Great video. The update went perfectly. You do have to put each battery into each drone and do a firmware update individually. I have been out flying the Air2S with the RC like the drone is brand new. I can now see me using them equally as much now. The Air2S for local stuff and the mini 3 pro as my travel drone. Luv them both.
And, it fits perfectly in the combo bag for the Air 2S. As it is a bit larger than the standard remote, I worried that it would not fit, but it actually fits better than the original remote!

For the life of me I don't understand why they even did that.. the signal strength on the new R C is the weakest of all DJI controllers!!!!!! The New R C will give you less range!!! This isn't a good thing!!!!
It may have the weakest signal, but unless your doing drone strikes over Ukraine with it and need every last bit of range, it should be more than sufficient. I haven't had any trouble with mine with the Mini 3.
That's true but here in Ireland I can only legally fly 300 meters away. Brought my drone to Spain last month. Maximum distance 500 meters. Both countries are obviously part of the EASA regulation region.

I do understand that different Countries have different rules when it comes to flying Drones,, and don't get me wrong,, the controller is a Very Nice piece of Equipment,, buy to sell it with a Drone that has higher specs thean the Controller means you will never get the ((Full Experience)) of said Drone... @@KNIGHT-FLIGHT Yes, I do agree with you. And the standard RC-N1 is a very reliable and solid controller, with good signal. Also, the C2 label for the Mavic 3 requires that tracking from any object is limited to max 50 meter distance. I'm lucky in none of the regulations being too strict for the photography I do. Other people will have more issues to think about before making a buying decision.
I got the RC for Christmas and love it. FYI...I saw someone suggest opening the prop blades before start up as it is less torque on the motors. I noticed when they spun up, the drone moved a bit. Just a suggestion I thought I would pass along.

I've been waiting for the RC for my Air 2S for so long! The RC Pro was too much for, as I have already spent a lot on my Air2S. I hope that future drone models will include RC's like this.
The RC Remote is great, and even though it is a bit bigger than the standard remote, it fits the bag perfectly that comes with the Air 2S Combo kit. Just received my new remote and have it bonded to the drone. Can't wait to fly it!
Having gone from the mini 1 to the Air 2s, I am more than happy with the standard remote I got with the air2s. It literally only takes 10 seconds to connect my phone, that I need for orthomosiac software anyways. Plus I've read the connection isn't the best. Its great people who really wanted this for their Air can finally have this, but I'll just save my money for something more practical.
The signal is strong, and the worry about the dark screen is completely gone. Best remote out there for the money. Some even like it more than the higher priced remote.
I am curious what people think about the controller. Wouldn't you rather have the control sticks positioned below the screen like it is on the other controller when you connect with your phone or tablet ? It looks like it's upside down. Do your hands get in the way of the screen?
I also worried about the same thing, but purchased the RC Remote anyway. After putting it in my hands, those worries completely disappeared. Extremely great fit in the hands and the screen is not at all blocked. Win Win!!
Since the air2s is already over the 249 G limit why don't they just upgrade the battery as well...🤷♂️...so it can fly longer. Like the DJI mini 3 😁 ...then I would definitely go out and buy this drone..or are they...😃..because this drone is just big enough and just small enough for my needs..
I did the firmware update now I can't run mapping missions on Dronelink.i get a error (Code: 180) and can't take off I called Dji but they told me to get in contact with dronelink cause dji doesn't have no error code 180.,,😔

hello and congratulations for your video, I have a brand new air 2s with firmware version 02.04.2150. I'm thinking of hacking it but I'm not sure yet.. but before that I'd like to check the drone board by doing an upgrade.. I connected the drone to the assistant but it only allows me to upgrade to the latest version which basically locks the possibility for hacking.. ..so is there any way to be able to upgrade to a version before the last one for example on 02.04.2190 ???
Will this effect DJI Care Refresh at all if not bound to the original remote? The DJI RC originally came with my Mini 3 Pro so, will binding it with my Air2S or vice versa change Care Refresh in any way?

I want to add it the "settings" area of the app is found in two places. Go to the "profile" area to look for the firmware update you'll need. The settings option in the top right doesn't navigate there.
It is now completely compatible. I just received my new remote and it connects perfectly with the Air 2S. You simply download the firmware to the controller and drone and the package is ready to fly.
You don't mention that the controller is binded to a certain controller, e.g I followed your instructions using the N1 controller to update the Air 2S firmware. Then when I used the RC controller and paired it with the Air 2S, a warning came up to say that I only had 5 flights before it would restrict using the RC controllers not was not bonded to the RC controller. I cancelled that warning, but then another box came up asking if I wanted the RC controller (quoting the serial number of it), bi nded to the Air 2s, which I clicked yes. I had been using the RC controller with a Mini3 pro. Does this mean if I want to use the RC controller with the Mini 3 pro, I have to unbind the RC controller from the Air 2S? No one seems to mention this. All they show is selecting what drone you want to use on the RC controller.
I almost bought another DFI-RC Controller, because I thought that the one talked about so much was something different then the one I got with my Mini 3 Pro, but thanks you and your video here, I was able to successfully pair and control my Air 2s, but I do have a question about something that pops up when I “Go Fly”. It says that the “Connected device not bound to aircraft”. I have a limit number of times I can fly the Air 2s. So what is Bound Device and what does it do? Does it mean that the RC was originally set for the Mini 3 Pro and after a bit it will stop allowing the flight of the Air 2s?
Basically that has to do with the care, refresh and flyaway coverage. You don’t have to bind it they do give you an opportunity to fly it without, but if you do have flyway coverage, it’s a good idea to bind it to your account.
Anyone else get weird error messages? my RC controller says aircraft firmware not compatible :(. Even thought my air 2s is updated. Dang, I was so looking forward to this day.
me too. cant figure it out. it IS bound because you have to do that anyway, and once you do it comes up saying aircraft firmware not compatible. im not sure what to do.
I haven't had any issues with RC and my Mini 3. Can fly it 2500ft+ away from within my car, which is metal and blocks the signal obviously in an area with a ton of wifi routers. It may have shorter range than the base controller, but I feel like it isn't relevant.
@@GrendalTheBeasty Pretty sure the "base" controller (RC-N1, I assume?) has the exact same range as the RC. Peter is referring to the Smart Controller that came packed with the Air 2S a couple years ago. It has OcuSync 2.0 and a shorter range than the RC, RC Pro, or RC-N1. I am in the same boat as I also have this Smart Controller with my Air 2S and am wondering if it's worth the investment to change to an RC now that they're finally compatible with the Air 2S.

IMO The biggest update appears that Remote ID is now installed or active in all of the devices mentioned and can not be rolled back

I just broke one of the stick on my old rc controller...instead of fixing it....i might just upgrade now

The Air 2S firmware update was successful. However I now get a n error..."unable to takeoff, code 30064". Anyone else? Any ideas for a fix?

Basically that messages has to do with DJI care refresh in the flyaway coverage.
Now If only they would add Mini 2 support

After completing all the steps, my RC says it is not bound, and extra step you did not mention. But otherwise, great video. Thanks.

I have the old DJI smart controller using Ocusync 2. I’m debating on ditching it for the RC for OS3 because of connection issues.

Haha no. Spark is long discontinued and won't be getting any updates. It's also a wifi drone not ocusync, so it would never be compatible
