It's amazing that it's been free for this long. Hopefully they continue to offer it for free even after the two new DAWs are fully released. Thank you for continuing to watch. Keep creating! 👊👍
Incoming odd question. At 2:02 where there's a cut. Did you spend a few minutes trying to figure out how to make the browser not extend all the way to the bottom of the screen? I ask because I did the same thing when I first learned you could move that stuff.
I don’t have a launchpad but I’ve used a few other controllers with matrix view and they all work. I imagine the launchpad would work. It’s so easy to use pads with the matrix. Right click on the cell, click midi learn and then touch the pad that you want to map it to on the controller. You can set it so that when you press the pad it launches the clip and press it again it stops it.
Great video..... I use REASON, but will check this out if its a free option...... The MATRIX is very similar to how my Roland FANTOM 6 sequencer records... I wonder if Cakewalk will connect to my Fantom as the matrix on cakewalk seems more straight forward for creating the songs than the fantom.... Play loops in the fantom and record into the matrix for structuring ??...
About to buy a midi controller, poss m-audio oxygen, but in all the different controller reviews, none mention cakewalk, but most of the other Daws. I would find it very difficult to programme one that does not have installed mapping for cakewalk. Can you recommend any make, model in particular.
You have to drive your own mastering and mixing. Whats Db do your projects show before you export on the master? Have you got anything on your Master Bus?
Can this be used for playing a groove and immediately putting it into the matrix grid? Like recording a piano groove and press a button then its on the matrix view as a cell? 🤔 like this ua-cam.com/video/0f2KrrzsuUo/v-deo.html If so plz make a video I wanna know
They can’t force you to do anything. If you choose to go with the new version of Sitala then they charge money for it. If you go with the old version (the one in this video) then it is free. If you to the download section in their site you will see the link for the old version.
Down near the bottom you should see a tab that says Matrix. There should be an X next to it. Click the X and it will close. If you don’t see that. Up in the top right corner there’s a drop down menu for different views. You can change it to the basic view which is the default view and then you can adjust as you would like to.

Wow, I didn't even know Cakewalk had a matrix view. I should look more into the manual. Thank you for this very informative video. 👍👍👍
It's such a deep program. Lots of cool features in Cakewalk. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
The manual is - quite literally - the size of War and Peace. I find that it's sheer size makes finding specific information a real chore.
Thank you for getting to the point or editing to the point. You video is therefore packed with the information concisely conveyed. 👏👏
Thanks, Zane!! I know of this capability in CW, but have not had much success using it!! This is great!
CakeWalk never ceases to amaze me as a free daw

This is awesome! It's been a very valuable view for me as a beginner. Thank you for the fantastic presentation
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

I was just thinking about something like this. Thanks man you’re awesome!
well explained learnt in one shot....
great feature, but is it possible to control matrix view with a launchpad controler (navigate into the matrix, launch/stop clips and scenes..)?
I don’t have a launchpad but I’ve used a few other controllers with matrix view and they all work. I imagine the launchpad would work. It’s so easy to use pads with the matrix. Right click on the cell, click midi learn and then touch the pad that you want to map it to on the controller.

Also, I like your custom racks for your gear! What more do you really need?

Thanks for posting. A bit more about Cakewalk by Bandlab that I didn't even know about.
Zane... U ROCK !!! as usual 🙄 🤘
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for continuing to watch and for this comment. Keep creating! 👊👍
@@AudioTechTV I followed you since the beginning.
Ur da best !!!😉
Is there a way to record directly in the matrix with a MIDI keyboard instead of importing existing loops?
I just played around with it, and seemingly you can drag audio from the main timeline into the grid!

Cakewalk question- Everytime I export to Mp3 or Wav or any export mode, the volume is super low. I can't figure this out. Anyone got a fix or advice?

but is easier to drop the loops in the tracks, ctrl + L and extend the loops

@@AudioTechTV Got it👍
So the old version is free
I accidentally clicked on the Matrix view and now I can't get rid of it. Any suggestions?

@@AudioTechTV How did I not see that? 😄 Thx.
Cakewalk need development.
