I just want to add the fun fact that Henry moves slow acting as Geralt because, as said by him and also as a reference to the books, Geralt is usually on high alert and doesn't want others to know how fast he can actually move thanks to mutation or alchemical stuff. Which actually makes sense for someone who usually has to fight and doesn't know if any normal person could eventually be an enemy.
I was trying to figure out how to explain exactly what you said. I suffer with PTSD, but I don't like it to be immediately obvious in case someone decides to use it against me. What I do is attempt to not appear as a threat or target; while constantly watching every detail of other people as I can. Most people have a tell when they are plotting something against you, and your gut instinct is typically right. How you react to it may not be. Essentially it's "be a wolf in sheep's clothing" with the expectation of stopping another predator instead of chasing the prey.
Actually Geralts slow movements are something that he does on purpose. As mutant he is much, MUCH quicker than avarage human so he does this to hide his ability from enemies and to prevent people from exluding him in situations like contract taking or just gaining info. (it was explained in books)
I've noticed a huge difference in how ppl react to me now... Since I started wearing these epic shoulder pads and body armour, And carrying a giant 4 foot sword everywhere I go

Move at a pace that is self determined than environment determined. 2. BE COMFORTABLE TURNING BACK ON OTHERS: The person who ends the conversation & walks away usually the one with more power in a given situation. But don’t be like Geralt in this situation, for eg when someone enters a room you could turn & wave but better is to stand up head on & hand shake. 3. CONFIDENT PEOPLE CAN AFFORD TO HANDICAP THEMSELVES: You can do this by being more honest especially where you think it might set you back socially for eg if you have a nerdy hobby that you think other people might judge, often better off speaking about it with enthusiasm rather than downplaying it. 4. Flexibility is important, because you have to adapt to the situation you're in. As such you should never be dominant (or submissive) all of the time. For example, if you're attending a meeting there's no point in posturing and dominating the room when someone else in on as speaker and you're supposed to listen. However, when it's your turn to present as per the agenda, by all means step into your dominance. When it comes to seduction the statistically sound strategy to put forth as a fairly normal man is to step into dominance, because *most* women like a confident, dominant man. Turning your back on someone like Geralt does is more than confidence, which is why I call it dominance. Sometimes a less than optimal approach with your boss :)

Words are spells. The powerful people know that. Lying is to cause harm to oneself. When you constantly look inward to align with your true self speech and movements are slower. It is very refreshing to meet such an individual in person. I felt you are not fully understanding this one but great channel neverthless.
Words are spells on women, specifically. There's many more ways to influence people, and tangible methods are often more effective. But there's a place for them all, even the unsaid. Humans take 80% of environmental information from their eyes, and in social situations, sight tells more about people than their words will usually answer.
I am the most confident man alive, someone asked me what time it was and it took me about an hour before I had replied. Of course, by the time I answered the time given was incorrect, nevertheless, everyone in the room congratulated my confidence in not being afraid of being wrong.
Great video! My *summary* of the 4 ways Geralt of Rivia demonstrates confidence: 1. Geralt has slow, languid movements. ○ Deep confidence is about being able to move at a pace that is self-determined rather than environmentally determined ○ Animal kingdom analogy ○ Predator movements = slow and languid; nothing to be afraid of; comfortably energized □ If you get too lethargic, energize yourself with a stretch or quick breaths ○ Prey movements = herky-jerky; in constant anticipation of danger □ If this happens, take a deep breath and open your body language to slow down 2. Geralt is very comfortable turning his back on others. a. Animal kingdom: sign that something is unthreatening / unimportant i. Only predators can afford that b. Caution: That will make the other person feel unimportant (to you)! 3. Confident people can afford to handicap themselves. ("Handicap principle") a. Animal example: male peacock's feathers -> no other purpose than look sexy b. Example: Say something that might hurt your reputation -> ppl assume you must be strong enough not to need people to like you -> you come across as confident & more likeable c. How to implement that in everday life? Be less socially calculating and instead more honest in your self-expression, e. g. about your geeky hobbies. 4. Geralt is extremely non-reactive a. The ability to have a sturdy/resilient emotional center = key creator/indicator of confidence b. Low reactivity signifies you can handle whatever (stressor, problem etc.) life throws at you c. Animal kingdom: strong emotional mastery can trump physical strength in dominance battles d. It's important to recognize your specific emotional triggers; make a list proactively e. However, that doesn't mean swallowing your emotions; have the courage to be vulnerabe • What you want is unshakable deep confidence -> the rest (body language etc.) will follow naturally
Your body language is a reflection of how you're feeling on the inside - focus on building core confidence and self-esteem and the body language will come naturally! But you definitely can learn body language and use it to build confidence from the outside in💪
@@KizaWittaker Both methods work. In fact, both methods can be employed and build off of each other. Think of it like compounding interest - The small improvements in one (internal or external) reinforce the other and vice-versa. Not feeling confident inside? employ some fake outside confidence and your inside will calm.
Yeah ur right but the opposite is also true, if you change your body language it will also impact and affect your emotions and beliefs aka how you feel inside
Don’t be the guy that “looks” confident but folds when he’s needed…. Actually get confident from getting better at everything you can. Working out is a huge help for everybody as well.
The deep breathing whenever anxiety starts to rev up really is a game changer, whenever I’m in a situation that trigger it, I always take a deep breath, and make an effort to do the opposite of what my anxiety wants - I speak and move slowly and goal oriented, keep my language simple and to the point, I lower the pitch of my voice. I have no problem with people seeing that I’m affected by the situation and that my demeanor change, but slowing down usually resets things, and builds a foundation for an anxiety free interaction from that point on! I’ve also found simply asking myself “why?” can snap me out of negative thought spirals:)
I think your mental game plays a big roll on good looks since you got all that muscle everywhere and the magic thing is, muscles get controlled by brain.
The bit at 6:40 made me laugh. That whole point is heavily dependant on the perception that others have of you to begin with. I can honestly say that anyone (outside of my friends group) has never responded positively about my gaming hobby. Especially not women. Worse yet, they often make an effort to reply how boring games/computers are.

