I just about to order 535i model. I wasn't even thinking about BMW but once I test drove it, I admired it and can't help myself buying this! Thanks for your review!
Bought a 520d M Sport last week and have to say, I should have got one sooner. Absolutely love it. It's a different car altogether compared to everything else I've driven before. The thing I love the most is that the basic features across all cars are more or less the same. BMW do it the same too, but different and, in most cases better. Going from a car with common all garden features to a 5 takes a little getting used to but once you have, it's amazing. The whole process just flows from getting comfy in your seat, to ending your journey and everything in-between.
Currently own 520, its an amazing car and the level of technology is comparable to current car. Though the look might not be the best but this is the car for me. Been driving for past 2 years and gonna drive another year before considering the all new 5
Do you feel it's fast enough? Because it's quite a heavy car and I feel it should atleast have 200hp to make it fun to drive.. would love your thoughts on this
This is the most honest review of this car ever. My uncle owns it and I've driven it quite few times and he has every option available fitted in the car, believe it or not, I'd personally award this car the best looking saloon ever made. If you're buying this then buy the M-sports one cuz the looks more aggressive and awesome
Just sold my 1 series and bought my first 520d in this exact spec shown in the video, went for a test drive in an Eclass Amg night edition and couldn't be more disappointed the mercs gearbox and lack of power was so underwhelming, then today I jumped in the 5 series for a test drive and immediately fell in love couldnt get back to the dealer fast enough to sign the papers. Couldn't be happier. Ps I love this guys reviews he seems very passionate, should have a hell of a lot more viewers and subscribers.
I have to say... This is by FAR on of the best review videos I've seen from an amateur channel. Lots of TOP GEAR UK styling influence, in fact almost in lock step with.... But that helps make this great. Good script, good camera work, fantastic audio and music collection. For a channel with such an early sized following, I see great things coming for you. Good video, even better car!
I just bought a 2013 550i XDrive with M sport package with 22k miles. Absolutely killer muscle car (440 hp) wrapped in a super luxury high tech package. Uh...don't plan on getting more than 20 mph with this beast.....But you don't get 90 mph in just a few seconds and good gas mileage at the same time.
Have to say i do listen to a lot of reviews online this review is one of the best as it was concise and straight to the main points with information !!
My 2011 525d msport timing chain broke causing damage to the engine..... half the engine had to be rebuilt. ... then the gearbox messed up! Only 90k miles!! My previous car was E60 530d I had 6 years of trouble free motoring and done 120k miles in it. Car was on 80k when I bought it so it ended up on just over 200 miles and I never had any issues with it. I changed the engine oil and filter every 6k miles. Still have it cos I loved it so much
Love this review....good info, deadpan humour and nice editing. I have just put the 313bhp 535d at the top of my wish list and your review confirmed all my initial thoughts
+ams0001 Thank you V much for those notes. I wonder what the formula was here that outshone all my other videos, or maybe this was / is a more searched term :) And yes its a good car, the steering is a bit stiff for an old duffer like me, but yep, thats one more potential buyer when I come to sell it :)
I can very much agree to this video. Splendid. Have had my 2012 523i , 6 cylinder, for 4yrs and am really pleased with it. It grows on you and stands the test of time, I think.
eric H Hi Eric, not any problems at all with My 523i. Engine runs so smoothly and also no oil consumption at all. Automatic 8-speed terrific. I will keep the five year old some more years to come.
Great review indeed. Usually I hear only bad things about BMW, but I've had six of them and I'm impressed every time. I could also say, that BMW cars are most abused in the industry (my opinion). Drag racing and drifting does harm to them and then when they break down, it is car's fault.
Very nice review and very well put. I love the way you talk and the things you've addressed. Keep up the good work. Never drove a 535d, just a 530d. Also, i've driven a 520d and a 525d. The difference between the last two is that the 525 accelerates more linear than the 520. Paradoxically I loved the feeling in the 520d because when the rev needle was at about 2000-2100 rpm, if I would floor it, it would pull instantaneously and very hard. But, in the 525d, whenever I would floor it, wherever the rev needle would be, it would pull linearly until 4200 - 4500 rpm approx. Well, I disliked the feeling in the 525d, even if it had more hp (218 vs 184 = 34 extra) because they are beginning/pulling too early and they pull softer than the 520d --> being on a longer scale of rpm. I know the speed was higher at the 525d but ... it was not a big of a deal. I forgot to mention that the 525d was xDrive, maybe that was also an issue because the xDrive takes a bit of the pleasure from that rear wheel drive feeling. Is that the same issue with the 530d vs 535d? Also, i would like to ask you if driving a 535d WITHOUT xDrive let's you put all those 313 hp down and use them fully? Or if you press the pedal at low speeds you just do a lot of tire scratching? How about curves at low speeds, the DSC light keeps flashing? I am a torque fan and I want to buy a used 535d with the 313 hp, not the 299hp. It's difficult to find a xDrive and a RWD and test them for a week. So your opinion about this would be much appreciated. Regards
I would say one of the best review I have ever seen ..its not about bragging the F10, your information is very precise about it ..I'm planning to get a 520i this year ..Making my Mom happy ..She loves BMW ..
