You're that guy, pal. You're The Fix-It Guy.
Thanks so much 😊👍
Thank you so much for this video! I was a bit nervous about doing this repair. I didn’t want to destroy my washer/dryer. Your video made me feel completely comfortable taking on this job. After watching your video, I successfully repaired the pump on my machine saving me time and money. Prior to replacing the pump, I actually had to manually drain the machine at least 4 times during each wash/dry.
I cannot thank you enough for posting this video!
That’s the best compliment I’ve seen all week😊
Lifesaver! For a while I was thinking that I'd have to remove the entire front panel - delighted to have found this access.
Glad it helped!😊👍
I had to come back here to say thank you! This was so easy, I fixed up my machine in no time. I love when I can fix something myself and I don't have to call a repairperson!
Nicely done😊👍
Use the little black hose in front where you pull the front panel to drain the water, it is much easier remove all the water out. That is what is meant for if you read the manual
That’s right, thank you
Thanks! This really helped me out - amazed it took six years for the pump to go out the first time. I also had the two little screws in the front of the panel, and my pump seemed to be at the 45 degree angle but it is now working wonderfully!
Thanks so much Margaret, I’m so glad it worked😊😊😊
Mine is not 3 years old yet and it's stopped
Thank God for this video! I’ve spent several hundred for this repair a couple of times now but just did it myself -POWER!
Awesome job👍😊
Thanks so much for your well done and clear video. I had a request from a good friend who said her washer wouldn’t spin out. From my time as an appliance repairman 50 years ago I had a pretty good idea that it was a pump issue. Before watching your video I had no idea that some washers used electric water pumps! I was able to have the pump out in less than 10 minutes. Thanks so much!
Nicely done 😊
Well shoot, I was about to buy a new washer n dryer, you saved me 2K sir. Thank you!
Awesome news😊😊😊
You’ve helped me replace this pump twice. Thank you!
Nicely done, I wish these pumps would last longer👍
One small update. I have a WM3488HW that is only two months out of warranty (grrrr!!!) In addition to the plastic catches, there are now two screws on either side of the lint trap - coin catcher that hold the lower front panel on. Other than that your video is spot on and very helpful.
Thanks!!!
Thank you
You explain it so well. What a life saver. Thank you 🙏😊

Great video, saved a repair call! Worked perfectly! Keep up the great work!
You’re very welcome and thanks for your support😊
Thanks this fix worked! Also worth cleaning out the drain pipe with a shop vac while you’ve got it open.
Good idea😊
Thank you so much🙏🏻 The best replacements video. Very clear how to fix and soothing voice made me get through the stress☺️I appreciate you! Aloha
Thanks so much Yuki❤️😊
Which island are you on?
Thank you for this video, it's helpful. I couldn't figure out what's wrong with my LG washer/dryer combo. I'm happy I came across this video
Thanks for the help. Appreciate your clear explanation.

Wasn’t sure if my drain pump was the problem- “oh maybe my motors propellers wobbling too” 80 curses later and I take the damn thing out and the motor propellor fell completely out. Welp thanks for your help!
Yep,
Their drain motors are awful.
Do you have any repair videos on lg dlec888w ventless dryer not heating?
Shopvac works well for getting the water out
Took my whole washer apart before I watched your video 🤦♂️
Thanks for this video this is my problem. I will be ordering a pump.
I only got one of these because my laundry room door was too small for a normal washer. Hopefully I can learn something here to get this thing up and running.
Yep,
They’re pretty good machines. Just need the internal dryer ducting cleaned out now and then 👍
I have the same washer/dryer. We dont have the lower panel to remove do you have any recommendations?
You can unplug it and then come in from the back by removing the screws that hold on the big round vent tube and then wiggle out the tube, then you can reach in and press the button 👍
Hey Scott, I have this washer/dryer combo. Is this just a universal pump for this or do I have to look up the #?

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel thankyou! I just got it today from Amazon....and it's the exact one. Lucky for me🙂
Nice job Anne,
Please let us know how it goes 👍
Nice job Anne,
Please let us know how it goes 👍
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I will👍 I ha be to say tho....I'm getting pretty good at emptying the water out through the little hose in between cycles. Can't wait till I can do laundry the normal way😂
I have a similar LG washer that's getting a PF code. Basically, when I try to run it, it will die and next time I turn it on, PF code as though it had a power failure. I'm trying to figure out how to get the main board out. I see it is in the same location on this machine, but for the life of me, I cannot get the thing to move. I just wanted to examine for loose connections or obvious shorts, but DAMN, terrible location for the board. Your video at least gave me the idea of tilting the thing backwards. At least now, I won't be laying on the floor trying to figure things out by touch with only one hand...lol
Nice Dave, can you try plugging it into an extension cord from another outlet to see if that helps?
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Yeah, I tried that and still got the code. I got the board out and tried disconnecting/reconnecting everything to see if there was a loose connection, but that didn't help. Ultimately, replacing the board seems to have fixed it, though, only one load done so far, so fingers crossed.
My LG washer has the same OE error. I took mine apart, drain pump was testing 14 on the multimeter so it was still good.(I think at least) I took the propeller out of the pump itself and it was filled with dirty black gunky water. Besides that, I can't tell or figure out why I can't get it to drain and not get the OE error. I do know whenever it does drain, it smells awful like sulfur. Not sure what to do. I took the hose that drains into the pipe out of the house off and tried to clean that out too, still getting the OE error. Is my pump the only option that would make it not drain then? No kinks in hose, it's clean & the filter at the bottom is clean.
My unit doesn't have a removable front panel and the drain is on the bottom front left as you're looking at the machine. Do you have a video of how to change the motor in this version?

