I've lived in Orlando, Florida, for 31 years. I have never even thought about going on a cruise. There are other nurses who can't get enough of them. They think that I should try one. We have a 50-foot sailboat and are currently in the St. Augustine marina. There was an opening ceremony of the "Night of Lights" last night. ✨️ The historic district was so busy that we had difficulty walking with our dogs. Our American Eskimo puppy is only 9 months old, and he hated children touching him without permission. We didn't drink nor were here to party. I watched this out of morbid curiosity because back in 2012 my partner and I fell properly in love on a 1 week cruise in the Mediterranean on that ship when she was Costa Classica. We still talk about it today, many holidays later. The weather was clear, the ship was immaculate and only about 1/4 full. I remember us spending hours at night together up on the deck drifting quietly through the still water. It saddens me that she is now a crappy party ship with a ridiculous name, but I guess I’m glad she’s still in service and giving some people a good time at least. Many of these smaller old cruise ships were scrapped in the pandemic.
This is not considered a real "cruise ship," this is a "drinking, party boat." Best comment by @cruisepryor. But you know you get what you pay for, right? So why should this be different, cruise or not. However, if I was living very close to the port then I would hop onto these cruises for a getaway: It is the sky, the blue sea, the salty breeze, the fresh air that matter to me more than some stains around a pool which I'd be happy to make my low priority. BTW, I do have my share of cruises: Transatlantic, Alaska, Panama Canal and of course several caribbean cruises on the more well known cruise lines but I will definitely try this one day. I have also done several Casino cruises from the Myrtle Beach area in South Carolina and loved those too--I don't gamble much though.
That’s one of the most shocking aspects of this cruise imo. Thanks Tim, another fabulous video, I’ve only ever been on one cruise which was to Norway, and it was awesome. To anyone who hasn’t been on a cruise before and considering it , don’t let this type of cruise put you off! 😀
Wow. My wife works for Regent Seven seas so I've only known high end cruising. This was a real eye opener. Regent is expensive but then with literally everything inclusive it doesn't actually work out that much more per day and it's almost literally infinitely better. Go for a cruise on the Regent Grandeur or the Splendor, I think you deserve it after that!
Thanks for the video Tim. If my wife and I ever do a cruise the Margaritaville At Sea Paradise will not be the one for us. I would want to be paid to go on that ship.
Always wondered about these. It would have been good to describe what Margaritaville is to the UK users who probably haven’t heard about it or the concept. It’s basically a party cruise like the hotels are party hotels. The reason Jimmy Buffett is everywhere is because it’s his company based on his song - Margaritaville.
I was absolutely shocked!! You are so nice to say some of the places on the ship were okay. The best places were bad and the other places were atrocious!! No one should go on this floating dump. At least they let you off quickly.
Well that was an experience ! I can see it’s passable for a cheap short break , if you don’t look to closely , but nothing would make me want to spend even one nights there . Two nights would make me grab the life jacket and find the lowest place I could jump from .
Cheap and cheerful cruise ship I guess. I found this part 4:18 rather amusing, it was as if a prison warden was telling newly arrived inmates the dos and don'ts. I suspect their are worse cruise ships than this one.
Cheap and cheerful!!!!!! You have got to be kidding…cheap is being far too generous…and if cheerful is another word for disgusting, then I guess that’s correct!! I’d like someone to explain to me why they would pay …on purpose…to travel on a dirty, tacky ship for any amount of time…if you have any self-respect at all, you wouldn’t get near it!!
Oh, no! This is Tim's FIRST cruise?! Happy it didn't spoil future cruise potentials!! The man has been on two static once luxurious Queens and now.......well. At least he 'as the deep sea, open ocean part down. I have seen a good handful of videos of this particular cruise. But Tim's take just hits well detailed. Smart casual describes it right.
For those of us who are regular cruisers, we would be jumping off that boat and desperately swimming back to shore...what a horrible heap. PLEASE take a cruise with ANY other cruise line...nothing will be worse than this☹️
Tim! I used to work on a cruise ship. My cabin was at the front of the ship at ocean level. I would hear every smashing wave against my cabin wall. Amazingly I was able to get sleep. Too wild
I love how frank and truthful you are. There is no reason for this wear and tear shut it down and remodel it. The room didnt look to bad at least it was roomy. I could handle that compared to many other rooms. The noise, I would want to blow my head off. Talk about an empty ship nothing looked busy. Thanks for the trip and not hanks I am not going on it even if you invite me:)
Great video Tim! Would highly recommend going on a longer cruise 7days+ with the family and getting a proper feel for what a cruise is like. We've gone with P&O twice and loved it both times
They're paid way less than you might think, to avoid paying taxes and fair wages. These cruise line's base their business in the Bahamas or other Caribbean islands to avoid taxes.
