What do you think about USA,UK,and German BMW engines and cars are the same build @ quality ? Also any advice I’m looking for 2023 BMW 540i X drive B52 engine thanks 🙏
Another common fault is the Headlight condensation to the point that it damages the electrics and the whole Headlight needs replacing and that is a serious cost.
This is really good, but would be good to also know at roughly what mileage or age these things tend to happen? -- I just bought a 2016 520D F10 LCI with 49k miles on the clock, I take it most of this should be too early to worry about? or which issues tend to crop up at this kind of age/mileage?
Little bit of scaremongering in this video really. I've had my F11 for 3 years (525D so same basic engine) and the only things i've had to do to it other than routine services is timing chain (preventative change), gearbox oil change, refit vapour barrier in rear doors. Total expenditure on all 3 of those jobs less than 3K. Not bad for a car on 230k now. Im confident it'll get to 300 without any other major bills
You can have these faults with any car.. Geez..talk about scaremongering.. Have a 2013 520d.. Just serviceable parts.. Cracking car... Keep it maintained.. You'll be fine...
Not really scaremongering is it? You just see your car we see 100s with these issues so how is it scaremongering? It’s just advise from bmw specialists. Thank you for the watch
But it’s a lovely drive unfortunately when i did a test drive it felt like i did drive a Mercedes S class 😂😂😂😂 but it was a BMW so smooth so comfortable it was like those seats was made for my ass to seat in that car
Talk about putting me off buying one
Thanks for making this video 😊

Thank you for mentioning that, thank you for watching
@@itsimtyit's a really common problem. The headlight seals let in water on around half of them
@@CL4SSiCSi’m having that problem now with my right head light on my 535i how do i fix it just get a new headlight light and module?
Mine is FUCKED.
@@mannyTVtrimyou spend 2 THOUSAND dollars for just a headlight.
"Lovely to look at lovely to drive ..BUT the Man in the Garage WILL SKIN YOU ALIVE!"
😂 not all men in garages are like that
Great video, love it. Will al these faults be the same for the e90 330d?
@@rodwinneels7085 not necessarily depends on the year and mileage and condition
I must be lucky, 2012 with 185k miles. Still original suspension components and not a single one of the mentioned COMMON problems.
How many miles did you start with
My 2015 is at 205k
Yeah a lot of doom and gloom merchants out here
Maybe you know how to drive a car?! Do you warm the engine up before driving it fast? Warming as in driving under 3k revs.
DOOM 3

Great video very informative, you’ve put me off a 530d will probably stick with petrol
Thank you for the watch just giving honest opinion as bmw specialists
Just delete the emissions on the diesel if you can get away with it, makes the car so much better
Great video... anything similar for the 520D?
Will be doing one soon Thank you for watching
@@itsimty Excellent!
@@itsimty Did you end up making one? - A link would be awesome :)
@@DigiDriftZoneThe N47 and N57 are basically the same thing, except the N47 has 2 cylinders chopped off.

400000km, g31 530d, egr cooling replaced. Nothing else.

I thought I going to buy 5 series but not now full of problem thanks buddy
"seal for life" gearboxes are just that, thing is, "life" od the car is 125 000 miles as per factory..
Thanks, you have put me off. I'll stick to public transport. I thought 530d is supposed to be better than a 520d? For things going wrong.
England all the time 10 to 12 degrees
Dam, I was looking for one, might just buy a Skoda instead jeez!
Skoda is VAG tho?
