I really appreciate all the effort and time you put into reviewing these products so the rest of us don't have to or maybe aren't really able to. Thank you a ton, bro. From a detailer in west virginia, you have saved me a ton of money, most the things I've wanted to try I've been able to find one of your videos about it. 👊
Always love these real world tests that you carry out. Saves viewers / detailers a ton of wasted money with products that dont really work as advertised
Thanks for this...what cleaner should I use for black wheels? You mention that Koch is one of your favorites...are you recommending this for black rims as well?
Thanks for the honest review! I have matte black wheels on my 2021 4Runner (TRD Pro wheels) and looking for a good alternative, but this doesn't seem to be the right one. THX!
It's all marketing! Try Dawn dish soap on your wheels and tell me if it doesn't do a way better job? Just use a proper microfiber wash cloth or wheel brush and you will be amazed!
Depends on how dirty your wheels are prior to applying. It’s fine for removing brake dust but if you got caked on mud from off-roading you will be scrubbing regardless of the product.
Thanks for review. I have black wheels n been looking for something. Had really high hopes for this. I like meguiars products. My wheels are all glossy so I still think I will try it out. Thanks once again for review
Thanks Corey! And yea its not a super aggressive cleaner, but i think they wanted to be safe on blacks wheels so that it doesnt stain. Overall a decent product and smells really good, but just wasnt what i was hoping for
Just bought the Hot Wheels this week. Been waiting for it to stop raining here in Huntington Beach to wash my 4Runner with TRD satin rims. After wash looking for protection on them. Was going to try. chemical guys meticulous matte detailer or Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Wax Coating. Your thoughts? Great video appreciate all your hard work as always.😁
Hey Josh, I was looking through your video's and I don't see one on tips for cleaning honeycomb grills. Do you have one or can you do one with a cleaner you would recommend? I have an Alfa Romeo Giulia. Thanks!
is there actually ANY wheel product that you just spray on and rinse off that actually doesnt need agitation to get the wheels properly cleaned? Id really love to know lol
On Black wheels i pretty much always have to do some sort of agitaion or final wipe. On normal silver alloy wheels though this stuff is amazing! Technicians Choice Brake-r: amzn.to/40xuHzp
@@imjoshv for the most part i have found that a detergent like Dawn on a soft microfibre cloth and a good barell brush is as effective as it gets and loads cheaper than the "wheel cleaners". Maybe slightly more effort but they come out like new if they arent particularly gunked up.
Josh, I much prefer your car detailing videos without the "add in" photos and sound effects. I like your regular videos without the editing. Just saying. After being bought out by 3M and with new products out there on the market, there is much more competition for detailing products

