Hello Carving is Fun, thank you for your response. It's great to provide these details. I will look. I sculpted the cat and received lots of congratulations and fans. my pleasure is sculpting and offering.
Thank you for your wonderful posts. This is true whittling. A knife and a piece of wood. Perfect for sitting under a tree or on the porch. It’s As much meditation as carving. Anyone with a sharp pocketknife can do it. Hurray for you, sir....
Thank you for the amazing content! I bought the beavercraft spoon starter kit and like it a lot. I made your fox 2 times, a spoon, started your flower tutorial but cut of the tip of my finger, whilst working on it, a part of the flower split off. Recovered now after 3weeks and still in a bandage, I just made this bunny. This hobby is so relaxing (and a bit dangerous), keep up the good work!!!
Planning on making this for my Girlfriend, it's our first anniversary in January and she loves rabbits (have 2 pet rabbits). Wish me luck! Thank you for the video!
I've learned so much from all your wonderful videos! Thank you for dedicating time to share your expertise, you have enabled me to discover a new hobby - just finished my bunny and I couldn't be happier! One thing I found very challenging was trying to visualise a 3D object from a 2D drawing but your step-by-step really helped the process
Just found this video and I was looking for something exactly like this for a person asking me for a beginner carving. Also, I can sure tell the difference between a Beavercraft and your Helvies!
Great fun and relaxing too. I like the format with the side window. Well done. Would you do something on finishes (oil, paint, etc), or is that not your thing? I visited your website too. I like it - it's got your clear, simple style and well thought out. Thank you. 👍
Thanks! I have been collecting finishes and will do a video on them in the future once I learn more and experiment some. Right now I am liking watercolors and stains, but want to experiment more with waxes and lacquers before I make the video.
Once you are able to visualize what to do next, the whole process becomes faster as your more confident in your cuts. This extends to carving your own creations without any guides as well :)
Hey, absolute beginner here with an embarrassingly easy question: what do you use to cut your basswood pieces in half for smaller projects like these? I can only get the longer basswood pieces and I don't have any tools except my carving knife. I'd appreciate a reply. Cheers!
Just an older video before I saved up some extra money and got the tools I have now. I also think I was rushing more to keep the video shorter, so made some bigger cuts. All the process of becoming a better youtube creator I guess.
Howdy! I do have a bunny project where it is sitting up and the ears are pointed up: ua-cam.com/video/eG88Ny-hNOc/v-deo.html Both Flexcut and Beavercraft are decent, but Flexcut is a bit nicer.

You're welcome!
It is very much like meditation as you can focus and enjoy a simple task right in your hands.
This chubby bunny made me smile. ☺️

With some adjustments one could make bunny shaped beads for a necklace or a bracelet
I like this one better than the other rabbit😀
Thanks! This one was really fun to make :)
Amei esse trabalho ❤
Thank you for tutorial l will try to do him tomorrow
You're welcome, have fun!

@@CarvingisFun Carving is Fun That's great. I look forward to seeing it. 👍
I did this one again. The first time it took two hours, this time it took less than one :)

I just use a basic hacksaw or the saw on my multitool :)
@@CarvingisFun thanks a bunch, bud, appreciate it!
Rebonsoir Carving is fun, le lapin assis auquel je fais allusion est celui que l’on peut voir sur votre logo.
Yep, I have that video here: ua-cam.com/video/t1skFDPTeaM/v-deo.html
It isn't a tutorial but is one of my very first videos I made on the channel.
This is a different knife than I usually see you use. It also appears you were making bigger cuts. Are those two things correlated?
Just an older video before I saved up some extra money and got the tools I have now.

@@CarvingisFun fair enough. Another great follow along. Thank you
Could you do a five minute wizard video plz
I can add it to my list, it may be a little while till I get to it.
Thank you very much
