Mucormycosis, aka black fungus symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention are explained in this video.
Black fungus / Mucormycosis is a rare but dangerous infection. It's caused by a group of molds known as Mucormycetes. These fungi can be found in decaying leaves, compost piles, and rotten wood. Molds require moisture and decaying organic (living) material to thrive. Mucormycetes release large numbers of spores that can go into the air. Infections occur more frequently in the summer and fall than in the winter and spring.

People can inhale fungal spores when they are near moist dead vegetation. Tiny hair-like structures called cilia can catch these spores in your airways and get into your lungs. If your immune system is weak or your cilia don't work well, it is easier for the spores to get deep into the sinuses or other body tissues. Besides entering your body through your mouth, nose, and sinuses, the black fungus can also enter through a break in your skin, such as a cut or scrape.
What types of Infection can mucormycosis cause?
The types of black fungus infections depend on where they enter your body:
Rhinocerebral mucormycosis is an infection of the sinuses that can occur when a person with a weakened immune system breathes in the fungal spores. Air enters the nose and may go into the sinuses, air chambers found in the facial bones. Sinuses are air pockets that lighten the skull, provide resonance for speech, and moisturize and warm the air we breathe.
The Infection can spread from the sinuses to the brain or the eyes. For example, people with diabetes who have poorly controlled blood sugar are more likely to develop a black fungal infection of the sinuses. Same for those who have had a kidney transplant.
Lung mucormycosis is most common in those with a very weakened immune system after having cancer treatment or an organ transplant.
Skin mucormycosis develops when the fungus enters the skin through a scrape or cut in the skin. This is the most common type of black fungus infection in people who have a healthy immune system.
Disseminated mucormycosis occurs when the Infection spreads throughout the body via the bloodstream. The fungus invades the blood vessels, reducing blood flow to organs and tissues supplied by these damaged blood vessels. When blood flow decreases, tissues cannot get oxygen and nutrients and start to die. Dying tissue turns black. Black fungus grows well on dying tissue. After passing through the blood, the fungus usually affects the brain, but it can also affect the spleen, heart, and skin.
How is mucormycosis associated with COVID?
An opportunistic infection takes advantage of you when your immune system is weak. So we use steroids like dexamethasone, aka decadron, to treat sicker people with COVID. When COVID gets into the lungs, meaning COVID pneumonia, the immune system is stirring up a crazy amount of inflammation there, which can do a lot of damage. So we try to minimize that inflammation with steroids. Sometimes, for very severe COVID pneumonia, we also give a Tocilizumab drug, making the immune system weaker.
Unfortunately, this can lead to black fungus infection. Not just because it suppresses the immune system. But also because steroids increase blood sugar levels. And fungal infections love sugar. Sugar is their go-to for nutrition. People with uncontrolled diabetes have higher blood sugar levels which help the fungus grow and flourish. Diabetes is prevalent in India. It is estimated that 15% of adults in India's urban areas have it.

I am glad now there is a non-partisan physician platform to find out the truth about what contribute to death in COVID positive patients. I am a board certified in internal medicine and emergency medicine. I have been concerned about the potential confusion in sorting out facts from wrong information. I have been concerned that many people die from other diseases and their cause of death is erroneous attributed to COVID. I do not work in the ICU. Could it be the case that some patients who have other diseases such as psittacosis, Legionnaires disease, ARDS, asthma exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, sarcoidosis, RMSF, and so on might have died because treating physicians assumed that the these patients were suffering from COVID because the test for it turned positive? My understanding is that the COVID tests are not uniform ,and although sensitive, are not specific. Furthermore, COVID is a corona virus, one of several common cold viruses. Months before news of people dying in NYC, articles came out China and Harvard recommending the the restrictions of the nebulization of bronchodilators and use of systemic steroids. I wonder how many people died from exacerbation of asthma/COPD. I wonder how many people die with COVID and not die from COVID. If I show up to a famous ER tomorrow with psittacosis or pneumonic tularemia, and have a positive COVID test , I wonder if they would diagnosis my true disease and treat it, or just let me die with /from COVID.

My husband had a fungal infection in his sinus, then one day he was falling down and not able to breathe. I took him to the hospital and he was diagnosed with covid. Hes a diabetic...was. He died 31 days later. Also they found a mass in his brain. Life is fragile, I miss him so much.

My dad just passed June 21, he broke his hip back in March and we found out on a Wednesday that he was in stage 4 bone cancer turned rapidly into lymphoma he died on Monday five days later. With deepest sympathy and prayers for your family.

I'm not sure if this is true in the case of India, but some developing countries have fewer restrictions on the sale of drugs than in the U.S. People buy powerful drugs over-the-counter unaware of the negative consequences. Steroids, often taken to treat various chronic illnesses, are known to depress the immune system.
I had Mucormycosis in my lungs from moldy hay 22 years ago. Had to get all the mold cut out. I had diabetes and didn't know it, so it had cut down my immune system and allowed the mold to grow. I had 5 puss pockets (2 in right lung and 3 in the left) that had to be drained and that's how they detected the Mucormycosis. Spent 4 months in hospitals. Been on disability since.
Thoracic surgeon, Kemp Kernstine, did an amazing job taking care of me. I was on Ampho "terrible" for a month. Thankfully, I was on a morphine drip and never had any pain during the treatments.
So sad to see people suffering like this 😞😞

I tried to buy that from a veterinarian in the US. After I told him why, he said it would kill me.
Years ago my dad was in the hospital that was under renovation. The fungus and mole in the ductwork was in the air. My dad had emphysema and this fungus got into the damaged parts of his lungs. They called it aspergillosis. Very difficult to cure. He survived but this wouldn’t have affected him but for his stressed immune system.