The peacock’s huge tail does protect it. I’ve seen predators try to get them and they always end up with a mouthful of huge feathers. During nesting season, the males will deliberately scream at the slightest disturbance in order to draw any predators away from the plain looking female on the nest. Their huge bright tail also helps with this diversion.

Straightening up the body with retracted shoulders makes immediate difference in how others treat you. Especially if you add a slow and present gait to the package.
It helps that Geralt has the ability to kill just about anyone in the kingdoms, and that Henry (and subsequently Geralt) is not only taller than most, stronger than most he is aslo far better looking then most. I'm sure those qualities help.

Not just for confidence, but overall posture health, always have your shoulder blades retracted with your chest out. And keep your head up when walking, I used to always look down while walking and that only caused neck pain.
I found this was much easier after adopting a heavy regular back workout. To begin with I was focusing on holding good form under heavy load, but its carried over into my general posture.
Yeah, I heard about this advice before and implemented it. Since then, I've stepped into poo several times and I decided that I rather prefer to look week than to clean my shoes every other day :P
4:22 The peacock's feathers have over a hundred eye's on it which is quite distracting for a predator and may confuse it causing an attack to miss it's target. Same goes for some butterflies or fish which also deceive by faking the position of the head guiding an attack to the rear of the animal.
@@OmarSlloum What is the peacock theory? Why does the peacock have such a beautiful tail? Darwin's theory of sexual selection says that nature's extravagances -- like the peacock's tail -- are advantages in the mating game. Darwin later said...“The sight of a feather in a peacock's tail, whenever I gaze at it, makes me sick!” wrote Charles Darwin in 1860, just a year after the publication of The Origin of Species. The intense detail is not at all necessary for mating, and his theory had no reasons why, it was that way.
This reminds me of 'butch walking'. In a famous study, muggers in prison were shown videos of people in streets and asked about who would they would select victims. It turns out that how people walked was more important that how wealthy they looked. People with a timid hunched gait were likely to be selected as victims. People with an upright posture and a strong 'butch walk' were not.
I recently had a confrontation at work with someone who considers themselves important in the area. Since I have no intention of getting into physical fights at this job, I simply approached him and took a relaxed posture (leaning on the counter) and never raised my voice above conversational tone and volume. I maintained direct eye contact, deflected all verbal attempts at provocation, and seemed practically dismissive. He considered himself someone to be feared/respected and in me, he found someone who calmly and solidly challenged him. The attention of all this has been interesting, as he has never followed up on his words and has had conversations with multiple people who told him he was essentially in the wrong. He's still mad, but won't do anything about it, so far.
Watching this has given me some insight into how I unconsciously changed my demeanor after I went through PTSD therapy. People started treating me with much more respect, abusive gf lost power and parted ways, new gf was absolutely enamoured with me and thought I was the best thing since cider was invented (she loves cider).
I'm a millennial myself and I wish more millennials took heed to this advice to avoid being quick to anger and quick to trigger. Meditation can certainly help... BUT there's a lot to be said about what you focus meditation upon, while ridding your mind of "useless monkey chatter". There's a point where embracing an emptiness has to be replaced with refined focus and rumination, or you short-change yourself for the benefits you could experience. There's also more benefits from a practiced meditation, rather than simply quiet meditation. Practices like Yoga, or Tai Chi will enhance your balance and coordination while you meditate, making the slowed deliberate motions more natural to your body and easier to carry on naturally, too. It is a kind of pity, that a lot of people aren't even aware that Tai Chi and Yoga were meant as a form of meditation practice... not just a series of stretches and "old people's martial arts" exercise... BUT such is life. AND no, you don't necessarily have to work through the prescribed sets according to one or another school... Simply adopting the philosophy and finding your own way can be a benefit. Obviously, if it's available to you, getting some direction (from a qualified teacher) has it's own benefits. I wouldn't discourage it. At the same time, "you gotta start somewhere". ;o)
I had this predator-like confidence for years, but army boosted it much more. Now I intimidate people. Also this handicap principle was new to me, I like it and will practice it.
Agree. Regarding the 3rd point: Just today I went jogging with my dad. At the end he said: You are in great shape now, right? As he just saw me jogging way more distance in less time than Im used to. I said: No, not yet anyway. He nodded in silence and smiled at me. For one second I felt powerful and I knew I could not gain that kind of respect If i had answered something like: Yes, I know or Yeah, im in awesome shape.
Something pretty similar happened to me today. My dad basically asked me "How are you holding up ?" I felt great but sensed it was not the adequate answer and said "I'm on cruise control and I maintain it". I really felt powerful too, even though it was not the most positive answer one could hope to hear.
Rewatching the Witcher now i all noticed these traits too, but i would also add that Geralt is able to see trough the lies and deduce the true intentions of the people he meets that want something from him and calls them out which in turn leads to those people revealing what really happened and being honest. This is probably from experiences of being betrayed and learning from it or just basic knowlegde of human nature.

