I've visited Guatemala twice and thoroughly enjoyed my visits. I've been to roughly 75 countries and Guatemala is in my top 5 for the reasons you've showed in your videos : )
Wow, another amazing video. These videos have made me want to visit Guatemala. I was at a dinner party yesterday talking to friends about your videos and these beautiful countries that no one speaks of. Guatemala is on my bucket list and I cant wait to see El Salvador. I live in Los Angeles, come from Mexican parents, have known Guatemalan and Salvadorean people my whole life. Its such a shame that Ive never heard anyone mention the beauty of these places. I was going to plan a trip to Thailand (Ive been twice), but this may be something completely new and closer for me to explore. Thank you for opening this up to the world.
I love living vicariously through you guys. And no bug bites or blood sucking flies. I'm 70 and my body just couldn't or would say no I ain't. I love your beautiful complementary to each other selves. Go with love. And keep jumping for us who can't or won't.
I first visited Guatemala back in the 1990's and fell in love with the country and people. Tikal was a special experience, especially because I took a night hike in the jungle with a ranger and saw the animals and critters that come out a night, like huge tarantulas. I actually camped in Tikal in small wood sheds in the national park. I wonder if those camping sheds are still available.
You are right. This site ranks up there as one of the best in the world. I personally think it should be a wonder of the world along with Angkor Wat. I mean how do those get left out, right? Glad you had a great time. There is another smaller temple complex that's even more emerged into the rainforest called Yaxha. If you get a chance check it out. Enjoy!
I went here In February and loved it. Flores was beautiful and Tikal was outstanding. The nature alongside the temples was mesmerising- listening to the monkeys and woodpeckers- we loved it!
Ek Balam was my favourite Mayan archeological site. Not too far from Chichen Itza. And you’re still permitted to climb the temples. Also as Carol had mentioned the well preserved head carving, there are many such carvings throughout and in excellent states of preservation. A must see. Thank you both for your great work
Hello Chris and Carol, thank you so much for your beautiful trip in Guatemala, island of Flores . It’s awesome❤❤❤❤❤❤. Wow the girl and dogs walked on water….miracle😂😂😂😂😂
Local Petenero here, the Tikal national park is more than just ruins, it is a wildlife ecosystem because it is in the Mayan biosphere, they could also go to Yaxha which is a smaller park but with less people or go to "Arcas" which is an animal shelter for our ecosystem
its incredible that Guatemala has so many pyramids (and a lot unexcavated). I wonder why they don't attract more tourists like Mexico. Thanks for the video! 🎉
Thank you 🙏 so very much for your kind comments about Guatemala. Sadly Guate is so underrated, but in my heart Guatemala is number one! Enjoy Guate amigos, I recommend visiting Quiroga, where you will see the tallest estela in the world. Blessings and enjoy.
🙂💙👍Thank You Chris & Carol for Another Amazing Adventure you can just imagine what Civilization would have been like back then. And the man power it would have taken to build those massive structors without modern machinery. 🙂💗👍Wishing You Safe Travels from Canada👍
Was in Flores february 2024. Just loved it. Went to the viewpoint too. It was well worth it. A few dogs so I had a stick too. The west side of the island was flooded during my visit too, but not as much as I can see in this video. Tikal and Angkor Wat is at the top for me. It gives you chills.
@@JumpingPlaces Yes, I visited Petra in the end of 2010. Amazing too. Went to Teotihuacán too last february. Chichén Itzá in 2022 along with Coba and Uxmal. One of the places I haven't been to is Palenque. Seems really good too.
Hello Chris and Carol. My husband and I are always excited to see your travels as well as the information you share with us:)) Thanks to you it’s easy for us to decide our vacation destinations 😊 Carol, I love your kind personality…… also, can you share with us the brand of your sunglasses please. They look beautiful on you:)))) Thank you
So glad to hear that you two enjoy our videos! Thank you 🥰 My sunglasses are from Calvin Klein but they’re probably an older model. I bought them in Europe on a duty free sale but haven’t seen the same model anywhere else.
@ thank you Carol. We are always looking forward to see you two exploring and sharing your experiences with us :) Sending lots of love and best wishes for the Holidays .
Great video!! I visited Tikal in 2007 and loved it. Also really enjoyed Mayan sites in Copan Honduras and Lamanai Belize. Looking forward to your El Salvador video!
Central America is my favorite part of the world. The natural beauty, wildlife, pristine beaches and affordability are ideal for North Americans. While i haven't been to Guatemala, it is on the bucket list. That's for showing the beauty of the country.
I visited Tikal about 10 years ago. It is absolutely the greatest of the known Myan ruins. It's at least an all-day adventure. Arrive at sun up, bring breakfast (eat at the top of a pyramid). Hollar monkeys were screaming the entire time. Lots of spider monkeys, too. Much better access than other Myan sites we've visited. We almost skipped Guatemala, based on the U.S. State Dept warnings. The people we interacted with in Peten were super friendly. Order tepezcuintle at a local restaurant. It's delicious.

Guatemala is gorgeous and has a lot to offer (based on your videos along with other sites I have researched), but Mexico is much larger and has so many other sites to visit and experience. I guess it depends what your criteria is for "betterness". Guatemala may be less touristy, but at the same times it's probably that way, because it's not as developed as Mexico in terms of infrastructure, services and its tourism sector. Guatemala still seems like the entire country is "developing", while Mexico has many areas that are very modernized in many aspects. So Mexico is probably better for people who don't want to get too much out of their comfort zone. But honestly, after seeing the Yucatan and Panama City, Guatemala doesn't interest me as much as it did before. You even said yourself, it's similar to Mexico in many aspects. But $33.00 for a room like THAT in Guatemala seems steep to me.
Unfortunately I didn’t feel safe in some areas like Delhi 😕 Other parts of the country like Kerala and Goa were different and I felt safe 90% of the time but unfortunately I had a bad experience in Delhi. If you’re going to Delhi, please AVOID a place called Paharganj.
