In my dept on the ship, we called it, the Law of the 7 P's. Has stuck with me to this day. Cool to see the t-shirts. Will have to get one.
So awesome Allen thanks for the sweet video! One note on your(accurate to the Power Wagon) travel percentages... Being that the Power Wagon is based off the regular Ram 2500 platform, some of our technical info is modeled around the base 2500 Ram. So with that, being that the Power Wagon is the Off-road version of the regular 2500 Ram, it already has some increased suspension travel over the regular 2500 from the factory, so our quoted travel gains with the Power Wagon are not as much. You are going to love your King shocks I'm designing the tune right now! ..... Don
Which is EXACTLY what I'm waiting for...My Power Wagon will be taking me all over the country, during all seasons, and all terrains. I simply won't do it without a bullet proof suspension and shocks. Thuren King 3.0 system or bust.
Great vid. I have the Thuren 3" coil / short arm kit w/ Fox 2.0 w reservoirs on my '13 PW. A slightly different animal than the '14+, but Don makes some fabulous high quality components for these vehicles. The Fox 2.0 res are doing fine for my purposes here on the east coast. Better road handling and ready to take a brisk jaunt at speed if I so choose. Mostly crawling and slower trail running here. These PW really deserve an upgrade over the stock Bilstiens. I agree his team is very responsive as well, which is really important in my book.
Great review. Lots of great insight and information not given on these trucks and their suspension upgrades. Thanks
Like it. Good stuff. I have an 03 CTD 2500, LSD rear and open front. Factory 4:11's and a six speed manual. I modified my suspension with a hybrid set up using components from Thuren and the other two big guys. I went with VR springs, Thurens rear HD Shackles, adjustable track bar, Bilstien 5100's, A home brew anti-sway disconnect, air bags (for camper weight and balance only), and a good front diff protector. Adding 37's was the icing.
I discovered Thuren when I couldn't get through for questions after repeated attempts to one of the others I made an initial purchase from. I corresponded with Don about some things. Despite me not buying a ton from him, he lent some great advice and was glad to talk about ideas. I benefited from his input. They all make good stuff, but Dons attention to customer service and following his products and innovation won me over. As I need to replace and/or upgrade stuff, Thuren is what I seek. I have a list......
Bottom line is, these "big" trucks, with these improved aftermarket suspensions and related components, are amazingly capable beyond what we could do in the old days. Even without lockers for mine (for now), the articulation and keeping tires to the ground, in a rig that ' Ram ' still thinks a CTD is too heavy for off roading........It keeps taking me deep into places many balk at for big trucks. And many times with an 800 pound camper on it too. But I will admit, they are heavy, and when you sink one, it can be work getting out. But it's not often.
Curious with the AVR rig, does that newer design Ram need a frame support for the steering box? ( for HD off road use ). I did add one to mine early on.
Great video guys!
It's interesting that Ram claims the RTI score stock is 510 and the new 2020 is 530. I suspect those numbers are a bit like crank horsepower numbers.
Great video from the AVR team! BTW, I noticed the video of the installer, the Zerk fittings are pointing down on your rear sway bar end links. Flip those around, mine were pointing down and I tore the bottom ones off in Moab. They won't last pointing down.
OffroadPowerWagon, thanks for tip!
Loved the review. Just ordered the 1.5" 2.0 remote kit for my 2020 PW. I'm gonna do some in depth before and after vids to kick off my YT channel
8:06 wow that's impressive. Would have been a real thrashing with stock susp!
Good job. Please Tell Me More about roof racks
I have a 2015 2500 6.7L I never plan on doing rock wheeling in it I have a Jeep for that but what I hate is the rough ride it has. I have 35s with a spacer in the front level it off I'm looking to just make the front end not hit so hard on rough highways. The way it is now I can feel every crack in the road we moved up from a 1/2 ton F-150 rode so much nicer. I really don't want to go higher or give up weight load capability. I'm told if you disconnect the sway bar it rides lot better I could just put progressive springs in the front I don't like when trucks ride low in the back after lifting it.
I have a bone stock 2018 Power Wagon and I'm not sure what I want to do to it. I'm just loving it so far after coming from a lifted Wrangler Rubicon.
No rush to modify that beast. There are so many options for Power Wagon these days compared to just 5 years ago.
Motivation! I can't wait till I can order mine in a couple of months....I like that lightbar setup on your bumper! Did you make it or buy it?
Precision Marksmanship HQ,
Here’s the link to the video we did on the light bar.

Very cool video! I know you mentioned the tires are 35's. Just curious on the width or full tire size numbers. Thanks, and happy wheeling!
35x12.5”
I have a 2018 tundra limited crew Max I’ve been debating to put a leveling system I’ve been thinking about the Bill Steen 6112 and the 5160s in the rear
James Vitale great set up. Almost went that route but went with Toytec instead.
Did the truck sit level with that kit
👍👍👍.........
Lol wait…that’s a stock dodge suspension!? I have to get one of these. I didn’t pay any attention to the older versions
Hey man, how much payload you can gain with the correct airbags in the rear suspension?
