The drill feature for pool swims is something I asked in the Coros subreddit when the Pace 3 came out, and they confirmed there that it was coming in a future update. I am so happy to see that they delivered what they promised !
Yes!!! I've been bugging them for a very long time to try to find a way to add it. I'm very excited that it made it in here. Hopefully it'll come to all of the other watches in an update soon. 🤷♂️
Really happy to see any mention of swimming features. Swimming is the only exercise I do, and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find quality reviews talking about real usage experience to give me reasonable expectations. Not everyone's a runner! I'd love to see a bit more time given to swimming in reviews, such as accuracy of various metrics, quality of life features like pausing sets or auto rest interval, editing swim sets etc. I've been on the verge of buying my first smart watch for years now. I thought the Garmin 265 would be the one, but I'm now looking seriously at a Pace 3 after learning about the improved swim updates. I like the style, compactness and price. Don't need or want AMOLED either. Love your work mate. Top quality production and good, practical talking points. Cheers from New Zealand. ❤

Another product tester here. I have to say I've loved it and it's taken the place of my Apex 2, now. It's battery life also outlasts the Apex and that's running with "all systems" on. The AMOLED screen is actually just like a nice to have bonus in reality. Very pleased to have this as my daily watch now.
Awesome feedback! And this has been my experience also with this watch. I think this is going to be a big hit for COROS. I mentioned this at the end of the video but I'd be worried that this watch is going to catabolize their Apex 2 Pro market?!? 🤔

Great video Matt... Again! As a Pace 2 user i have a question : Did Coros manage to improve the isntant pace or you still notice the 10" plus delay ??? Keep the good work
It’s really hard to critique the instant pace issues accurately as it’s mostly just me glancing down at my watch while changing pace randomly but yeah, it seems better than the Pace 3. Although maybe these same algorithm changes are coming to that watch too at some point point? 🤷🏻♂️
You can have a preloaded training plan that it'll ask if you want to follow but it's not exactly like Garmin's suggested workout that is based off your health metrics for that particular day. Thanks for the kind words about the review! And thanks for watching!
Great review Matt. I currently use the FR 265 mostly for swimming. One of the features I really like is the ability to create swim workouts. Does the Pace Pro have that same feature?
I actually don't know. I did swim with this watch but didn't try to install a workout. Looks like it's an option from this documentation: support.coros.com/hc/en-us/articles/30206170469524-Pool-Swim-Workouts
In Germany they sell the Pace 3 for 249€ and the Pro for 399€ at the moment. The Suunto Race S for 349€. So i am thinking about buying the Pace 3 or the Race S and i want to use them mainly for road cycling. The decission will be made by the app and the Navigation. Is it practical to navigate with a watch during cycling? (i have no bike computer) Which app do you think will be better for a beginner like me? Thank you for the great Video!
Yes it does. You can access that within that quick menu tool box thing that I mention in here. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
hey can you swap the silicon strap from pace 3 to pace pro? I reckon they're the same width. I don't like the "integrated strap" look on the pace pro, make it ugly and won't lay flat with the face up.
Yeah, I think they’re the same size. The Pace 2 was a slightly smaller size if I remember correctly. 🤔 Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
This thing makes the Garmin Fenix 8 series look like a joke at 3X the price. The best feature of those Garmins has been the maps. This democratizes maps (especially after they add labels) and OLED for a crazy good price point.
I don't know if I'd go that far but it definitely is a great value option in comparison to watches priced over $1000 😬. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Exactly. The Fenix 8 is a very different value proposition. Plus I love the built in flashlight. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Coros Pace Pro or Suunto Race S? I am interested in maping and navigation, battery life, and user interface? I used Coros Pace 3 and I liked, but I returned when I heard that Coros launched Pace Pro. I never used Suunto. Your point of view since you used both. Thks.