You can improve your looks without plastic surgery. Search a UA-cam channel named "Brawny King Fitness". It has a video on getting a lean face. Watch it. It works, trust me
One of the suggestions is to acknowledge another as to bring them into the conversation. Nice dance technique. In a diff video of yours it says give the person you are talking with your attention to make them feel important. Display confidence by bring in another to conversation or choose to have the person in your conversation like you. It is all about situational awareness in interpersonnal interactions
I feel like Adam Driver is a good example of these actions and also proves that you don't have to look like a god to still come across as confident and be attractive. He seems to have very sure, powerful movements which I image probably comes from his time as a marine. He also tends to not answer questions very quickly, he takes his time to make sure he says what he wants to say. A lot of guys seem to not be able to figure out why so many women go crazy for Adam Driver but I think it has to do with how he carries himself and the quiet confidence he projects, making us prefer him over a lot of "classically handsome" guys.
9:30 this is the biggest issue I have. Reactivity. I hate to use the term “empath “ as it is overused, but I will say I’m very sensitive to the emotions of others. So much so that I will react almost indefinitely. Biggest hurdle to overcome 100%
An example of handicapping yourself, James Bond's signature introduction "My name is Bond, James Bond" is his way of boldly announcing his real identity. He is so good, he doesn't need a cover.
Geralt actually has a lore reason to move in small very pronounced movements. When a Witcher takes potions, his speed may even double to his normal dancing swordplay. Therefor, he's trying to make it normal that people can see him move slowly. Obviously Geralt's faster then this, but it is very much something he does.

