SORE ARM AFTER VACCINE:
1 in 10 people who have the COVID vaccine get a sore arm for a few days. Now if you’re one of those people and you’ve got a sore arm right now then you’ve found the right video because we’re going to discuss what you can do to help get rid of that sore aching arm, and I feel you because I had the same thing and loads of people I know did too!
I do have a ton of other useful videos about the COVID 19 vaccines as well as the seasonal flu vaccines available on my channel; feel free to check those out too. Before I cover how to get rid of a sore arm after a vaccine, let’s touch on why we get one in the first place.
WHY DO YOU GET A SORE ARM AFTER THE COVID VACCINE:
The introduction of the vaccine into the body through a needle causes a minute injury to your arm muscle. This injury triggers inflammation at the injection site, and your body then goes about mounting an immune response which involves your white blood cells.
Your arm (i.e. where you’ve been injected) is where those white blood cells which have been activated as part of your immune response; end up. Put very simply, this inflammation is your body’s way of defending itself against things that it thinks are harmful. It’s exactly the same as what happens when you get hurt, and is a clever way of your body trying to protect and heal itself.
We know that inflammation is happening at the site of injection when we experience pain, sometimes redness, heat and swelling. So actually, a sore arm makes perfect sense and is nothing to be too concerned about at all, so please do not panic! Believe it or not, it’s great news as it means the vaccine is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. There will of course be some people who don’t feel any pain at all - and I’m afraid that they are just the lucky ones.
If however you do get a sore arm, it’s not likely to last more than a few days at most because that’s how long it takes to recover from the needle injury, and that’s when your body is busy mounting it’s immune response. So, now that you have an understanding of why we get a sore arm after we’ve had a vaccine, let’s delve into what we can do about it.
WHEN TO SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE ABOUT YOUR VACCINATION SITE:
The vast majority of people won’t experience any concerning side effects, however, you should seek medical advice: A) you notice a rash at any point, B) you’re finding that the soreness seems to be getting worse, not better within 24 hours of the jab, C) your arm is so painful that you can’t even touch it or move it. D) If the soreness doesn’t seem to be going away after a week.
COVID SYMPTOMS:
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
a high temperature - this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
a new, continuous cough - this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste - this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
If you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19, even if they're mild:
Get a PCR test (test that is sent to a lab) to check if you have COVID-19 as soon as possible.
Stay at home and do not have visitors (self-isolate) until you get your test result - only leave your home to have a test. Check if people you live with need to self-isolate.

I got my 2nd booster shot yesterday and my arm feels like lead when I woke up. I did a few of the exercises and it already significantly decreased the pain! Thank you for this video.

I had 2 vaccinations today, one for polio and one for menningitis and my arm aches so bad
I had my 4th COVID vaccine booster and two shots for meningitis as well- that was, of course, with Adavan (antianxiety medication that dulls down my irrational fear of needles) and laughing gas (which does the same thing) lol

what can help is adding ice gel oinment
First hour: “I can’t feel anything”
5 hours: “still nothing a bit of sore tho”
1 day: “ I can still handle it but it hurts more”
Day 2: *crying in pain*
Ibuprofen and heating pad - pain gone, then move your arm frequently.

I had the RSV 4 months ago and it is still #8 pain level, #10 at nighttime. I'm 70 years old and never had a reaction like this, so my comment/question is WHY now with the RSV? Is this every go away because . . . . it's not getting better.

Hello . My case is a bit different from others .. I had my 1st and 2nd shot in March 2022 so it has been a year ago now . But I'm still feeling some pain it's like there's a heavy mass on my upper arm and i feel sometimes numbness and tingling too.

Hi, after my first vaccine I had a saw arm for 4 weeks. I thought it was improving after some stretch exercises and rest. I've just done a few tricep and press up exercises (very light, no weights used) and it's aching like mad again so much I've had to use Olbas Oil. I know it's still not right cos my left arm is absolutely fine and already recovered from the light exercise. I won't be getting the next vaccine until this is sorted but my doctor said it could have hit a tendon or nerve and could take 3 - 6 months. He said it WOULD get better. But right now I'm not convinced. I wanted this other jab to move on with my life. And now I feel trapped and not sure what to do.

@Josh Wylie Music i mean sure, chronic illness is not fun (mine is going for my joints and general collagen), but dont let an arm ache deter you from protecting yourself. We can be feeble and I dont wanna risk it. Im sure the pain will go away way faster than that, I had the soreness for about a week, im sure they hit something since it bruised up pretty bad but it all went away eventually i just learned to ignore it.
I hope you do get better tho, prostatitis sounds really annoying, but alas if its chronic, we indeed have to learn to deal and live with it to the best of our ability. Much health to you 🤗

@@tnijoo5109 mine took about 8 - 10 weeks although I have not done any press ups or real physical work with it since. I will have to test it properly soon to see, but hopefully yours shouldn't take that long. I didn't have my second jab because of it. It was that bad for me. I play guitar and sing for a living so it's too much of a risk, with a chronic condition playing music for me is everything- a coping mechanism which I can't afford to have taken away.
I got the vaccine 4 months ago & it hurts occasionally ever so slightly 4 months later.

My first shot kept me sore for hours and a few days..2nd shot wasn't so bad, after. a little research.. Ice....Yesssss...helped me so much..I placed water in small containers to freeze....you can also use ice cubes as well....I placed the containers in a baggie wrapped in a thin piece of clothe..I cut an old bottom of a t-shirt.and tied around my arm and neck.. to avoid moving ...It soothes the pain tremendously.. I moved my arm when necessary... being an active person...Good Luck..

@@misaki6100 it is supposed to happen (the shot 💉 is working) pls don't do anything take rest I'm 100% sure it will go away with 1-2 days. My pain reduced the next day and completely went away within 2 days just take rest.....
