Hello IrixGuy, Lennie here. Thanks for the explanation and so sorry for not checking back sooner. You're help is greatly appreciated, just got side tracked with other business for the past month. Keep up the great tutorials. Best of luck in business.
Thanks so much for the kind words and please let me know if there are any ATEM Mini Pro tutorial topics that you'd like me to try to address. #ATEMMiniPro
Question…how can I use a second monitor for only viewing my laptop, and the main one see the multi cameras view. Where can I plug this extra monitor to?
That’s simple and take the ATEM out of the equation to make it easier to visualize. Connect a second monitor directly to your computer via HDMI cable, DisplayPort cable or whatever of type of cable that your computer uses. Assuming that you run Windows, set the monitor that you connected to “mirroring.” The external monitor should now mirror what appears on your laptop’s monitor.
Expand this video’s description and you can find the link there. Otherwise, please feel free to message IrixGuy on Facebook and I’ll happily reply with the direct link!
My apologies....I had a link error. The cable can be found there now. Just click "ATEM Mini Pro" link within this video's description and the cable will appear below the first paragraph on that page. If you are looking for anything else, please ask and I'll try to find a link for you!
Do I have to have that software on the computer I want to display? We connect our black magic to a laptop to stream from, and we have a regular camera set up as “camera 1”. We would like to connect “camera 2” to our extended screen on our PC (which is our projector screen)…
Just use a cable like I have linked within this video’s description. Plug that into an HDMI input on the ATEM and it should behave like a monitor. So HDMI INPUT 1 - Camera, HDMI INPUT 2 - Cable from your laptop & HDMI OUTPUT - To your projector screen
Yes, I do that for some of my live shows! It works great! Check the link within this video’s description to ATEM Mini Pro and accessories! Thanks in advance!
My PC has dual monitors set up. Can I use an HDMI from the PC to our ATEM mini pro and display one of the monitor screens with lower third graphics? I’m having trouble getting my screen to be mirrored/displayed in the ATEM. Is having dual monitors the issue?
Think of each HDMI input as a “virtual monitor” of sorts. That I mean is if your computer had 3 monitors connected to it and then you disconnected all 3 and plugged into HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and HDMI 3 that the ATEM Mini Pro would then be the 3 Monitors that you could toggle among. To view what each “monitor” is displaying though, you’d have to view it within MultiView.
We have a computer running a worship presenter over a projector . So I got a splitter and sent an hdmi to the atemmini pro iso . But nothing shows up on my feeds . So I ran that hdmi to a spare monitor , and it shows up perfect . Any suggestions ?
What happens if you connect a different device to the projector? Does the problem follow the projector or the ATEM? Does the projector have multiple inputs to toggle through? Just a few quick troubleshooting thoughts......
@@IrixGuy it follows the Atem .. I have another little longer hdmi.. although it has a signal booster.. and it does the same thing .. not sure if it is very finicky about signal loss .. also have you ever seen a pink line on. The left side of the screen ? It is always on the same side . Was hoping to use this for transitions with power point .. but may have to try something else with all the issues .
I’m trying to use my atem mini to display what my cameras are seeing on my projector screen for the members in my congregation. We currently have our cameras connected to our Mac running ecamm live broadcast software. Any tips? Thanks
Is it coming into the projector via an HDMI cable? If so, you could plug that HDMI cable into one of the four HDMI inputs on the ATEM Mini instead. If you wanted to have BOTH the project and ATEM Mini, you could install an HDMI splitter (one to ATEM and one to projector). Without seeing your setup, that's what I'd assume at least.
I have the same multiview monitor and Atem. I can extend display to another monitor with no issues. However if I try and so it through the atem it won't work.
@@IrixGuy yes that's the way I have it, with hdmi from a Mac plugged into Cam 4 slot. The screen from the Mac won't mirror. Tried an iPad and that worked with no issue.
@@trevortucker6345 Did you try connecting that Mac and same HDMI cable to a different display to see if the problem follows the Mac? Have you tried a different Mac resolution and have you rebooted the Mac, while connected to the ATEM? Just a few thoughts......
i like ATEM Mini Pro because it looks solid and there is no paid subscription (at least currently). I use Skype when I need to pull guests into my livestreams. #ATEM
Hey man, Do you know If I could by anychance input another pc to my atem so I can capture another screen and then make that display smaller so I can have my camera angle and my output from another computer?
There are 4 HDMI inputs, so you have a lot of options. i.e. 3 computers and 1 camera, 2 computers and 2 cameras, 1 computer and 3 cameras, etc. :) #ATEMMiniPro
Everything on the extended display is visible. Out of best practice, I close all other applications and only open the applications that I intend to make public. Anything that appears on the extended display will be visible. There is not a way that I'm aware of to hide portions of that screen.
What if I don't need the multi-view and just want to have program output to show my audience can will I have a switch button on the device without using the software
@@IrixGuy how is this achieved? I seem to be able to only show either multi view or program on both my desktop monitor and projector screen. How do I set it so I see multi view but my audience only sees program?

Thanks man, good video as it explains what we wanted to know.
Glad it helped
Is there a way to show Atem multi view on desktop monitor but program only on a projector screen?
I THINK that may be doable with the larger ATEM Mini Pro Extreme. The Pro only has one output for a monitor.
@@IrixGuy yeah, I discovered they after buying it. That’s a huge omission-not having a program and a preview out.

Will this setup allow for the audio to be transferred with the video also, to be shared to the stream from the computer also?
There are a lot of ways to transmit video and audio with ATEM. Which equipment are you using?
@@IrixGuy I want to stream a welcome video loop with audio through one of the HDMI ports on the Atem from a laptop.
Can you use a usb-c to HDMI cable to connect a MacBook Air to an Atem Mini as a input source? I'm thinking of buying an Atem Mini.

How would I use a stand-alone monitor to extend my laptop monitor and still mirror my ATEM???

Your physical monitor has to be plugged into the ATEM video out port. If you’re using “extended display,” is a virtual monitor.
