Bikes are extremely dangerous and have zero protection. F1 drivers have very expensive contracts and if they get hurt the expense could be in millions.
@@whizzo94 I’m pretty sure most f1 drivers would be decent on bikes too, not pro level but good nonetheless. I remember Lewis Hamilton and Valentino Rossi had a test where they swapped vehicles and Hamilton could just barely keep pace with him

And most drivers DONT have good contracts only the top 5 I think are paid REALLY well. The rest are either paid very little in comparison or are paying themselves for the seat. Also if a driver WERE to get injure it wouldn’t cost anything to the teams unless healthcare is part of the contract. (And it probably isn’t considering the high risk of injury associated with Motorsport). With all that depending on the country the cost wouldn’t be that much anyway (Unless they find themself in an American hospital). Besides they’ve already done things like this before. I remember in a time between 2014 and 2018 or so, Lewis Hamilton (The best paid driver in f1 and 5 time WDC at the time) was allowed to ride Valentino Rossi’s bike for the previous year while Rossi drove Hamilton’s f1 car. If they allowed him to do that then at the height of his career, what stops other f1 drivers from doing the same?

Different machinery every season, can't compare different seasons car models fastest lap, also we need to consider which team had the fastest car in the season from which the above car is (probably 2015) as the above event is said to have happened in the year 2017.

Crazy Dani Pedrosa. Wish they put a Sim racing Alien in their. They maybe even faster than all, no one more accurate and consistent than a Sim racer Alien, yet their health for the real thing is a different story.
@@RedBullMotorsports Shame that D. Pedrosa or even Jorge Lorenzo didn't even try Indy500 after reitiring when they were still have the mindset of being racer. His methodical approach could have made them a surprising new talent in the world of 4 wheels. And, for Marc in case he decided to retire all of a sudden for some various reason. He still got the youth & skills to try 4 wheels. I believe honing this new way & getting used to it at Toro Rosso can be the best opyion for him.

The RB10 did a 109:9 under Ricciardo and 1:11 flat under Vettel. Much like DC in the simulator...Webber made the lap time attainable. Even retired...I'm sure he could do a 1:12 fairly easily. As it turned out ...only the most talented MotoGP guy could beat that lap in the allotted time.
From what I can tell it is actually a Red Bull RB9 car that is painted in Red Bull / Toro Rosso livery. Maybe the reason for them doing this was sponsor conflicts between Red Bull Racing and some of the riders. Toro Rosso run nothing but Red Bull brands as sponsors so would avoid this issue.
