- Entertainment Only ! 1/21/2021 20 inch M590A1 8+1 12 gauge MLoK bayonet lug, Been watching For a Mossberg 590 for months. Finally just happen to get lucky and walk in on a day they happened to stock 1. Will be breaking it in soon. Also been shooting some 9mm 45acp 357mag 410. Just random video shorts thrown together. Ammo has been tough but not paying these scalper prices. It comes and goes on store shelf’s.
Just over $600 is a good price. Definitely worth the money. That thing is built like a tank. Probably the only shotgun you’ll ever need.
Yes mossberg makes good stuff. I have a Mossberg 510 also which is a 410 synthetic pump. Excellent guns.
I bought the 590 for $550 recently. I was shocked since I nearly paid $1,000 for it online. Thankfully I waited.
@@williamgarcia9116 I just cobbled together a frankenstein mossberg 500/590. Maverick 88 barrel and tube, magpul stock, mossberg heat shield, hogue forend, and a metal trigger group from a 590 mariner. I plan on updating the sight with a tritium post and a better safety for a more positive engagement. All on a 500 receiver.
Got my Mossberge 590A1 12guage 2 years ago in California it was $670.00 just like the one I had in Nam, On my helicopter on the back of my seat. Nearly 100% reliability. A little over built a tiny bit heavy. Perfect.
Just bought one of these for $440 waiting for it to be delivered to my FFL.... I cant wait !!!
Nice !
Great find. I just got one yesterday at a gun show in Wickenburg Arizona. I paid about 100$ more than you did, but they are out of stock everywhere. i couldnt resist. Its soo gorgeous. M-lok series FTW!
Damn right you’re lucky! I’ve been waiting for mine since July of 2020! It’s paid for. The waiting is the hardest part. Enjoy and stay safe Brother!😎🇺🇸
Hey, did you finally get it?
I got mine years ago and paid a little over $400, slugs and double o in the sides, ready to rock!!
Nice. I got mine during the craziness and it was half of what some sites were charging
When the shortage is over, everyone will see the Scalpers as crooks and be loyal to the local dealers who kept their prices true.
I am gonna ask my local dealer about the 590 8+1 it looks Sweet!
Local dealers more times than not ARE THE SCALPERS
@@MeMe-ef5fw yeea...you right!!!☝☝🤣🤣🤣🤣
The function of a mossberge 500 is just as equal but the 590 is the 1911 of shotguns it's a professionals gun u gotta pay for ghost rings competors got have that type quality the comp is that close on the battle field
Great buy my friend great shooter great stock. Really nice setup. All the best to you.
The A1 designation came from the requirements, of the NAVY way back in about 1968. Mostly it is a thicker Barrel requirement. because some shotguns (unknown if which manufacturer) barrels were crimped by being slammed against ships metal doors. Now you know, most don't.
Great Find! I managed to get the 20” 590 last week for $519. I installed a Magpul SGA stock, along with a Magpul forend. Great Stuff!
Nice !
I got 2 590s. The one with Magpul furniture I bought for 710 bucks last May. I bought the second, a woodland camo one, today for 520 bucks.
I bought a marine coat 20 inch 590 with the same stock an foreend next is the holosun 503g and a olight pl pro that a be a sick set up
@@ionneednoname nice. If I buy another one I want the cerekote
Interestingly on the same day (1-21-21) I put down a deposit on essentially the same shotgun (model #51668) for $699.00. This weekend it will be a solid 7 months and still nothing. You were indeed fortunate to walk in to a store and find it on the shelf.
Nice one... I finally got the 590A1 Retrograde after almost a year of being on a couple of "notify when back in stock" lists... had to pay MSRP, but that's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
Retrograde is very cool.
I lucked out back in fall of 2019. Bud’s got in a batch at a special price and I jumped on it. Basically the same as yours (ghost ring sights, barrel, capacity) but with a basic synthetic stock. It was $469.99 new. Of course I had to get an Ontario M-9 bayonet.
Nice !
I was curious as to when I bought it so I dug up my receipt. It was September 2019, but it was for only $369.99!!! I knew there was a reason I bought immediately after getting their email alert.