UA-cam videos like this are for insecure men. Just dislike it so the algorithm doesn't shove this content down your throat. Channels like this use popular tags like THE WITCHER NETFLIX to get views.
@@ruleaus7664 Yes. 100% true, and as a insecure little 16 year old you learn that by first faking confidence. Seeing how people react more positivly to you that way, and then once it becomes real confidence you start noticing what you are lacking and how you can improve.
Good stuff. Importance of being “grounded.” Latin word for “ground” is “Hum.” To be “Humble” is to be well-grounded - which typically generates natural confidence.
You also have to be tall and muscular. Imagine some skinny short guy doing these things, it wouldn't work. A large part of Henry's dominance is the fact that he's tall and muscular. Physicality is EXTREMELY important
It's true. Having a strong physique usually gives a more powerful impression. But you can get it by eating properly and working out. Even if you're not tall, you can still be buff and attractive.
There are small people with a crazy charisma though. A lot of it is in the facial expression and posture. I can only imagine that this sort of confidence would be harder to have if you feel inadequate due to your body size. But it is definitively possible.
Small people can be (and have been) dominant and confident. The difference is that small people have to be even more confident and dominant in order to make up for lack of height. Examples are Tom Cruise, Kevin Hart, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.
But you gotta fake it at first while you're self DEVELOPING and eventually you'll 100% gain the true confidence when you start making good money, improving your lifestyle, social skills, and physique. The problem with people this generation is instant gratification, Gary Vee preaches it all the time, TRUST AND LOVE THE PROCESS/GRIND
It's a good thing point, but if you ARE confident, but are lacking body language that displays said confidence in the best possible light, you aren't taking full advantage of the influence you could be commanding.
Thing is. It doesn't work unless you can back it up. Any confident person will hold you to it to see if you're bluffing. Fake it doesn't work. Facing it, does.
Don’t forget Geralt is in great shape. This permeates into all other aspects of life. Getting in shape should be step number one to being confident lol
*I’m 6ft5 and 380lbs; and spent most of my life “shrinking myself and voice” because people think I’m arrogant for taking up space or because of my deep voice.* I’m a kind and considerate person, but definitely an “alpha male” and I always felt conflicted whether to be myself (ie talk normally - which I’ve been told my voice is intimidating because it’s deep and to sit normally which takes up space because I’m so big), or to be more respectful and try to minimise my space because of my size. *I feel so much better just being myself and not going out of my way to seem less “threatening” towards people because I’m not.*
Even if you try to minimize yourself, you are still the same as you were. Even if you pull yourself back, doesn't mean others won't still have their own insecurities, that's out of your control. So considering these things, just be your self and take up as much space as you need, speak in the way you prefer, and the others will have to work on their own issues.
I was thinking about how confident people can afford to handicap themselves. I'd love to get some feedback but it feels like people who overly handicap themselves, over-share, or handicap themselves in improper social situations don't demonstrate confidence but rather over-comfortablility with the people they're around.
The point is, you need to be able to be effective at whatever you strive for, even if you handicap yourself. As long as this is achieved it, people will take it as confidence. People who over handicap themselves usually aren´t effective. The point is to reach your goal, as long as you manage that, people don´t take it in a negative manner.
It all depends on the situation and how you handicap yourself. It is one thing to tell a funny story and put yourself as the target of a joke - self irony. It is a totally different beer, to start describing all your red flags and laugh about it. I usually use self irony a lot. People tend to react positively to it (granted they are not a total lost cause and cannot tell whether I am joking or am being serious). I have met a person who simply started listing how big of failure and psycho he was, 10 minutes into the conversation. You might say he was over handicapping himself, but in reality he is simply not reading the situation properly and does himself a disservice. There is nothing wrong with handicapping yourself as much as you want, but as the video mentioned, you have to seem stronger despite your handicap. Listing your red flags does not do that for you. For example, if you say "I went to a therapist and we found out I am simply an alcoholic. Hahaha! What is a person to do when he has fun with a good company!? Cheers!" - shooting yourself in the foot. On the other hand if you say, "I used to drink a lot in the past. I have recently discovered, with the help of my therapist, that I was a low-key alcoholic. I am currently working on changing this. Only one beer for tonight, though - I am in a good company! Cheers!" - handicapping yourself, but you seem strong for trying to change your problem.
Just be honest. If someone catches you on mistake, let them. If someone assumes that you've archived something you didn't, correct them. If someone (all of that can be woman) outdoes you in smth, don't get envy, angry or competitive. Congratulate them, I guess. Such things don't hurt your identity. Well, they shouldn't.
Being into gaming isn't an embarrassing/low qual trait. Also walking away without giving invitation is still a good practice in most of modern society because there is an absurd amount of people silently requiring you to not be genuine is through the roof. I'm glad you took the time to study this at an in-depth level, it's something I feel like adopting.
I found it hard being confident and able to socialize after being unemployed for almost 14 months because of covid. No matter how I prepare myself for gatherings and social activities, I just shrink back when we get to the topic regarding work. And then I'll just lose my confidence altogether, I'll just sit quietly somewhere and try not to bother anyone. Even after getting my job back, the memories still can be quite painful. Especially to introverts like myself. Piece of advice, if you're an introvert at least try not to be unemployed.
To be fair, the 'slow movement' is done on purpose because if i remember correctly, in The Last Wish book, he moves slower as to not give away that he's fast and strong. Guess that's also a matter of 'confidence' but that's enough on that as the prey, predator behavior goes, it makes also sense given that Geralt is suposed to be an apex hunter of monsters
The reason Geralt is taking so long to respond is me taking so long to determine what option to take in game conversations.

