For my daughters, Taylor and Jordan, your father has loved Sum 41 since you were toddlers. Someday I will be gone, but hopefully you will, at some point in time, see this message. I hope that you will then think about the times that we jammed to this awesome band.
Coold dad! Please say hi to taylor and jordan from me (:
+Berak Celana you have a cool dad
Ha ha that's like my 78 yr old dad giving me the same heartfelt lecture only he'd be talking about jamming to the Kingston Trio.
make this stay up in the comments please
the times I listened to music with my dad will be forever remembered as some of the best times we had together, Taylor and Jordan your dad has great taste in music
Please tell me other 22 year olds listen to this at midnight.
No
I KNOW ONE DOES 🙅😓
21 but yess i do 4 in the morning :D
Mushroomhead
lamb Of God
yes!
"it's not a phase mom" in fact, here we are, ten years later.
Fans still alive :D
damn straight
Damn right bro ✌️🤘
I don't even get why music like this is considered a phase, and other genres are not... Like, why?? This is good music, it's a music taste, it doesn't have to be "a phase"
Why people think any rock song is emo.
It's probably pretty rare for a punk song to become *more* relatable and meaningful as we get old! This is one of them.
The Sums kick ass.
Naw, actually they only become more meaningful as an adult. You catch nuances you didn't earlier 😊
fr bro i love sum 41 right now this is one of my favorite songs ever!
One of the key elements of punk is that the lyrics are often easily relatable!
nice reference lol
yeeeessssssss
"All innocence is long gone.
I pledge allegiance to a world of disbelief where I belong."

Re-writes lyrics. 70 likes?
+Bean Merchant it's me The Dead xD I think I have you on my friends list on steam
+Bean Merchant Anyone who is the "likes police" is lower than low!
+Billy Villa i cant say enough bad things about this comment
+markss12 The world is in allegiance to disbelief, but belief in Jesus is where mankind really belongs. He repairs "walking disasters" and unites the broken. *thumbs up*
When i was a kid, i needed a song louder than my mom and dad fighting
Thank you Sum 41
🥺
qq
GREAT comment!! Hell yeah!
Sickkkk
This songs hits harder the older you get. I love how the last verse comes in like a rainbow after a storm. I cry errytime.
Well said!

the history of Chuck album
I used to play this song on my headphones to drown out the noise of my parents' fighting
Same here
Wow. That’s very heavy, man. I’m glad you were able to have something to distract you from the pain you were in during those times though. Music saves.
Me too :( do they still do?
ayee, same here bro
Me too
Goddamn I miss high school. Sum41, Simple Plan, All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, even Paramore. God, the time flew by fast as fuck. 14 one minute, 21 going on 22 the next.
+Eagle try being 33 going on 34 and still wishing i were 17 again!
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who feels that way.
+Eagle I'm 17, in a band, leaving for college next year. Any advice?
+Eagle shittt.. yes we fucking are
+Joshua Hughes no you dont have to, kid! go get a better life for the future
back in those days Green Day, Sum 41, Blink 182, Good Charlotte was everything
For me they are apart of me