I really can’t put a number to it. Because this airbag system is designed to be as a supplement to the stock system. Airlift specifically tries to stay away from giving numbers. Hence the reason they call it a supplement suspension system.
You need some 40s on 17" wheels and skid plates.
Nice review. How are you liking the Sylvania pods?
A little moisture has gotten in the lens, but otherwise they’re working great.
Why am I watching this? I don't even have a Power Wagon
Hilarious! They are fun trucks. Thanks for watching.
You're watching because the PW don't care....
I'm doing the same thing, lol
Just a quick question on how your tires are holding up on that Power Wagon I have a 2013 Power Wagon I had the Toyo Open Country at2 I put on last year I put 36,000 miles on them with the normal rotation around every 5000 miles and their shot looking for a better Tire thank you for the info great videos
Probably about the same. I have about 20k on these, but I'm sure they're going to need to be replaced within the next 10K.
Been there too with Toyo. Check out Cooper AT3 XLT. I have just over 10k on them and they have been great in every condition so far up here in Idaho. Also very quiet.
You're not going to get much better mileage on that type of tire. Only way to do better is get a street tire, especially with such a heavy truck.
I also have toyo at 2 with 20,000 on them and two of them are on the wear bars. I thought they had 65,000 mile warranty? Cooper st maxx next time for me.
How is towing, with a heavy camper or load?
shockracer, check out the video we did on the Air Lift air bags in the rear. But if I wasn’t running the bags the truck sags a bit more than the stock springs. Air bags would definitely be worthwhile if you wanted to run Thuren springs in the rear and tow from time to time.
@@AdventureVehicleReviewsI watched that video as soon as you posted it. Ours doesn't have the bags "yet" but was curious about towing and payload with these springs. Thanks for the reply! Keep up the great videos.
I need to level my 2019 2500 diesel
i looked on the website
what the option 2 inch or 2.75
and it’s coming with 2 springs 2 shocks and track bar if i’m not mistaken?!
I’m gonna refer your to Thuren. Send them a text or email. They’re very responsive.
what steps are you running on the 2500 I like how they have the extra length to access the bed
never mind just saw white knuckle got it
The sliders have done excellent over time.
Are there any suspension upgrades that improve towing and payload capacity?
Really, just helper bags (air bags). But they don’t change the trucks payload or tow rating. They help “support “ the load.
So I wouldn’t be able to just change the shocks and springs?
Dana Reynolds, yes that is an option.
@@danareynolds7843 Another company, Carli, has a kit for the PW that has stiffer springs out back to increase the payload to 2000. The fellow in this video says his springs are softer, so he actually reduces the payload?
so we're totally going to ignore that the stock truck had 33's and the thuren suspension truck had 35's.. im sure that helps your score.
What does the change in suspension do to the payload and tow ratings?
Julian Pereira, it does change the way the truck will handle heavier loads. But the axle and tire weight ratings don’t change. This is why we decided support the softer coil springs with air bag suspension.
Adventure Vehicle Reviews So as far as I understand, the truck still retains the same payload numbers as stock even with the suspension upgrades... Am I correct?
If Yes, that a really great upgrade.
Julian Pereira, the spring rate has changed - therefore the the payload has changed as well. Unfortunately we don’t have the numbers for payload with Thuren rear coils.
@@007Knightjp If it's like Carli's (and it probably is, since both are top-notch builders), you'll lose around 15% payload. Towing, not sure.
@@freedomrider266 actually, if you go to Carli's website, they must install stiffer springs with their kit because they claim to raise the PW payload to 2000 lbs.
Hey guys! Today is a perfect day to film our video because we have fucking tree trimming in the background 👍🏻 Gee maybe we should have gone around the corner or something 🤔
What gear ratio are you running with the 35s?
Jeff Bennett, the stock gears. 4:10.
@@AdventureVehicleReviews Is it worth doing 456 gears for 35s or 410 is enough?
Jeff Bennett 4:10’s are plenty good. If you’re gonna spend the money regearing, spend some money on bigger tires too 😉 #37s
@@AdventureVehicleReviews Not going to 37s currently running 3:73 on 295 70 18 . I'm going to 35 and was just wondering if 4:10 was enough. Thanks
Jeff Bennett 💪😎🇺🇸 sounds good. Happy wheeling!
What years were you a drill instructor??
Random question I know. But I was in golf company 2141 in 2008. Your voice seems wayyyyy too familiar.
2005-2008. Mike Company. 🇺🇸
@@AdventureVehicleReviews Alright, both of you need to cool it....I'm starting to have flashbacks to boot camp in the, well, LONG before 2008.
You know we can’t. Once you wear the Smokey, it’s hard to take it off. 😆
Yep the speech, presentation and body language is still strong. Thing is I still receive info better when it’s being presented in this manner. Keep the vids going man you are doing a great job.
What brand is the front bumper bull bar
Benjamin Garza, Randy Ellis Designs.
If you have taller tires on it it will go farther up the ramp
The follow up video to this was done on 37’s.
What was your tire psi on that trail?
About 18.
Are those C load rated tires, or D rated?
man.. dodge has always had sub par 4x4 systems
No. Its bs