+Gopalakrishnan Balakrishnan Good one dude. Make sure you test it for a good run to make sure it has enough power for you/ her... thanks also for the note man.
+HR in a Car thanks for the encouragement mate .. since I'm a petrolhead, I'm sticking to petrol engine . With the help of twin turbocharged , I hope it will suprise me .from your advise ,i might consider 528 i then...
I have a rich doctor buddy who owns a 5 series. He loves it when its not in the shop. He is on his third transmission in 3 years. I have run up the mileage on my Lexus driving him back and forth to the BMW dealership for his repairs. My Lexus has never seen the inside of a Lexus repair shop in over 10 years of ownership. I love the looks of the BMW better than my Lexus, but I don't need the headaches he has had. Its one thing after another for him. If I had his money.......
No, I think BMW's are cheaper here in the US. I know for sure that Audi's are very much cheaper in US and Canada than any place on the planet. VW's are really cheap because our Vw's come from Mexico. I just know maintenance on German cars are steep compared to Lexus, which requires minimal maintenance. I am amazed at the difference. Love to have a Jag though. Love them.
The 3 Series with the same twin turbo 335d engine, is insanely quick, and driven with care can return close to 50mpg. A friend of mine nearly bought one, and during his test drive, i was sitting in the back, whilst the sales executive was driving. Why on earth would you buy an M3, when the M Sport 335d offers more performance anyone needs on the road, and returns decent economy.
Peter Lewis Iv got a 330d and get no where near 50 mpg. If anyone is getting 50 mpg in twin turbo straight 6 with 4 wheel drive it’s pointless having it
great little video this, great info & funny too, the flashing & waving when you overtake in a BMW, ha ha, classic! one question tho, what year is that white 5 series?
Yes, teach me how to make reviews as good as yours! mine are c**p, although ones got 1600 views!!?? keep your reviews coming they are better than most. I intend buying a 2013 or 2013 5 series touring in next few weeks an SE I think for the comfortable ride.
Ha - that was bad one :) just goes to show audience is king. 2013 is good try and get comfort or sports seats in your SE as the SE seats are not great. Also make sure you happy with the leather.
I just got myself 530d M Pack With Pro Nav Memory Seats Panoramic Roof. I'm so so happy that I didn't buy 520d it's a great car but 530d is just more suited for such a large and heavy car.
I loved your comment at 5:55 about leaving parties early just so you can drive it again. I just got a 2011 535i for $16k. It is in such luxe condition and is so fun and enjoyable to drive I find myself running needless errands and looking for any any excuse just to drive it. I've even considered signing up as an Über driver; hell maybe I'll recoup gas and maintenance costs and get paid to drive my own car.
I found an even better car for that which I am filming now... shame I can't use that line again. I work with these people now making some films for them along side this channel. I have done around 4 or 5 ua-cam.com/channels/T5A2sV_sB5diMEbdTrLTKw.html but filming the G11 at the moment.
One of the Major fix lists they haven't addressed is how easy is it for thieves to steal the steering wheel (sports being specific). My 535d is brilliant however I've succumbed to the fact of the black economy in which an insurance claim to order a new steering wheel; broken glass etc which can be anywhere between 1.5 - 4k depending on features is making BMW a serious amount of bonus. Other manufacturers have for example Audi, Mercedes depending on the model require the car to be started and steering to be turned round d to access the securing assembly etc. Just UA-cam how easy it is...
+MyRandomReviews Nice one - thanks... means something... from someone with so many views and subscribers... mate hope you liked and yes F10 is approved for you. You can buy one.
Is there any difference between a 3 series and a 5 series apart from the size if they both have same size engine? Eg 320i vs 520i what are the differences?
It's a big difference. My wife has 3 series 320D, it has much lower seats and getting out of the car is quite hard. I have 525D and it is really a difference. I love it. Also there are small things, for example 5 series is full LED on behind and in front LED DRL, blinkers and xenon lights, the 3 series has halogen lamps (which are very good at night) and ordinary bulbs behind. But I guess, that is an option when you buy one. For me, 5 series is optimum, I also had 7 series E65, but that was for grandpas :)
Great video, good and enjoyable delivery :) I am biased as mum as one of these, but I do agree that the car does drive differently between 2011-present.