Sum 41- one of the best
my life got me feelin this way 😢
I’ll turn 50 in a few months and I still kick it to this song. Always embrace your inner youth, remember, it’s not the age of the car it’s the mileage
Hope you had a great birthday, bless ya
Being a secret chimp doesn't mean you can't celebrate life-milestones with folks. I hope you had a great 50th. Just try and avoid conversations with people when you're eating peanut butter from the jar. :P
I’m sorry, your like 51 now and still listening to Sum 41 that’s Awesome your real cool
Damn. Amen brother
Hey Lance age is a number keep being young bro🤘 hope to see you at a concert of mine one day
The depressing thing about Sum 41 is that they didn't break up
People just forgot about them
I never forgot
But most people did
***** check google
They didn't burn. Only faded away
Dude! they're still doing concerts and stuff...they will never be forgotten
You gotta admit Sum 41 made some serious songs and at the same time have fun in their videos
**watches pieces and cries**
Yes yes yes
Yep
@@kashikaze9129 me dude
38 here. Lost my mom in 09 after I moved out for the 3rd time. I'll never be able to go back after what happened. Love your parents kids. A long life is never a guarantee.
Not there yet but thank you for the heads up. Your words touched someone.
I'm about 20 years younger but you definitely put a decent thought into my head.
Your mum would be SO proud of you.
Lyrics
I haven't been home for a while
I'm sure everything's the same
Mom and Dad both in denial
An only child to take the blame
Sorry, Mom, but I don't miss you
Father's no name you deserve
I'm just a kid with no ambitions
Wouldn't come home for the world
Never know what I've become
The king of all that's said and done
The forgotten son
This city's buried in defeat
I walk along these no name streets
Wave goodbye to all
As I fall...
At the dead end I begin
To burn the bridge of innocence
Satisfaction guaranteed
A pill-away catastrophe
On a mission nowhere bound
Inhibitions underground
A shallow grave I
Have dug all by myself
And now I've been gone for so long
I can't remember who was wrong
All innocence is long gone
I pledge allegiance to a world of disbelief
Where I belong
A walking disaster
The son of all bastards
You regret you made me
It's too late to save me
(You regret you made me
It's too late to save me)
As far as I can tell
It's just voices in my head
Am I talking to myself?
'Cause I don't know what I just said
Far is where I fell
Maybe I'm better off dead
Am I at the end of nowhere
Is this as good as it gets?
And now I've been gone for so long
I can't remember who was wrong
All innocence is long gone
I pledge allegiance to a world of disbelief
Where I belong
A walking disaster
The son of all bastards
You regret you made me
It's too late to save me
(You regret you made me
It's too late to save me)
And now I've been gone for so long
I can't remember who was wrong
All innocence is long gone
I pledge allegiance to a world of disbelief
Where I belong
A walking disaster
The son of all bastards
You regret you made me
It's too late to save me
(You regret you made me
It's too late to save me)
I will be home in a while
You don't have to say a word
I can't wait to see you smile
Wouldn't miss it for the world

This band Is underrated. It needs more popularity
When you see what "popular" means today, I'm not as convinced as you seem to be. And by the way, sum 41 are damn known in what we could call "rock world" , i really miss this period of time. What music has become today is such a shame
Cooked Spam The-Second >15m views isn't underrated.
BananaMasterRace and how much does shitty gangnam style have again oh right over 2 fucking billion and that's just stupid lyrics over and over again
Hey,it‘s just personal taste.
Repect it,and don‘t think like that.
That‘s the way that everyone don‘t respect each other‘s tast.
brandon cardellino hey -- opah!! Sum 41 style!! hahaha
Blink -182 and Sum -41 good times
:)
+Matt Barnabee And Green Day 75
+Petrock508 that reference
amo esas dos bandas
+Petrock508 Only true Sum 41 fans know
I really wish they made a full song out of the last 30 seconds... That’s honestly my favourite part
same
The outro or the robot dance?
@@thomasbarton1050 the outro
It wouldn't have the same impact without the rest of the song imo
@@thomasbarton1050 the outro, the last 30 seconds of the song before robot dance of 2 seconds. Where he sings slowly
When this came out I was 16, suicidal & an only child. Now i’m 30 and have a baby sister who I come home to just to see her smile. wouldn’t miss it for the world. 🥺
❤️
Raise a glass to our women Avril Lavigne included ♥
I have almost no friends or social life I am every day of the institute by myself and it has been four years now but groups like sum 41 always cheer me up with their music and make them evade me and forget things even for a few hours ❤️
@@arkforus261 I have no social life or really any friends either. I know how you feel. ❤️ Music def helps a lot.
Used to listen to this at 16 depressed.
Still listening to this depressed at 29 lmaoo
How can a song describe someone's life so vividly.
Yes, That Shows You Are Not Alone :-)!
20's punk music and 20's culture was the best year
Lazuardhi Purnama Sandy Dont you mean 00's (2000's) not 20's (1920's) ;)
Pardon me. I mean 2000's 😂
working abroad this hit surprisingly close, Still a 10/10 song.
It's crazy to think I listened to these guys when I was 14, I'm 24 now and I still listen to them time and time again. God bless Sum 41
❤️❤️❤️
i‘m 14 now and just started to listen to them, hope i will be like you!
i'm 31 now, started listening back in 2001!
Same mate
Same except im older than you. But im a teen at heart
Neil Patrick Harris's outcast brother is a great singer.
Lmao
Pity he doesn't wear a suit.
I've always thought he looked like Drake Bell 😂
+Allkillerzwin90 i see it
I was just thinking the same thing lol
This is easily their best song
Katlyn Mielke Really? My favourite's "With Me".. but eh, to each their own.
This song unfortunately describes me and my family but With Me describes me and my husband
95% of their songs are good. That is what makes them a great band.
My favorite is probably "Thanks For Nothing".
Fatflip says otherwise
This Toy Story movie trailer is so wild
underrated comment right here
This is like the "adam's song" of sum 41
Honestly 😂
But i hate that part 0:59 . First part and ending so cool
Yes
Adams song is better tho imo
Yes
theres something about this song that makes me so happy/sad/wanna smile/wanna break a tear/ extremely homesick/hope I never go home again. amazing band
SUM-41 is such an underrated band. They deserve si much more recognition.
If your 30 something and here feel no shame you are in great company long live early 2000s punk rock
Saw Sum 41 yesterday, this is the song that made me burst into tears. I relate so much to it, my whole childhood and adolescence was deeply troubled by crazy family issues and I get goosebumps every time I listen to it.

