This was some GENIUS portrayal of being in an abusive relationship. The fact that the boyfriend wasn’t shown literally, only the things that he was throwing. It’s a nod to how BLIND abusive relationships can be, and how despite her pain, she doesn’t RECOGNIZE that he’s the issue! Just like most of society, she is ALSO blind to his abuse due to caring for him. This is fucking PHENOMENAL! (Performing this as my final senior solo for the end of year concert with my band. This is gonna EXPLODE.)
Ex step dad is now 6 feet deep and my mom is living her best life, grew up learning how to fight a grown man while trying to protect her and getting knocked out, the weak will always try to hurt those they can to feel strong. My wife and kids will never and have never known that kind of pain. This song hits every part of my heart to this day.
This song gave me the balls to stand up to me ex...he proceeded to try to beat me harder than he had ever done before, holding my kids and myself hostage overnight, but we escaped the next morning. It's been almost 10 years. Thank you.
That's truly amazing you got the strength and courage to stand up to him. Keep being awesome, not just for your kids but for yourself too. You're strong mamma!!!
This is so funny you have mentioned that. This song was released my senior year at high school, and our yearbook had a slogan "unlock the memories". And this song actually unlocks a whole lot of memories from that year for me...
This song has been rumbling around in my head for over 15 years. Your mastery as a frontman was not lost on me on your Melbourne Australia gig Sep 22. You handled the power failure masterfully. It was a pleasure and an honour to finally hear you in person. And it was everything I hoped for. Thank you for the beautiful and utterfully powerful message you have spread in this song, I truly appreciate it.
This shows that there's more to a relationship than violence and taking from your partner and that a real relationship shows trust, loyalty, forgiveness and above all, LOVE. Something I had to learn, being on the receiving end for a long while
+Crystal Jones - It's not easy, especially when you try to make excuses for the other person ("he didn't mean it" or "he was drunk" or "he apologized and I know he loves me"). It's even harder for people who are co-dependent, or financially rely on an abuser and feel there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Glad you were able to finally find some happiness, and yes folks, sometimes being alone may take some adjustment, but I promise it's much better than being at the receiving end of abuse. Well said, well said indeed. People shouldn't be dependent on each other to the point where they can't live and breath (literally) even without an abusive relationship
my mom showed me this song when i was a pre-teen. she had been in a long abusive relationship with my dad before she had finally left. when she played me this song she told me to never let anyone treat me badly. this song still reminds me of her and i still carry what she’s taught me :)
Brittany Schmalfeldt i am so sorry to hear that. I hope you are ok and thoughts and preyers to her family friends and you. You will get through this. Do your best to do her proud. RIP Lea
I used to jam to this song as a teen. *I never thought I would relate to it.* Don’t know who needs to hear this, but even if you love him more than you love yourself, please leave if it isn’t getting any better.
I never thought I would relate to it too, but from the other side. Turns out i abuse her, not physically but mentally. Now it's over, she take the right action. I feel ashamed and want to be better person after listening to this song again.
Honestly this is so funny to me may 4th was the night my son was conceived and we were listening to this song it breaks my heart because she left me for a guy that treats her like shit
As someone who loves someone who dealt with this her whole life, this song really hits me in the chest. She dealt with this and more and has physical limitations because of it. To the women dealing with this, you're beautiful and deserve better. You're not what he paints you out to be and your DEFINITELY capable of being loved!
Thank you for saying that. It's so hard to believe when you have been told that you are ugly, nothing and only born to make everyone unhappy. When you are told you should do the world a favor and end it because nobody will ever love you. I lived with the nightmare for 17 years. I only left because I was afraid as my son got older that he would hit him as well because my son is autistic.

My mom is sooo into this alternative rock stuff. She's been listening to it since high-school. I've been listening my entire life. She has has a major influence on my music taste. A good influence. I wouldn't change a thing about it. I love her
This song was ahead of its time. It's so powerful and it talks about a really tough subject that no one wants to hear. I will always have a special place in my heart for this song. The things people go through are horrendous and it makes me happy to know that people actually care enough to voice their opinions and stand with those that can't stand for themselves.
Here in the last decade alone, there have been more and more resources for people stuck in these situations. It was almost never discussed in songs and rarely mentioned in popular culture as a whole. Thats what I meant by ahead of its time.
Yes, this song is so validating and empowering. I love how they're confronting the abuser about their behavior, saying it's not okay and almost making fun of him for needing to hurt others to feel strong. This song is in a league of its own.
This music got me through my teenage years growing up in an abusive environment. I am now 34 and so thankful that my life is so different! I still come back to this music because its nostalgic for me and it allows me to see how far i have come!
I'm 31 and still abused by my narcissist parents. But I'm glad things got better for you and hope things continue to get better for you. I hope to be finally getting an apartment soon and getting away from this Hell. I hope you have a good holiday season and I wish you all the best.
@ i had to move out of state, was homeless. But i did this at 18. It was the only way i could heal. Good luck 💖 i hope you get through the holiday season and will be praying for you to get your own place! Remember just because they birthed you doesnt give them the right to abuse you
@@NicDoesDumbThings not really, other than the clowns like mgk who are trying to leech off this sound all of a sudden. I dont think this sounds gonna make a comeback :/
It is!! A lot of us teenagers are slowly bringing back the subcultures, punk, emo, goth, whatever. It's coming back, it's just that the mainstream media has so much attention that people dont know about us
I'm glad you escaped and now you have an opportunity to start a new chapter in your life. As a man this song used to help me in 2009 when I was facing bullying in school.
@@Stonerteddy Bullying is also serious. It can leave traumatic scars in just the same way. There's no need to invalidate one horrible situation to shine light on another.