@@craigsavarese8631 that’s a deal. I’ve only seen the 500 in that price range. Never the 590. You definitely got a deal
If one of the places that I waltz into now and again had it, I would have picked up the 590a1 with the adjustable stock and pistol grip if they had it. I'm a massive sucker for Mossberg pistol grips and have little problems on the range with them. I'm sure it would have been costly; I got the next best thing with a trade in (never fired, another type of shotgun). Got a 590, pistol grip, adjustable stock with several buck shells for under 500 dollars everything said and done. Even asked about the 590a1 (as well as the Scorpion Mossberg 500) and they are not easy to find or order. They certainly had a few Mavericks, 500s, and 590s, however, and even two semi-autos. I'm sure they won't be collecting dust there forever, however.
For Mossbergs stick with a standard stock, the tang mounted safety is operated with the firing hand thumb. With a pistol grip stock you have to break your grip and raise your hand up to operate the safety.
Great find. I bought my 590A1 XS in October 2019 for $530. Same stock, same sights, only difference is my forend is a triple pic rail instead. I wanted another but I haven’t seen any A1s in forever, had to settle for 590s
I found this and a mossberg 510 which I love them both.
$600?! I’ve seen that same model for $700. Nice find!
Paid $500 for my Mossberg 590a1 magpul edition before all this gouging happened brand new!!!!
Nice
There’s hope that I can still find one! I carried one as a Grunt in the Marine Corps and always said I’ll buy one but hell they’re cheap and everywhere, well until I wanted one.
Seems like things are coming in a little more lately. Hopefully you get one at a good price
Just picked one of these up on line, waited almost two full years to get one that was below $999. Paid $620, feel pretty good about it.
Good price.
Nice. I picked up the exact same model a few weeks ago. Lucked out big time!!
Just ordered a 590A1 today from Academy for 508 all in (with my 5% academy discount). Pretty stoked
No disappointments
Great shotgun. Lots of great pump guns on the market, but I like these and the Benelli Nova/Supernova.
Benelli are top notch
Smooth shotgun!
What's really bitching but I live in Comifornia is the 590 A1 class 3 with the 14 inch barrel and it's 5 + 1, would love to have that
I have the same set up but with the 18.5 inch barrel. It has the ghost ring sights as well as the accucoke system. With slugs these shotguns are dead on accurate.
590a1's do not have removable chokes due to having the heavy wall barrel.
@@1madmaxx80 yeah they do, mine has accuchoke just like my 500 does and my 500 is a field 28 in, 590a1 is a 18.5
@@coleladieu7395 As previously stated: 590a1 does not have thread in chokes. I have 2 590a1s and 3 590's in the house. All are 12 gauge. AFAIK 590a1 does not come in any other gauge.
Got one just like that bought at gun show in the 90s, love it went to skeetrange about a mounth ago. My first time stood aganist a guy with a bennely over an under been shooting a long time i hit 22 out of 50 he hit 12
Nice !
I own this shotgun. Have for years. It was 550.00 so good find. Mine did not have the m-lock fore end.
I have both the 20 inch barrel and the 18 & half
How many shells can you store in the buttstock? I didn’t even know that was a feature, pretty cool.
Sorry it’s 4 2 left and 2 right side
@@BryanKulpanowski That’s cool man. I’ve never even seen those before.
Lucky SOB! I need that.
Great choice! Hope you practice with it often!
Been looking for one myself. Prices are crazy. Only reasonable prices are for customs, if you want it custom. I been seeing even used and comes with zilch is a grand.
That’s crazy. They come and go for normal prices just have to be patient
That's a nice range you got there.
Great find, i just picked up mine a couple days ago, once I saw it I knew I had to have it. Looks sick as fuck
I love that shotgun, i don't have one, but i have other mossbergs
nice buy man just got a Mossberg 500 myself
Awesome. Like you I been keeping an eye out for one. Ran into a 20 inch 590 during 4th July sale for 360. Still on look out for a1.
Great Video! Thanks
Hell ya man score !!
FYI - Classic Firearms just sent out a sale alert for a Mossberg 50429 500 Retro 12GA. 3" 18.5" Plain Barrel Walnut Cylynder Shotgun for $439.
Nice. 500s have always been a little cheaper
Just got one for a little over $600 . Mine is the rifle sight milspec model, not the SPX. World class gun! 👍

Mossberg Yes !
