hi friend, I have a Toyota Avensis 2016, the steering rods are fine, the tips too, on an uneven country road something also knocks but not monotonously somewhere in the instrument panel ... but on a smooth road there is none...
Do you know if this same damper is used on a 2012 toyota highlander? I have the same steering noise. It looks like that particular damper is used on many models but I can't figure out if mine is covered
2011 Corolla E steering. No rattling but I sure seems have some play in it 100k. Tie rod ends are fine, dealer claims nothing is wrong. Is this the same problem? Saw a video on pulling out the column...not fun job, especially for home gamer.
Most of time everything is good on steering system & all we need is a $10-$20 part. Safe u 💵 . check damper first before buying tie Rods ends bushing A-arms Racknpinion bearings Rotors brakes tires n mores
to get to that point to actually remove the damper is how the video should be; Toyota managed to design something to fail. $ 6 dollar part, $400 in labor.
$400? I believe the charge was up to $3k the funny thing is that there is a bulletin for this issue but instead the entire steering wheel column would be changed out. Lexus TSB L-SB-0026-11
Is this the same dampener in a 2015 venza? Lately my car feels like I’m constantly having to correct steering and I have a clicking noise when I turn the wheel
Hello my dear friend. Thank you for the video. I replaced the damper with a new one, added lubrication, but my noise did not disappear. the old damper was not destroyed. help me what should i do

How much to do the same job on the same car ?
Can you just change this , reassemble and it’s ok . Or do you need to do a reset / basic setting with the computer afterwards ? Thanks
I swear my steering wheel don't come back to normal even after a reset..

If it wasn't the dampener it might be the intermediate shaft of the steering linkage. Typically that goes out on cars,
