    I bought an SRM225 off my sister that bought a bunch of Echo equipment from an estate sale of a friend of hers and these pieces of equipment were either brand new or used once or twice. I bought one SRM225 years ago and returned it for the SRM 230 because it was so underpowered. I got into modifying the mufflers the past few years and found they gain a ton of power and run much cooler when you gut the catalyst out of the muffler. This SRM225 I bought off my sister, sounded way louder and ran way stronger than the PE225 edger she bought along with that SRM225. I took the muffler off to find it was lacking a catalytic converter from the factory when it should have had one. The thing has almost double the power the SRM225 I bought brand new in 2009. I did this to my SRM266 also, and that thing is a grass ripping beast after gutting the catalyst and retuning the high side mixture adjustment.

    Can't believe I have yet to watch this video🤦‍♂. Nice video brother. I am a stihl guy and for lightweight daily use, I find it hard to beat the FS94r, I have 2 of them. I used to run the FS90R (possibly the greatest trimmer ever), still have it after 9 yrs, has a brush blade on it now. I have held a 225 in the store and it feels heavier than the FS94r to me. Hope to see more videos soon man, keep grinding and be safe out there! 💪😎💯

    Thanks, man. I've always used Stihl for the last 30 years but all of a sudden, neither Lowe's nor Home Depot carry Stihl any longer and instead, some dedicated yard service company does....and the last time I got a new pull string on my Stihl ...it took them THREE MONTHS to get it fixed so no more Stihls for me.
    I like the torque you mentioned on the Husq. I think I'll try that so muchas gracias (that's Thanks a bunch" in Spanish, which I'm learning at the present time. Take it easy and thanks again.

      535ls or the 430ls are probably thr best overall for power and reliability. The 525 is great for medium use. It's smooth, quiet, medium/high powered, and easy to start.

      Try a redmax 260ts. Same weight as the Husqvarna 525lst and same high torque gear head also as the 525lst. I've used the redmax for three years now daily ad never been to a shop and so light . Like 10 pounds

    Nice review 👊 That trimmer is around 6 years old and hasn't been to the shop except for abuse, we've dropped a tree on it one time and Caleb ran it over once, both times it did have to have the shaft replaced but it keeps going.
    If you want bigger than I would try the ECHO 3020, that thing is a beast and it has the widest cutting width when you leave the guard on than any other trimmer out there.

    If you have been using one brand for so long, it's hard to change it up. I like my echo's too. Have you tried the 2620T? That is my go to now and the 225's are back ups. Great video Jon!

    I’m a big fan of the Echo 225 for everyday use. Would like to someday get a heavy duty trimmer brush cutter like the SRM-410. I believe the power head is 42.7cc.

    I recently switched back to Echo myself. I also have a 225, which is stronger than the Husq 322 which I was using. So I prefer the Echo now. BUT, I also have a Husqvarna 535 at 35cc and that sucker has some torque! I'll be doing a video with it this year because I got an oversized brush cutting head designed for larger displacement trimmers. I'll let you know, or you can just watch that video when I make it. It will tell the tale on how that big 2 horsepower trimmer does the rough stuff.

    I help my buddy cut some yards on the weekends and he's got a Husqvarna 122LK trimmer and I like this thing pretty well. It's not bad. Granted I've not really had my hands on a large number of different weed trimmers to really be doing any comparisons. I can't remember which model it was but some years back I purchased a little cheap ass Echo weed trimmer and honestly it was kinda a beast for the price lol(it was the cheapest Echo weed trimmer walmart carried at the time) It handled everything I needed it to and some of the places I had to cut required some extensive long periods of time I was running that thing wide open and dude held up like a champ. I've had some trimmers that after you get those things running so hot and then have to stop cause you ran out of gas or something they simply said NOPE when you tried to fire the thing back up until it really had a long break lol

    • @JonsDailyHustle
      @JonsDailyHustle  Рік тому +1

      Yep, I've had my fair share of those types of trimmers as well lol. I'm currently running a cheap trimmer from Walmart it's a hyper tough brand, and I absolutely love it. I've been beating on it pretty hard for a while now and still really impressed with it so far

      @@JonsDailyHustle haha I swear that's the same one I've got at the moment too lol. I hadn't really tried out much of anything from Hyper Tough until I purchased this weed trimmer 2 years ago and honestly mines been great too., I think I gave like $118 for it or something like that.

    • @JonsDailyHustle
      @JonsDailyHustle  Рік тому +1

      @terrancepemberton4648 I did not expect the trimmer to do as well as it has lol. Thought it would last only a few cuts and be junk. I was just looking today and they are priced right at 118$ for me now as well. Still, 118$ is a very great price lol

    • @terrancepemberton4648
      @terrancepemberton4648 Рік тому

      @@JonsDailyHustle right lol. I really didn't have high expectations for my weed trimmer at first but it's been great. But yeah I'd definitely say at $118 it's a great value. Hell something at that price if you manage to get thru 2 to 3 summers just cutting your own lawn then I'd say you've more than gotten your money's worth. My only complaint with it(as well as basically ALL weed trimmers) is I wish my shaft was a bit longer...*cough...I mean my weed trimmer's shaft 😂 Cause I'm on the taller side(well I'm 6'1) and If they made the shaft a mere 2 to 4 inches longer my back would GREATLY appreciate it!! I have sciatica that flares up from time to time and swinging a weed trimmer around for long periods of time kills my back!! No way in hell would I ever buy one with a curved shaft either, but still wish the straight shafts were a bit longer.

    11.2 without guard on 225 and the commercial husky 525ls is 10.4. That small 225 echo is 1 lb heavier. I had to look cuz i feel that extra pound on my 225 over my 525ls. Echo are some of the heaviest out there. Then add the weight of ur gorilla on top of that. i have a small scale to weigh mine. u should get u one and compare with that gorilla thing . but yea the 225 has no power. it is a homeowner trimmer though to be fair. try 525lst or least echo 2620t. but 2620t is super heavy. sorry bud i can talk trimmers for days lol