Thank you for the honest reviews! I stick with Megs D143, it’s hard to beat for the price. I know there’s better out there, but a gallon that’s dilute-able and cleans tires well is hard to find.
I have a brand new 2024 4Runner with 20 inch black XP gunner alloy wheels. I only went 3 or 4 weeks without cleaning them and tried this out on the brake dust that accumulated. Followed the directions to a T and was very disappointed to see it did nothing.
I dont know if anyoen has already asked this question.... But what then is the PRODUCT to use on a NEW BLACK GLOSSY CERAMIC COATED WHEEL? What is safe and good? I dont think you mantoned one in this video. Thanks
I had better results, I used a pressure sprayer to pre-rinse and the idea to pre-rinse first is to get the top layer off dirt and grim first so that the chemical can get to the hard stains and dissolve them off easier i see better results this way , then spray hot rims and let saturate for 1min, its like an oven cleaner you can see all the brown just melting off it took off brown rust like stains i had for over 20 years on a 1999 ford expedition, my rims look new. I couldn't believe how easy it was.i wish i could show you before an after pictures.
based on everything you said in your review, its pretty much garbage, but yet you recommend..kind of confusing. But thanks anyways. I do enjoy your videos.
I used this product twice so far on gloss black rims and wasn’t impressed. I seen you agitate and results were better. I guess I’ll agitate next time haha
Question josh, I went into my local detail supplier looking for iron remover, they sold me aluminum brightener, their brand of course. Is aluminum brightener Similar to iron remover? Paint safe? Thanks
Aluminum brightener is usually used as a wheel cleaner for certain types of wheels. Iron removers are designed to dissolve embedded iron deposits and usually have the color change effect or bleeding when its working. Aluminum Brighteners are also usually acid based as well and will have ph in the under 7 range. They may be some applications for paint (like possibly removing calcium deposits and water spots) but i wouldnt use it like an iron remover. You definitely want to be careful
I have a buddy that is a distributor for carbrite and advanced detailing products. I asked him about iron remover as I use tw and was looking for something in not only bulk size but also more economical. He told me to try acid wheel cleaner at 10 to 1 or so . Rinse down , spray and use a mesh bug sponge. Rinse agian really good . Works great . Very little clay bar needed after . Very cost effective and doesn't hurt the paint.
@Derrick Abare ya I was unsure about the aluminum brightener. A gallon was only like 20 bucks so I'm not out alot. I'll probably just go with the turtle wax iron remover. I've seen good reviews.
@IMJOSHV - Car Detailing and Reconditioning Tips thank you for your response. I really appreciate it. Your reviews are great, I watched the one of your ryobi 1800 psi & bought the pressure washer the next day just as an extra
I used this product on my black glossy rims and I had the same results…… it sucks. I still had to get out the soap, brushes and microfiber mitt to clean them. Not impressed.
Homie! I need the reduction rates for the Technician Choice 582 Spray Ceramic for interiors. Full strength for maximum protection on exterior. 1:1 for a drying agent and what else? Thanks!!!
I don't believe it is acid basic as sulfonic acid are used in many soaps and detergents along with the petroleum and sodium salts. I think its to help with composition itself shouldn't play very much into the cleaners effect. It looks to be a little alkaline like you said
Josh I got mjjc from your website today the o ring blew on the 1/4 quick connect that connects to the gun and foam cannon what size o ring do i replace it with i cant figure out what size it is
On black wheels I’m assuming? Yes I was bummed by that too. I was really hoping for something that would work significantly better than anything else on black wheels. This was fine if you agitate but then so are all the other wheels cleaners… I’d say my favorite on black wheels now is Koch chemie magic wheel cleaner. Still not perfect and you do have to agitate but it does a good job of pulling dirt out of the black
Hey Josh Im new here thanks for this review, I have gloss black wheels and have already noticed that they show scratches easily , I hope I can find this new cleaner and also the wheel wax or polish that you showed can you tell me wwhat its called ,thanks
DO NOT use dawn dish soap unless your car isn't really that expensive. Dawn strips car wax especially on the wheels. It doesn't remove iron fallout/brake dust the best than Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner. ALWAYS use the right chemicals for a specfic job. Dawn is only great for a strip wash to prep the paint to put any protective coating like wax, ceramic coating, paint sealant after.
Nothing can help my wheels except another professional renovation. They are an embarrassment on an otherwise immaculate car. Bubbled all over where they filled. I had them done three years ago and they looked wonderful. Was is a bad job or did I use an incompatible product?
Another honest review, thanks Josh! Just bought some stuff from you and am excited to try them out. Can you do some reviews on Poorboy’s World and Griot’s. Specifically PW’s Natural Look and Bold N Bright, Griot’s Speed Shine, Boss line of compounds, sealants, and wax. Thanks for the videos!
Josh, thanks for the detailed, informative review! A question for you on wheel care for gloss black wheels. Do you recommend any type of wheel wax or protectant like Meguiars max coat? Would love to see a review on these products. Thanks again for some of the most researched, unbiased and honest reviews on the web!
I would stay away from wheel waxes or protectants unless you want to ceramic coat your wheels. if you use a spray wax you risk getting it on your brake pads and rotors which will affect breaking. Just my opinion.

Is it safe on painted rim
Can you use these in regular colored wheels?
Eagle One used to make a Black wheel cleaner that I liked, I use that one, it has a iron remover built in
It's all marketing! Try Dawn dish soap on your wheels and tell me if it doesn't do a way better job? Just use a proper microfiber wash cloth or wheel brush and you will be amazed!
I just use regular soap/Dawn and water and no issues...
When you have to scrub your wheels after applying the product, this might as well do absolutely nothing at all lol.
I bought it today. Waste of money just soap and scrub
Dawn dish soap does a better job 🫤
Depends on how dirty your wheels are prior to applying. It’s fine for removing brake dust but if you got caked on mud from off-roading you will be scrubbing regardless of the product.

Ok, do NOT use on stolen wheels, ya'll or childhood car toys.
Congratulations on 100K subs Josh.

I tried this stuff, and I only got one use out of it.
KCX MWC for satin black wheels. Expensive but probably the only product out there that you can truly spray on and pressure rinse off.
Why are you using an interior brush on your rims and then complaining the product you’re reviewing doesn’t work that well? 🤡

What’s the best wheel cleaner for black matte wheels please?
How does the chemical know what color is under the clear coat? Just another bottle of bs you don't need
I want to try to paint my rims this year. I thought about buying new ones but I don't really care about the style. Just want the color to match.
What about black with a red anodized face for this wheel cleaner
