    I get the same result by lowering the camera angle for the ‘filming’ shot. Run a test( where is an unobstructed safe height camera at 0 deg relative). Drop camera degrees by whatever floats your boat and fly the shot, knowing what you see is not where you’re heading. Works great for treetops/grass/water running underneath. Mini3 pro makes this really easy, though not crash proof(sigh). You can add the ‘rise/reveal’ by returning the camera back to 0 deg. as a transition back to ‘level’ flight.

    Everything Gavin is saying here is, spot on! This is how you do it!
    It is so nice now, having 4K! As, back in the day… When we had only, 260 to, 525 lines of resolution. With very early iterations of, video editing software. And over 25 years ago. I was requested to do a project. That, unless I can come up with some newer modus operandi. This video shoot, will look abysmal at best. Because I can't position any camera guys. It all has to be from, preset lockdown shots. And I'm the only camera guy running,, 4 cameras. Without any remote control systems.
    So I had to damn well figure out, how to make this production look, acceptable. I only need acceptable. But I need to make it look like I had, 4 camera guys.
    So, thanks to, key framing. I can now, Pan, tilt, zoom.. My fixed locked down cameras. And make them all move in software. And of course working with, such low resolution, analog video. Anytime I tried to zoom in. From a low-resolution source like that. You're going to get terrible, pixelated garbage. Until I got another piece of software. That had just been upgraded from a, multitrack audio production software. To now include video. From a piece of software. From a very reputable company. Originally intended for, audio production. Now ported over to video and called, Vegas. Originally a release by Sony. Recently sold to, MAGIX.
    This is Vegas software I found remarkable. Compared to the Adobe product at the time. Able to run on a Windows computer. As opposed to Apple only by Avid.
    And where I discovered, oh wow! This is Vegas is a game changer! So as I was able to zoom in. On a, 525 line or less, video. I found methods of software manipulation. Within Vegas. That was beyond remarkable! Some scenes so highly zoomed in on. You would expect it to be, unreviewable. Au contraire! I was looking at resolution. The software somehow was able to, discern, enhance, bring out. Without it looking extremely, pixelated. In fact there was none! I wondered how this was possible? Great algorithms in this software no doubt! They got it down!
    So it really didn't take me long to walk away from the Adobe Premier editing product. Beyond that of other, entry-level clueless beginner, toylike, software. Multiple versions available. From the most simple. To those deepest complex of capabilities. With multiple tiers of availability. Starting at less than three figures to, over three figures. And a version for any budget!
    So while I had also gotten training on the, Avid, Media Composer, software. I found the (then Sony) Vegas product. To have the most bang for the buck. To be compatible on any Windows platform while being quick and easy and very intuitive, to use.
    So when I delivered the product to the client. They were shocked. They told me they did not remember, any of the other camera guys? I said yeah. Because there were none! And they wandered. How all the cameras could be moving? If nobody was operating them? And never once were they able to understand this concept of, video production. In the not yet new millennium. So early on.

    If you have multiple clips and you change one clip to 1080p and leave the rest in 4k, what happens if you export the video in 4K

    • @GAVINHR

    Hitting a little close to home as I almost bit it flying my air2s this weekend. About a mile out I flew between a couple power lines that I didn't even see until I was right upon them. Had to have been less than 2 ft apart. Still makes my heart race watching the footage.
    In short, practice practice practice when you boost your confidence level practice some more.
    I'll probably upload my close call footage after combining the clips and adding some music.

    Hello from Norway again ! I noticed that in your editing program the frame rate is on 29,97 ... the same is standard in my program too ( Movavi Video Editor 2021 )... but I always shoot in 4K 30fps. Then I want to know if there is any big difference with 29,97 / 30 fps when the videofiles are in 30 fps ? One of my first videos I was shooting in 24 fps and the videos where edited in 29,97 fps and it turned out a bit stuttering ... It could have been to high shutterspeed too in a bright day...

    • @GAVINHR
      @GAVINHR  Рік тому +1

      Hi Olav! Yes that will be caused by the mismatch in frame rate between the 24 and the 29,97 in your case. In fact especially with DJI products even if you select 30fps if you look at the recorded file properties you will likely find the file says it’s 29,97 so it’s actually the same. Hope this helps

    i did a similar thing by using the 2x zoom on the camera, this gave the effect of it looking much closer to the kiddies on a bouncy castle, but allowed a much more safety distance from them, but here's where my problem began, i then did a lovely slow side curved pan to the left, that's when the tree attacked, yes it looked as if i were much closer to the subject being filmed, it gave me a false sense of distance, meaning i was further back than it looked on my screen. my perspective was way out, if i had kept a eye on the drone instead it might not have happened, but i was trying to keep the bouncy castle centred in view. and my observer got distracted also. lesion, dont become too focused on the screen.

    ... and then change the footage to double speed and be even more dramatic.

      I did nearly include that in the video actually but often it looks looks a bit unnatural but a great suggestion

    2:30 "4k is double 1080P..."
    err, no it's 4x.
    it's 2x on EACH axis, but you wouldn't say it's "double 1080P" because that would either give you a tall vertical screen, or a super ultra-wide similar to Samsung's G9 super-ultra-wide 3840 X 1080
    www.samsung.com/au/monitors/gaming/qled-gaming-monitor-with-32-9-super-ultra-wide-screen-49-inch-lc49hg90dmexxy/
    4K is literally 4x 1080p screens to make a new rectangle with the same ratio (one for each "corner")
    1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels
    3840×2160 (AKA 4k) = 8,294,400 pixels which is 4x the first number