Remington? Maybe 15 years ago. The new ones are junk
Got A brand new Mossberg 590A1 two years ago, can't tell the difference from the one I used in Viet Nam. It meets the same standard for the same military contract 40 years ago.
Hold up. I've seen plenty of videos about this shotgun and I've never seen anyone putting shells into the stock. Please explain before my brain shits itself
Holds 2 shells in each side of stock for storage.
@@BryanKulpanowski I need one
Got lucky and bought a 590A1 with ghost rings for $370. It was accidentally priced as a 500 on a website 🤙
That’s a steal !
Good video man. I’ve been checking online also for a while now and that’s all I see is the price gouging. I refuse to buy one because of that. But I’ll wait patently and keep looking to see what I find. Thanks for the update.
They keep making them and shipping them. When I went in cables they don’t even put them out sometimes. So be sure to ask if you go out.
@@BryanKulpanowski Definitely will, I may go out today. Thanks.
$600 used for an 18.5" 590a1 in Oregon after measure 114
it is late thank you, you told the price on the gun price you bought,
Yeah, try pricing the Remington 870s. I had to just pay a CRAZY price for one of those, thinking they may not keep making them.
Yeah but since I made this I’ve seen plenty of mossbergs. I think Remington filed bankruptcy around July 2020
go Turkish . They make great 870 clones. Dickenson & Armelegant (sds imports) brands are what I own. Great Shotguns & priced Cheaper too
I just bought a used 590A1 Mariner for $400.00
nice price, hows the finish on that Mariner ?

That fore grip caught my attention. Looks nice but it looks like it doesn’t have much grip and your hand would slip a lot, especially with gloves, unless you add some kind of grip to it. Is that true?
I don’t know what to reference it too. But it’s more grippy than some of the smooth wood rifles I have. But not as grippy as rubber. I never felt like I was gonna loose grip with the 300 slugs I’ve shot
They Have 3 Of These At My Local Gun Store, They Are Asking $899+Tax Out The Door, I Passed On These, Iam Looking For The Mossberg 930 or 940 SPX Semi-Auto Tactical...
My God-Gun For Home Defense Would Be The Beretta 1301 Tactical, But I Can't Find Any...
The Berettas are really nice I bought one many years ago.
I can’t believe that rear sight is not covered! One drop on its head and its done for.
If you have it on a sling how and why would you drop it lol. Never dropped a loaded gun. But that’s me
What happens when you drop something with an optic or a scope on it ? If I happened to break off the rear sight on any weapon in an emergency the front sight is the most important anyways so kinda a weird thing to worry about.
Sorry man. I didn’t think about the optic part! I do know that Mossberg makes the rear sight that has the wings that guard the aperture. I am not hating on your shotgun. I have a Benelli M4 that I am thinking about selling to get a 590A1 so that I can use any ammo that I want.
@@quentinturnage7252 I have no loyalty to mossberg. I own several other brands of shotguns. I just think that dropping on the back sight would be the least concern for myself. But yes it’s been a solid shooter and the sight hasn’t broke for me personally
just got a used police 590a1 with a pistol grip for exactly $599.50 after taxes on gunbroker, it 5+1 though, bummer
Im sure you can find the extension for the mag tube and spring fairy cheap
I found one for $849.99 is that good or bad? I did not buy one yet.
Not too bad. I paid normal shelf price at cabelas was $649 plus tax. But 849 is cheaper than I’ve seen some people asking 1200 plus lol.
I bought mine for 800 up in canada
I paid 1100 for the retrograde version. they typically retail around 900 during normal times. I said F it and used my stimulus towards it.
@@robertsims9201 I love the wood on the retro. Looks nice
Whats that ar shooting 308? That thing kicks like a mule
12 gauge
I guess I should have waited I had to pay 679 they were higher than that in some places but Cabela's threw in a hat a sling and two boxes of shells I told him I would buy it if they did that
Sounds like you got s better deal with the extra stuff
Just wondering, why are the welds around the magazine clamp and front sight white? Do all 590a1s come like that?
It’s almost a grey color and looking at the mossberg website it looks like they are all the same on the 590a1. Never even payed attention until you said something. It doesn’t really bother me. Shoots straight.