Hi Ernie! I guess that depends on what you mean by sync. It can handle exported GPX files from that application but I don't think All Trails is one of the supported apps for auto upload or anything like that. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I've been using it in the display always on mode but it still does it's dim mode when not being focussed. But it feel responsive to that glance to me. There are other watches on the market that are far less sensitive and that I've found a bit annoying for this reason. But this COROS Pace Pro feels pretty great! Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Yes! It’s actually on my wrist now. I just need to test it for a few more weeks and then work on the full review. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
That's the one watch that I wouldn't expect COROS to try an AMOLED version of because of it's focus on ultra long battery life but who knows? Maybe they'll try it. 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
The Pace Pro also has maps but if you really don’t care too much about either that or the screen, I’d save the money and go for the Pace 3. Currently, I’m preferring the Pace Pro.
This would have spectacular battery life with a proper MIP display. Everyone jumping on the super-bright marketing bandwagon but I still fail to see the benefit. All I want is a watch that can tell the time and show a bunch of numbers when I'm running and MIP can do that with no burn-in countermeasures and extreme efficiency. Maybe people are watching movies or reading books on this thing? Dunno.
Hmm, I think that's a really tricky call. I *think* I'd go with COROS for more flushed out features but the hardware on these two devices are very similar. Not to mention they're the exact same price.
My Pace 2 died last week. I was thorn between M3, Suunto Race S and Pace 3 Pro. But for me the design of the Pace 3 Pro is.. horrible? I ordered myself a Suunto Race S. As Legrand says, hardware etc they are basically same.
@mlegrand I decided go with open box Garmin 265 at same price. $350. I don't care for MAPs. I like Garmin watch INTERFACE better. Sunto could be better build but don't care for that as much. Battery life on Coros Pace Pro better but Garmin is enough and really disappointed at Coros for making Pace Pro $120 more than Pace 3. If they kept the price at like $299.. they would have dominated and brought more people over to their eco-system. I also went with Garmin 265 over Sunto Race S. Smart feature where you can touch it to turn off Screen. (I had that on Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic) based on reviews I like the daily training and recovery reminder. Good bye to Coros Pace 3, MIP screen sucked, I could not see it at all indoors; especially since older people like me. Need OLED Display. Coros Pace Pro at $350 is not worth it.. rather pay few bucks more to get 265 or 165 or Sunto Race S. and decided on 265. I think every watch has their pros and cons... I'm just going to be using it Running mainly... and 265 is suffices my need.
Yeah, just start the workout in outdoor mode and make sure GPS is connected first. You don’t actually need a pre-loaded route for this to work. When you’re ready to head back, don’t end the workout-just press and hold the BACK/LAP button to pull up the quick menu, go to 'Navi. Setting,' and select 'Back to Start.' It’ll guide you back along the exact route you took using breadcrumb navigation. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

I still wonder why all these non-apple, serious running watches insist on bad design of colours, incons etc. I mean.. cant these serious companies hire the best designers? I know those are focused on substance over design, but yet…
It’s super interesting to me that so many people dislike the look and design of this watch. I never thought it was too bad. But way more people agree with you than me. 🤷🏻♂️
I don't know if I'd personally go so far as to say that this is better than the Fenix 8. Maybe it's a better value, sure but I miss having a built in real flashlight on here. (amongst other features) Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Hi Teeramate, I'm wearing the T-Rex 3 right now. I'll put it next to the Pace Pro but they're very different devices. Anything you'd want to know about these two here in the comments?
@@mlegrand I know both watch look different but my guess what in T-rex 3 now will transfer to next the Amazfit Cheetah Pro & that's why I want to see you compare both watch. Mainly on Gps & New HR sensor.I like how Amazfit done with GPS style like Sat IQ from Garmin & Don't know why Coros can't do that. Thanks for you answer again
@@teeramate - So far in my testing of the T-Rex 3, the HR and GPS seems better but maybe not perfect. Big watches have a hard time with HR accuracy because of how much they can bounce on the wrist with running. This hardware and algorithm on the Cheetah Pro might do even better. GPS looks pretty solid in my testing so far. 🤷♂
Hey Chris, yeah, that was a pretty big mistake within this video. I kind of stuffed in a graph that wasn't particularly in line with what I was talking about at 13:31 but I noticed HR data being ok once it found and locked on my heart rate. It did take significantly longer than other watches to lock on. Also, this was an early beta build so it might be something they refine with this watch. 🤷♂️
Making charging not backwards compatible ? Also not giving a cable but only an adapter...what genius thought that is acceptable in there product design employees?
