The video clips on this channel are segments of videos taken from videos originally posted on the Hickok45 UA-cam channel. John always includes a link to the original video from which the clip is taken.

I'm more impressed by Hickok's eyesight, being able to see that target at 220 yards without a scope!
the amazing world of optometry… he wears glasses 🙄
@@archer721Still impressive even with corrective lenses, courtesy of “the amazing world of optometry”…
I've been wearing glasses since I was 6 years old. 200 yards looks farther away every year...😂
@@azmaximus5050
The problem is being able to see the sights in conjunction with the target. Near field vision.
@@seeharvester ok?
“I must be living right”- Hickok 45
I was going to say that very thing, you doing something right! lol It’s amazing how video from days gone by can whip years off and make you look like a kid, well almost.
That is outstanding marksmanship!👍
Love seeing this re-post.... watched it YEARS ago.. Mr. H is an inspiration to all 2A supporters.
Hickock never fails to impress me.
Your boyish laughter at hitting the target is contagious‼️ I and my friends have laughed the same way at the range. Boys never grow up, we just get older. 😂 👍✌️☮️
Is that what they mean by "Good old boys"?
@@seeharvester sure why not 😁
Ya gotta love it! The lag between "bang" and "ping" was outrageous for a pistol.
Awesome demonstration. Thanks much!!!
Hickok is a legend
We used to peg targets at 150meters with the model 92 in the service. Tell the kids about reverse slope, might be interesting
My comment was wiped by higher powers I guess... Well, to each his own. Hickok45 rules anyway! Sincere respect from Russia!
Russia? No thanks. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
TELL ME U KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW AMERICA BECAME THE GREATEST COUNTRY, WITHOUT TELLING ME!@@MishMash22
@@MishMash22 The poster never asked you to go to Russia. He said he was in Russia.
Amazing isn’t it?
@@wisenber I can respect it can be hard to identify irony online.
And that’s my version of gun control! Nicely done.
Amen, very good Gun-control!!!
do NOT get into a gunfight with this man !
My thoughts exactly!😃😃
What a cool clip. Thanks John.
Heck, I would play hell trying to hit the close targets. Truly a real Marksman.
I can't see that far...but I'm glad there are folks who can...
LOL!😂
Ditto!
Mr. H enters long range precision rifle match w/ Bond Arms Derringer! 😊
BANG .. .. pongg HAHAA
Mr. H. on the 'job' 👍
Very nicely done! What great fun!
I'm looking for land in Tenn, KY, and MO. One of the "must haves" is 200 yards to shoot. But I, being a mere mortal, want the 200 yards to shoot my scoped rifle!
If you wanted to branch out a bit, I see 8+ acres for sale fairly often here in southwest Arkansa, but most of it would need to be cleared for a 200 yards range.
@@paulis7319 I've been meaning to add Arkansas to the search. I'll go to the real estate website I use and have it send me notices of Arkansas land that fits my criteria. Thanks!
@@TStheDeplorable Nice! I hope you find a suitable place. It's nice to have some acreage to use for such activities. When I was younger I wanted to sell the family farm and use the money to retire in Miami (love it there) but ever since the plandemic I've grown an appreciation for the solitude and freedom of having a farm. It's nice to walk out my door and have a target range in the front yard.
Amazing shot and without a benchrest!!
The way it should be.
"Impressive" doesn't even do it justice.
Love the ambient sounds, birds and traffic.
I saw it hit one time before it rang, that's outstanding marksmanship.
where are you holding ?
Takes a bit to get there. Pretty cool.
I may have been surprised back when this was first posted, but after years of hearing the gong ring out, impossible shot after impossible shot, color me CONVINCED!! 😂
Glocks are usually way more accurate than most people who shoot them. Outstanding marksmanship! 👍🏆
If you try 200 yards with a .45 ACP, the barrel will block your view of the target because of the large drop of the slow bullet. 40 caliber and 10mm have high enough velocity to make the aiming process easier with a slight hold over.
A most sincere laugh.
The sound of the airplane going over before the first hit made the imagination run wild.
"I'm glad we've got tape running"
[Camera man notices record lights not blinking]
"How about we throw another mag down range...for the heck of it 🙃"
You're an all around inspiration. Keep on living right!
The master...
You really wouldn’t to be on the receiving end of a Hickok45 lead party! Nice work! 😃😃😃
Well done Hickok!
Great video to highlight " stock gun " " older gun " " inexpensive gun " is fine and can get the job done...
I think all gun tubers should follow this trend.. we have been oversaturated in all the high end , high speed, low drag, high dollar , newst thing trend... our forefathers and thier families had varied experience and varied antique equipment " and they got the job done time after time..
