    Korky® QuietFILL® Toilet Fill Valve

    Easiest to install and adjust
Fixes: No/slow refill, running toilet, noisy flushing toilet
    Korky® QuietFILL® Toilet Fill Valve 528 | bit.ly/1sPC5il
This video will help you troubleshoot the following: Valve will not shut off, Valve is hissing, Valve is turning on and off by itself while toilet is not in use, or if the toilet is running. To resolve this issue, determine whether or not the water level in the toilet tank is rising above the top of the flush valve overflow tube. If the water level is rising above the top of the flush valve overflow tube, the fill valve may not be set to the correct height. Confirm the water level mark on the valve is set to the same height as the toilet manufactures water line. If the manufacturer’s water line is not visible, set the water mark on the valve ½ inch below top of flush valve overflow tube. If the valve is set too high, turn off the water supply, flush the toilet, and remove the tamper proof key if installed. Adjust the height of the valve by twisting the top half of the valve counterclockwise and push down on the valve until the correct water level is set. Then re-install the tamper proof key. If the valve is set to the correct height, the valve may need to be serviced. Please refer to our Korky QuietFill servicing video for instructions. If the water level is not rising above the top of the flush valve overflow tube, and the valve is running or hissing, a leaky flapper is likely triggering the valve to activate in order to maintain the water level in the tank. To test for a leak, turn off the water supply line and mark the water level line in the tank with a pencil. Leave the water supply line shut off for 30 minutes. A water level drop in the toilet tank during this time period is an indication that the flapper is not sealing properly, meaning the flapper is worn and needs to be replaced. In some cases, the flush valve seating surface may be worn or sediment deposits may have accumulated on the flush valve seat, preventing the flapper from sealing. If the flush valve feels rough, clean the flush valve seat with a soft cloth. If you are unable to resolve the issue, please visit our website or contact Korky at 1-800-LAVELLE for further assistance.

So grateful for UA-cam!! Professional plumber company came out first time, didn’t fix correctly, called back and I told him what I found on UA-cam and he supposedly installed a new “flapper” hence toilet kept running so I decided to try try again myself; opened the top of toilet and googled this device, got here and did what the video instructed and now I will be able to get some sleep, I FIXED IT!! No more loud running noise!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you Korky! For $5.34c my problems are solved! It took me a couple of days - replacing the flapper was the easy part, then by watching your videos I discovered my unit was at the incorrect water level and that took just seconds to fix - after the first flush the water snapped off - no more hissing! Silence is golden!!

Thank you, thank you so much! This helped to fix my slow drain toilet. So annoying and what a waste of water and time to have to flush multiple times in order just to see tissue go down....ugh! Watching this video I discovered the water level was about an inch and half below the water fill line. Once adjusted...it flushed like a champ.

this helped me in the end, i replaced the flapper, even took it apart to clean it's components but nothing but this being my 1st time looking at the valve in detail, i realized it wasn't locked in place and the height of it was just slowly going up and down because of that, i set the desired height and locked in it's place and so far no more running water in the bowl. live in learn, thanks :)

I am a married father of 5 daughters.I know my toilets.I purchased 2 Korky toilet kits and both leaked continuously even after adjusting. You simply can't beat the old ballcock systems when it comes to multi-flushing.I recommend the Danco 80816 for family flushings.I even added the brass Briggs Ballcock rebuild kit to the main bathroom and haven't had a leak in a decade now.Korky systems may be ok for singles or couple, but definitely not for families.

@@eslai They are junk.Spend an extra 5 dollars on a Danco or any that has the ballcock float.Just be sure the float has enough clearance to rise without hitting the sides. These Korky's will often leak brand new or last a month.Every one I bought is hauled off to the dump.

