I have received many comments asking me why I choose to show my face in videos and telling me it’s not necessary. It’s gotten to the point where I think I need to address this with a thorough explanation. The answer will be a little long, but bear with me (I have also addressed this before in my Lion King video essay, albeit most people haven’t seen that which is fair). The answer basically comes down to copyright and specifically how UA-cam handles copyright. It has never been a stylistic choice to include my face, rather it was the most practical choice. I have done many essays in the past with just edited clips and voiceover. However, when my channel started getting some traction months ago, there became a time when companies started noticing my content and began manually copyright claiming my videos left and right. This would block the videos out entirely or just from certain countries. The thing is Fair Use/Fair Dealing law only let’s you use copyrighted work for criticism/education/commentary if the use of that work is limited and you include mostly original content that adds value. The original content that is supposed to add value is my essay/critique, yes, but do companies see it that way? Nope. Especially since I was using their content continuously throughout the whole video essay. So if I kept going that way, it would only be a matter of time before my channel gets a strike. And since my channel is small it would be, and still is, easy for a company to strike me, remove my videos, and take down my channel entirely - which they have every right to do. Even the bigger video essayists on UA-cam still deal with this, but the way I see it, since I’m so small, if my channel got removed nobody would care. So I had to find ways to compromise. I wasn’t about to let all my hard work and energy building this thing go to waste. This is also why clips I do include are so short and cutting in weird places. With this format, I can at least say that my case for Fair Use is stronger. The reality is I’m going to have to keep making videos with visually original content in them regardless. But what format that comes in I don’t know (animation? Graphics? Slide shows?). Especially since I’m small, I’ll have to continuously experimenting with my video format to find what works anyways. And a big part of that is to find the right balance between what will avoid copyright issues and is also compelling to watch. Thanks for your patience as I figure this out. I’m open to any suggestions you all have.

His body language, everything about his voice and face is so expressive. I love to watch this Man work. He is so impressive. I love his use of language. I love his power. I love his advice. He is always right and true. When he is wrong, he admits his faults.
just finished s4 and alfie was brilliant this season. i also think in alfie meets luca scene, the reason he had his eyes closed (aside from the story about a blind cousin lol), was to show his power, that he's not afraid of this arrogant and dangerous men, that he's bigger than luca and he could take him with eyes closed, that he could closed his eyes and knew no one will do anything to him, to provoke and ridicule him and challenge luca to take it because luca needed his help. i think it was such a power move.
Alfie is not afraid of violence, in fact he gets a thrill from risk. He deliberately provokes Luca here, and Arthur in the other scene with Tommy & Arthur because he does not care if they try to kill him. Not only does he not care, he thrives on it.
He was the only one who was on intelectual level with tommy. They understands each other, thats why tommy was keep dealing with him, even if he betrayed tommy 3 times. And so Alfie get cancer, and he thinks tommy have to,in the season 3, when they took tommys son, alfie was sad,u could see in his reaction, but he wanted tommy to kill him.And in s4, he even tell tommy where he will be,but tommy didnt wanted to kill him, cus they where kinda bonded. So alfie took out gun, to force tommy to shoot. And in s5, he comes back, and again, tommy trust him,so yeah, he is kinda the only call it a friend to Tommy.
Joel Chadwicks yeah tommy trusts him knowing he cant trust him if that makes sense, like when he accepted that he knew they would take tommys son, at the end of the convo he says ‘i did not know about your boy though’ and tommy says ‘i know alfie’ he was never going to kill him and knew alfie had no idea about his son, tommy was trying to intimidate him
And this is a good point first person I’ve seen to notice how much he really wants tommy to kill him, but tommy knows he needs alfie and can trust him so he wont
Codeine Cobain Tommy doesn’t kill Alfie cos Alfie makes a really good point. If you live by the sword you die by the sword & both of them have put ppl in the exact same position Tommy’s in at the time! He doesn’t know they have his son for sure but knows there’s a big possibility it would happen. He’s trying to point out it goes with their lifestyle. Tommy really hears what he’s saying & he’s actually right!
Yes, Hardy really is a genius. It's a pleasure to watch him on screen. No wonder the British recognized him as the best British actor of the 21st century.🔥👍
You want a summary of Alfie? It's this dialogue Tommy: Hello Alfie. Alfie: Did you look through the binoculars? Tommy: No. Alfie: I watch ships, no two are the same!
