    At around 2:30 and there after you seem to be confused about the differences between watts and watt hours. With all due respect I’m only telling you this because you’re doing a good service, with the platform you have, helping people navigate to something better. However, it’s important to understand 1800w has nothing to do with how long a power bank will last. A common analogy about electricity is to think about water flow. If you have a bath tub full of water, the amount of water stored in the tub is your watt hours, the flow, is your watts. If there wasn’t a city water line around and you were using the tub of water to put out a fire. The bigger the fire the more flow you would need. A water gun like stream of water isn’t going to help put the fire out, even though you would be able to use it longer. You need a fire hose sized to drown it out. But the capacity of the water in the tub will depend how long you’re able to keep spraying water. So in the case of the 4patriots 1800w power bank, it’s possible to have a small tub with a large 3” drain. Or small battery pack with a large inverter that can output 1800w. The way it was marketed was completely wrong and takes advantage of ignorant consumers thinking they can power a house hold fridge for hours on end. In reality the 4pat 1800 was just a small power bank to keep your phones, laptops, tablets charged with the ABILITY to power a fridge, if you had to. Everyones refrigerator is different so none of them pull the same output. It really wasn’t even that long ago when the first power banks were coming out. They sized the inverter proportionally to the size of the battery. Many people thought these 300-500w inverters were useless because it came with a 120v plug but you couldn’t power something like a 1200w keurig coffee maker, or a toaster, or a fridge. So I think they were cramming larger inverters with small battery packs so they can market it as easy to carry, powers high drain appliances like coffee makers and fridges. Anyway, if you can’t find the watt hours listed easily in the specs, best bet is to stay away from it. Some other important things to consider when buying a solar generator is how are you going to charge it. Some, not so good ones, don’t let you charge while you’re using the unit to power something, that’s not any good. Some limit the solar charging to under 200w solar. You could run the battery down twice as fast as it takes to fill up. Some power banks come with multiple ways to charge but limit you to only 1 way at a time. I like that ecoflow has an ultra fast charging mode when plugged into ac power. But if your plugged into ac it shuts of dc charging. I have a small 800w propane generator I use to charge it up real quick and I can turn off the propane generator to conserve fuel. However, bluetti appears to come with slow charging speeds, but you can use all the charging outlets to charge from a car, from ac, from solar, and charge through the USB-C port all at the same time and be completely charged in under an hour from completely dead. Everyone has got to research before they buy anything.

      Tony what solar generator do you have and what sizes do they make? I need one where I can charge it while it charging items inside my house. What do you think? Any advice

    • @Tony-sy7ed
      @Tony-sy7ed 5 місяців тому

      Iv held off from getting something more ideal because the technology has been evolving rapidly since this video. I waiting to see where it settles, luckily hurricanes and other power outage events have been pretty calm lately. However i’am looking hard at some offerings from Bluetti. Currently I’m still using 3 different, older, 1800w power banks, and a couple 600w, instead of 1 bigger unit. My thought was if 1 unit failed I have 2 more to keep necessities going. I don’t know what your necessities are but at the very least, if your taking it seriously, I’d be looking at the Bluetti Ac300. It’s a large unit but still manageable to be portable, so you could take it on the road tailgating/camping. You basically buy it in sections because it’s modular. The inverter is a stand alone unit that puts out 3000w continuous and up to 6000w surge. There is no battery inside the inverter so you will need at least 1 b300 battery to use it, you could stack up to 4 batteries for a total of 12,300wh of storage. You could connect 2 sets in parallel to put out 240v. To take it on the road you could disconnect the inverter and 1 battery, leave the other 3 batteries home. The Ac500 would be better putting out 5000w continuous with the same modular stacking design. Up to 18,400wh of power storage if you were to max out the stacking batteries. Both the Ac300 and Ac500 have UPS capability. So you could keep the unit plugged into wall power and the power would bypass the battery and send power to something you never want to power off. Such as a desk top computer so you don’t lose a big report your working on, or you could have piece of mind if you’re on a road trip and you have your refrigerator plugged in to the unit. The house will lose power but you won’t have to rush home to keep your food cold. The Bluetti Ep800 and 900 is a more permanent whole home backup solution. Still modular as you can buy and stack batteries over time so you don’t have to buy 1 big unit now, but it’s not portable. With any of these examples I would size an appropriate ROOF top solar array so your not turning your yard into a mini solar farm.