Horrifying, traumatic and tragic. It was helpful and important that this doctor described the causes. Health care costs and an overwhelmed system seem to be at issue. Why else would there be sterility problems. The diabetes thing too, which is why I quit sugar. I was nearing Diabetes Type II when I heard on the news that high blood sugar makes people more susceptible.
That is why we need more capitalism so that poor countries can have access to better pharma, healthcare and technology.

@De Sign It's a defense mechanism to deal with all the pain & suffering, a way to adapt, the little click in the brain that turns off emotion & deals only with the problems at hand, it happens to everyone who deals with such issues on a daily or frequent basis, doctors, nurses, EMT's, military, law enforcement, firefighters, caregivers, even family members who must learn to care for a loved one & do things that they never thought that they could, all must learn to remove emotion from the situation. They deal with all the emotion later, while alone. This is why so many people turn to alcohol &/or drugs, or obsessive exercise or become adrenaline junkies who engage in dangerous activities & sports, they need to redirect the energy, or numb themselves. I know plenty of people who appear chill & emotionless in public, but have anxiety attacks, flashbacks, horrific nightmares, act out their dreams, hand tremors, drink themselves into a stupor, get high, or turn to harder drugs just to deal, because even the hardest hearted of people have a breaking point.
You're right. Many are now suffering from PTSD. They are finding it difficult to be compassionate because most of the patients now are unvaccinated. They are angry from having to risk their lives and their family's to care for those that have been arrogant enough to believe they were smarter than people that studied viruses for more than 30 years and refused vaccination. I survived, RhinocerebralMucormycosis. Dr Wilson T. DuMornary, ENT., diagnosed me in 2009. I had a long struggle to get back my voice, walking, lost memory, lost of sight, hearing, heart attack and I still can not smell. I’ve wondered why some people with diabetes have to undergo amputations, but now it totally makes sense!
Some can just get debridement if they have money. amputation is the cheapest way to do it. But if you can afford to save your leg debridement is better.

The covid-19 virus is found in stool samples in the UK in 2017. How did it get to China is the question? When it broke out in the USA the smell of smokless sulfur like the smell of a strike match. was in the air around bus station, in front of Supermarket doors and restaurants. Some people was carrying distinct same body odor. But mostly the smokeless sulfate smell was in major areas public areas.

It can also give off a smell like a burnt match when a person has been in the sun for a long period of time even without sweating.

Shoking images , but this video was revealing and confirming thank you for sharing Dokter Mike , i am a mold survivor , i have breathed in a black/white /green mold in a time in my life long before pandemic started that almost killed me ,i could hardly breath walk , it started with a water leakage under the sing on wood and mold that lived in the wals of the house already before i moved there because the house was flooded underwater ones , but they painted over it ,but it ate itself again trough the paint and the wall can you imagine how it bite trough human cells , In the old testament The Priest came to inspect youre house and they checked youre head or scalp to ( interesting how you mentioned the brain )if they found the mold in the house you eather had to leave the place untill it was declared mold free after they took the plaster of the wall or if it did not leave but stayed there the house was to be broken down , i discovered this all while reading laying there alone in that house dying because my breathing got heavyer , but Jesus Saves God send a servant and i was able to move to another place .The other things was not far from that place at the end of the block there was a statue of a snake and people sacrifice unto that somethimes there are also demonic activities taking place that are related to curses , But There is The Blood of The Lamb and there is power in it .I Have a testimony and i will share it with everyone who wants to hear no old snake can stop that because God wants people to be healed from all kinds of illneses diseases and be delivered from any kind of curse or cursed place .

Thank you. I forgot about this. I am using a lot of compost as l replant native bush back on to our lifestyle block here in New Zealand. I need to wear a mask and gloves! I had been warned about black fungus when handling compost in a plant nursery years ago, but l didn’t know how it affected us.

Legionellosis is caused by Legionella bacteria. Legionnaires disease is common in NZ but seldom reported on.
@@israelrosales2244 I would think it should be made common knowledge? It's a high breeding ground for Legionellosis, that is caused by Legionella bacteria commonly found in potting mix.

My wife and I had sinus issues and one Dr said infection. Took meds and anti biotics, didn't work. Another Dr said saline and warm bottled water sinus rinse will work. We're both enjoying the benefits of saline rinse, working great

@@elkiepops Good morning Laura, the brand my wife and I use is NeilMed Sinus Rinse and they're individual saline packets. Also NeilMed NasaFlo Neti Pot, looks like a n old coffee kettle. Use bottled water only, warm the water add packet of saline and rinse out your sinuses. Works great for us up here in the Pacific NW. Good luck

Use. D. M. S. O. By rinsing the sinus out twice e a day. It kills viral and bacterial infections quickly and also save to consume orally. Fir inflammation pain and muscle soreness from strains. Gid bless saved my life
