I hope this isn't a "One and done". The characterizations have all been fantastic, and Andy has crushed it as DM. Season 2 please and thank you...
I was also looking up some of the other monsters that could have featured. I would love to see how Andy introduces and uses them
And there are SO many characters that need to come back.
I wonder if Nate will be a skeleton at that point 👀
x2
Agreeeeeeeeeeeed
Was anyone else expecting Binbag to show up when Andy said "There's a sudden clap of thunder"?
I think for a second, Johnny thought Binbag was about to appear. 😆
A bin full of bags fells over and made that clap of thunder in a reverse order accident.
Thought absolutely the same thing , or at least some reference
Everyone did. 😂
Binbag shows up then Andy makes a random npc gun him down
Johnny really got me on "We were all of us decieved" on the reveal of the fifth ring. You are a glorious nerd. Thanks for the Tolkien reference.
Before the twist I assume is coming, I'm going to try and call it:
Victoria is a horse in disguise.
Edit: I was so close.
SO CLOSE 😂
"HORSEEEEESS! I KNEW THEY DID IT!"
Horsewoman lol
I love how no matter the game, no matter the stakes, Mike commits to not knowing or learning any of the rules.
That was a phenomenal campaign. Andy is a wonderful GM.
I truly hope we get a second season of this in the future.
More of Edie and her charm. More of Garnet and her magic. More of Silas shooting people in the unmentionables, and his hatred of horses.
…and more of Nate and Delacy being so freaking sweet together.
I guess you could say Victoria has the confidence of horses
Oh my god
It's lucky she wasn't able to plunge a red hot horse hoof through Silas' chest
@@Anyaaaa747instead it was just an evil spell that freezes them
Made me laugh out loud
I feel so sorry for anyone who hasn't listened to Mom Can't Cook
I can't believe it's ending already 😭 I want a hundred more episodes
I second this
Going to listen to the podcast version for the extra tidbits
Andy should do a "7 ways they ruined the Marshall's plans" video like Johnny did for d&d.
Johnny suspiciously eyeing Andy the entire time in the beginning was hilarious, but their hissed "there is one!" with regards to the Tumblebleed sent me into a coughing fit from laughing so hard. I love it. And Johnny's reaction to "a sudden clap of thunder" is perfect.
Andy's grinning and little laughing at the Victoria reveal shows just how much he's been waiting for it.
I don't know if the lighting changed or what, but how Andy's face got sort of shadowed more when Delacy brought up that they'd killed Four Horsemen and could kill a Fifth was pretty epic.
"Ohio". I'm just, I'm dead. I can't breathe for laughing so hard. Johnny with "we're all gonna die" and Ellen's "yeah" is so great.
The swearing I've been doing as soon as I heard Bellows. I can't type it here it's so bad. Thought my heart was going to stop before Silas turned his card around. JFC. Then all the dick talk happens. I'm even more dead from laughing. I do love that Bellows made a return, brief as it was.
Garnet forgot about her special 6 fingered hand she got. She could have used it to regenerate her power points.
Oh damn, pitting Delacy vs Nate. Shit. I was surprised they bleeped the "shit" from Johnny given they hadn't been censoring it much before.
Oh god. Edie's whole bit. Damn. The music was perfect for it. So creepy and awesome. Oh effing hell. I was wondering why Andy was so impassive at first. The music is so impactful. It's so intense.
Ooh, that subtle smile from Andy at Luke's 10 on the shooting roll was nice. The music change for the final fight is also a delight.
Absolutely amazing! I adore this series and wouldn't say no to a second run. Masterful marshaling, Andy! Wonderfully done, everyone! I now need to do a rewatch of it all yet again.
I'm still astounded that this is Andy's first time being a GM! How everything was meticulously planned to come to this moment and how every PC had a personal experience and a moment to shine feels like he's been doing it forever.
I don't see this as an end. This is the Weird West, after all, and I can imagine there are many more sinister, beautiful and amazing yarns to be told of these intrepid few.
So... Jane running a game of Vampire next?
I never knew how much I needed this until just now
Hallowstream is coming, so we can all hope. Lord knows I've been doing my bit since way back when Deadlands was announced, let alone premiered. Even if It's only a one-shot or two-parter, I'll take it
God that would be so great.