Choosing this cruise as your first ever cruise.... It's a brave choice. I used to do this cruise route and the Long Beach to Ensenada cruise as party cruises in my 20s. You'd have to pay me A LOT to go on one again.
I almost took a "free" cruise on this ship since I was a healthcare worker during COVID and they were offering it, but I decided to look at some of the reviews/videos of other people's trips.. and I absolutely passed on it. It reminded me of a sketchy roadside motel in a forgotten town off of an old highway. I'd rather pay for a cruise that I didn't fear would give me hepatitis somehow. Great video though, thanks for taking one for the team lol
This cruise reminded me of Brighton Pier or one of those Blackpool pleasure domes; gaudy, cheap and cheerful. Conga by the pool and all that enforced fun is my idea of hell. Please do a luxury cruise next. Would be amazing to see a fair comparison.
As a cruise agent, I have been asked by several clients to tell them about this cruise. I have not experienced this cruise, so I have never felt like I could give them an answer, SO I booked a cruise on this very ship. I will see come April 2025. I elected to book it just for myself so that I could give an unbiased review with no one else trying to change my mind about how I feel. After viewing this, I am not sure I feel safe on this trip. Wish me luck!
For your next cruise ship experience, I HIGHLY recommend Royal Caribbean on one of their larger Oasis class ships. Find a room midships. What I mean is choose a room in the middle of the ship compared to the forward or aft. You’ll avoid the extra noise of crew and engines. I’ve been on several of their sailings on 3 different ships, big, small, and mid-size, and I have yet to have a bad experience!
You should do a collab with Emma Cruises. You pick a nice hotel for her to visit and she chooses a cruise for you. After that, you each post your video on each other's channel.
Wow, this cruise looks like an anxiety filled 2 days at Sea-I worried the first 5 to 10 minutes of your video/-Hehehe Happy Early Bday Tim I didn’t forget because I remembered your birthday is the day after mine. I’m also in December.
"This is my first cruise". On Margaritaville? Woah boy... you can only go up from there. Frequent cruiser here, that cruise line is the bottom of the barrel. If Carnival has the nickname of "Walmart Of The Seas", Margaritaville is more like "Dollar General" (or Poundland) of the seas.
I had to think of a 70's Disco hit, "Psychedelic Shack" (Ball of Confusion). What a nightmare of grunge, neglect, serious overpricing and being constantly yelled at with no means of escape.
Very good insight for a cruise ship. I will remember this as the benchmark for when I ever go on my first cruise. It will help me to chose the right cruise when I do.
I think a lot of UA-camrs have fluffed this cruise line, mostly because they got free accommodations but the reality is that this is a really crappy and overpriced cruise. Your room was nicer than most people's because it was a suite, I have seen some real horror shows of rooms on this ship. I don't think this company is doing enough to earn anyone's business frankly. Thank You for doing an honest review. The tub not working in your room was a perfect example of why they are not doing enough.
Me and my girlfriend watch all your videos. You’re our fav UA-camr. We’ve traveled a ton throughout our lives and we love all your videos. We were just in London. I’m going to send this video to one of my oldest and closest friends who was Jimmy Buffets right hand man. He’s in charge of all the entertainment in the hotel, restaurants and cruises. If you ever find yourself in Orlando let’s do tea or coffee.
I’d love to see you do a luxury cruise, or even just more cruise videos in general. Cruise With Ben and David are a great channel for learning more about different cruises.

Love your "worst rated" trips as soon as the "most luxury" trips too ... that's quite good mix to see both of the side of the mankind. Thank you, I enjoyed very much.
Tim's Hollister branding was on point !
Lady at the start sounds like a drill instructor 😂
So welcoming and warm! 😂
That ship needs to go to the scrapyard.
It should have been scrapped 20 years ago.
Chill, It's Not THAT Bad.
Thanks Tim, another fabulous video, I’ve only ever been on one cruise which was to Norway, and it was awesome. To anyone who hasn’t been on a cruise before and considering it , don’t let this type of cruise put you off! 😀
Glad you enjoyed it , no i know there are better out there lol
You may have lucked out NOT being able to use the jets in that tub. 😂
Seriously. Bunch of gunk would have flew out of them 🤢🤮🤮
Dare I ask what would have come out instead of air?
Thanks for the video Tim. If my wife and I ever do a cruise the Margaritaville At Sea Paradise will not be the one for us. I would want to be paid to go on that ship.
There’s not enough money in the world!
😂😂😂😂😂
Always wondered about these. It would have been good to describe what Margaritaville is to the UK users who probably haven’t heard about it or the concept.
It’s basically a party cruise like the hotels are party hotels.
The reason Jimmy Buffett is everywhere is because it’s his company based on his song - Margaritaville.