I agree with your outlook. An old gun with bent sights can put a bullet in the same place, if you know what you are doing.
Learned that from an old episode of Andy Griffith. Lol
Gee, if he can do this at this age, how good was he when he was a young man? I can barely see the target. The man is incredible. This is not easy to do.
OMG Sir!!! Well done as usual been a fan for years this sort of says why ... well done
Hickok45 does very well simply because he loves what he's doing and that is "just having fun". That's a secret of staying young.
What in the world is a glock 23?
Does shoot a 23 caliber bullet?
Glock 23 CHECK. But could you REALLY impress me and do it with a glock 43 🤔
I couldnt hit that with a rifle, with a scope, On a good day,
I love how humble you are. You said IF I hit it, knowing full well you are going to. About 1 second flight time for the bullet to strike the gong. So cool!!! Much respect.
I've seen that same trick done with a 1911A1
Is John up there tossing rocks at it?
Great mechanics and knowing your gun😁 great job!
Congratulations! Very difficult at that range.
Four foot gong, meh
That is many decades of focused, careful shooting right there. I'd bet with his Smith revolvers 44 and 357 magnum six inch , single action, he'd hit almost every round. That he did this with a stock sighted, stock 40 S&W caliber Glock is simply amazing. Doing this with open sights with old eyes is almost super human.
It's funny to remember the old clips, and see that nowadays he's so used to hitting the gong, he just bangs it off whenever he wants, every time
Nice shootin'. But I bet finding 23 caliber ammo is pretty tough. 😁
AT_4 300 meter..anti.tank...fourth generation...9mil..300meter...lol..❤
Dude is ice cold!
I still watch the Bob Munden 200 yard Balloon shoot once in awhile...=)
Great Job!
Compensating for elevation very quickly.
It says 1080p, but looks more like 480p.
Buy a better camera.
What is amazing is those bullets still "shatter" when they hit near the center of the gong.
Last week I finally gave in to The Urge and reserved a plastic pistol.
Been fighting for 17 years against such perversion
When I got my California CCW, there was a huge shortage of roster approved sub compacts. The only one I could find in stock locally was a Glock 27, and I too thought I hated Glocks. I held my nose and bought it, and then fell in love with it. It's been 100% reliable with any ammo and as accurate as me.
Welcome to the dark side young Jedi! 🥷
My P-38 was able to hit the 200m gong, but I did cheat and rest my elbows
It's like Time Traveling....love it...still holding it down shot pop's.
maybe he meant 230 feet and not yards??? and the camera angle may be tricking my eye but is he shooting right hand and lining up the sights with his left eye?
Perfectly delightful!!! Thank you so much!!!
I bet, if you tried that with a 1911, with that WONDERFUL trigger, you could get a second shot off before we would hear the "ping" from the first shot! BANG-BANG PING-PING!
If you're never practicing with your pistols beyond 50 yards, you can't call yourself a pistol shooter, IMO.
I would have a hard time with a rifle. I guess I need some practice 😅
Imagine if Hickok went into the military or law enforcement with his skills.
Dude would be Carlos Hathcock 2.0
I have a Talo 23.... little guy packs a potent punch..(if you wanna call a 40, little...)
Dang Hickok! You're a shooter! I've hit targets at 100 yards with my XD40 (one out of about 10) but 230 yards is nearly unbelievable.
This is pointless but I did it anyway :)
I calculate the bullet was travelling at an average of 616 ft per second.
Math:
Time from firing to hearing the sound: 1.75 sec
Distance: 230 yds
Speed of sound: 1100 ft per sec
Time for sound to travel 240 yds (from gong back to camera): .627 sec
Therefore, travel time if bullet: 1.12 sec
690 ft in 1.12 sec = 616 feet per sec
Sound about right? Around 850fps out the barrel, then it loses a lot of velocity while traveling all that distance.
I wonder how much drop there was in the trajectory.
Yea I watched this video years ago ✌🏻✌🏻very impressive marksmanship
You're a combination of Bob Ross and Billy Dixon with the pistol.
I'm more along the lines of Picasso and Barney Fife
"Cameraman"...I am guessing that's your boy. 💪💪
Over the years my favourite videos of yours are the essentially straight ones when you tell us stuff (aka things) and do not pander to YT BS. Then you show us - the people without guns - how they shoot (I am English BTW, so can never experience this)....
Used to seeing completely disrupted trajectories beyond about 125 yards (bullets start tumbling, zero predictbilty after that).
How do these slugs stay 'on track / in trajectory? What is Hickock hurling downrange here?