@@user-hs1xb9tv6e I know, right? And there's even precedent, as Oxventure did the One-Shot Wonder of Dread during a previous Hallowstream
Jane running Vampire is such a great idea, there isn't enough time in the rest of all of eternity to explain how much of a great idea it is.
I really appreciate how Victoria is implied to not be morally wrong, but more just beyond mortal morals
I don't know about that. An induced apocalypse is essentially a fancy way of thinking about a planet-scale genocide, and I don't think one has to be a mortal to understand that that's wrong.
Me, too. I was watching her explain that they were sent there and thinking "Sent by who? God?" Are they defying God by refusing to destroy the world? Should make for some interesting season 2 consequences.
I really hope we get a second season. We didn't even get a Garnet/Edie, Silas/Delacey, or Edie/Nate pairup outside of the whole group episodes! These characters are all amazing and I don't want to say goodbye to them after such a short time. I'm also a huge fan of Andy's marshalling
Called the 4 horsemen!
But did not consider Silas’ hatred for horses 😂
i hope deadlands continues for more seasons it has so much potential
I love Andy in dark clothes. He seems to "dissappear " and "reappear " as the characters need.
"The safe isn't locked"
**Nate kicks in the safe
**Victoria realising the safe was the only thing worth selling left. "Awww"
Can’t recommend this enough. From the mechanics to the storytelling to the chemistry, this has all been wonderful. Andy, you were amazing. Thank you all for this treat.♥️ I’m only sorry it’s done.
Hopefully, we'll see more of it somewhere down the trail. =)
Good ol Nate, always volunteering to be the cadaver in a coalmine.
Boooo (good one lmao)
The 2 things I find the most interesting about the whole campaign 1) Silas had the most Snake Eyes and 2)Andy got the closest to perma killing the players.
Please bring this back for season 2, it was an amazing ride and can't wait for Andy's next campaign.
It feels like the finale just snuck up on us! I don't want in to end yet! 😭
Garnet had the perfect plan. All they had to do was get the rings because obviously you can still do whatever you want as the other 4 fought and exiled Victoria. So it would've been 5 Horseman of the Apocalypse vs a Middle-Aged Woman. And once they killed her they would get to keep their unholy powers.
I think they probably would have risked some kind of long-term corruption if they'd taken the rings, though, even if they decided not to use the powers.
🤣😂🤣 I was thinking what Andy would have done if they just freely accepted this offer?
Was there a plan for if they said "yeah, let's be the new horsemen"? Because my party absolutely would have, & I have to imagine it would've been pretty cool.
well thats the interesting thing to me. Because in essense they doomed the world. XD The world was SUPPOSED TO END. It has to be destroyed before it can be remade. So in essense they have condemned the world to a slow and terribly painful death XD
@@WorldWearyAngel I don't know by how much Andy changed the meta, but the Reckoners (the Horsemen of the Apocalypse) are as evil as they come. I don't think they're aren't trying to save or remake anything, they just want to spread fear and bring Hell on Earth.
But perhaps these are not quite the same horsemen as the Reckoners. Maybe this story is what inspires these evil spirits to assume their names, and what sets them of to find their champions to represent them?
Also in deadlands cannon the reckoned win iirc
@@Olivia-ev9hk true, but afaik Deadlands: Hell on Earth is only one possible future, so the Marshal still has the freedom to create a campaign where the players defeat the Reckoners and Earth is safe.
The fact that Silas’s fear/hatred of horses came into play here is priceless.
Also, I hope there is a season 2 here. It would be a shame to waste these characters.
What an amazing finale! Safe to say, I think I'm not alone in wanting more Deadlands!
12:19 Luke and Johnny refusing to trust Andy’s quite town is so real
"powerbomb the child!" 🤣🤣
Man this episode was an absolute blast! So hoping for a 2nd season! 🤞
Power Bond, mate. Ya got corn in your ears there, son?
Love the uncle-nephew relationship that’s developed between Nate and Delacy, great role playing.
When Andy made Nate attack Delacy I just felt it on so many levels - evil genius move
This whole series has been SO GOOD. Andy's story telling is just mindblowing, and all the characters are fantastic. Very much hoping there is more of this in the future, would love to see more of these characters!
The Oxventure crew repeatedly saying “dick” “penis” and other euphemisms for male nether regions is something I never thought I’d see
I think I might have to buy a set of dice from misty mountain gaming purely out of gratitude for allowing them to skirt the UA-cam policy on bad language.