    Sorry folks to burst your bubble. I have bought 4 of these to power my garage refrigerator, kitchen fridge and appliances, basement freezer, and my office computer system that I cannot do without. Have put in full use when hit with 2 power outages from storms. Both lasted 18 to 24 hours. Held charges. Had it been for longer outgage times, I would easily rotate them for re-charging. I like that they are lighter weight and portable. All I can say is that they worked well for my needs. The Grumpy Old Veteran in MO.

      @@titanpreparedness Yes, I have 3 Patriot 1800 W and 1 Blackfire 1500 W. I bought them separately over the years. I like them because they are portable, can take anywhere I want. They work perfectly. One each designated for freezer, refrigerators, appliances, and office computers/printers, display screens. Cannot do without power even for a day. They are EMP-proof in faraday bags. Could have bought gold, silver, other investments, but portable solar generators are to me worth their weight in whatever you choose. I just had to use these the other day for a dang nuisance local power outage. Hope this helps.

      @titanpreparedness  4 місяці тому

      So im glad that you are more prepared and taking preparedness into your own hands. Havent tried the black fire.
      The purpose of this video isnt to say that the 4 patriots dont work but more so what could you have gotten for the same price. 1 1800 is 2500 and if you are happy with your purchase then awesome but in total thats 7500 spend (maybe they were cheaper a few years ago i dont know) for a total of 300 watts of solar and 2304 whs capicity. 1 eco flow delta 2 max is 1899 (1699 as of today sale) with a 2048 wh capicity. 2 of thes would be $3800 4096 whs (1792 wh more). 110w solar panels Are 400 (299 toadys sale) so 3 of those. $5000 ( 4298 todays sale) would get you almost 1800 more wh over what you currently have with the 3 1800s and would have saved you $2500. Thats the purpose of the video. These units are also very portable and can be moved around the house easily

    Thank you for sharing! I have been searching and researching solar powered generators for a couple of months. I have been seeing 4patriots ads like crazy during that time. I found the same info when comparing them to other systems. So your title is spot on. They are banking that people do not do research, because researchers are the enemy. Frankly, most people don’t. It is the same for everything else, and the companies just line their pockets.

      I can agree know the limits. Thats what i dont like about this one is it overestimates the limits. I know my delta will power a fridge/freezer for about 12 hrs but some how they guess their old unit thats half the size will run one for 20

    You failed to mention the ecoflow does NOT come with the solar pannels needed to power it, that is part of the price difference plus the aded hardware for 1800 watt output also adds to the price difference.
    While the storage capacity is important the output is more important for powering devices and the extra weight comes from larger and heavier components needed to power the output side, not to mention the 4 patriots generator can take upto 240 volt input.
    Someone else doing a test and not maxing the generator out has nothing to do with how it actually preforms. There is actually a lot yuou failed to mention.
    Why is it you feel the need to down play another brand to advertise the one that you have an affiliation with?

    • @titanpreparedness
      @titanpreparedness  6 місяців тому +4

      So few things to mention here. I did in fact talk about the eco flow not coming with a panel when the 4 patriots does.
      Its a 100w monocrystaline non folding panel that they value at $500. You can buy better panels for either unit on amazon for about $200.
      You said output was more important. So you would be correct in saying the 4 patriots can output more vs the eco flow river 2. For this one I was doing strictly battery size comparison both were 768wh.
      If you need that 1800w output then the 4 patriots is better compared to the eco flow delta that has 1800watts of output with 3600 surge and a bigger battery for $900 compared to $2500. It too can take 240v of input and weighs 30lbs compared to the 4 patriots at 40.
      Now you talk about me down playing other brands to promote ones im affiliates with...interesting choice of words. I compared 2 similar products based on specs and one came out above another. Would you rather i be like most and tell you that you should buy a $2500-$3000 product that cant beat the other product that is 1/2 the cost?
      Yes i make money selling ecoflow to viewers but ive also invested my own money buying their products and a lot of my time doing research to find the best dealer for this type of system.
      If your mad because you bought one then thats on you. If you are happy with your 4 patriots, then congratulations. This video was to showcase that there are far better products out there for a fraction of the cost.