This is my anthem! Sum 41 has sang the soundtrack of my life.
...I want them back. :(

Sum 41, Blink-182, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Green Day, New Found Glory, Yellowcard, Relient K, Fall Out Boy, MxPx, Allison, Panda marcaron mi vida de adolescente entre el 2008 y 2010, mi secundaria! El Pop-Punk fue lo mejor de esa etapa 😄😊

Here I am , I’ve been living in Canada for a long time and since I was young I’ve been listening to sum 41 I’m
So proud of being on this land
Here after hearing they’ll be disbanding. I just started listening to them 4 years ago with Chuck and I genuinely came to love this band. I’m very glad to have found them when I did, and while it sucks to hear it’s gonna be over, I’ll be looking forward to their last record “Heaven :x: Hell”.
#LongLiveSum41.
I hope to God Heaven and Hell are not their last albums
Heard them at Delmar Hall here in St Louis, a very small venue and it was kick ass! The best concert I've seen! Despite me standing up the whole time and putting strain on my back and getting a flat tire after the concert.
1:09 This is fucking alternative rock kids. This is the music I fucking live for. LETS GO!!!!
i finally found it!
as a kid, i saw this on MTV and have been searching for it ever since, with only the knowledge that it was Punk Rock, and involved a toy robot. and it turns out it's a Sum 41 song, one of my favorite childhood bands! how did i miss this?!?
Millencolin - kemp
Growing up listening to bands like these guys was awesome. Now we say goodbye to sum 41 and that hits home hard, its an end to an era and its always hard to accept but nothing last forever. Thanks for your music boys.
Don't give up hope for them getting back together one day. I felt the same way about Yellowcard in 2017, now they're back.
Danm The song is older than me but still a legend
Amen

