Chris Cornell had one of the greatest voices ever. You've still only done two Soundgarden songs, so may I recommend "Burden In My Hand" if you do them again? For Audioslave songs... you HAVE to hear "I Am the Highway". Chris's voice is just so incredible in that one. "Show Me How to Live" is another one of my personal faves. RIP to a legend. And on a personal note, thiank you, guys, for being such a wonderful part of all our lives. You are such geniune, smart, caring people, and you have meant so much to so many people during these troubling times we live in.
I can listen to "I Am the Highway" and "Like a Stone" on loops for hours. I never get tired of those songs and get just as emotional as if it was the first time I was hearing them. Chris Cornell and Tom Morello... what a perfect combination.
I remember when I watched Chris Cornell Euphoria mourning live concert in Berlin in 1999 when I was in college there, the place was not big and I was standing in the front row, so I was only 1.5 meters away from Chris and at the end when he said thank you guys etc I called his name loudly and he turned to me I held out hand he came over and we shook hands...oooh my god...i was so surprised and excited...Chris Cornell forever ❤️👍🏼RIP Chris🙏 greetings from Jakarta, Indonesia
And never overlooked Tom Morello on the guitar. He was so Innovative and creative. He modified and even made his own effects. And he used them in really incredible ways. His guitar bit with all that stuff going on where it has a noise gate and then he's hitting these descending notes of a scale and it's echoing oh my God it's so hard to describe. That's in the song which was a huge hit, like a stone.
I was just about to add a comment about Tom Morello, when I saw this, I thought I would just tap into this one. Tom Morello is one of the most amazing guitar players that I've heard, and I am pretty old so I've heard a bunch!
@@kerrykeeler1490 I've seen him live in different bands maybe three times now. All quite memorable but I absolutely love the way he fits into audioslave. Everybody in there is a zen master at what they do, it's amazing.
I grew up on all those classic 60's and 70's guys, and through some great guitarists in the 80's. A lot of innovation. But I pretty much felt like no one was going to come up with something radically different. Until this guy...I mean even Keith Richards, as important as he was, was building everything he did from Chuck Berry, Tom Morello built everything he did on Tom Morello. Yes!!! Chris Cornell is a Titan of music, much like Freddie Mercury, he has so many amazing songs it impossible to go wrong. One of the top male vocalist of all time!
J.R. Steel I totally agree. You can't go wrong with Chris Cornell. In my opinion he was one of the greatest voices of all time and we are so blessed to have so much music from this amazing talented man.
chris cornell was so talented, such a great singer. i was lucky to hear soundgarden live and i will always treasure that memory. i don't know about super groups, but here some super duets that you will love: - peter gabriel & kate bush "dont give up" - george michael & elton john "dont let the sun go down on me" - nick cave & pj harvey "henry lee" - bono, luciano pavarotti, brian eno & the edge "miss sarajevo" (well, this is kind of a supergroup) lots of love, i love your videos!

That was a great band. Glad we have the Audioslave (and his other bands as well) recordings we do. RIP Chris Cornell. What an absolutely beautiful voice he had. Thanks for the reaction, I knew you would like it!!
Audioslave put out so much great music on their three albums and EP's!!!!! Some of my favorites: Show Me How to Live, I Am the Highway, Like A Stone, Yesterday to Tomorrow, Doesn't Remind Me, Revelations
This is great but it is a lighter side of them. If you wanna rock - Cochise - like a stone - show me how to live . The guitar solo on like a stone is one of my top favorites- thanks y’all love the reactions
Over the course of this year, Chris has basically become my all-time favorite singer. The sheer power, range and soulfulness of his voice is never less than awesome. But surprised for this to be a first Audioslave reaction. So as far as that goes, they’ve definitely got more where this came from. They were a great fusion of talents.
Love this band, being this song my favourite by them. Still, everytime I listen to it brings a tear to my eye… just to think all the wonderfull music Chris Cornell gifted us through the years and he is no longer with us. Despite the fact that he was struggling his inner deamons, he still had the clarity to tell us that we shouldn’t “loose any sleep tonight, I’m sure everything will end up alright”.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I am so happy you went back to Audioslave! Show me How to Live or Cochise are both great too!! Definitely check out his solo stuff as well. He was so talented. 💕💕
No one talks about one of the best ever Chris Cornell albums because the tone is so mellow " Higher truth " is beautiful from start to finish. One of his best in my opinion. Amber would love it.
Audioslave and Soundgarden are fantastic and I've seen them both live back in the day. But in recent times I've listened to pretty much his entire Acoustic solo catalog from the years not long before he died plus some other projects. It's a mixture of fantastic original stuff and covers and it's just stellar. It really shows off his voice. Some of it is in the recording studio with others, some of it is for a small Studio audience, some is in giant arenas. Some is in concert Halls and one he does is actually with an orchestra. It allows him to Showcase his voice, and I do believe he's got to be one of the greatest singers of our generation. Check out his cover of John Lennon Imagine, it usually shows up near the top of the search results and it's a live show and a big huge arena, the thumbnail has like a blue background and a close-up of his face and his hair isn't super long but it's not super short either.
Btw,Temple of the Dog is a Super group, too Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Hunger Strike, Say Hello to Heaven, Pushing Forward Back, Your Savior, all great Temple songs
Chris Cornell , what a voice, gone, but not forgotten, show me how to live is my favourite Audioslave song, awesome track, amazing vocals, as you expect from one of rocks finest.
I can't believe you're just now getting to Audioslave, but this is exciting! This is one of their more mellow songs, you really need to check out Cochise, Gasoline, Show me how live, really their whole debut album is unbelievable!
I JUST SAW SOMEONE RECOMMEND "I AM THE HIGHWAY" AND I WOULD DEFINITELY SECOND THAT EMOTION!!! ALSO CHRIS CORNELL DOES A SOLO COVER OF PRINCE'S "NO ONE COMPARES TO YOU" WHICH IS OFF THE CHAIN AWESOME!!!
I don't really listen to music from the 00's upwards, so I haven't heard this song before. But I have to admit that this is a great song/tune. Very sad that he couldn't cope in this world, and he had to leave it. But I'm sure that his music will live on, and that, in turn will keep the memories of Chris alive too. 🎶
This may be my favorite song from Chris...In the lyrics he talks about the opposite ways that people can deal with situations, and while it is a positive anthem of sorts, it has this melancholy to it, and the chorus ties the two together, "To be yourself is all that you can do." it seems like he is singing about something akin to fate or causality...we may be stuck within ourselves, even if we try to emulate others, we are still ourselves who are acting as someone else. Little fragments of experience bleed into us and out onto others as we go through the world, but we will still be ourselves, because ourselves is the only thing we can be...
Another great super group Them Crooked Vultures. Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) on lead vocals and guitar, John Paul Jones(Led Zeppelin) on bass and keyboards, and Dave Grohl(Foo Fighters and Nirvana) on drums and backing vocals.
There are so many great Audioslave songs you can hit, so I know that my request for "Dandelion" is a long shot (it wasn't even a single) but it's my favorite, so I have to plug it. Anything is great, though. How excited am I for this reaction? Well, I was in the middle of watching a live Cracker video from practically in my old back yard (I had no idea that Pleasantville has a music festival, these days) and yet I zipped right over. That's what kind of Audioslave devotee I am. (And If you think that I just slipped in a subtle plug for some Cracker, such as "Teen Angst" or "Low", well…you're not wrong, lol.)