Kamran Baig it's a strategy used a lot in negotiations to try to trick the other person into giving you full control of the conversation by bringing up irrelevant points
Alfie is my favorite character from any show I've watched. He's hilarious, witty, unbelievably clever. Tom hardy made a masterpiece🤌 Watching a scene with Tommy being a very serious calculated man and Alfie being sarcastic is hilarious to watch.
Tom Hardy is a beast of a man. His acting in a lot of films is just of the chain amazing. I loved him as Bane, I loved him as the Cray twins, I loved him as Eddie, and I loved him as Alfie. The man is extremely talented and kills it every time.
Alfie is the 'wise old man'' of Camden Town. the 'wandering jew'' who has glasses that can predict the future. ''big fcks small'' words of wisdom. IS it funny how you tube KNEW I was binge watching yesterday.? big fcks small
for me Alfie [a name of a famous movie in 60s + a song title saying ''whats it all about Alfie, is it just for the moment we live?''] sums up every 'godfather-type' movie I have watched since childhood in 50s watching ''untouchables'' on TV. he says to Tommy. ''if you live by the sword, you die by the sword'' ''the honorable thing to do'', not like the infantry but like a 'captain major'' of rank. I notice the writing uses a device of quoting other movie oe popular culture grace says on the phone ''Tommy can you hear me'' fro the movie TOMMY. this happens so many times & why I love this epic drama of characters
Started out standing with his eyes closed and referenced his blind cousin. Very next scene with Alfie is in the backrooms at the boxing match with Thomas Shelby. Once again Alfie begins with his cousin being blind. It's pretty amazing if I tie this altogether correctly. Alfie's statement about his glasses seeing the future is a metaphor for him knowing Thomas would outsmart Luca Changretta.
Alfie meeting Luca was by far one the best Alfie moments. The character of Alfie could only ever be pulled off by Tom Hardy. There would be absolutely no reason at all for the character to even exist if Hardy wasn't the actor portraying him.
@jack daniels The "dog" they were talking about wasnt an actual dog. It was Tommys "bad blood" with Alfie. Thats why Tommy said the dog was fine. So that line you are asking about should be clear now.
The casting for this is just about perfect. I can't imagine anyone else playing complex Alfie . I feel the same way about Tommy. Others could play any of the roles but many of the characters, such as those two, Polly, and Arthur seem born to play those roles. It is not often that a film or series has so many roles filled by people who seem born for the role. Luca being another example. I was thrilled to see that Alfie had survived getting shot in the face. He was a character I didn't want to say good bye to. This is a great video, thanks.
I loved the way he outwitted and humiliated Luca. Brilliant scene. And that great outburst of fury when he convinced cillian not to kill him due to code of honour and the hypocrisy of his reason for wanting to kill him Again brilliant and mesmerizing
Tom Hardy is DEFINITELY one of my favorite performers and he NEVER disappoints. Brings the characters to life to the point of shock, awe, and pure devastation. His portrayal of Alfie Solomons has to be one of his best to date. You couldn't be more spot on about this character; he commands the room, palpable menace-he gives no quarter. He does sound cryptic and just when you think he's simply talkin' smack you realize he's either making a point or two-or he's watching you to study your reactions.....your tells. Then, just when you think he's all pitbull and he's blowing up at Tommy in the "Crossing the line" scene, you realize he wouldn't be chewing him out if he didn't care. Alfie holds Tommy Shelby in high regard but Tommy had to EARN it.
I just started watching small clips of the show . I was amazed at Alfie's cariture. Always captivates me when he was on screen. But it was just now I understood who the actor was playing him. I was gobsmacked. Never would I have guessed that it was Tom Hardy. He is one of my favorite actors. All his past cariture were bigger than life and he played them as such. A great actor. But he does not look at all like what I expected, and his accent is amazingly deceptive and authentic sounding right down to the spitting and face and mouth shapes . He has done one of the best acting ever with this cariture I have ever seen in my 57 years. Amazed I am.
Alfie really is a captivating character. The "You crossed the line" exchange between Tommy and Alfie is one of the best in the series. "Listen sweetie, you can't take a man... I mean Tommy, there were things in that treasury, right? God himself spoke to me and he said, 'Alfie, you are meant to have these things.' " "You crossed the line Alfie."
The fact that Alfie talks is a great juxtaposition between him and Tommy. They are foils for each other. And also, the acting chops of Murphy and Hardy, their different approaches, highlights their characters' interactions even more.