It's a crazy thought; in the animal kingdom, they compete for women and protect them with their life. Yet humans, the most intelligent life form known to man actually gets a woman, beats her, and covers up the crime. The competition was gone so they think it's their right to do what they want. Some people make me sick.
Kieran, it's okay little boy. You're feeling for dominance must come eventually. Maybe if you were to broaden your vocabulary, rather than using context clues, you would realize I never said all humans. Here's an example. Rodents like beavers are smarter than some humans. Although proving true already, as you're not a smart child, it's not saying they are smarter than people like myself, or most other people.
"Face Down" Hey, girl, you know you drive me crazy One look puts the rhythm in my hand Still I'll never understand why you hang around I see what's going down Cover up with make-up in the mirror Tell yourself, it's never gonna happen again You cry alone and then he swears he loves you Do you feel like a man when you push her around? Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground? Well, I'll tell you, my friend, one day this world's gonna end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect Every action in this world will bear a consequence If you wade around forever, you will surely drown I see what's going down I see the way you go and say you're right again Say you're right again Heed my lecture Do you feel like a man when you push her around? Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground? Well, I'll tell you, my friend, one day this world's gonna end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Face down in the dirt She said, "This doesn't hurt" She said, "I finally had enough" Face down in the dirt She said, "This doesn't hurt" She said, "I finally had enough" One day she will tell you that she has had enough [Album version:] It's coming round again [Music video version:] He's coming round again Do you feel like a man when you push her around? Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground? Well, I'll tell you, my friend, one day this world's gonna end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Do you feel like a man when you push her around? my mom showed me this song when i was a pre-teen. she had been in a long abusive relationship with my dad before she had finally left. when she played me this song she told me to never let anyone treat me badly. this song still reminds me of her and i still carry what she’s taught me :)
Bro, that is heartbreaking.
Your Mom is a good woman and a great Mother. Pass the wisdom on to your kids.
Are you still okay now?
Good on her, what a blessing to have a mother who is able to do that for you, man. How have y'all been?
I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you are doing better now ❤❤

I used to jam to this song as a teen.
*I never thought I would relate to it.*
Don’t know who needs to hear this, but even if you love him more than you love yourself, please leave if it isn’t getting any better.
I hope you're in a safe place now and living the life you deserve, the happiest kind
Quick edit: “…please leave. It isn’t getting better.”
I never thought I would relate to it too, but from the other side. Turns out i abuse her, not physically but mentally. Now it's over, she take the right action. I feel ashamed and want to be better person after listening to this song again.

As someone who loves someone who dealt with this her whole life, this song really hits me in the chest. She dealt with this and more and has physical limitations because of it. To the women dealing with this, you're beautiful and deserve better. You're not what he paints you out to be and your DEFINITELY capable of being loved!
Thankyou. Your words are very gratefully recieved.I still have flashbacks from 20 years ago.Not as bad now...but still there.

OMG yes
They've Try to delete their Channel and this song.
But it will never be.
Legends never Falls to the Ground
Why do they want to delete their channel?
This song was ahead of its time. It's so powerful and it talks about a really tough subject that no one wants to hear. I will always have a special place in my heart for this song. The things people go through are horrendous and it makes me happy to know that people actually care enough to voice their opinions and stand with those that can't stand for themselves.
Domestic abuse has been around for a very long time.. not sure what "ahead of its time" meant
@@Sqippy the said the song is ahead of its time not the topic.

It's a crazy thought; in the animal kingdom, they compete for women and protect them with their life. Yet humans, the most intelligent life form known to man actually gets a woman, beats her, and covers up the crime. The competition was gone so they think it's their right to do what they want. Some people make me sick.
MG#1 Productions you are correct they use 20 percent of their brain
Did you call me an idiot?
Kieran, it's okay little boy. You're feeling for dominance must come eventually. Maybe if you were to broaden your vocabulary, rather than using context clues, you would realize I never said all humans. Here's an example. Rodents like beavers are smarter than some humans. Although proving true already, as you're not a smart child, it's not saying they are smarter than people like myself, or most other people.

Hey, girl, you know you drive me crazy
One look puts the rhythm in my hand
Still I'll never understand why you hang around
I see what's going down
Cover up with make-up in the mirror
Tell yourself, it's never gonna happen again
You cry alone and then he swears he loves you
Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well, I'll tell you, my friend, one day this world's gonna end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found
A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
Every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wade around forever, you will surely drown
I see what's going down
I see the way you go and say you're right again
Say you're right again
Heed my lecture
Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well, I'll tell you, my friend, one day this world's gonna end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found
Face down in the dirt
She said, "This doesn't hurt"
She said, "I finally had enough"
Face down in the dirt
She said, "This doesn't hurt"
She said, "I finally had enough"
One day she will tell you that she has had enough