Seriously. Thought I'd accidentally clicked on a Eurogamer stream for a while there 🤣
Thank you Ellen for setting it up 😂
41:30 is probably my favourite exchange in this entire video. So glad they kept it uncensored
Somehow i don't think this one is goin to be monitised.
1:18:48 I love Johnny’s face in this bit, they clearly have figured out how this works but can’t say anything and the torment is palpable on their face.
Johnny has been great throughout the series in keeping player from character knowledge.
"HORSES!" Okay that was one hell of a payoff LOL
This series was fantastic I feel for every character and those battles at the end oof my heart couldn't take the tension
This series was incredible! Andy was a fantastic Marshall and created villains you loved to watch AND love to watch fail.
Couldn’t have wrapped up more perfectly. Honestly it’s been a treat to see Andy basically in his element GMing this campaign.
Really enjoyed how everyone got into character. Luke as Delacy is something to behold.
Hope to see more Oxventure in the Deadlands space. Even with as much as I love Andy GMing, I also wouldn’t mind seeing him as a player as well.
This whole series was brilliant! Everyone's characters were so engaging and Andy was great at playing such a wide range of antagonists. Would love to see more.
Johnny's excitement at the sudden clap of thunder is lovely.
And looks like we're set up for a Season 2 of Deadlands if Andy wants to run one, which I wouldn't say no to (Of course, I wouldn't say no to seasons in other systems)
Finale?
I hope it's just a "season finale" and that we get more seasons.
This has been excellent so far.
That was glorious! Outstanding job everyone: editors and players, but especially Andy- the story and world building was just out of this world:)
I really hope we'll get to see a Season 2 at one point!
This was a great series,Andy did a brilliant job. Season 2 would be nice to see.Nate and Delacey are too good of characters to let go just yet.
This whole series have been fantastic! Andy is a fanatic DM and the charaters have been well developped and great! I hope there will be another series!
I was genuinely so worried about Nate and Delacy OMG
It is hilarious how far we have come with the Oxventure crew, we go from Andy not really knowing about games like D&D (Spicy Rat Caper) and now Andy almost perma-kill his players, novice to Hard-core
what an amazing finale. loved the reveal of what Victoria really was, suspected something was up with her from the moment she asked for rings. was not expecting the Reliquary from the first episode to make a come back, what if they didn't steal it and chose another item.
loved how everyone had there mini boss encounter for a lack of a better term and it was amazing to see them all come together for the final battle. well done to everyone and i really hope there is another season of this at a later date.
Old school profile pic. Noice.
That story reveal is perfection. I didn't see it coming, but it makes so much sense! Brilliant job, Andy!
We need an OXShort of 1:17:52
"Oh no, wait, oh, 'cause of the f... oh God! Oh no... Okay 😊 It's all fine! Sorry 😅"
"What a journey!"
"It was a real roller coaster!"
That was incredible. Well done to all involved... amazing story, great characters, music, setting... and incredible GM'ing from Andy... i think Bellows may be the best villain voice we've seen
Luke: I can act as a bank
Me: I hope there isn't a lake nearby...
Man, this last episode really highlights Andy's ability to create memorable and distinct voices. When he said "Silas Flint, I'm callin you out," I thought "Benjamin Bellows is back!"
Would anyone else like to see Andy purely play the big bad in a future game series? Created some top notch characters and would be great to see how far it could go sometime
13:10 As someone who has lived in West Texas, if that tumbleweed didn't shatter into 1,000 pieces upon being kicked, it must be some kind of supernatural
Fallout New Vegas Tumbleweeds bro. You say you are from the west, but I ain't see no fukin big iron on YOUR hip yella belly. My character has a native hatchet on them and daggers, and I styled them up to be Connor from AC3 for that hunter stealth feel.
A wonderful series and a great finale, full of twists. Thanks everyone for all the fun characters, who I hope we'll see again some day (soon?). And a special thanks to Marshal Andy for the great story. For a first time DM, you crushed it!
I just have to say, Ellen's response to 'enemy is shaken', as 'but not stirred', I've been waiting for the entire campaign.
Just finished this (six months late, I know) and just wanted to say how amazing this was. I'd love to see more Deadlands in future!
