Hey! This is from a scenario book that my dad worked on(The things we leave behind!). I love this scenario and sent this video to my dad who likely shared it with this scenarios creator Brian Sammons. If you want one by him try Ladybug Ladybug Fly Away Home! Its the scenario right before this one in the book or try Fear's Sharp little needles a scenario book written with many of the same contributors thats stupendous!
After watching this, I bought the book and ran this game. It's so good. My first time running Call of Cthulhu and my god. It's so good. Read through the other adventures and I think Ladybug will be the next one I do. It's so well done.
sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday: pain suffering torment this universe is so cruel and unforgiving saturday: omg new mystery quest episode yayyyy
What a star-studded cast. A Comedy genius, a vision of absolute beauty, a source of sagely wisdom, and a role-play legend. And I guess Trott, Lydia, Lewis and Mark are okay too...
I love how Lewis' first reaction at hearing their characters were involved in a supernatural mysteries show was wry amusement and then just fully commited to his character
Hulmes is a fucking gem. I love how he just leans into whatever character or role is handed to him. Unafraid to fuck something up, confident that everything will either work out alright, or at least be entertaining if not. So glad to see him as a recurring player.
Truly great Lovecraft horror captures the feeling of brushing up against something inconceivably vast, like being surrounded by the ocean in the night and feeling incalculable mountains of water swell and sink underneath you. It's that reminder that, at any moment and without warning, you could be utterly destroyed, or worse, irreparably damaged by something entirely outside your control or comprehension. This episode has already captured that feeling perfectly by subjecting the players to the US healthcare system.
I thought it would be a while before the next Call of Cthulhu since we only just got The Saturnine Chalice, I am positively thrilled!! I've loved all the games on here so far, but Call of Cthulhu will always be my favorite with the era and eerie themes. Not to mention the awesome recurring characters. The modern setting on this one was unexpected but a fun twist that kept it fresh after having binged The Saturnine Chalice recently.
Hat Films AND Mystery Quest in the same video?? #SpookMeUpDaddy I've complimented the sound design on this channel before, and yet again they killed it. I might be reading too much into the ominous music that kicked in and lack of "you remember nothing" from Tom when introducing Lewis's character, but I'm pretty sus of him
Are you kidding me, I thought to myself that I found a fun scenario for my group with Forget Me Not. But it seems I now have to change it as I know they also watch Mystery Quest. But great episode as always.
Tom makes a good DM. I like how he can keep the story moving. He knows when to stop a story line that has driven into the ditch. He is part of why I watch. I have always like Simon and am warming up to Lydia's role playing.
I can't believe there was finally a major car crash in one of these campaigns and Lydia wasn't the cause. I guess she really does drive better after she's had a few!
You’re home alone. At least… you thought so. You’re glad you froze when you heard the floorboard creak. Maybe whoever is there didn’t notice that you heard them. The video on your laptop is still playing. Loud enough to cover the sounds of panic, but quiet enough to have heard the floor. Suddenly, the video ends, and the screen is black. Seeing the reflection, you’re now sure that there’s someone behind you. Are you going to fall victim to a home intruder… Or are you on A MYSTERY QUEST!
I was going to be upset about the lack of Simon, but the appearance of Trott changed that. I love that man. And it's fascinating to see some Cthulhu stuff taking place in a modern time with phones and technology, looking forward to seeing how this one goes. #SpookMeUpDaddy
@@Marwolaeth01 really? you've not watched the MORK BORG yet? what're you still doin here, get on it! The Duke and, fkn... Jingly John are some of the best stuff to come out of this channel.
Trott! I hope this means we get Smith and Ross at some point. Especially Ross. He is absolutely unhinged when it comes to roleplay (and in general), even by Hat Films standards.
Man this intro episode! What a hook! Love to see cthulhu modern - and with a scenario where yeah ofc the characters can call the police and use google maps without it breaking the plot, excited to see where this one goes. #SpookMeUpDaddy
I think Lydia's been in every single one so far; I consider her the co-host at this point. A lot of the CoC feels like an extension of "Spookies with Simon/Lydia"
Such a brilliant angle to writing a campaign. Tom brought his A game here.I love this channel, and I think what helps the most is the very average amount of fucking around. If you told me 10 years ago that the Yogscast would sit down one day and seriously embrace roleplay instead of joking around nonstop I would have called you a liar. I could actually do with a slight increase in fucking around.
Wasn't expecting more call of cthulu so soon but very excited for a new campaign. Looking forward to seeing more of Mark's eternal DM energy coming out
I absolutely love these apart from the amazing players and game master all the editing and design is great. this is an absolute treat that I am very happy to get. thanks to all involved
Look. I love variation. Spice of life. It's great to learn about the systems. It makes for fun stories and dynamics. But I could take CoC all day, all year round, Tom.
Same. xD The amount they kept highlighting and coming back to the gun was so funny to me. I wouldn't have batted an eye at it, and they couldn't believe that this American had a gun.
They started freaking out about one of the dudes having a gun and I was like “ah, you can tell they’re not Americans if they’re that freaked out about a gun”. And then he said they were all from California and I was like “Oh nevermind, checks out.”
Oh no, this scenario is from The Things We Leave Behind? I own a copy of Fear's Sharp Little Needles, the other anthology book made by this group, and... Hoo boy, the co-author of one of the grosser scenarios made this one, so I'm excited. #SpookMeUpDaddy
See, this situation right here is why the government has the ability to track your phone. So if you're ever lost with your phone and you call 911 they can find you and they don't have to rely on "I'm in um, some corn field..."
Yeah! Specifically, it's not the government but the telecommunications operator (e.g. AT&T, BT, Three, etc) who relay emergency calls to the national emergency services center in your country, automatically attaching a reference of which cell tower you're connected to and the rough location estimate based on triangulation. It's pretty cool technology! (Of course, governments can tap into that upon requesting operators to also forward the info for specific customers to the gov, under what is referred to as "Lawful Interception")
Woop woop Mystery time, I'm really loving this rolling cast and glad to see Tom getting such a variety of guests for these games, each and every one an absolute banger and many have pleasantly surprised me.
not gonna lie, with a title like "Forget Me Not", I thought it'd be a continuation of Lydia's previous character, and her over the game re-learning Dickie's dead. But this is great too!
When Lewis said "I'm in my early forties" I was expecting someone to say "but what about your character?"
Simon is my favorite guest
I thought he was 69 years old
Same with when Tom asked Lydia what she looked like, if Siomon where here he'd make a joke of it 😂
Well Lewis *is* in his early forties, so the joke wouldn't have worked, usually they'd make the joke if it was 50s or 60s.

