In this video Zane from Audio Tech TV (formerly Simple Green Tech) does a

I also show how to add virtual instrument plugins in Cakewalk like adding a drum beat to your song using the included drum plugin. You'll see multiple ways to work with midi in Cakewalk plus how to record midi in Cakewalk with a midi keyboard and with your computer keyboard. You'll also see how to arrange a song in the timeline, how to use the cakewalk mixer, and how to add FX plugins plus more. By the end of this Cakewalk tutorial you should be confident enough to start creating your first song. If you're just getting into home studio music production give Cakewalk a try. Thank you your great!!!!
@@jerbal9360 thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
I never found a single tutorial on how to split your keyboard into 2 different sounds (two synth for ex.) So bass or arpegiator on left, 1octave to C note and right octave pad to give an example.
Can you please help me out ?
Thanks.
I appreciate you taking the time to explain everything so thoroughly. I've been wanting to try making music but it feels overwhelming with all the information you need to know. This video is a lifesaver. Thank you.
I see you everywhere man
Ahhh hello Caleb 😅
Oh you’re part of the talentless writer cult. Let’s go!!!!!
Absolute beginner, and have to say this tutorial was smooth as butter sliding down a hot pan.
Love that analogy. Glad the video helped. Thank you for watching. Keep creating!
@@AudioTechTV Where are the undo and redo buttons?
@@operasinger2126 Just use the shortcuts ctrl+z (undo) and ctrl+y (redo) it makes your life a lot more easier
@@buonopesci Thanks for that! I am going to start using software soon. Take care!
Sweet Jesus that is smooth
My dad used to make songs on cakewalk a few years ago. Today, I'm taking the first steps to learn it myself! Thank you for the tutorial. I can't wait to see what I can create here!
hows the progress coming a long?
@@badgirlmarc207 how about yours?
I really appreciate your tutorial style man
A lot of tutorials can either be dry or over-the-top like they're trying too hard to be cool or funny but this is just a well-paced, well-sectioned tutorial that's not too dry or slow to stay focused on
Thank you so much for watching and for the feedback. I really appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Keep creating! 👊👍
You said it
I know how to use cakewalk but I keep watching these type of videos for refreshes. You're a godsend for beginners! Keep up your work! 💯
Right on. Nothing wrong with refreshing/reminding yourself of what you can do. Sometimes it can inspire you to try something out which could lead to a whole new song. Thank you so much for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
I have been struggling with cakewalk for a while and I am thrilled that I found your tutorial. I love how you simplified it every step of the way to make it easier for beginners to understand. I am looking forward to more videos and would love to know how to set up the fender micro in cakewalk, and sink voice recording with thek recorded instruments.
I am a 20+ year drummer who always had studios or guitarists mic and mix my stuff. Now I have a roland e kit and I'm learning to mix myself and these are the videos that will let me record EPs and demos myself. Thank you!
Glad the videos help. It feels great to be able to record demos and albums, EPs, and singles at home. Lots of fun and creative freedom. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
I'm just starting out using Cakewalk so this video is super helpful. Thanks again Zane!!!!!
Right on! Glad it's helpful. Thank you so much for continuing to watch. Hope you like working with Cakewalk. Keep creating! 👊👍
THANKS! Been searching awhile to find someone that can teach it well. And at a cool pace not all fast. I try to pay attention. Everyone else so quick. 💯
You're THE MAN, Mr. Zane!
You got right to it, moving quickly, and showed us lots. Yes, you gained a new sub. Thank you. Best of continuing success, Z-man.
Thanks Zane, this video was so helpful. I upgraded from Audacity to Cakewalk about a week ago and It did feel a little intimidating at first lol. I figured it out pretty fast but you answered a lot of questions I had. I got really into bass guitar like a year ago and I'm obsessed. I'm learning as much as I can about music. I got my little studio set up going and learning a lot of theory, production, composing, arranging, etc. I think I'm gonna to try and create my first song
Right on! Glad the video helped. Have fun with your first song. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Jusr found this channel after installing cakewalk. Im just learning to sing, and play guitar, and never recorded before. This bloke seems great, so easy to follow, a easy on the ear American accent, no hyperbole, just facts. Subscribed
you are the only person i've seen give a slow, easily understandable cakewalk tutorial. Props!
Thank you for making this! I watched a few other "beginner" Cakewalk tutorials and they weren't nearly as comprehensive.
Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. I hope it helped. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Seriously excellent! So clear and concise. Thanks so much for spending so much time making awesome videos like this, they make so much difference to people like me that love to play and have just started investigating the world of DAWs, which seem pretty daunting to begin with. Tyvm! I'd checked about 4 tutorials, this has been the best one so far!
Great tutorial. I used Cakewalk for years, but life took me away from music for quite a long time. Coming back, this was helpful in ramping back up on using Cakewalk.
Just learning Cakewalk and have watched quite a few videos. So far, yours is the best. Thanks.
Glad my videos have helped. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Keep creating! 👊👍
This is exactly what I am looking for! Thank you!
Thanks so much. I am new to the concept of recording and mixing the music I play. I started becoming involved with the hardware, software, and all other aspects to performing on line, zoom, jamulus, and others when we were all shut down due to Covid. What a journey! Between a language the industry has of it’s own and uniqueness of each piece of hardware it is nothing less than frustrating. As far as DAW’s go I have tried many, oh my. THANK YOU for this video. It is the first that I have seen that COMPLETELY explains everything to get started. As an example many tutorials will click on %#@$ button, but never show where the button is. Reason enough to go postal. You showed the button and it worked. Fantastic thanks.
A great tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
This was actually a great help. I will return and see more. Good help on drums. Thank you..
Thanks, mate. Very clear tutorial.
The best UA-cam Cakewalk Tutorial in one Video i viewed so far, i am impressed how you summarize everything important in this tutorial with an excellent chronologie.
Glad you enjoyed it. Best of luck on your Cakewalk journey. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Stick with it and you’ll master Cakewalk in no time. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Thanks Zane! Having just downloaded Cakewalk onto my new PC, I have found these videos really helpful. It's been a long time since I used Cubase on an Atari ST (honest!) and the world has moved on soooo much that it has been rather overwhelming. You videos are clear, concise and easy to follow, which is just what I need right now! Thanks so much for helping out!
Wow an Atari ST! I had a friend that had one with music production software. I was jealous, I was still using a couple of cassette recorder at the time. Lol. Glad you found my videos helpful. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
@@AudioTechTV The Atari ST with its built in MIDI interface was the gateway for me... I had a few synths but the machine opened the door (DAW?) to being a solo performer. I loved that thing. Around 2002, I fell out of love with making music (all sorts of reasons...) but around 2015 I found I wanted to get back into it but - wow - everything had changed so much! Been DAWless for a while but the time has come and Cakewalk seemed to tick all the boxes (...and it's free!!! how can that be??? Amazing!). But it's going to be a long learning curve, but am very much looking forward to learning it and benefitting from your knowledge. Thanks so much so sharing and helping.
Thank you for the tutorials. Thanks to you, I came to this DAW and I am thrilled.
Glad you’re enjoying Cakewalk. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Thanks a lot for the tuitorial, you explained it very well. Helped out a lot.
Glad it helped. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

