I don't use Duller at all, and i knock the myth that the shoes shouldn't look like there painted. I actually love that u can tell tht the shoes are painted i think thts one of the unique things to separate it from factory looking shoes. In all the ppl i painted shoes for i honestly never had one complaint about them shining i even had a some ppl who wanted them to shine. Weather its Matte, Flat, Gloss etc, I think the focus should be whatever the customer wants.
Sure I’ve said plenty of times here on our channel that you want the shoes to have a unique painted look cause they’re pieces of art... but you don’t want them to look unprofessionally painted which happens a majority of the time when you have a sheen. Of course you’re allowed to enjoy a more glossy look than normal but I think matte just always gives the cleanest factory look which I think is the lines youre trying to walk.. almost has a factory look but still clearly done by an artist
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Actually I never experienced that problem I'm able to maintain a professional look every single time they have a Sheen or shine. No matter the finish I think it's about properly detailing your work after painting the shoes and going over significant lines that create a professional look. Personally I don't want a natural factory looking shoe if thts the case ppl might as well buy graphic colorful designed shoes and don't even bother with getting custom painted shoes. I honestly never had 1 complaint about my shoes shining or having a Sheen I even had some ppl who preferred it. I want my custom painted shoes to look like art.
I mixed the duller with my paint and once I was finished with that I got ready to apply the matte finisher with some duller in it and after it dried there were almost like chalky streaks. Do you know why this could’ve happened or how to fix it ? Did the same steps on the other shoe and it came out looking fine.
Can you combine angelus 2 soft and Ángeles duller into your paint or is it on or the other ? And can 2 soft be used as a thinner or do you need to get angelus 2 thin?

No that’s a film hardener for paintings on plastics
Let’s say I’ll be using an airbrush which obviously needs 2-thin how would the ratios change with the duller and 2-thin?
Also if let’s say I was doing canvas then it would be 2-thin, 2-soft, duller, and the paint how would you recommend splitting those up?
60/30/10
You don’t need 2thin if you’re already using 2 soft, it will replace the thinner
I appreciate you very Much My Brother...I cant wait to purchase my 1st Airbrush machine...Have A Blessed One
Can I mix Satin Finisher with Duller?
Yes
To paint bottom sole black what are the recommendations for paints?
Anytime you paint soles they’re going to crack no matter what you do unfortuantely
DeJesus Custom Footwear What if I just painted the side sole of Lebron 17 ‘James Gang’ and applied a finisher?
KK3 will crack right away
How much is the duller?
angelusdirect.com/products/duller
so duller is use on paint that isn't the flat paint since flat paint has a duller in it already?
david blizzy in a nutshell, yes
Nobody has mentioned any of this . Awesome channel !!!
hi do you find that there is a big difference between the matt finisher and the usual finisher?
Absolutely! Even the matte needs additional duller
Where do i get duller other than the angelus store? I'm not paying 55€ for shipping.
Maybe Amazon
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Thanks! Found some and it cost me 16€ instead of 62€. Love your channel! 😁
Hey guys, i’ve recently completed my custom af1 shoes. My question is if the matte finisher is water/dirt resistant, and if not can i apply a polish type product that does protect from water and dirt? Thanks!
I don’t believe it’s needed as I think the finisher does enough, but you can apply a water/stain repellant on top of the finisher if you want
DeJesus Custom Footwear ok thank you so much for the help :)
Can your duller be brought back from drying out meaning is it reusable after our has dried out ?
No I don’t belive so. I recommend switching to the angelus 4 coat nowadays also, no need for duller anymore
Okay thanks
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear so is 2 hard the equivalent to adhesion promoter? Because I bought some of that and now I’m realizing my 2 hard is also dried out, could I use that instead?
@@jayalexander929 that’s awesome to hear man, great thing about being custom is we can all be different and still have it our preferred way .
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Exactly isn't that the beauty of Art? No way is a wrong way.
I mixed the duller with my paint and once I was finished with that I got ready to apply the matte finisher with some duller in it and after it dried there were almost like chalky streaks. Do you know why this could’ve happened or how to fix it ? Did the same steps on the other shoe and it came out looking fine.
How much duller did you use? Might’ve put in too much
What ratios do you use if you are mixing 2 soft, duller, and paint together?
Probably 45,45,10
Paint 2 soft duller
What if you use a flat black angelus paint ? Do I still need a filler ?
Duller*
Yes, still use duller
Can you combine angelus 2 soft and Ángeles duller into your paint or is it on or the other ? And can 2 soft be used as a thinner or do you need to get angelus 2 thin?
Yes you can combine them, 2 soft works as a thinner if you’re airbrushing onto softer materials
