First, I think it's meant to be a form of casserole not soup, second, he did use a towel not his bare hands.

I mean, when you cook them plain, you get what you get. Throw some garlic in to break up what I can assume is an overwhelming aftertaste. Add some thyme, a little salt and slow roast rather than just baking. Might even need to braise with some wine to cut the scent and what appears to be a rubbery texture. Serve with a root vegetable, like parsnip, turnip or potato. Honey glazed carrots or fried leeks would probably work as the secondary side.
The only issue would be wine pairing. Is blue flesh better with red or white? You could always opt for the safe option and pair with a dry Rosé, I suppose.
I find that a simple stew works best. Brings out the smurfy flavors in a way that isn't too overwhelming.

I'd go with a red like a Syrah or a Cabernet Savingnon. Though a pinot noir or zinfindel wouldn't be a bad choice either.
You could also just try deep-frying them. Ain't nothing alive that can't be deep-fried.
He didn't even gut or clean them nor did he remove their clothes. Of course it tasted foul! Smurfs are the best when pan fried sautéed in butter with a light bread coating. They taste like a mix between alligator and bald eagles
The utter silence as Gargamel realizes the Smurfs taste terrible is hilarious, also the “Smurfing like a mother-smurfer!” bit was funny.

In the story, Brainy and Smurfblossom first traveled here during a storm in the normal Smurf Forest, where they saw Marshmallow being chased by a bunny with red eyes. This leads to the Pluff village. Later, they come back when they steal Brainy Pluff's Pluffway as they cannot come back to the real world unless they go the same way they came by using the smurfway. The Pluffs try to get them in the forest as Brainy Pluff yelled that Brainy and Blossom were not Pluffs. Brainy and Blossom go back to their forest when Caramel uses his spell to send them back.
The Pluff Village is the location that the Pluffs live in in the 2021 cartoon show episode "The Pluffs!" It is similar to the Smurf Village, except that its condition is run-down due to the Pluffs caring more about hurting each other than about their village.
The regular Garfield winds up in this universe when a wormhole opens up in front of the television set, which also brings the alternate Garfield into the former's world. In the end, both of them return, deciding that they are better off in their own worlds.