Is there a water level sensor I should be checking before I buy a new pump?
It’s the pump.
They break all the time on LG.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel thanks. I've already got one ordered.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel follow-up:
I replaced the pump and it's working. It's not leaving any standing water in the drum after a wash or dry. But, even after I took the top of the machine off to clean the excess lint out of the drying mechanism, it still won't get anything dry. It just leaves towels hot and wet, which is how all of this started before.
Any further suggestions?
You can manually drain with that black hose: unplug and drain into pan and put a towel under the pump before you remove it.
Yep, super important. Otherwise you’ll get about a gallon of water pouring out
It's such a beyatch getting that part back in and screwed on! I've done thus 3 times now and the longest part is getting it back in!
You speak the truth 👍
Very helpful, thank you so much
You’re very welcome 👍
On my combo, if I blow air back into the tub, it drains just fine but afterwhile it stops again. I feel like a piece of plastic film or something causes it but cannot figure out where it is. The drain motor housing when I open the front plug, looks fine.
Please help me! Thanks

Thank you so much!!
Whats the model of the pump please im gonna give this a try...work at a hospital and during this pandemic i need to wash my clothes more often but it has stopped draining the water
i dont have a lower panel that comes off, i think ihave to go from under
You’re right,
You can pull it out from the wall by 3 feet and then tilt it back👍
Thanks!
I dint have to take the filter to replace the pump
That’s true.
awesome! Fixed mine!
Thank you😊
How do I know if it’s the pump versus a clogged hose? Everything was working fine and then it just stopped draining even after we cleaned the filter and put the hose in a bucket on the floor. We’ve only had this machine for 9 months
The drain pumps don’t last.
Very strong chance it’s a bad drain pump
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel so, we replaced the drain pump and that worked to drain but now it's leaking underneath and badly. We secured the drain hose and filter. Also, we have the newer 4 cu model which was very different in terms of where the drain pump was situated. It was extremely difficult to get to. But, do you think it's a loose hose on the inside? We had to go through the bottom of the machine to get to the pump
We live in a rural area and no technicians will come out to where we are.
My combo stopped draining right before the one-year mark. Pretty disheartening to find that Amazon sells the drain pump in a twin pack! For what we paid, LG could have designed a higher-quality part.
I've had two versions of this machine for 7 years, the newer one is even worse than the last one! I've had it less than 2 or 3 years and am on my third drain pump 😞 I was sick of paying $350 every few months and waiting for a repairman, so glad to have found this video! But yeah, these drain pumps SUCKKK
Dude... Thanks. Much appreciated
You’re very welcome 😊
Scott thanks for the vid - very helpful. I have a LG front loading washing machine and I have a question was wondering if you are available to help me? Basically I moved my front loading washer into a storage in Sep 2019 and I took it out of storage today May 2020 to get it ready to reuse. It doesn't get super cold in my area (California) during the winter time. Anyways, I noticed today after taking it out of storage that there was still water inside the washer. I could hear the water when I was carrying out of my truck. I did not know I had to drain the water out before storing into storage. Question #1 - did i do any damage to the washer by not draining it in Sep 2019? Question #2 - do i need to drain the washer completely before reusing it? I watched another vid on youtube on how to ONLY drain I will try that. Question #3 - do you recommend the best way to wash the internal parts of the washer before I start reusing it? thanks in advance!
You’re fine. You can just run an empty load with two capfuls of bleach and normal amount of soap on hot setting👍
Life saver
Thanks Frank😊😊
Can I use that drain pump for the washer model number wm3488hw?
It will work well for that👍
I have an LG washer/dryer all in one it drain but not how it used to, actually I had to use my water vacuum but drain it and the water outlet had to be rearrange because of the low pressure when it drains. Do you think is this drain pump motor?
Sounds like a weak pump, but I would check the coin trap to see if it might be clogged?
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel yes I did I always clean it once a month I used my water vacuum to clean it .
I have a similar LG washer. The pump was making rattling noises and was not thoroughly draining so I pulled it. Yours was not draining; was it also making a rattling noise? I dismantled my old pump and found the motor to be flooded with black wastewater so I think the front bearing seal failed.

thankyou very good!!!👌👍
Thanks Juan👍
is there any info from the app that diags the problem? Whats the code ?
It’s an OE error👍
Can you list the name of the thing you used you said you bought it from amazon?
It’s the drain pump.
Only 25.00 from Amazon
Thank you can you send me the link of the one you bought please
I’m haveing a problem with the dryer saying to empty water and clean filter could you help
Same change as on a LG F1403TDS
(doublepump)
I was wondering if you could provide a link for the part. We're having some trouble locating the pump that matches our model number. Are they all the same for LG front loader washer and dryer combo? It's a bit more expensive than you mentioned and I don't want to waste money ordering it if it's not compatible. Thanks!
It’s the same pump👍
What us the pump model number?
Mine is different at the base
What if you change pump and water is still not draining???
There might be something blocking the water right after it leaves the pump in the drain tube
THANKS!!!!!!
You’re welcome 😊👍