really ashamed that there is not an option with the nylon band (i cant wear silicone bands) like the pace 3 and that we have to had 30 euros in plus ... otherwise it seems a pretty intresting watch may be 50 euros to expensive for me
Yeah, it's an extra costs unfortunately. I've used both over the past few days and the nylon band is pretty nice. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
I personally wouldnt buy an amoled watch that have 24h display. I have used phone with amoled screen and it have screen burn. Unless they have lifetime warranty for screen burn, i personally wouldnt however nice it is.
Screen burn in is real. Typically these companies will do a pixel shift to avoid burn in issues. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
The watch is so ugly the amazing closeups actually show how plasticky they are instead of showing them for a good looking product. Praise the cameraman but the design department needs to step up their game. Look at chinese watch. The quality of materials and the accuracy of measurements is top notch - they are only lacking in software (Huawei, Amazfit).
Yeah, you're not the first person to call this one ugly. I never really thought of it as ugly while testing it over the past few days. But I'm now working on the Polar M3 and I do love what they do with their brushed metal bezel here. 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

Awesome. Thanks Matt
(i have no bike computer)
Which app do you think will be better for a beginner like me?
Thank you for the great Video!
I don't love navigating from a watch but I'm used a cycling computer. So it would work, it's just not ideal.
@mlegrand I also can't imagine to navigate with the watch on the bike. But i don't have experience herein. Thank you for the answer!
Great review! Quick question: does the COROS Pace Pro have the ability to broadcast heart rate to other devices, like a bike computer? Thanks!
Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it.
Seems like a great value amoled running watch. I still prefer the Garmin 8. Just depends on what you want and what you can afford.
Thks.
I think it’s a hard call. If you generally liked the Pace 3 then you’ll love this Pace Pro. 👌
Good video buddy 👌😎 Coros getting bether and bether...
Thank you George!
Hello... Q: Can the Coros Pro sync with Alltrails app to download hike maps? Thank you
Hi Ernie! I guess that depends on what you mean by sync. It can handle exported GPX files from that application but I don't think All Trails is one of the supported apps for auto upload or anything like that. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
How responsive is the display from a gesture to wake it up when the screen is off?
I've been using it in the display always on mode but it still does it's dim mode when not being focussed. But it feel responsive to that glance to me. There are other watches on the market that are far less sensitive and that I've found a bit annoying for this reason. But this COROS Pace Pro feels pretty great! Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Thank you for a nice video. Will you test the Amazfit t rex 3 ?
Yes! It’s actually on my wrist now. I just need to test it for a few more weeks and then work on the full review. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
If it introduces a vertix with an AMOLED screen and payments, I will be happy to switch from AW Ultra :)
That's the one watch that I wouldn't expect COROS to try an AMOLED version of because of it's focus on ultra long battery life but who knows? Maybe they'll try it. 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
@ Maybe coros will follow garmin's footsteps and unify the versions and it will be like Fenix, one with amoled, the other with mip
For the money difference, the pace 3 vs pace pro, not caring about the amoled screen, which would you recommend?
The Pace Pro also has maps but if you really don’t care too much about either that or the screen, I’d save the money and go for the Pace 3. Currently, I’m preferring the Pace Pro.
I’d love to see a comparison between this watch and 265
Yeah, that sounds like a great topic!!! 👌
Dunno.
Go with pace 3 then, that is MIP and a great sports watch. This pro does look nice
Yeah, I love nothing more than watching a 3 hour movie on my COROS Pace Pro! 😂
As an older runner, it makes it easier for me to see.
@mlegrand... while waiting for your heart rate to recover "after a night of heavy drinking."
I dont know if I should upgrade my 955 to the pace pro.....didnt like the pace 3 so im unsure about the Pace pro.
