Thanks for this. I was able to change the pump out thanks to you. One thing that may help others in the future is I was able to actually get that white bracket off while the old pump was still attached. This allowed me get to that awkward rear bottom screw that is so hard to access. Anyway, thanks again!
I have to tell you, you are an amazing woman and should be an inspiration for many young girls.....not afraid to fix, get dirty, learn and otherwise be a great mechanic that put many men to shame !!! Great video, thanks, you made it much easier than another video I found made by a man ! lol
Thank you. I am so lucky I stumbled across your video as other videos took apart the entire top and front of washer. My washer is in a very tight spot under a counter so it would have taken me quite a bit of time to remove and then reinstall the washer, reconnect water and drain hoses etc. After watching your video, it took me about 10 minutes to do the entire replacement with no removal of the washer. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video! I followed along step by step and was able to successfully replace my drain pump! This was my first “major” appliance repair. Don’t be embarrassed of your little scrape - I cut myself too!
Thank you so much. I bought my washer dryer combo used and it spilled water all over my carpet. I finally figured out the issue and this helped me solve it myself! Fantastic instructions and very cute cat. A+
You da Bomb! What a truly helpful vid. Thanks ever so much for your time and trouble. I am about to replace my drain pump for a second time. The machine is tucked in a small space and removing the top requires that I drag it out of its space. I dearly did do not want to do that. Last time I did and it added a lot more than a half hour. Doors and shelving must be removed and replaced, hard wood flooring must be protected... Your vid I’d proof that I don’t need to do all that. Thanks. Also, glad to see someone else bleeds while they work!
I been reading all you have to do is tilt back your washer/dryer if has open bottom(check bottom first to make it easier). Take the 3 Philips screws holding the filter drain tube cover on front. Get down and look under washer/dryer and remove the white cover holding the drain pump, unplug pump, put new pump, with the white cover and connect power. Only need screwdriver to do entire job and 6 screws. Part is $21 for oem on Amazon. You could lay washer on side also to do it, but I would put the transport screws in back to prevent damaging washer, you can get those 4 transport screws oem for $20 on ebay.
'preciate the video! just bought the same part to do this job, and this was the best one yet (plus the only video that seems to match the same model - wm3477 right?) mine's making a super grating grinding noise when the pump appears to be pumping water and it seems to cycle continuously.
Excellent video. Good job. You have the LG WM3477HW? What I have. I wanted to ask if you had any problems with the door seal gasket? Mine was purchased in 2015. I started to notice deteriorating rubber. So I ordered one. It was discontinued and had a replacement part. The top of that gasket attaches to the heating vent. It clamps on. The old gasket was deteriorating along the top. So evidently LG’s rubber composition is not rated for the appropriate temperature. You might want to keep your eye on that gasket unless you have the new part replacement. Sorry you cut your finger!!! Hope you sterilized. Great videy

Great video! Have you had to replace the drain pump on a regular basis? Ours is going out about every year and a half.
Lorin Marsh yes ..... we have had to replace about every year or so.
What exact model is this LG unit?
Where did you buy the part from? I have the same model and the same issue and would love to fix it myself if I can. Great video!
Amba Ramgoolam I got the part off Amazon. Easy project just be careful of the metal on the machine. I sliced myself pretty good!
cmedeiros17 do you remember which part number worked for you? I think I've found the right one but I'd hate to have a misfit.
cmedeiros17 ouch! I hope your hand is better now! I might use gloves or put down a rag over the metal parts.

It’s this a gas dryer ? And can it dry with out washing ? Love your video
Hi! It is electric and just uses a regular outlet. Yes - you can dry without having to go through a wash cycle.
cmedeiros17 thank you !!! 😁