    • @titanpreparedness

      The river would power the TV but not the fridge
      The delta 2 would power the fridge and it's only 529 currently.
      The only problem with the delta 2 is size 1kw isn't a lot for the fridge. I have a playlist called ecoflow Fridays where I plugged the delta 1300 to my old fridge it ran for 8-12 hrs so you would get similar results
      If I was you I would get 2 delta 2s or 1 delta 2 max at least

    I have one building that is exclusively powered by solar power, so I have an idea of what solar can and cannot do. My problem with solar for real emergencies is: can anyone guarantee bright sunny weather immediately following a major disaster? You can buy a premium inverter generator for far less than $2500, fill a couple of gas cans, and have several days of power on tap regardless of weather. Use your solar first, then have the genny as an ace up your sleeve if needed. No way I'd invest big bucks in a solar generator before buying a generator first. Just my opinion though!

    • @titanpreparedness
      @titanpreparedness  11 місяців тому +2

      I can agree with that. I have some solar generators because i saw what happened in PR after Hurricane Maria- 1 year without power. The solar stuff would come into play for long term things if you couldnt get fuel but your right 2500 for something that will need recharging daily is a big pill to swallow especially when you could buy a real generator plus a ton of fuel for that price

    Absolutely good straight forward consumer advice on these products however I would only add that EcoFlow is a Chinese corporation where 4Patriots is based out of Tennessee, so if you're interested in supporting American made products versus funding the ChiCom invasion initiative then just understand that their costs are so low because of their slave labor policies. I calculated my energy needs. Then I did some shopping, not happy with what I found. For about $200.00 I built my own that fits in a backpack. It includes 4 backpack size solar panels wired in parallel, solar charge controller, ac inverter, and 2 batteries wired in parallel. I can add battery/batteries as needed. There are resources both for free and nominal charge that will walk you through this process. If space is not at a premium you can get larger 100 watt panels, if space is a premium you can search for smaller panels that you can wire in parallel to meet your power input needs.

That 6144wh of battery capacity or 5550kw of usable power after subtracting inverter overhead. It’s a great setup with 2 550w panels to feed it 1000 watts of solar. Almost a year ago, I bought two Patriot refrigerators/ freezer. In no time at all one of them quit working. To their defense, I called the agent went over all the steps to get it up
    and running. Nothing worked. When I asked him was I to return it, he said no, shipping cost too much. We'll just send you another brand new one. And so they did.
    Since then, both have been running continuously on ac. I don't think the batteries would run it long enough in a crisis. The box itself appears to be good enough to use for an ice chest.

      Glad i could help and glad you didnt make a choice you might regret. Feel free to email me with any questions but a few quick tips, for this example lets say you are powering a average fridge
      1. Make sure the out put is 500watts or above. Fridges have high starting watts 350watts-500watts and then drop lower. Avg is around 350watts but extra output is better incase you have something else plugged up.
      2. The larger the Watthour (capacity) the long the device will run. Ie 768wh (4 patriots 1800) is less than 1612wh(4 patriots 2000x) and both are less than 3600wh (eco flow delta pro).
      3. According to renogy (link to article below) the average fridge consumption is 102watts per hour.
      So according to this if you have a unit that is 1000wh capicity, it will run a fridge for roughly 1 day, however on my testing for my fridge my delta 1260wh ran a fridge for 15 hrs roughly 85 watts per hour

      Either way if thats a concern then you might wanna look into building a faraday cage and putting anything you see as a vauable electronic in there.

I dont have any solar on my roof but i know most of those systems are powered straight to the grid so during a blackout they wouldnt help run anything

      So in general you might be correct if the towers go down without a backup generator your cell phone might be of little use.

