowing while another is positioned by the base of the skull sucking the air out the back creating a constant cool flow up over the top of the wearer's head? If you implement this idea I'd gladly accept a sweet discount fellas!
Ohhh you got me with “ Fahrenheit not Moose “ 😂😂🤦🏽🇺🇸✊🏽 . Seriously though it’s cool shit but , why not send them to the NFL and let them test em out ???
Great question. We're hoping to launch that product line in Q2, we ran into a minor hiccup that pushed our timeline back a little bit, but we're still on track for next quarter.
That's an interesting thought. What part of the vest do you think it would be most useful on? We have a guy at the shop who's already rigged some of the prototyping up to make shoulder pads for his PC.
@@HardHeadVeterans I really recommend having it in the inside of the vest like cotton over the latice should be a layer of silcone then the Kevlar. We're working on a 3/4' for this exact reason! Stay tuned on that.
@@HardHeadVeterans Just ordered the 3/4"! I will make sure to update to see how they fit compared to the original. Thanks!
Nice. I’ll definitely pick up once you have the helmet I want back in stock.
We're anticipating restocks in about 4 week at the moment for most of the products that are currently out of stock at the time of this comment.
How much do u make of the stock per month *just curious* I wanna know how much u guys make per month.
Can't wait to finally get my helmet soon. You guys seem to be the best in terms of quality and price. A nice middle ground.
Wow I will be ordering one soon along with your Helmet

If i'm right in between a medium helmet and a large helmet, and plan on getting these pads, does it matter which helmet I go with?

leaves crazy pattern marks on your head when u weat it. scares people when you take the helmet off
How do these wear/feel on those up us who are... let's say... follically challenged?
I’m wondering the same thing.

If there was a base layer of inverted honeycomb, it'd be probably more durable. Coming from an NDI inspector, I love shit like this 😂
i'm only a bit concerned how do they hold up overtime. Just a bit because I am a wrench-turning POG.

Around 4 weeks from the time of this comment. Ukraine has hit our inventory harder than we expected.
"Liquid Death" lol
Im still waiting for someone to make a energy drink and call it "Kidneystone Juice"
Im still puzzled as to how the lattice reduces deformation, which is something inherent to the ballistic material.

Is this 3D printed material impervious to insect repellent?🤔
This isn't something we've tested? I mean, it'd be about as impervious to it as it is to water I suppose.

You say they reduce Backface deformation and blunt force impact by "X" percent. "X"percent compared to what?
This is compared to our OEM ATE pads, that already perform very well!
Technology is a beautiful thing. RUN don't walk to the NFL with this...and the NHL, NCAA....etc etc.