I was absolutely shocked!! You are so nice to say some of the places on the ship were okay. The best places were bad and the other places were atrocious!! No one should go on this floating dump. At least they let you off quickly.
Glad you took my suggestion and started doing honest reviews on cruises. A new chapter begins. Safe journey.
Well that was an experience ! I can see it’s passable for a cheap short break , if you don’t look to closely , but nothing would make me want to spend even one nights there . Two nights would make me grab the life jacket and find the lowest place I could jump from .
It's not titanic 😂😂😂
@ 😂😂 😂
Cheap and cheerful cruise ship I guess. I found this part 4:18 rather amusing, it was as if a prison warden was telling newly arrived inmates the dos and don'ts. I suspect their are worse cruise ships than this one.
The ship's that took British criminals to Australia were slightly worse.
Funny I was laughing at that part as I read your comment, that voice with that accent 😄 the least relaxing thing possible for the start of your trip
Yes
Thanks
For those of us who are regular cruisers, we would be jumping off that boat and desperately swimming back to shore...what a horrible heap. PLEASE take a cruise with ANY other cruise line...nothing will be worse than this☹️
Great review Tim. I could seriously never go on that ship. Too many things looked old, dirty and stained. I'd honestly rather stay at home.
It looks like 1990's Butlins if Butlins did ships! 😂😂 Great video as always!
My thoughts exactly 😁
I think a Butlin's cruise would be a little but nicer 😂 Pontins, however ... 😬
😅😅😅@@ukstarlight05
Tip- Never pick a room under a bar nightclub pool casino always look what's one floor above and one for under your room.
Also the middle of the ship is not as rocky but if you're on a large ship it's won't be Rocky at all no matter where.
@@danadarby8961 Very true, the position of the room is more important then the type of room you book.
The thought of getting in that communal hot tub 😱
@@janstroud9192 stuck up as they come you get on with it !
chlamydia cauldron
Think of porridge haha
Human soup
And with hairs swimming everywhere.
I’m going with them next year to the fjords and can’t wait, that will be my first cruise
Very unimpressive ship. The staff struck me as hard working people who are doing their best on this "beautiful ship".
They're paid way less than you might think, to avoid paying taxes and fair wages. These cruise line's base their business in the Bahamas or other Caribbean islands to avoid taxes.
You always book the best rooms you need a reality check 😂
The only time everyone was at the pool was when they forced them to be there 😂 "no sleep cruise" yeah I bet
This is the cruise from hell for me 👿🚢I am glad you did this ,so I don’t have to 😱Thanks for sharing Tim 🤗
I love a good cruise but this looks nasty. Love the video it's like the good old grubby hotel videos.
"About to try grits for the 1st time"
Lol. Tim. That's the 3rd time at least I've seen you "try grits for the first time" 😂😂😂😂😂
Clearly that forgettable.
Grits are meant to be seasoned... Otherwise you're just eating ground up corn which is just blah.
You should do a collab with Emma Cruises. You pick a nice hotel for her to visit and she chooses a cruise for you. After that, you each post your video on each other's channel.
As someone who watches both Tim and Emma religiously, this is a collab I didn’t know I needed!
Don't forget Trek Trendy!
@@pandalindI would love this. I love Emma Cruises.
Tim,that would be a great idea.
Tim has a relaxed edit style. Emma’s edits are far too tight
It's like herding cattle through 😂😂
Tim you are very brave 🤣 & that breakfast offering looked dreadful.
Wow, this cruise looks like an anxiety filled 2 days at Sea-I worried the first 5 to 10 minutes of your video/-Hehehe
Happy Early Bday Tim
I didn’t forget because I remembered your birthday is the day after mine. I’m also in December.
thanks frank
"This is my first cruise". On Margaritaville? Woah boy... you can only go up from there. Frequent cruiser here, that cruise line is the bottom of the barrel. If Carnival has the nickname of "Walmart Of The Seas", Margaritaville is more like "Dollar General" (or Poundland) of the seas.
Hell on water, for 48hrs 🤮
I agree. I can't believe that there are that many people willing to do it.
With INSANE prices
Wow, your first cruise and you decided to do this one. You'll never want to go on another cruse again even the good ones.
Best to make sure you have comprehensive holiday insurance before boarding that ship.
Wee bit of confusion at first but at least everyone's in the same boat 😂
That ship is hanging tim, its like a trailer park at sea 😂😂😂
🤣🤣
Thank you .. for sharing your experience.. I’ll keep cruising on “ The Circle Line” on the Hudson, NYC.
You would definitely need a lot to drink to enjoy this "cruise." 😂 Thank you for enduring this for us Tim and sober too!
Actually, most of the UA-cam reviews that I've seen are scathingly bad---Tim was way too nice here
Me and my girlfriend watch all your videos.
As soon as I saw the intro, I though: My God... it's a floating Brittania Hotel! lol
