Just update earlier it has cause havoc with my mini3 pro . 1. Lost of live view ( on 1 occasion) 2.batteries no charging ( 2 out of 3 in its hub ) 3. Must ne something else just need to fly more ???
Why update anything ? I simply go to GavinHR Drone Rentals and take whatever Drone I might need from Gavins large collection of Updated, Field Tested, and Approved UAV Stock. Gavins also supplies filters if you ask at the pub, with a complimentary Brew. Cheers!
I downloaded the update. But when I restarted everything the RC it will not pair with the drone. And also the remotes lights are flashing with only to green lights in the middle and the mine light has gone from green to a light blue. Please help me.
Hi Curtis, great advise but that is only when there is a battery specific update, in this case it is just RC and aircraft firmware which is just understanding on this one. Thanks for watching and the feedback
Not me, in fact I was pretty much the only UA-camr when it launched that told people not to buy it and using the rcn1 with a phone was actually a better option. You can check it out here : 8 Things I DON'T Like about the DJI Mini 3 RC Controller ua-cam.com/video/eCNpNHjXDCI/v-deo.html
Just flew my 2S with the controller and it's superb.....there's no level of sunlight that can wash out the screen. Now we need a hacker out there who can show us how to add Litchi like you can on the Pro version.
Do you think this will work with the mini 2? The Air2s is running ocusync 2.0 like the Mini 2 so I would think that there is a firmware update that allows the Mini2 to pair with the controller. Fingers Crossed!
This is great but I wish I could do it. I have my drone hacked with drone hacks and can't update firmware. If I update I loose my drone hacks NFZ and height restrictions which I don't want to give up. So I guess I am stuck with the old controller. Bummer!!!
I made no secret of the fact I do think the old controller and a phone does work perfect, this just adds a bit more flexibility for those and of course the air2s is a fab drone!
@@GAVINHR for sure I had the mini 3 pro for a second but sent it back. I didn't particularly like the mini 3 but I did love the controller for sure. When I heard they were gonna make it air 2s compatible I was excited was just gonna buy the controller by itself. I also was thinking they would have a aircraft firmware update. I really want the controller but not bad enough to loose my hacks. I dont mind the rc n1 at all, maybecat some point if I don't care about the hacks I might just get one. Gotta make a choice sometimes! Lol!!!
Great news, thanks, Gavin. One question. Once paired with the Air 2S, can you go back and re-pair the Mini 3 Pro. And, how many times can you go back and forth to pair these drones. Again, thanks for the review.👍👍
Hi Laurie. Yes super simple to do, all you do is use the step in the video of hitting that connection button, putting the RC and drone in pairing mode and you are good to go in a few seconds, I limit to the amount of times you can do this. Hope that helps
Does this mean it might work with the original air2? Seeing as the 2S is essentially the same drone but with a pair of extra OA sensors and a better camera…
@@TheJpeg44 maybe in a future update then… I bought my Air2 literally two weeks before the 2S was announced… which is a bugger because I would’ve got that instead…

I'm looking to buy a smart controller for my mini 2. The description says not but there have been lots of updates recently. Is this compatible or not ? : - amzn.eu/d/1QlQvR5
Hi there, sadly this will not work with the mini 2 still even after all of the recent updates, it currently works with the mini 3, air 2s, mavic 3 / 3 classic
Be great if they got that controller to work with the whole line minis / air / air 2 and so on
Great heads up as usual 😊
Yeah it would be nice but by only allowing compatibility with the expensive drones it gives a reason for DJI to sell up to those models
@@GAVINHR yeah true that but they’d sell a fair few RC’s I reckon 😄
Is there any other rc controllers with built in screen that you could recommend?
@@birdysviews for what drone
Basically no because for the cost of the rc pro controller you may as well buy the mini 3 pro
Thanks Gavin :-) I'll link it from my video as you know I no longer have this drone
Thank you kindly Henrik! much appreciated!

Not sure on point one, when was the last time you flew it? Try charge the battery in the drone and see what it does
Can someone please tell me if the Air 2s is still worth buying to this day
yes it is
What if you do not own the N1 controller and would like to purchase the Air 2S(drone only)? Must you purchase an N1 controller?
I was having this discussion earlier, it would require the air 2s to be shipped with this latest firmware otherwise it would not connect
Don't forget, you can use Assistant 2 Consumer to do the update also.
Yep there is that !
Is this true for the Pro controller too?
Do I lose anything going to this controller that's on my phone, such as mapping, GPS, etc.?
My air 2s aircraft mid flight disconnect problem plz solve my problem
Another great video question please do have to have a SD card in drone and RC or just RC .
Awesome for dji to make the Air 2s compatible. But what about the Mavic Air 2?🙂
it is there now too
Will they I’d like to give it a go with my MA2 it still does the job !
I used drone hacks drone still on old firmware

Hey Gavin…Any changes for the Mini 2 with 1.7.8?
Hi Jason, I posted that review video if you want to check it out :)
Brilliant , thank you so much for letting all us frustrated people know !
Happy to help!
I was watching a video about this and he said there is a update for the AIR 2s batteries as well
Yes there is indeed

Great info Gavin. As I found out at 8.00am this morning. Great work and love the new studio set up 👍
Thanks matey! Yeah was an early one
Finally!... Updated mine and flew it today, been using the controller as a paper weight for months. Thank you DJI..
Enjoy it
Hey. I updated my drone and the controller and now when I connect the air 2S to the controller the gimbal shakes. Any help? Thanks.
Not sure on that one unfortunately I would have a word with DJI and see what they say
is it easy to switch betweeen Mini 3 pro and Air 2s ?
Yes, you just need to repeat the step i showed of pairing them and it updating to the correct firmware which only takes a few seconds as you saw

Thanks for that but if you pair it with the Air 2 S will it have to be re paired again with the Mini 3 Pro?
Yes it will but will not take long, the firmware is installed so will probably take 10 seconds max I
Wonder will DJI make it available for Air 2 ? Or maybe we are old news 🤔
Sadly I do not think they will allow this with the Air 2
the order of updating doesnt matter if you use dji assistant and a usb cable on your computer
Absolutely but this way is much easier of course :)
Is it true then stock controller for A2s ias better transmission than the RC Controller???
I have not yet tested this however will be on my to do list, for info when I did this test on the mini 3 I saw no difference whatsoever

Ok cause both controllers are Ocusync 3 but they're saying range is better with the stock cause of the external antennas... idk..