    I found it odd that they don't list the power output too. Saying their outlets put out more power than the actual product can produce just tells me they have a powerful inverter for no reason, one would be better off just buying a larger inverter and create the set up on your own. I have a harbor freight set up for the small usb adaptors and Bauer batteries, because it is the battery AH I want; I run my fans and power my cell phone and such, but I know what I have for power. I appreciate this video, as I am tired of the same lack of info on ACTUAL run time. I did buy a 100 watt panel from harbor freight a few years ago for $100, it has done its job, but again, I wasn't expecting anything more, and the store would accept the return if it was crap, just saying, cheap is fine as long as You KNOW its not exactly high quality, but too charge 4 patriot prices for cheap products is absolute trash, THANKS, I am glad You did this, it might save a poor Soul a lot.

    I actually have both the Patriots 2000x and the Expansion battery for the 2000x. It's a bit pricey, definitely priced high. However, it's simplified for easy use. With the expansion battery hooked up, Ran a large refrigerator non-stop for 2 days 7 hrs. That's almost 2.5 days, sure I have other solar generators actually all three Oupes Mega series, Mega 2, Mega 3 and Mega 5 each with an extra expansion battery. Although the Patriots 2000x has less capacity than each of my Oupes Mega series it draws down less energy when its on. Which gives it longer than normal usage when using an expansion battery.
    Sure, Patriots 2000x has its cons but overall glad i bought one.

    • @titanpreparedness
      @titanpreparedness  4 місяці тому

      @paulpalomo417 4 місяці тому +2

      Thank you for the follow-up, Mega series have more capacity than the Patriots 2000x including when each unit is coupled with an expansion battery.
      All Mega series (M1-M2-M3) with an expansion battery will out last the Patriot 2000x with an expansion battery. However, The Patriots 2000x with an expansion battery still does well.
      I have these four Solar generators, Although the Patriots 2000x has its Short comings it's still a good Solar generator. Very user friendly, AC Inventer has low draw down when in use as opposed to Mega 3 and Mega 5 they draw a lot of energy when AC Inventer is on. Not so much with the Mega 2, the AC inverter draws much less in which helps Mega 2 last very long when in use.
      To be honest, I had questioned myself a few times for buying the Patriots generator, now I don't and am very happy I bought one. After learning the Patriots 2000x strengths, See how valuable it is.
      Now with the OUPES Mega series, Very happy with them but they do have a couple of short comings. Overall, I feel everyone needs a couple of good Solar generators and lots of Solar panels. It doesn't do any good to have a Solar Generator without a proper Solar panel system to charge them when the grid is down for long periods.
      Good luck and may we all survive what is to come, the future doesn't look good, people please prepare.

    4 patriots Keeps calling their products 1800 & 2000X "GENERATORS" they are not, for 1/6 the price I can buy a gas inverter generator that will run 9 hours at full load on 1 gallon or 12 hours at 50% load, it can run 1,500 watt electric heater, TV, refrigerator and lights/computer for 9 hours on 1 gallon, without the electric heater will run for 12 hours, only takes 1 minuet to refill the gas tank. the generator only weighs 42lbs. bought mine at costco for $450. for under $1,000 I can get one that will also run AC and well. 7,000 watt continuous runs for 11 hours on 4 gallons at full load.

    You also don't mention it's generous return policy.

      So youd be correct when comparing either patriot to the delta one 2500 compare to 800 life cycles. However not compared to the delta 2 (3000 LCs) or Pro (3500 LCs).
      According to a lot of these comments from people that bought it and from many others online your gonna need that return policy.
      "American based"- You can find many of their products on chineese rebrand sites. They buy in bulk slap their logo on it and resell it for 2-3x the price.

    just add a 2000 watt inverter to run a power saw
    people need to look at the watthours as the fuel tank on your vehicle and the wattage they advertise as hp of your vehicle, so the size of your fuel/power tank and your wattage/hp capability, will let you know how long you can operate something at what level before you need to refuel/repower up

      Firstly it happens i cant tell you the amount of stuff i wasted money on when i first started because i was listening to other channels. Yours is still useful even if you over paid, prepping is all about learning. The way i tell people to start is pretend theres a weekend power outage. Do you have water and a way to filter any water you find.
      Do you have food and a way to cook sinple meals?
      Lights? Ways to keep a phone charged?
      Ways to keep warm.
      Feel free to email me and we can discuss more in depth and i can give you a better list