Hits too true
Saturday what a day bring these quests to you
Saturday: spook me up daddy
Petition to have a shirt design of Tom's face spookified with a bunch of spooky stuff from all the MQs so far, and "MYSTERY QUEST - #SpookMeUpDaddy"
Thank you for playing one of our scenarios! We're very proud of it.

Stephanie (owner of Stygian Fox)
It's an amazing scenario, thanks for you and your team's work. Excited to run Ladybug soon for my players

I'm so glad Trott is in one of these vids. Spook me up daddy!

Love seeing Mark back! His Mork Borg run is still my all-time favorite performance so eager to see him go full on Cthulhu. 😊
12:46 Trott's voice reveal was amazing
His voice was amazing indeed!
Are you kidding me, I thought to myself that I found a fun scenario for my group with Forget Me Not. But it seems I now have to change it as I know they also watch Mystery Quest. But great episode as always.
I'm sorry friend. But the whole book has amazing scenarios
Tom's Call of Cthulhu games always brings me such delight #spoopmeupdaddy
I like how they all automatically use hardboiled 1920s american detective voices whatever the scenario
Tom makes a good DM. I like how he can keep the story moving. He knows when to stop a story line that has driven into the ditch. He is part of why I watch. I have always like Simon and am warming up to Lydia's role playing.
Proof that no matter what the game, Trott should not be allowed to drive the car. #spookmeupdaddy
I love seeing both Hulmes and Trott in this. I feel like there's a niche of TTRPGs with those two plus Tom that has thus far been left empty.
I can't believe there was finally a major car crash in one of these campaigns and Lydia wasn't the cause. I guess she really does drive better after she's had a few!
lol... I would expect "911 dispatch, what's the nature of your emergency", but those incredibly chill 911 operators were an unexpected treat
I look forward to the cool intros, they're always so much fun!

ha HA!
Don't have Tom's ideas before him! Otherwise we will soon run out of original-clichè intros!
@@DEthan-there’s literally infinite. You just need to find an interesting situation where something is about to probably happen.
Honestly, genuinely a bit scary. I’ve been in many a situation like that, although without the actual home invader being behind me thankfully.
Most unrealistic part of all the RP was the American agreeing to an ambulance being called
lolll
Or them all reacting to a gun like a bunch of brits would… y do u have a gun!? Erm.. the 2nd amendment? 😅
@@magiclakey19 "Why do you have a gun??"