    Hi.
Should the black hose go on the circular white plastic thing on the overflow tube? Mine is down inside... not sure if it was there before or perhaps fell there.
The water IS going above water fill line. Flapper replaced months ago- when the other toilet's flapper fell apart (2 at one time to prevent this one doing same thing).
    I have a Korky 528

I was experiencing loud water hammer every time one of our toilets finished filling after flushing. On a hunch I installed the float arm assembly from our other toilet and that fixed the problem.
Turns out there's a tiny rubber gasket on the float arm that closes off a tiny hole on the fill valve when the water reaches the proper level. The gasket on the float arm assembly had deteriorated to the point where it was no longer sealing the tiny hole on the valve and this was causing the valve to turn on and off repeatedly which caused the water supply pipes in our house to bang and rattle loudly.
So far I haven't had any luck finding a store that sells the tiny float arm gaskets or the float arm assemblies. It's strange that this part isn't easily obtainable like the cap diaphragm is.

I just bought a house. My second water bill was over $200 dollars because of this valve. Turns out its been running and I could never hear it. Water keeps going into the ovee flow and I can't figure it out. Even after the trouble shooting.

yes me too! Latest water bill over twice last quarter's. Utility company asked if any water running, said no, never heard it, suspected it. then I see that a slight, yet constant stream of water running down into the overflow! Been in this house for 2 years, and all of a sudden wham! big bill. So what is the advantage of a quiet toilet? Is it worth paying double your normal water bill?

The toilet is hissing after fill, which means the valve is not fully closing. This video is of no help. Those two red rubber parts are the problem. I had to search for other videos and finally found the right answers in videos by private individuals. Then I realized that I'd had the same problems once before in a different home. The dead seal under the black cap wears out and you can buy a replacement cap and seal. The little red seal with the dimple in it can be turned over for further use. Korky should mention these seals in a video.

Lasted about a year and a half. Suddenly started to leak very badly. Turned itself on and off all the time and finally just stayed on for good with high water flow. Adjusting the height did nothing at all. Nothing. Also, how do you explain away this behavior (running due to the height being set incorrectly) when it was installed and working properly for over a year? No children in the house. No amazing cats with opposable thumbs who could lift tank lid and secretly unlock the twist lock and then press the unit down a quarter inch or so. *I* certainly did not mess with it. And IN FACT the unit was above the fill line, installed correctly. It just stopped working. I have never had a fill valve unit die on me in under two years of service. I won't be buying another one of these anytime soon.

It's 2023 and the fill valve diaphragm lasts about two years before it starts allowing the incoming water to run continuously and quietly.
Obviously they're not making any effort to improve the quality of the cheaply made diaphragm because they're making lots of $$$ selling diaphragms and fill valves.

My poop is too large to flush. Sometimes it sticks out of the toilet like the snake charmer's cobra coming out of the basket. It gets so long it sometimes tilts, topples, hits the rim, and breaks in two to hit the floor with a muffled thump. My girlfriend calls me Bear because I'm not allowed to #2 in the house any more. I tried scissors to cut it up into smaller chunks, but the smell and the sight of unprocessed corn makes me want to vomit.
I have to go into the woods and squat leaning against a tree with my underwear down around my ankles. Fortunately squirrels or the neighbor's dog come along and feast on the feces. Otherwise, there'd be a humungous pile. I'd really like to poop in the house again. Other than surgery to shrink my colon or take a laxative to have smaller, but more frequent visits to the porcelain goddess, is there a Korky device for Jolly Green Giant turds?

      @francoamerican4632 Рік тому

I don't know if Korky has a cure for your problem but your tale reminds me of a recurring nightmare that I used to have where my poop was coiling into the toilet bowl and when it reached the toilet seat I would stand up and that's when I would wake up in a cold sweat and immediately have to rush into the bathroom to relieve myself. Scary stuff.

  • @Lethgar_Smith

Get rid of the music. It's way too loud and not necessary. The kid doing the narration is mumbling and a lot of the time its hard to make out what he is saying. This is why it is important to hire a professional voice over artist to do these types of videos and not the owner's nephew.
Also, my valve is not shutting off and this video was zero help.
104 down votes so far and that's a lot for this sort of video.
