Trent and Wayne Gardner were from California band Magellan and unfortunately both of them tragically took their own lives in different years. Magellan is awesome and released Seven albums between 1991-2008.

There’s a second EC album called Raising The Mammoth which is great too. My favorite project by Trent is:
Leonardo: The Absolute Man which is mindblowing.

I don't have one of the 2 Explorer's Club albums, but the CD of another project of Trent and Wayne Gardner : Leonardo - The Absolute Man. Leonardo who ?
Leonardo da Vinci, of course ! 😆 It's about his life and James LaBrie sings the main role - Leonardo. Other singers are Steve Walsh of Kansas, Davey Pattison (ex Montrose, ex Gamma, ex Robin Trower) and the late Mike Baker (Shadow Gallery and Ayreon) plus some not so known singers. I haven't heard it in years ... but soon again 🤣
You are right with the Marillion-esque melody line, but you can also hear the sound of John Petrucci's guitar as it was in the late 90s🤘

Oh, I had almost forgot this Album. The sound of John Petrucci's guitar on this time period was sooooo majestic.
Now that is in my head I probably have to listen few examples from John's rock discipline 😂. Don't have the VHS anymore but luckily there is YT 😀

I bought the album, when I heard about them from a progmetal radio in Winamp. Oh boy, I have forgotten how good the album is.

Jim! If you liked the drumming of Terry Bozzio, you should listen to the band "U.K." if you haven't. I'm sorry if I have missed that.

Great album! Check out D.C. Cooper singing on track 4, “Time Enough.”

That's not really a band, but an allstar project by Magna Carta label. The whole album is great. Also check Leonardo the Absolute Man and Magellan's Hundred Year Flood.

Not bad but a little 'artificial' sounding with what you describe as the 'MIDI' stuff. Not overly keen on the vocals either. Would probably be better as part of an album.

I’d go further and say very artificial sounding! 90s synths were not the powerhouses they are today!!!

It's a really good album with a bunch of great moments, but this is not the best track on it.