I agree, my mum owns a '63' plater and the difference between that and my friends '64' plate is soo different too. The 64 plate is quiter, has back lit gauges with the black panel display and it has the new/ current bmw 2l diesel engine (which is quieter and has less vibration) I am currently still working my way through your vlogs hehe :)
Great review but now I’m sweating a bit because I’m picking up my new 520d touring with M bodykit this weekend but now I’m thinking I should do at least a 530 if not go all in on a 535. Aaaaaargh heeeelp me.
Hahaha summarised the best side of BMW drivers ha! Few issues with the "how long it can function for" statement however. Had 3 BMW's which all had issues, luckily they were covered under warranty. Time to get your hands on a Lexus GS450h I think......
Considering the same car for something better on fuel then my f31 330d, what sort of mpg are you getting in town and motorway?. Iv researched this and seems to be anywhere from 38mpg to 55?.l, my 330d does around 38 mpg on motorway so if it’s closer to that figure it’s pointless switching
sure you do... loool thats why you own a old bmw and are asking about fuel consumptions..... just buy the prius already.... lool at least is something from this decade...
Sorry I meant 20 miles per Gallon, not 20 mph!. It does need at least 89 octane gas also - preferably 91 octane. I put 87 octane with 10% ethanol in it and it did NOT like it.

Guys I am having a vibration issue with this car when going faster than 65mph, tends to get worse as you go faster. I've had the car balanced 3 times and aligned at Kwik fit. I've seen lots of people have this problem with the f10 5 series on the forums. Anyone have and idea what it could be ?
the acoustics in this model all weird sometimes you can't hear the person in the seat next to you talking at all.. but if anyone sings it's unbearably loud and intrusive. strange?
Never buy a new model car within first 2 years of production, once the mid term facelift comes out most issues have been ironed out. That’s the sweet spot
I think that was the point! A little dry wit........toys back in pram please ;) Is that really the only comment you have on what is a very well put together and balanced review of a great car............seriously?
Tell us which E class diesel has an engine this good and drives as well. I'll save you the trouble, none of them. This car is way ahead of of E class dynamically and power wise. Sure the E class has a slightly nicer interior. Cant argue that, but that's all the E class has over the F series.
Soz Frank Agree on interior and looks and image. Not so agree on tech, attitude of engineering. Id have an E on a 300 mile journey tho in a heartbeat over a 5.

Great video, good and enjoyable delivery :)
I am biased as mum as one of these, but I do agree that the car does drive differently between 2011-present.
+Thomas Talks glad you agree. 2011 is more luxurious and more character... 13 onwards is harder edged and more kind of well... um... not as good.
I agree, my mum owns a '63' plater and the difference between that and my friends '64' plate is soo different too. The 64 plate is quiter, has back lit gauges with the black panel display and it has the new/ current bmw 2l diesel engine (which is quieter and has less vibration)
I am currently still working my way through your vlogs hehe :)
Ha, thanks man, Yes the vibration was crazy stuff... I had an 11 go in hundreds of times.
+Thomas Talks the BMW was face lifted in 2013 for the 63 plate so the 64 is not improved in any way
Hm... it sort of is in the background - body wise no agreed.
There unbeatable in their class
Great review but now I’m sweating a bit because I’m picking up my new 520d touring with M bodykit this weekend but now I’m thinking I should do at least a 530 if not go all in on a 535. Aaaaaargh heeeelp me.
520d lighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@carsuncovereduk great reviews btw. 👍🏻 always make me smile.
@@tango22ah amazing brother thanks!!!
Great review!!
Still have to love the E60 535d LCI m sport. It is better looking in my opinion.
Nice car i like the 5 series a6 end e classe rivalry I thinks it's the best
Very good review, many thanks.
+k9 ronin Nice one K
Hahaha summarised the best side of BMW drivers ha! Few issues with the "how long it can function for" statement however. Had 3 BMW's which all had issues, luckily they were covered under warranty. Time to get your hands on a Lexus GS450h I think......
+Rayaan Shaikh Yes but then I will have shit mpg... how does that work. But yes. Perhaps.
Im thinking about buying the 2013 520d M Sport model. Is this a good move ?
Yes it is
Great reviewing
+Mathay Kahraman Thanks Man!
Amazing video
What is with those lumps in the new steering wheel at 10 and 2? Fake leather wrap? Fail.
cant wait to buy mine :)
What about that timing chain issue ? DIRT.
Good video mate. 🤘
Thanks crome
Bought this car 3 months ago, 520D M Sport 2015 in white. What a mistake....my wife doesn't love me anymore.
spending too much time in it - or she catch you in it with another woman?
Considering the same car for something better on fuel then my f31 330d, what sort of mpg are you getting in town and motorway?. Iv researched this and seems to be anywhere from 38mpg to 55?.l, my 330d does around 38 mpg on motorway so if it’s closer to that figure it’s pointless switching
if you cant afford fuel, dont buy it.... by a prius or something... lool
thepro08 can more then afford the fuel “lool”. But when you own 3 high powered cars it’s smart having one for economy
sure you do... loool thats why you own a old bmw and are asking about fuel consumptions..... just buy the prius already.... lool at least is something from this decade...