Let's all hope andy doesn't have a ace up his sleeve
Andy most definitely has an ace up his sleeve.
andy sleeves are made of aces
Andy: holds up a deck of aces
Everyone: *starts sweating profusely*
This was such a delight! Thank you all for playing.
Andy did a phenomenal job GMing with Deadlands. Loving the grittier storytelling but still with all the great Oxventure Team humour. Amazing work from everyone.
More Deadlands and more fantastic guests please!
Was not expecting the horse thing to pay off, Andy is good at this.
Great job by Andy! It was a real nail-biter till the very end!
I must say that this is among, if not, THE best campaign done yet. And I'm including more than just this channel in that statement. The outfits, the roleplay, and the atmosphere were all beyond amazing!
Andy,
Thanks so much for these sessions. Royally enjoyed the game play, wardrobe changes, music and sound effects. Hope to see you pick it up again sometime down the line with a new adventure. Everyone's costumes were spot on, with special appreciation for Luke _absolutely nailing_ The Kid's look from the game book. =)
This entire series was great, but this finale is absolutely epic. So incredibly tense and exciting. I absolutely wonder, though, whether Andy had a plan if they looked at each other and said, "End the world? COOL."
Shame they didn't realize "So we can take these rings and have phenomenal power but not end the world, right? After all, that's why Victoria wanted us to kill the folk who had these rings in the first place."
@@Reedstilt Or even as one of them said when she put on all the rings, "Why didn't we say yes, get the rings, and then say we'd changed our minds..."
I think it's wise, though; who knows what sort of curse is put on those things. Accepting the power might make you evil, automatically (even if not committed to destroying the world).
@@GriffinWolf I feel sure Andy had a backup plan for if they'd accepted the rings and then changed their minds. That said, I think he knows them well enough that he figured they'd refuse anyway.
You all have outdone yourselves in this story. Loved every moment throughout the series. Well done, all of you. I'm hoping this isn't the end of the cast. Feels like there are more adventures in the offing!
Thank you, Andy, for keeping us guessing. You were having fun as DM, as well as being the sharp-dressed sheriff! Can't wait to see what you have next for DM duties. 👏 👏 👏
Thank you all. Still subscribed. And, Happy 6th D&D-versary! Looking forward to the celebrations and the Halloween fun this year!
15 minutes in & I find myself instinctively looking around for Binbag. Love it! An absolutely fantastic finish! Well done everyone & mad props to Andy for the marvelous Marshalling. Oh, and Andy, buddy... I *need* that coat. Gimme!
I have watched this series a few times, and I have to say this is a masterclass in storytelling. It reminds me of some of my favorite DND sessions with my old group. I do need to say thank you all and never stop having fun with this. I know that no group last forever, but do last for a while.
Everytime i think you just cannot get any better at this, you just do and its amazing. It was a real pleasure to watch it. Andy is a great DM (Deadland Master), and everyone else made some realy great characters i would like to see more of. I hope for season two (and also can someone finely make an animated series out of one of their TTRPG campaigns please? They are already more cinematic (even without animation) and exciting them most of what ive seen made into series so far!).
Andy, you devil- what a great twist! I suspected Miss Victoria was hiding something but yeah- way to go! Great, great experience from all of you- this has been fantastic! Till next time...
All good things must come to an end they say
I've loved this whole series to bits, and my goodness Nate and Delacey's interactions were truly very emotional and heartwarming! And can I just say - the music in that final fight - DAMN! That sounded incredible!
Ah man, this whole series has been phenomenal and that finale was perfect
this was an incredible series, I love Oxventure but this game offers such a different RP experience and the mechanics really make for some entertaining moments! I don't know how this lot manage it every time but I really invested in every character - even Andy's bad guys. PLEASE do more of this soon!
i hope this is just the finale to this arc, more seasons are needed
Andy has been such a good GM, every encounter was filled with such twists and tricks. Also, this is the best outfit of the lot. Love the texture of the jacket and the way the hat throws a shadow over his eyes. Appropriate for a mysterious and dangerous marshal.
So....season two next year? Please??
Everyone's performances through the whole season were brilliant and Andy was an excellent GM, it feels like there are more stories to tell...
I expected Silas to taunt back with: "Didnt do a great job, they're all in there."