I cant unhear Bane in his voice.....love the UK accents....everything i watch is UK connected....Peaky Blinders, Top Boy, Legend....and UK biggest secret.....DOWN TERRACE....anyways Hardy is my favorite actor...his range, body language, eye contact....everything he does commands the screen
Watched season 1 of Peaky Blinders and some of season 2 but when I saw Tom Hardy was there, I decided to watch the rest of the series. A truly intriguing character and stealing each scene hes in is a truly underrated feat
The brilliance of Alfie, is the reason he talks is because you have to sit and understand what he’s trying to say, but while you’re trying to figure it out it keeps you a step behind him in present time. It allows him to put you in the defensive and lose track of what your purpose of the conversation may have been
Best thing is, his certainty is adaptable, most times he's completely confident that he'll find his place in the new reality no matter how much the threat is
Alfie's introduction of his nephew/Goliath is one of the funniest things I've heard in recent TV history. Excellent writing, excellent acting, excellent show and my favourite character from it.
Tom Hardy is easily one of the most talented actors working right now....I didn’t recognize him in the “Revenant” until about 5 minutes in to his 1st scene....& what he’s able to do with voices ? The only other actor I’ve seen who can effortlessly change his voice & make it believable is Johnny Depp,Hardy will win a Best Actor Oscar one day no doubt about it
SCENE 3- "LIVE BY THE SWORD DIE BY THE SWORD". Alfie's character is suppose to show that alfie and tommy is the same person. They both use reason for ANY action. Alfie demands that tommy admits his anger is ' hypocritical', "unjustified.
I love tommys character. He's amazing. Alfie Solomons is never not entertaining s-tier entertainment. Top moment is when he is analyzing the Russian jewels and mentions how Russians killed his mother and the way it happened.
I don't think Alfie was trying to "snap Tommy back to reality" with his 'Cross the line' monologue. I think he was incensed by Tommy's self-delusion that he was somehow above the betrayal and Hughes kidnapping his boy. As we learn next season he has skin cancer and wants to die. Perhaps that deathwish was subconscious back in season 3 and he wanted to provoke Tommy into killing him. The trouble is that everything he said about him was true and Alfie is too useful for Tommy to murder him.
Tom Hardy is in the same vein of actor as people like Gary Oldman. He's a chameleon. Sometimes, I don't even notice that it's him playing a character until I closely examine the end credits.
All the cast of the “ Peaky Blinders” are formidable, oze talent, great script writing, is an automatic recipe for success. Perfect Casting, is a matter of luck and timing, to get such a great amount of talent, that produces programmes, like “ The Peaky Blinders “ and Taboo, with the lovely Jessie Buckley.
When Alfie meets Arthur "that,s wonderful Arthur ..etc. I find it a moment of brilliance. Arthur,s hand grips the ashtray as Alfie speaks, Arthur barely controlling himself. The ultimate windup..
Five seasons in I still think my favorite scene of Alfie is his introduction. When he's waddling around his warehouse and walks by a small burst of fire he waves his hand and says "Bloody hell, calm down lads." It makes me laugh every time. the creative director has been using explosive fires since season 1 to add to the feeling of danger and industry that none of the characters jumps or even blink at. Then all of the sudden you have this man doing the same thing, walking by this burst of fire and he's like "alright alright I get it, calm down." I've heard from interviews there's little to no improve in the scenes but Tom Hardy must be the exception and I feel like that must've been improved as well. The man is a genius at his craft.
If people like Tom Hardy’s work. There’s a novel written by Martina Cole on her books “The Take” it got made into a drama series. His role & performance in that is what impressed me first with his acting
I have loved T.H since I can remember.. C.M Caught my eye awhile ago but when he was in Batman I noticed his inner psycho . I've been waiting for it to be tapped into.. and with the chemistry of the 2 together in this way... Epic
Alfie is a genius and is always 2 steps ahead. His talking alot has meaning behind it all. It is a destraction decoy to keep his opponents frustranted and confused on his ramblings. He uses it to extract info from his opponents and test their motivea.
„How many fathers, how many sons, yeah have you cut killed murdered fucking butchered innocent and guilty to send 'em straight to fucking hell ain‘t ya. JUST LIKE ME.“ What a delivery, gave me mad chills
Tom Hardy nailed the role of Alfie Solomons. Everything said about Hardys portrayal of Alfie is exactly how I explain him to people who never seen it. If Tom Hardy doesn't get an Emmy for this role it would be absolute criminal. Excellent video new sub and looking forward at watching your other videos. Oh yeah your Thomas Shelby video was very well done too.
in a full circle moment i find it really interesting that it’s michael of all people to witness the “crossing the line” scene because not only is it is first kill, now thrusting him into that life but the line “he who lives by the sword, dies by it” as michael is the only one in this scene to do so, crossing that line when he tried to kill his own family and failing.