      A good electricity backup plan consists of two things.
      1. A good "Solar Power Station" which will power the essential items-refrigerator, small fan, lights, etc. This unit should be at least 2000 watts rated with an ~ 4000 watt surge. I bought the Pecron E2000LFP that fits this spec. (~$1199.00 at BIG A store). I can run my full size refer overnight and still have ~ 35% power remaining the next morning.
      2. A good INVERTER generator, rated ~ 1800 watts running with ~ 2200 watts surge. I bought the Westinghouse iGEN2500 that fits this spec. (~$600.00 at HD or Lowes. It only consumes ONE gallon of gas running a 25% load for 10 hours. During the day, this inverter gen "recharges" my solar gen battery for night-time use for the refer. For hurricane season in Florida, I keep at least 15 gallons of STABILIZED E-0 - ethanol free - in reserve that would give me a good 5 days STRAIGHT of back up power with remembering to change the oil at ~ 100 hours or so.
      The above is MY plan and gear and is typical of what most people have/use for a power outage....

    • @laurakcollins
      @laurakcollins 3 місяці тому

      When did you buy it? My mom did the same is you and feels the exact same way. But I checked their return policy and you can return it within 365 days of purchasing! You have to pay shipping and a “restocking” fee but still better than the insane price it is

    • @ainttakenanyshit
      @ainttakenanyshit 3 місяці тому

      @@laurakcollinsWell, I DID NOT buy it, I did my homework BEFORE outlaying the cash. Again, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Pecron E2000LFP as it give you the best performance for the $$ you spend. As you have the option to ship the patriot back, it will cost you AT LEAST 125 BUCKS or more.... I live in Florida and you will benefit from a "solar power station", but, for the hurricane days with clouds, the Westinghouse iGEN2500, an inverter type that only burns one gallon of gas in ~8-10 hours... USE E-0 gas only in any small engine you have at home... My hurricane plan is to run the Westinghouse gas inverter during the day for a window AC and refer, also to charge the Pecron for night-time use for the refer that will keep the refer running overnight and still have 30% power in reserve. If you have any more questions, give me a shout right here 🙂 Hank

      For survival, you only need run your fridge on cycles! Not all night! Why don’t you get one and show us these so called flaws! 4patriots has a 365 day warranty, so most people are going to test all this out before putting it to use! And if it doesn’t do what it says you return it!
      I don’t like companies bad mouthing other companies so they can try to sell their products! Just run your ads, and if you have quality equipment people will buy it! Who would run their fridge for 10 hours in a survival mode! Also where were your videos to show how good they are? Sounds like got burnt from them and now it’s bad mouthing time! Sad with a whole 158 views, tells me how many people trust you! Have a great day!😂

      Haha interesting take.
      You would be correct in saying you SHOULD cycle your fridge during a emergency. That way you can extend the life. However, how many people know how to properly use a generator (or solar generator) in that manner. I can tell you if people lose power they will plug everything up and leave it plugged till something dies. A 1 year warranty, cute.
      Bluetti has a 2-5 year, ecoflow has a 2-5 year as well.
      Also im not a company so i can "bad mouth" anything i want and when i see a bad deal im going to call it out. 2500- 3000 for their power stations is a rip off. And no i didnt get burned by them because im smart enough to look up the stats which is what this video is about

    Those 4P are not generators and nothing more that a battery with an inverter to convert AC to DC that's it....A generator has an engine spins a shaft which rotates an electromagnet (rotor or armature). The rotating armature spins inside a stationary magnetic field (stator) to produce electrical current through copper wiring. I have an 11,000 watt generator/welder that will run everything in my house including my HVAC i bet that 4 patriot's can't do that.....LOL

    The 2000X costs 3 Grand and for that money you can buy a Generac that can power your entire home, not just your fridge, TV and a CPAP machine. These Patriot power supplies are total junk and so over-priced it's not even worth using as a back-up power generator.

      So ill agree that you can buy a great gas ginny for that price. Solar generators aka portable power stations do have a place in a long term grid down scenario or in off the grid set ups so while the patriot might be junk i wouldnt say all of them are junk