A truly magnificent series. Well done all. I had goosebumps at the end! Loved all the episodes and characters and especially enjoyed Andy’s marshalling. Really hope this comes back as it was a triumph!
That was one hell of an advetnure. Every single one of them was absolutely great, and I cant wait to see what will come next.
I'm always pleased when Andy dons the Stalker hat. It's the best hat. What a glorious series. Enjoyed every moment. Wonderful characters, epic storytelling, all around lovely.
I imagine this whole thing started when the others discovered Andy buying a whole wardrobe full of cowboy clothes. "Wow, Andy, you really want to play Deadlands!" ~ "I want to play whatnow?"
I like Mike's hat.
So glad I was here live for this! Such a great finale, and the whole series has been awesome. Andy's marshalling, all the players, and the sound editing really added that extra touch. I really hope we get a new season, but until then I'm rewatching all the other episodes.
I hear 🎶Viga roll, viga roll, viiiigaaaaa roooolllllll 🎶 to the tune of Figaro in my head.
23:07 Except Pestilence was not really a horseman of the apocalypse. The four horseman are Conquest, War, Death and Famine. The Rider of the White horse was conquest with a bow and a crown, War rode a red horse with a great sword, Famine a black horse carrying scales, and the pale horseman was Death. Death was the only horseman explicitly given a name, Thanatos and doesn't carry anything however Hades trails behind him. If Victoria was meant to be conquest she certainly wouldn't be the last horseman but the first horseman. Pestilence sometimes replaces Conquest, but that's purely due to translation differences they're the same entity.
I loved the Delacy character! Wish I could see more of em.
OMG, just omg! This whole series has just been one huge wild ride. I laughed, I cried, and I was utterly terrified. Everyone was just simply amazing. Andy weaved together such a great story. The roleplaying was on point. This finale was more than I could ever imagine. I'm kinda sad that it is over.
That was amazing, you all did so so well, but Andy has to be lauded for his stellar work as marshal.
Brilliant stuff guys! Andy you smashed it! More of this please!!
What a brilliant ending and a hell of a twist, thanks to the Oxventure crew and Jasper for a fine series. Hoping for more seasons of Deadlands and Blades, sure the OG Oxventure is king but I love seeing the players embody new characters too.
Honestly... they could retire D&D and pick Blades and Deadlands back up, maybe alternating episodes, and I'd be more than okay with it. We know that magic is coming back to G'eth in Blades anyway, so the characters might be able to be brought forward. Time shenanigans, or something.
Very well done, Andy, Victoria's identity was a twist I didn't see coming after all. This was a great adventure and I wouldn't mind seeing more of the Weird West from you fine folks. :D
'What manner of creature is this made from?'
'Yes!'
Now announce Season 2 already!
After seeing Andys amazing spooky story telling and knowing he has the skills from his short stories, I'd live to see him dm Call Of Cthulu games
cant wait!!!!
Holy shitt.. we all predicted that Victoria is very SUS from the beginning..
this is a GREAT bedtime stories
Andy is such a talented GM, he made that combat feel genuinely scary! I honestly thought we were going to see character deaths at several points
The iconic tumbleweeds from western films were not in the American southwest during the late nineteenth century. They were actually introduced by immigrants from the Eurasian plains.
Just adding a comment specifically about Edie's sawed off Winchester rifle. I'm glad the game actually gives it a -1 to damage rolls. I asked my dad about it and it makes sense. Rifles are meant to be accurate, so sawing off much of the barrel and the stock would make it a lot less accurate. Sawed off shotguns are fine, because it's a shotgun. It's meant to have a shorter range anyway and shotguns don't rely on accuracy all that much. 00 Buckshot is going to go through whatever you shoot and whatever is behind whatever you just shot; birdshot is less effective with the smaller pellets, but the impact is still there. You don't want a shorter rifle like the Mare's Leg. Anyway, I'm glad the game at least somewhat factored that into the damage rolls by lowering the damage, even if it's just by a single point of damage.
Hehe. 50 feet of bovine rope
Deadlands was the first game I ever GM'd and I was beyond pleased to see you tackle it. I would love to see more.
That said, there are a lot of very good systems out there and I would also love to see your take on them.
This has been a phenomenal series! Please do a season 2 🙏❤
My prediction before I watch: Victoria gives them their money, thanks them, there is no twist and it's the end. Then the screen is blank for an hour and a half.