Words are spells on women, specifically. There's many more ways to influence people, and tangible methods are often more effective. But there's a place for them all, even the unsaid. Humans take 80% of environmental information from their eyes, and in social situations, sight tells more about people than their words will usually answer.

Great video! My *summary* of the 4 ways Geralt of Rivia demonstrates confidence:
1. Geralt has slow, languid movements.
○ Deep confidence is about being able to move at a pace that is self-determined rather than environmentally determined
○ Animal kingdom analogy
○ Predator movements = slow and languid; nothing to be afraid of; comfortably energized
□ If you get too lethargic, energize yourself with a stretch or quick breaths
○ Prey movements = herky-jerky; in constant anticipation of danger
□ If this happens, take a deep breath and open your body language to slow down
2. Geralt is very comfortable turning his back on others.
a. Animal kingdom: sign that something is unthreatening / unimportant
i. Only predators can afford that
b. Caution: That will make the other person feel unimportant (to you)!
3. Confident people can afford to handicap themselves. ("Handicap principle")
a. Animal example: male peacock's feathers -> no other purpose than look sexy
b. Example: Say something that might hurt your reputation -> ppl assume you must be strong enough not to need people to like you -> you come across as confident & more likeable
c. How to implement that in everday life? Be less socially calculating and instead more honest in your self-expression, e. g. about your geeky hobbies.
4. Geralt is extremely non-reactive
a. The ability to have a sturdy/resilient emotional center = key creator/indicator of confidence
b. Low reactivity signifies you can handle whatever (stressor, problem etc.) life throws at you
c. Animal kingdom: strong emotional mastery can trump physical strength in dominance battles
d. It's important to recognize your specific emotional triggers; make a list proactively
e. However, that doesn't mean swallowing your emotions; have the courage to be vulnerabe
• What you want is unshakable deep confidence -> the rest (body language etc.) will follow naturally

The peacock’s huge tail does protect it. I’ve seen predators try to get them and they always end up with a mouthful of huge feathers. What is the peacock theory?

I maintained direct eye contact, deflected all verbal attempts at provocation, and seemed practically dismissive. The attention of all this has been interesting, as he has never followed up on his words and has had conversations with multiple people who told him he was essentially in the wrong. Geralt is also a seasoned meditator. Those slow movements and non reactivity can definitely in part be attributed to that.
And if you are wounded you can just meditate and you will be healed. It is complete magic! Apply that instead of looking for a doctor or food.
At the same time, "you gotta start somewhere". ;o)

Something pretty similar happened to me today. My dad basically asked me "How are you holding up ?" *I’m 6ft5 and 380lbs; and spent most of my life “shrinking myself and voice” because people think I’m arrogant for taking up space or because of my deep voice.* I’m a kind and considerate person, but definitely an “alpha male” and I always felt conflicted whether to be myself (ie talk normally - which I’ve been told my voice is intimidating because it’s deep and to sit normally which takes up space because I’m so big), or to be more respectful and try to minimise my space because of my size.
Lol no lie when that gorilla ran up on him and didn’t flinch I was like wtf😂😂 I just need to watch that one clip twice a day
Do you have a link to the gorilla documentary?
lol it never gets old
That's how it looks when you practice your correct philosophy. Evolutionary psychology is real.
@@leolegendary3275 thanks man. That's a really cool distinction
Henry even pulled out the black stone fortress from 40k on the witchercon. He is not afraid of showing his hobbies with enthusiasm
He sounds like Alucard from the Castlevania series.
I love how you compared Geralt to animals. Shows how beastly and spot-on the tv series truly is
Never turn your back on a boss. First law of power. Never outshine a superior.
These videos actually have helped me, I never thought they would.
My take from this video: Don't treat people like zebras.
Your predator/prey comparison has been extremely helpful! I want to thank you for sharing that comparison!
I agree. Henry Cavill and Geralt have amazing body language...his body speaks volumes.
To be fair, the 'slow movement' is done on purpose because if i remember correctly, in The Last Wish book, he moves slower as to not give away that he's fast and strong. Guess that's also a matter of 'confidence' but that's enough on that
as the prey, predator behavior goes, it makes also sense given that Geralt is suposed to be an apex hunter of monsters