Nice! This was much needed; just downloaded the DAW today and ready to venture out from the one I've been using for 5yrs or so. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Why is this video under-rated. This has got to be one of the most easy to understand tutorials ever. The fact that he made a simple arrangement using cakewalk and made it look so easy is blowing my mind figuratively. Props to you sir.
Thanks for this video-you put me on-no doubt-good looks man.
Just came across this video today and have installed cakewalk yesterday. This is the best video I have seen so far. I also just subscribed to your channel great work!!

Zane, I really like all of your Cakewalk instruction videos! It's a lot to learn, but you make it very clear, and go step by step. Your pace is just right! I dabbled in Audacity recently and didn't care for it. Before that, it was n-Track Studio which worked for me for years, but lately something changed. Thumbs up, and I subscribed!
Glad you like the videos and they help. Cakewalk is an incredible free program. Good luck with it. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

I wanted to see if I could find other cakewalk tutorials outside of the one creator I have been trying to follow and stumbled on your channel and this video by pure accident. Been putting off doing anything with cakewalk and music production because I've been so lost in the interface and all this other intimidating newbie stuff. But this walkthrough video is extremely well put together, clearly articulated so far (only about 60% through the video), and it's been IMMENSELY helpful. Thank you!
Definitely subbed because I see a few other videos of interest that I'd like to check out after this.
I’m glad you found this video helpful. Thank you for stumbling across my channel and watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Brilliant and crystal clear. many thx 😊

Your video is a perfect learning tool; I sincerely appreciate the time and thought that you put into making the presentation so concise verbally, and easy to follow visually. [I recently spent days reading through a 70 page manual for a tascam DP-03SD; and 11 mins into your video, the use of multiple instruments using f/x amp sim, has made starting up with Cakewalk seem so simple. 😅What a relief that the learning curve for Cakewalk is so much quicker to get to make an entire song with various instruments; using amp sims, and midi, for keyboard and drums. I am looking forward to watching the rest of this video - Thanks to you, I am going to be able to start using Cakewalk, to try out my midi drums, and keyboard, this afternoon. Much sooner than I anticipated; given how prohibitively time consuming it was for me to get up to speed with modern pc, and audio gear; I have been reading more instruction manuals, and watching tutorial videos 😖than grad school exam week. Originally setting about to convert my old 4-track cassettes into digital ( back when all I needed to know how to use were instruments, amps, mics, tsr cables, the 4 track, and a cassette player). After buying an audio interface, stereo monitor - I got a new keyboard, 8 track, mics, drum midi controller and built a faster pc hoping to get up to speed with modern DAW. Just wanted you to know, this video has made my day. ✨ The amount of steps to get from point A to B, so I can create a song with guitars/keyboard/percussion and vocals - with the plethora of new options, enabled by modern audio tech, has been made less of a tedious labyrinth thanks to your excellent educational 🥇Audio Tech Tv. 👍 Keep up the great work!
you are a LIFESAVER!! thank you sm!! 🖤
Glad the video helped. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Thank you brother. Just downloaded cakewalk and had know idea where to start. Especially since I've never recorded my music.

By far the most understandable and easiest explaination video of cakewalk
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Very clear. Thank you Sir
Just subbed. Great job explaining the functions. I was getting flustered. Off to make a demo now.
Really great video. I've been using Cakewalk since version 3 (by 12 tone Systems) Yes, I'm that old.
There's so much about Cakewalk that I haven't learned or used. I start fooling around with my music. Then something comes up and I don't touch it for a few months. So, anything that I DID know I have forgotten and have to start all over again. And now that covid is keeping me in the house I suddenly find myself with a ton of time on my hands. I'll be binge watching your vids and trying out everything I've learned.
Thanks for posting!!!
Thank you for this One!
I really like using cakewalk (albeit after just one day 😅). After I got my midi controller and audio interface device drivers installed, everything simply worked when I went through the steps shown in this tutorial. I can't say the same about some other DAWs and some of the other ones weren't so kind with introductory plugins as well. Great tutorial on a great starting DAW!
Thank you sooo much. It was really useful
You are really good at communicating. No uhs, umms, hmms, none of that stuff. Thanks for making these videos!