This day you were blessed, tomorrow you might be happy it hit the hill. Not saying anything about you, you practice more than a lot of people. So, making long range shots is not imposable. Steven Segall with a 911 45 was hitting X's at 100 yards. YES, dead center but he used his learned skills from Japan. One thing the reason you can keep a clip (loaded) in a AR-7 is the barrel holds the chamber, rack a round and it fall down.
When the heck was this? FIFTY years ago? lmao - we're joking! kinda. God bless you, sir! and God bless John, too, in addition to the rest of your family and friends.
can you replicate Elmer Keith's 60o yard shots on abandoned outhouses (read his book "Hell, I was There").
Too long of a delay on the sound 875fps. Fake
I promise you it wasn't fake. I was standing right there. You might want to check your math.
Wow. This put a big ole smile on my face lol. How?!?! Lol. Must be living right. Yup. U must be man.
Eventually, hickok45 will have become so proficient that he will hit the gong twice for each trigger pull.
Bond shooting Villians long Distance with Pistol: "It´s a Movie, this is not possible".
Hickok: "Lemme aim a little bit and *pling* I´am glad we got tape running"
Fricking awesome Marksmanship.
My eyesight is so shitty that I need a magnifier to see the bullseye at 100 yards. Going 230 yards I'd need an LPVO on the pistol. lol
Mr. Hickok, what grain were you shooting and how high were you aiming for drop? Thank you in advance! Great shooting as always!!
I hunted with a Ruger 41 mag, 4 5/8s inch barrel, magna ported. I used to shoot targets at 250 yards with it, back then I figured if I could hit a 8"x6" steel at that range, anything in between was meat in the freezer. Then I went hunting in Wyoming, and took a mule deer at 200 yards, right in the heart, last day of hunting. Still have the rack, only 4 points, but I finally got one at long range
What is the diameter of the "Gong"? What kind/brand of hearing protection do you recommend? Thanks in advance for your reply.
I thought I was doing good with my Ruger 22/45 bull barrel target pistol at 75 yards.
You are quite a marksman.
I EDC a 2nd generation G23....It was my duty piece for a lot of years. You might say, it's become a part of me :)
I have an older Glock 23. I took it to my gunsmith friend in nikina NC. He went completely through it for me ,new Barrell sights, the works. It shoots better than new. Wouldn't take a share in the railroad for it.
I had a makarov that was an excellent shooter. We had a 180 yard range and it was not that difficult to ring a q12”x14 steel target, once you had your holdover aim point
It gave quite a few guys a good story, but nobody would believe you could ring steel at a 180 yards with a pistol
I'm not bad with any of my pistols, but believe it not the one I'm most consistent with, even at 50 yards, is my little Sig P365.
I used to do 230 yards with a snub nose 38 Special. Not easy. That was 30 years ago. Couldn't do it now.
Can you imaging trying to run away from Hickok45 and getting about 150 yards thinking you’ve got it made 😂
Watched twice, and you scored the same number of hits the second time.
I could have done that 30 yrs ago.... But ill bet I cant do it 30 yrs from now.LOL.
My first Glock was a gen 2 23. I’m lucky to hit the target at 25 yards let alone 200 yards. 😂
Did you know of or hear about Elmer Keith? He used to make long shots with the 44 Special and later the 44 Magnum.
hey! wait a minute! didn't the FBI tell us awhile back that the .40 s&w was an ineffective round?
Incredible, yes you are doing a LOT of living right.
The sights are the only thing I will change on my Glocks straight out the box. If it works why try to fix it. It seems like the more I change the stock parts the more problems I have out of the Glock. I have picked up a few older Glocks that had some miles on them and they wouldn't shoot consistent and I threw a lone wolf barrel in them and got them back on target. Nice shooting a lot of people couldn't hit that 230 yards with a 2k rifle and a 1k scope LoL it's a lot harder than you make it look I shoot with a lot of people and most of them have a hard time hitting a target past 15 to 20 yards.
That's what I call gun control. Awesome skills.
Amazing, very few shooters could do that with a rifle freehand
Nice job, especially considering the distance and that it's handheld and that it's a stock Glock.
Hi Mr H, great video, if you’re looking for a request for future content in some our combat course we were amazed at how ricochet reacted on different surfaces like steel, concrete, wood etc… the bullet path after striking one of these surfaces is not at all what was assumed by the class. After watching a demonstration like that you won’t peek around a wall at normal head height, or the same height more than once. Can you do such a demonstration for the good folks that follow you? It could just save a life. Thanks
Victor Avila hit a target 2055 yards away with a 10mm.
Very possible. Just like everything else, it just takes practice and persistence.
