  • If you've ever had a full truck bed or lots of weight in the back, you probably noticed a rather unstable truck when you hit bumps on the freeway or dips at a slight angle. This is because the factory rear track bar is not at the proper angle and is not equipped to correctly stabilize your truck.
I typically only noticed this when packed up for a trip, and when I'd hit a dip or bump the truck would rock back and forth...and back and forth and so on. It was not a comfortable feeling, and in some cases, I even triggered the stability control to kick in. Not good! If you've ever experienced the rocking or wiggle, you'll want this upgrade.
To fix this, you need the rear track bar from Thuren Suspension (www.thurenfabrication.com/pro.... This new kit will include a new track bar and bracket which will correct the factory flaw.
Installation is pretty straight forward, but you'll need to make sure you've got a good drill, drill bits, and some large sockets.
Straight from the Thuren Suspension Site:
This fits the 2014+ 2500 Ram and the 2014+ Ram Power Wagon.
Trackbar length is extended 6.5" and lifted off the axle, to improve the geometry.
Retains full suspension compression travel so no bump drops required.
    Hardened 4140 Chromoly solid bar.
Uses our same ultra high-end greaseable rebuildable joints as our control arms.
    17-4 Hardened stainless center pivots.
    All grade 8 hardware.
1/4" Steel CNC laser cut and formed heavy duty adapter bracket
This product will function great on other brand suspension from 0"-2.5" actual rear lift.

Another terrific step-by-step video. You're a natural on camera --- no annoyingly excessive ummms, ahhs, ehh. Very clear and easy to understand. Thank you for doing this video.

thanks! It's such a paint in the butt sometimes, I'll watch footage and think, "why the heck did I do that? Or say that? Or I skipped something..." But believe me, there are a few of my videos on here with umm, a lot of umm...Easy habit to fall into sometimes!

Added some weight to my PW and had the same issues. I almost spent $2k on suspension. Just ordered the track bar instead. Thanks so much for the video!

The two bottom bolts holes are what are giving me the biggest issue since they are way off. I have to get a burr kit to make the holes bigger on one side

Great video! Did you also notice any difference(s) when the truck is unloaded?

Appreciate the information, I am going to go the same route on my 18 power wagon. Did you opt for the shock and spring upgrades as well?

At 4:41, that last hole you drilled out, you said you have to drill both through the front, and the rear as well. Did you drill bit reach the rear or did you need a longer drill bit?
And, how did you keep both holes aligned and centered when drilling the rear since you can't really see what you're doing because the front bracket blocks your view. I have my track bar ready to install just watching videos trying to get a feel for it before diving in on the install

I just helped a buddy install one on his power wagon and it was a pain getting the new hole drilled. ended up drilling with a 37/64 drill bit going straight through as no real way to drill from the other side. Seems like Thuren could supply some kind of jig/guide or something to make it easier.

I am worried that my full size spare will not fit with the rear thuren track bar mine is 35x12.5x18 it fits with stock. Looks like your full size spare fits fine what size are you running?

Like your videos, but please include the actual drilling and installation don't edit that part out. This applies to this video and a couple others including the door USB install.

Thanks for the video. I thought I must Have a bad shock or something on my lo miles 2017 2500. When I told the guys at the dealer about the truck feeling really weird over bumps at higher speeds they looked at me like I was crazy, and of course they said NPF (no problem found). We tow a fifth wheel and it has never felt right over bumps on the freeway but the last time towing we really started swaying. I was going to try aftermarket shocks but I now think we will start with this track bar upgrade.
Thanks very much for the valuable info.

I'd definitely do the track bar first.
Let us know how it goes!

How much grease do you pump into these bushings? Or do you pump until it oozes like old moog ball joints.

I just give a pump or so…from what I’ve seen (if I recall correctly) is that if you see the grease coming out on these, they’re overfilled/not good.

What kind of lift or suspension kit do you have

    • @chazpages
      @chazpages  3 роки тому

This is all stock, but the power wagon has a 2" lift over a normal 2500...so technically 2" I guess. But it was a stock suspension power wagon