What don’t you like about the Pace 3 and 955?
@@mlegrand the pace 3 was definitely the pace lag found it very hard to get used to and unfortunately unusable
@@markhill8590 - Anything you didn't like about the 955? That's clearly a much higher-end device than these the others.
@@mlegrand think its lack of brightness from the screen
@@markhill8590 - An AMOLED device is going to be much much sharper and brighter.
Does the alarm and buzz a step up from the Pace 3's?
I don't remember feeling or noticing a difference. Sorry Jes!
Money aside would you rather get the pace3 or the pace pro?
Pace Pro
I have a Coros Pace 3. Should I update?
If it were me, I’d probably wait. That Pace 3 is a great device. And you never know what COROS will do next. 👍
Which would you pick Sunto Race S or Coros Pace Pro?
Race S seems better built my pace 2 died with screen issues…
pace pro for the features
Can you tell me about the back to start? How does that work on the Coros? Very important to me. Thank you in advance!
@@mlegrandthank you so much for the response! Love your videos by the way. Can tell you love your work.
Any opinions on an Epix Gen 2 (non-pro) going into 2025?
Coros sent me a similar keychain charger when the standard charger for my Pace 3 stopped working.
Yeah charging cable needed better design
@@LiveYoung0 That was the goal of the new charging adapter for PACE Pro and it should greatly improve the connection when charging!
@@COROSGlobal what I love about you guys is the prompt response ! Please keep this up.
Nice! I'm just worried I'm going to lose this thing. I need to put it on my keychain ASAP!
Much better than a Fenix 8. Value/price is so much better. I can buy the whole coros line up for that price. 😎
I don't know if I'd personally go so far as to say that this is better than the Fenix 8. Maybe it's a better value, sure but I miss having a built in real flashlight on here. (amongst other features) Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Hi Matt, Will you review Amazfit t rex3 ? I'd like to see compare between Trex 3 & Pace Pro vdo from you. Thanks for your vdo.
Do you have the link to the screen protector please?
Sorry about that: amzn.to/40rr7da
These are the ones that I bought for this watch.
@@mlegrandawesome, thank you! I don’t want to mess up this clean display
DMIPS is a new unit to me 😂
Yeah, it's not something I was really aware of either.
does this watch show vo2max?
Yes, it’s in here. It’ll show on the smartphone app. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
Any news about new Apex? :)
I haven’t heard about anything. 🤷🏻♂️
Did I miss it? Heart rate accuracy?
Hey Chris, yeah, that was a pretty big mistake within this video. I kind of stuffed in a graph that wasn't particularly in line with what I was talking about at 13:31 but I noticed HR data being ok once it found and locked on my heart rate. It did take significantly longer than other watches to lock on. Also, this was an early beta build so it might be something they refine with this watch. 🤷♂️
How's the pace lag?
Seems a little better to me anecdotally. I bed to wear it with the pace 3 an do some sort of intervals to really check.
Making charging not backwards compatible ? Also not giving a cable but only an adapter...what genius thought that is acceptable in there product design employees?
Yeah, that's a tough call. They mentioned they'd send you a USB-C cord if you asked for one but I wonder how you actually go about requesting that? 🤔
@@mlegrandDon't we all have a zillion USB-C cords by now. I appreciate them not giving me another one.
Nice
Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment Craig! I really appreciate it. 👍
really ashamed that there is not an option with the nylon band (i cant wear silicone bands) like the pace 3 and that we have to had 30 euros in plus ... otherwise it seems a pretty intresting watch may be 50 euros to expensive for me
Yeah, it's an extra costs unfortunately. I've used both over the past few days and the nylon band is pretty nice. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
There are a ton of Coros athletes that have codes for a free watchband with any watch purchase which you could use to get a Nylon band.
@@nathanenns - Really? That's awesome. We need to get a used / good coupon codes going here in the comments!
@@nathanenns didn’t know this existed can u give me one ?
JOE or Sage
looks too cheap . i don't like it
I've been liking it so far but I wonder if a metallic bezel might make it look a little more premium. 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍
