Hey there old woman!! I too am old, 70 years plus 7 months old!! I am gonna try this in the next "what ever" days!! LOL😅😅😅😅😊😊😊 Thanks for your encouraging comment!! Pray 4 me!!!😮😮😮
I did it! I'm 72, and the hardest part was getting my body into position to turn the pieces under the toilet, and figure out which way was tightening ir loosening, as it was upside down in my head! But it's done! THANK YOU!❤
I did it!! Your video was beyond helpful. I've been dealing with this toilet for over a year and I got fed up. It won't fix itself so roll up them sleeves. Thank you for this valuable info. You saved me $$. 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks so much! Clear instructions, to the point and encouraging, just what I was looking for in an instructional video. I've never done this job before and I was a little intimidated but I did it today after watching your video twice and best of all it works, no leaks and no more carting water from the tub to fill the tank! 😊🎉
Perfect video! I had to rewatch the locknut removal because I was trying to turn mine to the left to loosen it, I didn’t know left was to tighten on that thing 🤦🏽♀️😂 other than that I was able to follow and replace it myself! Who needs a man when I got your video! 🙌🏼😂 thank you!!!
Thank You Thank You Thank You... I first installed the 400A. But noticed that the overflow tube was draining into the overflow pipe. But nowhere did I see any direction on whether to install the tube outside or inside the pipe....I installed it outside finally and it seemed to be working fine. But Thanks to your video, I now have confirmation that indeed it is supposed to be outside. Surprising thing is that all our toilets are installed with the tube inside and I can see water being wasted.
The refill tube is normally pointed into the overflow tube to refill the bowl. The following video explains when it is okay to point it outside the overflow tube... ua-cam.com/video/uMfD_utCahg/v-deo.html 😎
I used your video to repair my toilet today. The valve wasn’t filling the toilet quickly so I watched this video, bought the appropriate valve assembly, and replaced it step by step along with you. Now it works perfectly. Next problem is that the toilet isn’t using a full 6 liters per flush. The flapper valve is closing way too soon. I think the next project is to replace that assembly.

@@HacksbyDad I’m going to buy an adjustable flapper valve and replace the old one. But first I’m going to scrub out all the mold with your “one two punch” hack. This whole series has been very helpful. Thank you.
Thx for sharing Does it matter about that tube curling, i.e. do you need to trim the tube so it does not create that loop and is more straight? Does that have no effect on the water flow?
@@HacksbyDad had to replace two of these. The originals in the home only lasted four years before they made an awful fog horn sound when the fill was complete. Just finished and no more horn sound. I did just put a big towel under the tank hole and instead of soaking up the water from the inside I just let it leak out onto the big towel. Thanks again
I would like to ask a question please. I bought a Bidet to install on my toilet. The problem is they give you a T fitting that screws on the bottom of the tank where the water line goes. BUT the Threads of the Fluidmaster on the bottom of the tank when installed are too Long. When I put on the T that came with the Bidet, and then install the water line on there, I can turn the shut off valve for the water. The water line from the T hits the water turn valve. Do you know how I can Shorten the threads where the hold on nut goes to the bottom of the tank?? Thank You. I hope I explained it well.
Is your existing one a Fluidmaster? Right now I see the basic 400A and premium 400H models in the stores. Both can be used in most toilet tanks. 400A can get the job done and 400H has a few more features.
I am a bit confused. First, your video shows the refill tube outside the overflow pipe (at 220), but a few seconds later, (at 231) you show it inside the overflow pipe. Then again, (at 256), you show the refill tube outside the overflow tube. Can you clarify this?
Is it ok if the water is more than 3 inches from the top of the over flow pipe? The water reaches the previous water height in the tank. I turned the water level. adjustment screw all the way clockwise to increase the water but it did not get any higher. I replaced the fluid master because I was hearing a whistling sound and I’m wondering if this contributed to my water bill increasing.
Is the top of the overflow pipe at least 1 inch below the tank lever hole? Here are the installation instructions and diagrams for reference... www.fluidmaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/400A_RUBIK_Instructions_Eng%EF%80%A2Span_5x7.25_020118.pdf

Straight is okay if it doesn't kink the tube which would reduce water flow.

Sorry… I’m not sure. Please make sure that the washer/gasket is installed properly on the bottom of the tube and the nut is tightened snugly.
