    What I learned so far -slow movement -eye contact while talking -low hand gestures -speaking slowly lowering voice near end of sentence - short sentences -sit straight up little slouched - keep chin up - only glance to right or left when losing eye contact never down -leaning forward trying to get attention (more important) but lean back let them come to u -hand shake w strong eye contact -wide stance - invading personal space alpha move - laughing is weak can smirk at times.

    A thing I noticed about Tommy is his complete lack of blinking. When he's looking at someone and talking to them, or if a moment is intense, he doesn't blink at all. He holds eye contact SO strongly there is ZERO blinking, I think that's super cool.

    Just wanted to add few notes - the way they are dressed has a big factor on body language. When Tommy shifts as Alfie looks at the pin, its an impatience shift, not a vulnerable move. Cillian has said in interviews breaking down Tommy’s character that he feels everyone around him is slow, you can see that in this scene. He’s waiting for Alfie to give him what he wants, because he always gets what he wants, one way or another. Big part of his character in general. In my opinion, Tommy seems like he just wants to get this out of the way.

    • @1STMAN

    Another important detail you missed nearing the end of the exchange is when Tommy says "4 minutes", when Alfie checks the watch, eluding to him that he has been keeping track, whilst remaining perceptive and talking at the same time. Such importunity is put into so subtle a detail, which is what makes it so impressively enjoyable.
    Edit: and something else, you don't seem to realize that Tommy intentionally give off false signals to pull Alfie into a trap, and when Alfie places his entire confidence on that final point, Tommy destroys him with one single judicious move.

    tommys general disposition is calm, methodical. he looks as if he never feels pressure, and that he is always ahead of his opponent and he mixes all that with this confidence that beams from him. The actor playing Tommy is god tier at playing his role. Like someone will basically lay out how his has tommy by the balls and tommy will just lean back in his chair with his hands closed together and he feet up calmly looking at him like, "oh really?" or "can I speak yet to make a fool of you."

    It would be great to have Leonardo Di Caprio's body language analyzed.
    I'm enjoying this content so much, and given the videos on Ragnar and Bjorn, plus this one, it came to my mind how most of the gestures you're highlighting really make for a rule of thumb when it comes to show confidence and relaxed openness.
    Still, I feel like Leonardo Di Caprio shifts the frame a bit: he's not always relaxed, he's really open to emotions and often expresses his rage, his gestures aren't on the truthplane, they reach up to eye level (think of the Wolf of Wall Strett, or The Great Gatsby), he genuinely smiles and his tone of voice is calm, but way softer.
    It would be great to see how he still manages to show as a person that charismatic.

I remember I don't looked the gun (on my work teaches us don't look guns because you miss important details--- I worked in a hotel, by the way). I just look the guy to his eyes directly. He don't said any, just move his hand. So, I said: Ok, you want the money not my personal papers. I put my hand on my purse and took the money from my wallet and gave to him. He pointed me trough a window in the taxicab I was. He get inside the half body just to rush take the money. He still carry the gun, but I just continued watching his eyes. He was on a motorcycle and he and his partner left. The taxi driver told me: You never loss your control, you are so cold!!! And I said to him: well, I could kill him with the gun on my purse, but I really I will don't do that for $40 I just can kill to defend my life (obviously I didn't carry any gun, I told that because the taxi driver wasn't assault (he must to carry more money than me) and he stop the car early on traffic light when he saw them. • @1STMAN
      @1STMAN  4 роки тому +16

      Yes smiling either makes you look weak or more agreeable which technically is weak. Of course life without laughing or smiling would be shit, but my advice would be to smile less. Examples; those men that laugh at every joke/sentence even when they're not funny or doing that weird little smile when you see a woman you like. Strong eye contact will trump all of that very quickly, especially if you then start talking to her. Women find comedians funny and say they want a funny guy, but barely any woman masturbates to Kevin Hart over Jason Mamoa

When men realize a woman isn't fawning over him/they're not getting the attention they crave so dearly, the façade falls away and and the insecurities show.
