Disney takes a bunch of ideas from Robot Chicken. The whole persona of Lego Palpatine is basically from Robot Chicken.

Agents of SHIELD is like every standalone Marvel movie where the world is in danger but the only one who shows up is the title character, except in this case they just have the Son of Coul and his flunkies.