The voice over quality is exceptional. What's your setup?
+Rob Booth Automotive Ew..... I mastered this one very flat. I used a U87 I think for this one mate. I used AT4040 for lexus and Audi
+HR in a Car Righto, thanks for that. Sounds very good to ordinary ears.
Well that, friend, is very nice to hear.
+HR in a Car Have just done an internet stalk. I suppose your career explains your expertise.
What a cheater I am.
that number plate !
Its for sale :) - But did you mean its cheesy? I like the plate. BMW asked me if I wanted to sell it to them, but in the end they had enough ones.
Sorry I meant 20 miles per Gallon, not 20 mph!. It does need at least 89 octane gas also - preferably 91 octane. I put 87 octane with 10% ethanol in it and it did NOT like it.
wow - advanced!!
wow the English country side is beautiful!
...and cold?
Best cars in the world -- 4, 5, 6 or 7 series...
Amazing car. I have a 520d of the same age - You should do a comparison with that
This is no comparison ;) 3.0 much much better 2.0 its fake bmw 😂😂😂
Grzegorz Serafin fake?
@@sjakubowski92 jak kupowalem dwa lata temu 520 roznica miedzy 520 a 530 to prawie 80tys zl wiec kupilem 520 jesli bylo by mnie stac bez zawachania wzialbym 530 starsze a nowsze pojecie wzgledne moje 530 o 4 lata starsze jest o niebo lepsze niz 520 ponad 50km robi kolosalna roznice koniec kropka!
Try tire rods
Wonder what HR thinks of the Jaguar XF 3.0D S...
Pramit Nayee too loud tyre wise rubbish nav other than that a better car to drive :)
Unlss you mean 12-15/16 MY in which case its quieter. Get an XJ mate if you are going to do it. Amazing.
Nice one! Love your vids
Be very wary of car reviewers that focus the camera on themselves 90% of the time. It's all about them, not the car.
+Bruno TaTa Totally Agree, Sadly the helicopter pilot was on his day off, he doesnt work Tuesdays.
Yes, the car is good, but the price is good too $70K plus tax in US.
the acoustics in this model all weird
sometimes you can't hear the person in the seat next to you talking at all.. but if anyone sings it's unbearably loud and intrusive. strange?
lakjshdlkjsahd
nice house
God this guy makes me feel like dumping my RR SVR for a 535🤔
Good voice
Ha - nice one dude
55-60 MPG? Sounds like kilometers.
+Andrew Gascon Did I say that? Crumbs I don't remember - did you find a boo boo
lol luv bmw hand signal
consumer reports it's in the bottom 3 for reliable. audi is 3 behind lexus and Toyota
Well done. Yep, agreed. Reliablity is improving, but my first F10 was in 13 times in 2 years for very minor issues. Current F10 - no issues whatsover.
My beautiful and amazing mistress it means the everything coming from you 😂😂😂!
Never buy a new model car within first 2 years of production, once the mid term facelift comes out most issues have been ironed out. That’s the sweet spot
535i with 36mpg, dude what are you smokin? It does 30mpg on the highway according to bmw.
535d
👍👍👍
528i 535i 550i in America :(
soo...want diesel for what?
for the tourque!
Did not like the reference to a swear word and correspinding hand gesture.
What a crappy plug for Global Radio.
I think that was the point! A little dry wit........toys back in pram please ;) Is that really the only comment you have on what is a very well put together and balanced review of a great car............seriously?
Ha I don't mind. But you can come back and comment when someone does some good trolling. :)
I apologise, I didn't mean to knock the review, the review was excellent and it looks like I missed the joke. DOH!
Ha its ok dude. I will be getting some proper trolling soon. I work for Global Radio it was an in joke :)
Is this BMW commercial or what? What about reliability, running costs and other important stuff?! Mostly in reviews they talk about emotions 🤨
The world runs on emotions.
BMW diesel? Naaah - BMW is good when it comes with petrol engines!
WHAT CAR WINNER AGAIN LOL
4:47 Lmao thats literally the opposite of all bmw drivers, they buy for looks and know reliability is abysmal
this is a nice car but compared to the E-class its still far behind, especially the interior
That's because the E Class is newer. Wait for a year and when the F90 BMW comes out. It will have everything beaten yet again
Thoughts on the Audi A6?
`Yep - epic to look at mate. And interior wow. Waiting on Audi to give me one. 2.0 is hard to beat.
What a weird intro
What a weird comment
Buy a golf r smoke the bmw 😂
Only trouble with BMW cars is in the snow rear wheel drive is F#CKING useless 👎
😂😂😂