Tommy and Alfie were almost equal. They both realize that and that's the reason they have mutual respect towards each other. Too bad Alfie still had to give him away to Luca. He already had cancer at that point, which makes me wonder about his motivation. Tommy shooting him in the end is for mercy towards a good friend. 'Sometimes death is a kindness'
Absolutely loved what you said about the scene at 11:00, my other favorite moment of Alfie's is the scene in the russian vault (S3 EP5), when you find out he speaks russian it gave me the unsettled feeling of "Oh shit, was there another layer to why he is here?", the fact he came from being bound and 'powerless' to commanding the room was what sold it for me, absolutely love this character; easily my favorite with late season Aberama coming in second. Terrific video aswell, thoroughly enjoyed seeing the breakdowns of his moments, can only hope you do my favorite and more!
Alfie is Jewish, and his backstory includes Russian troubles. He also speaks Italian, definitely German and Yiddish. Aneshkanzi Jews settled throughout Central and Eastern Europe during to diaspora.
I love this series and I love the Alfie character. "Keeps you on the edge of your seat" is spot on. Pretty much all the acting in this series is fabulous, but Hardy and Murphy are the cream.
Fans should check out "Legend" in which Tom Hardy played *both* main characters. It's the true story of a pair of twins who ruled London gangland in the 1960s.
I'd add that the closest comparison to Tom Hardy as Alfie is Tom Hardy as James Keziah Delaney in "Taboo." The same self-assured "good bear, bad bear, scary bear" dominating character. Perfect casting!
i’m sure you wanted to avoid a major spoiler but another key alfie moment was the last episode of s4 when he and tommy are on the beach and he knows what tommy’s intention is and he fools tommy into thinking that he’s unarmed by playing on tommy’s emotions as he talks about the cancer he has. such a powerful scene
I feel like I can realate to Alfie because he makes crazy remarks to obtain a response out of people. I'm a firm believer that he's a psychological chest player he throws people off with his disturbing behavior. By doing so his social accomplices, opposite or victim gets caught up in his own emotional response based on his own behavior in results his opposite is thrown off in how to respond giving Alfie leverage to take control of the business proposition all in the name of social experimentation. Love it Alfie it takes balls and risk to take such gambles.
He’s my favorite PB character, and I’ve been waiting for this video since you posted the Thomas Shelby one, why did I find it just now randomly? On another note, excellent video, I just noticed things I never had before, like Thomas telling Alfie he knew about the gun to his right, and then Alfie pulling a gun from the left while talking about how intelligence many times comes too late. It was right there and I never picked up on it. One scene that illustrated everything you mentioned (him using dialogue as a weapon, making people uncomfortable and freaking them out with his unpredictability) was the one where he was talking with the Russians and caught them trying to screw him and Thomas over.
There's a bit of crossover with his Ronnie Kray performance - both unpredictable, intelligent and extremely scary men. Thing with Tom is you sincerely believe it, almost as though he has something dark in his real life past - he either does or is unimaginably good at his craft...

I adore this character. He is interesting, intelligent, gorgeous, funny, heartfelt, everything he says is dead on truth. He is amazing. His body language, everything about his voice and face is so expressive. I love to watch this Man work. He is so impressive. I love his use of language. I love his power. I love his advice. He is always right and true. When he is wrong, he admits his faults.
Agree with you on every point, mate. Tom Hardy as Alfie is modern Shakespeare.
just finished s4 and alfie was brilliant this season. i also think in alfie meets luca scene, the reason he had his eyes closed (aside from the story about a blind cousin lol), was to show his power, that he's not afraid of this arrogant and dangerous men, that he's bigger than luca and he could take him with eyes closed, that he could closed his eyes and knew no one will do anything to him, to provoke and ridicule him and challenge luca to take it because luca needed his help. i think it was such a power move.
Also just to make Luca understand that he was not nearly one of the most important things in his life.
Absolutely love that scene. Among many others.
I think he is the only person Tommy listens to besides Polly
@@joeltakudzwa true
Even Luca (Adrien) got destroyed by Alfie's acting aura.. Tom Hardy is one of the supremely talented young actors of present time
Tom is the reason i started watching Peaky Blinders. Cillian is great too, but Hardy is a genius. He had me convinced since Lawless.