the history of Chuck album
another classic by this amazing band
This song reminds me of my relationship with my parents they always make me feel like I'm not good enough for them
well do something about it instead of listening to this shit ass band
destinyblade08 *awesome band
sorry man i cant get into them
I miss the day when music like this a mainstreams
I feel like he's coming at the lyrics at the start as a sense of rebellion, saying he won't miss his mom and his dad abandoned him, that at the end of the song he says I can't wait to see you smile wouldn't miss it for the world, talking to his child. Or if he doesn't have a child that's a beautiful metaphor.
My friend was buried on this music, I just hope to hear it at the Bordeaux's concert, for him. Always in our memories my Friend...
Much love rock brother
To that stranger who told me about this band a year ago.. I love you.
When you live in a broken home, it’s okay to break down and cry.. but when you cant break down and cry, sometimes, you just gotta break out
First birthday with no parents. I thank my friends for being by my side.
Hol'up
Derrick loves to "pledge allegiance" in their songs, a lot.
and "it's too late" too
High school, man tears! I remember jamming it out to The Sums back in the day! ;)
"Hang on I think I'm about to get jumped"
Yeah, 2003 was a good year.
I still miss Green Day 75 the most.
I'm more of a classic rock fan, The Led Zeppelins, huh?
I cracked up so hard when he said that.
everybody got they own story.. sum41, i love this band since fatlip, we are from broken home.
You know ur a g listening to this in 2022. 🐐🤟
Crazy how after 17 years I'm still listening to this band. Half hour of power turned me from a little football playing ruffian to a little greebo skater kid and I never turned back haha. 41 salutes forever. In ten years when I'm 37..I'll still be listening!
Umm u sent this comment three years ago soo u meant 17 years from 3 years ago... Which mean u listened to this band 20 years ago but this song was launched 11 years ago. The band started in 1996. If you were talking about listening to this band since this band was 4yrs old bug respect if u said that you were listening to this song in 2000, that's a load on the of bullshit.
we are almost there buddy! (same age)
I was 11 when I found out about sum 41. I'm 18 now. but when I was 11.. I was hoping to be a teenager so bad.. thinking it would be about rock music like this, concerts, doing crazy shit with your friends and friends having your back when you get in trouble. but nowadays, parties are all about hooking up, the pop music these days are so generic, friends back stab on a daily basis. this isnt' what I wanted lmao, the older days seem better. especially with the music. not saying I completely hate today's music but maybe I'm just too stuck on what I grew up with. sum 41, avril lavigne, blink 182, all time low, paramore, boys like girls.
lol I expected my teenages years to be like this too...
I miss the early 00's...
This song reminds me of feeling unlikable in this day and age...it's pretty tough.
+Aliens. Abduct. I'm 15, I also hate this generation, I'm glad I'm not alone. we have rented taste, good music, we see our generation is failed. we are a cut above them
+Maniactric I am 23, I feel like your teenage years are missing... With the birth of smartphones and whatnot I feel like many things are missing..
+Aliens. Abduct. "I miss the days like these."
kid, you weren't even around to experience them. Shut up. Nobody cares about you hating your generation, everybody hates it.
underclass hero is underrated fight me
the lyrics are just toooo damn relatable...
"I'll be home in awhile, You don't have to say a word, I can't wait to see you smile, Wouldn't miss it for the world."
Hate how relatable this song is but, do really love it at the same time.
Me too.
Ethan Craig This song reminds me of the time I tried to run away when I was younger. Still having thoughts rn of trying to disappear.
this song is about a kid thinking that his parents don't love him so he runs away from home then learns how much they love and miss him so decides to return hime
I heard this song when I was 13... I’m 25 now. Who else still listens??
Yeah bro 26 here :(
23 here. This song really takes me back to when skateboarding was all I wanted to do as a kid
Yep, 25, turning 26 in some odd months.

I was 12 years old when i first hear this song i still remember playing this song whole fucking day on repeat. And now im 26 still listening to this legendary song and gonna repeat again whole fucking day!
I know that i'll listen to this even if im 50
i got 20 years until i reach the 50 and i can understand you feeling buddy.
At that point, this will be old people music.
If your related to the story of this song, you probably will listen this song for as long as you live just to wonder 'how the heck I'm still alive?" or to cherish all the pain & struggling that you've been through. Stay blessed! 🤘
jesus im a little over 6 yrs away
I am 51, an old rock/metal man at heart.
I'll never get tired of sun 41, I just hope I'll be able to see them in a concert one day.
He’ll NEVER have to worry about being forgot-“Legends never Die” much love as always!!
listening again to sum41 songs since they're disbanding :(
God damn... has it already been 10 years since this song came out? Everyday seems to drag on forever, but then the years go by in a flash. I'm never going to stop listening to the bands I grew up with.
the fact that their music still reaches people says a lot about the older alt punk rock generation really 👌
I listen to this because it's exactly my life and me
Dave we miss you.
Derrick, Cone and Steve-o, the greatest.
as a 22 year old, who grew up in a broken home, and is still kind of living in it, this hits very very close to home.
Just turned 30. Similar boat mi amigo.
yep 21 here this song always makes me think of my mom and the shit she put us through

You just gotta keep digging
Check out sailing camp, I dunno how much you'll find on them but they're cool, I found their Instagram account
You guys ruined me for concerts. Your farewell tour easily the best show I have ever seen. I knew two songs going in and now I know them all... My kid was like meh it was his first concert, he bought a shirt after and was like dad those guys rocked our faces off! Me=Hero of the day...

Hard to criticize the choice of those 3 bands (yes, I meant three).
24 in 2024 and he’s talking directly to me. Timeless band, love these guys!
This is how I feel about my old friends and friends in general. They miss me, but I don’t want them to see how far I’ve deteriorated and how little I’ve accomplished due to shattered mental health. I’m too ashamed, so I tend to push people away.
correct me if im wrong, but the dude was a heavy drinker, and after this album he cleaned up his shit with the help of his parents and sobered up. long lost son went home