Watching you fumble with that speed feed stock should encourage everyone to get a proper sided saddle. They’re hard to run
Cute. That’s why you should practice. Literally just took the gun from the box. Practice everything. And I think doing this one Handed isn’t recommended either
It wasn’t a criticism of you, speed feeds are objectively slower than side saddles
@@jonwilbeck01 I get it. For most situations I think 8+1 is plenty. If I was running 3 gun or something I would train with a side saddle. I think just having a few spare rounds in the stock was still decent from factory.
I purchased the 590a1 magpul edition for 600$ and tax at my local gun shop!! One of the other local dealer wanted 999 for the exact same only fde!!!!😡🤬2 will yrs ago
Same. I saw these at the time going for over $1000 online at the time
👍👍
That stock doesn’t work well for shell extraction
It’s supposed to just be a holder really
I have a 590A1, they are 'too heavy' in weight especially when fully loaded.
Too heavy for what? Not running a marathon with it.
@@BryanKulpanowski
~I live in the north in the middle of a grizzly bear area. There is a full body mounted grizzly about 100 yards from my house. My dad who just passed away was chased by grizzlies twice and shot one of them and 3 in total. My uncle and 1st cousin were put up a tree. I have seen several in the bush here, many more stories I won't talk about. Also we have a 'very high' population of black bears, packs of wolves, and lots of cougars. The terrain here is hilly with poor visibility due to thick bush. I am "not" walking around the house for 10 minutes with a firearm for home defense. But rather for hours hiking while on my back in the hilly bush while I metal detect for gold, pick berries, camping, and fishing. I bought a new 590A1 Marinecote (to weather the elements for rust proofing) at the end of this January, 2022. I fully loaded the magazine tube with shells and it is dead weight, feels too heavy, and not something I want to pack around all day long. It is still too cold here but when it warms up I will take it out and test it on a hike and I hope I can change my mind. What did I have and use before I got the 590A1 Marinecote.? A blued Remington 870 with 20" barrel and a stainless steel rifle. Used for weighing fish, on my hanging spring scale I will weigh both the 590A1 and my 870 and get back to you on the weights after daylight comes.
@@royjohnson465 I’d carry a 10mm then with 16 rounds. Much lighter. I have a full size Glock and a G S chest holster. I can wear it all day feels like nothing. Check out GS holsters.
I've not seen in stock. Not once. :'(
Hopefully you find one soon if you’re still searching.
Too bad the rear sight wasnt protected
Will fed shorty’s work or do need an adapter? I ask because there is one guy who be clear for anything.
Walnut retrograde
@@megalodonscortex7578 I’m not sure never tried them. Might want to email mossberg
You need an adapter or they can flip over in the receiver when the exit the mag tube and the shells have a hard time ejecting correctly
Found them online for $580
thats half of what they were during covid lol
What forend is that?
The magpul that comes with it
Is that front sight removable? What is that foregrip?
Front sight is dovetailed into the riser that’s welded on. So you can change the dovetailed part the actual site. The foregrip is the standard magpul that comes on the 590a1 from the factory. Everything in this older video is the way mossberg shipped it.
Ok cool. There's no rails on that foregrip? I didn't see any but just making sure.
@@chadcowman6293 magpul has its own rail system with lugs. M-lok is magpuls hole pattern for their accessories. Keymod is the other. Those are the 2 common hole patterns for ar attachments and other accessories. This is the M-LOK. The other is Keymod You have to google it for the explanation but many manufacturers use one or the other or both.
@@chadcowman6293 i suggest google m-lok vs keymod you’ll pull up infinite articles to read.
For years, the Picatinny rail was the leader in attaching lights, lasers, foregrips, and other accessories, but it had drawbacks. Adding a Picatinny rail onto a rifle’s handguard or fore-end adds extra weight, and some shooters complain about the extra bulk and “cheese grate” feeling it has on the hand. And although both the Picatinny and Weaver rail systems work great for mounting scopes, their shortcomings in accessory attachments left a lane open for improvement.
These shortfalls brought the next generation of accessory mounting: KeyMod and M-LOK. The KeyMod and M-LOK are based on a slot system rather than the rail system of the Picatinny and Weaver mounts. This means a smoother surface and more mounting options. Both gained popularity since their introduction to the market in the 2010’s - but which system is better? Keep reading to learn a little about the KeyMod vs. M-LOK systems, including how to mount accessories.
Is the forend metal or polymer ?
Same plastic as the stock.