Yes, Hardy really is a genius. It's a pleasure to watch him on screen. No wonder the British recognized him as the best British actor of the 21st century.🔥👍
Alfie talks a lot
But you dont wanna miss any word
He talks enough bullshit so that when he speaks the truth, people don't know he is telling it.
I would love a spin-off series of Alfie. TH was incredible in that role.

You want a summary of Alfie? It's this dialogue
Tommy: Hello Alfie.
Alfie: Did you look through the binoculars?
Tommy: No.
Alfie: I watch ships, no two are the same!
I love the way Tommy says no to him: are you gonna look after this dog?
No.
Can you elaborate on this?
Is it that how precise he is? How he notices things no other can?

I have to be honest and admit that I didn't realise that Alfie was actually Tom Hardy.... what brilliant acting...Tom is a master of the craft
Alfie is my favorite character from any show I've watched. He's hilarious, witty, unbelievably clever. Tom hardy made a masterpiece🤌
Watching a scene with Tommy being a very serious calculated man and Alfie being sarcastic is hilarious to watch.
Tom Hardy is a beast of a man. His acting in a lot of films is just of the chain amazing. I loved him as Bane, I loved him as the Cray twins, I loved him as Eddie, and I loved him as Alfie. The man is extremely talented and kills it every time.
Yes👍👍👍
Alfie is the 'wise old man'' of Camden Town. the 'wandering jew'' who has glasses that can predict the future. ''big fcks small'' words of wisdom.
IS it funny how you tube KNEW I was binge watching yesterday.?
big fcks small
for me Alfie [a name of a famous movie in 60s + a song title saying
''whats it all about Alfie, is it just for the moment we live?'']
sums up every 'godfather-type' movie I have watched since childhood in 50s watching ''untouchables'' on TV.
he says to Tommy. ''if you live by the sword, you die by the sword'' ''the honorable thing to do'', not like the infantry but like a 'captain major'' of rank.
I notice the writing uses a device of quoting other movie oe popular culture
grace says on the phone ''Tommy can you hear me'' fro the movie TOMMY. this happens so many times & why I love this epic drama of characters
I love when he meets Luca that he is sitting down but Luca is standing. Still, he dominates the room.
Alfie Solomons is one of the greatest character creations in Television History
Best line between Tommy and Alfie by far.
Tommy : ok 10 grand then and you can have your dog back.
Alfie : no its better that he thinks I'm dead
😂😂😂😂😂
@jack daniels The "dog" they were talking about wasnt an actual dog. It was Tommys "bad blood" with Alfie. Thats why Tommy said the dog was fine. So that line you are asking about should be clear now.
mmm6325 but there is actually a dog too that tommy now looks after
The casting for this is just about perfect.
"and another 100 pounds because you are a focking wop mate"

I loved the way he outwitted and humiliated Luca. Brilliant scene. And that great outburst of fury when he convinced cillian not to kill him due to code of honour and the hypocrisy of his reason for wanting to kill him
Again brilliant and mesmerizing
Says Luca but also days Cillian. Riiiiight..

That “crossed the line” scene was the absolute best. Tom hardy was genius in that scene. The way he called out Tom’s blatant hypocrisy.. so good.
The way he says yeah” after every sentence made me like his character alot
Haha... it' s such a commonly used speech pattern in the UK, i would guess most English and Scots barely recall hearing the word from Alfie
This is how you write an intelligent and brash character and how you portray him. It’s absolutely brilliant the 2 mixtures
Вам 100000 лайков. Вы выразили то, что у меня вертелось в голове. Привет из России ❤
That crossing the Line performance by Tom Hardy is one of the best bits of acting I have ever seen, masterful.
Alfie is lowkey funny af
dahc bats nah man not even low-key, just high-key
Ummmm. High key….
Alfie's accent is great.... guttural, almost groaning.
His witty sarcasm and humor is endearing. Kind of the perfect friendemy.
It allows him to put you in the defensive and lose track of what your purpose of the conversation may have been
He has an air absolute certainty!! my favourite character
Best thing is, his certainty is adaptable, most times he's completely confident that he'll find his place in the new reality no matter how much the threat is
*air of absolute Jewish certainty
Alfie's introduction of his nephew/Goliath is one of the funniest things I've heard in recent TV history.
Excellent writing, excellent acting, excellent show and my favourite character from it.