I like to think Tom has a little red book of all these intros to the start of Mystery Quests. I love the intro hooks so much #SpookMeUpDaddy
Lewis and Mark are essentials. That lego haired guy is pretty good too

Bongo the Clown is way less chill than Bongo the Dog.
#SpookMeUpDaddy
I love when you all play Cuthulhu and Mothership - I listen to just about everything you do, but those are my favorites.
Happy to see mark back on here!
Ditto, I think this is my first time seeing him not as DM so my curiosity peaked.
@@Marwolaeth01 really? you've not watched the MORK BORG yet? what're you still doin here, get on it! The Duke and, fkn... Jingly John are some of the best stuff to come out of this channel.
Surprised nobody asked if Lewis' gun was loaded, or had rounds missing.
They're British they dont know how guns work. The groups collected instinct was to get rid of the gun.
Not really a thought process we have in England!
I'm German and we have strict gun laws, still my first thought's were check the ammunition count and if it's real or blanks
Mark, Trott, Lyds and Lewis is another dream cast!
Trott! I hope this means we get Smith and Ross at some point. Especially Ross. He is absolutely unhinged when it comes to roleplay (and in general), even by Hat Films standards.

By this rate Lydia's going to be a standard guest. Definitely not complaining lol.
Also: #SpookMeUpDaddy! 🤣
"So, I think we can move this along..."
"Before we go, one more thing..."
Been there so many times. 😂
Thats right my friends, if you cant afford US medical care, you probly cant even afford the insurance itself that's supposed to cover it lmfao.

Call of Cthulhu with Tom, Lewis, Trott, Mark and Lydia?!? You lot spoil me! It's like my birthday came early. Thank you!!!
We need all of the hats in one of these... maybe big lyds as the 4th.
TBF Lewis, Lydia or Humes would be brilliant

The only voice in any way convincingly America in Chris Yeeehaw Trott #spookmeupdaddy
Trott´s rocking that beautiful sweater! So cool!
I read a list of the creepiest and most disturbing CoC scenarios, and remember this listed as the top one. Looking forward to plenty of squick!
Loving mark in these mystery quest play throughs
I’ve gone from tracks super chill to this and it’s amazing.
Love the setup, can't wait to see where this is going! #SpookMeUpDaddy
From watching Tom in Chaotic Neutral, to watching Dino Island with Sully and Laurie to now watching my second Mystery Quest 🤩
I hate the fact that I found this channel so early because I just want to binge like 30 series of this.
Ouughhh this is already such an intriguing start to the series, so excited for the rest 👀
I like to think these characters are decedents of the other era characters, and their families are cursed to face the supernatural for generations.
Love seeing Mark as a player. Hope he appears in more games in the future!
I absolutely love these apart from the amazing players and game master all the editing and design is great. this is an absolute treat that I am very happy to get. thanks to all involved

Lyds is a strong requirement, love everyone rotating though haha
Love this series rewatching it now, much love from Sweden
Just wanted to say I'd kill for some more mothership, or some ww1 era CoC featuring one Richard Grizwald

Fack yeah! More Call of Cthulhu from Mystery Quest. I can't get enough of this!
I think it's so crazy that they all said, "Why do you have a gun?" You're in America. Everybody's got a gun.
Same. xD The amount they kept highlighting and coming back to the gun was so funny to me. I wouldn't have batted an eye at it, and they couldn't believe that this American had a gun.
Everyone and their mom's packing around here
Some places over there they can't even have a box cutter or knives on them so of course a carried gun would be weird to them. Was funny though.
Really enjoying all the mystery quest content! Love this group of players in particular, cant wait for more
Very enjoyable. Intrigued by Modern day setting and love the characters with their amnesia!
Wow, this combo of players looks like a winner. Super stoked for this one!

Wow what a cast for this game, can't get enough!
Trott is easily a top four member of Hat Films for me.
Call of Cthulhu and Your Name Is John will always be in my heart.
Forget me not is one of the best modules I've read, I'm really looking forward to this one