Faxx i have laughed at that scene so many times🤣
And that delivery was perfect
Watch Tom Hardy in Taboo. One of the greatest living actors hands down
Agree 100%
Emotional Maturity: thats where Alfie is the best than any character.
Also if I am not mistaken at that time is the point where Tommy started going in his existantional crisis. So Tommy was gratefull for Alfies words.

To me that only started in Season 4
Wat y’all not talking bout is alfie is smart af he has access to information to were he can see the future
If you haven't seen "Legend" yet... Please do. Tom Hardy playing gangster twin brothers. Absolute masterclass in acting.
Tom is just so good, Forrest Bondurant and the Kray brothers are also incredible performances.

This series is just beyond any Television series I have seen in my short life.
Alfie is just a crazy bastard, love the character so much, Tom Hardy is brilliant in the role
That’s the jest of it…….also he is acutely intelligent…….
When Alfie meets Arthur "that,s wonderful Arthur ..etc. I find it a moment of brilliance. Arthur,s hand grips the ashtray as Alfie speaks, Arthur barely controlling himself. The ultimate windup..
You should go watch lawless, Hardy incorporates a lot of that intimidating presence from his role as Forest in Lawless with Shia la beouf.
Tom hardy is an awesome actor could listen to his voice all day
If people like Tom Hardy’s work. There’s a novel written by Martina Cole on her books “The Take” it got made into a drama series. His role & performance in that is what impressed me first with his acting
Полностью согласна. Самый любимый фильм с Харди❤
Alfie Solomons' best Moments: every scene he's in!
I have loved T.H since I can remember.. C.M Caught my eye awhile ago but when he was in Batman I noticed his inner psycho . I've been waiting for it to be tapped into.. and with the chemistry of the 2 together in this way... Epic
The crossing the line scene is so powerful.
Alfie is a genius and is always 2 steps ahead. His talking alot has meaning behind it all. It is a destraction decoy to keep his opponents frustranted and confused on his ramblings. He uses it to extract info from his opponents and test their motivea.
When Alfie meets Aberama Gold and Bonny . Toma improv in this scene is outstanding
„How many fathers, how many sons, yeah have you cut killed murdered fucking butchered innocent and guilty to send 'em straight to fucking hell ain‘t ya. JUST LIKE ME.“
What a delivery, gave me mad chills
Tom Hardy nailed the role of Alfie Solomons. Everything said about Hardys portrayal of Alfie is exactly how I explain him to people who never seen it. If Tom Hardy doesn't get an Emmy for this role it would be absolute criminal. Excellent video new sub and looking forward at watching your other videos. Oh yeah your Thomas Shelby video was very well done too.
Couldn't agree with you more. I was glad to see him back and working with Tommy. For a price of course. Alfie stole every scene he was in.
in a full circle moment i find it really interesting that it’s michael of all people to witness the “crossing the line” scene because not only is it is first kill, now thrusting him into that life but the line “he who lives by the sword, dies by it” as michael is the only one in this scene to do so, crossing that line when he tried to kill his own family and failing.
Tom Hardy is a beast of an actor! Protect him at all costs!
His performance in Lawless is equally stellar.
Tom Hardy....PB, Lawless, The Drop, Warrior....in my opinion he is the best!
Legend.....
On my second watch through of Peaky Blinders I started noticing how much influence Alfie really has over EVERYONE and its honestly terrifying 😅
The thing is people cant truly understand how amazing this acting is unless they have met such a person in their life
Yup, Tom Hardy for you. Definately top 3 best actors imo.
Yeah didn’t the Russians do something to his parents?
Alfie is Jewish, and his backstory includes Russian troubles. He also speaks Italian, definitely German and Yiddish. Aneshkanzi Jews settled throughout Central and Eastern Europe during to diaspora.
charles dance and tom hardy are the masters of screen presence. when they are on screen everybody else seem insignificant
The casting for this show was just phenomenal
I just realised: Cillian Murphy aka Tommy played the Scarecrow and Tom Hardy aka Alfie played Bane in Christopher Nolans Batman trilogy
They’re also both in Inception.
Best character ever......If this is hell, well, it looks a lot like Margate
I live in the Margate - he's not entirely wrong...
There's a bit of crossover with his Ronnie Kray performance - both unpredictable, intelligent and extremely scary men. Thing with Tom is you sincerely believe it, almost as though he has something dark in his real life past - he either does or is unimaginably good at his craft...
Why There is no mention of his brilliant role in taboo ..no one seems to know about it 🤔
