Thanks for the kind words! Here are a few answers: 1. Nope, not redundant at all because of how many audio inputs it offers, plus the sound pads! 2. Yes! Glad you're here! I can't say specifically about how it'd work with a MacBook Air, but in general, if your streaming apps are running ok now, it should be fine. The computer sees the ATEM as a webcam, so I don't think there's a lot of processing power there. The ATEM does have built in fans to help with the heat. Man, I was watching another youtuber and was wondering how they kept switching cameras so seamlessly. A very good review Tom and keep up the good work!
Grass Valley Group led the way for switchers back in the day. I used them in different settings. Every station I went to had a GVG. Plus, my friend's mother worked for the company.
I work at a small private college, and my Atem mini gets used daily. I now have the regular mini and the Mini Pro ISO. I used the ISO last night so we could livestream an event and get the full recording. Afterward it took me less than 10 minutes to edit and export the final recording.
@@Minotaurus007 recording Audio depends upon what kind of event we're working. I usually try to get 3 audio recordings for redundancy. Usually we get 1 USB recording off the the digital console we're using. I usually set up a shotgun mic into a camera and do 1 recording in camera. Lastly I'll usually set up a field recorder as a final back up. If we're using an Atem Mini Pro ISO I also get the main recording as well as the ISO recordings all to a Samsung T5 from the USB out of the Mini Pro.
Absolutely love my ATEM Mini. It has been one of the best pieces of equipment that I purchased for my mobile streaming setup. So much power and versatility for (relatively) little money. The only thing that would make it better for me is multiview. But this coupled to a Video Assist 12g and Ecamm Live Pro is crazy powerful. And I completely agree with you about the lack of power button. Don’t understand that decision as there is a ton of space for a power switch.
Came for the review, stayed for the wholesomeness. But for real, been a sub for a while, stellar work and pacing. Love that you have an index in the description. And I promise this is not a review of your review channel. ...!
Oh I just realized you not only have the same tech setup as me w/the ATEM and the Rodecaster, you have the same IKEA chair, ha! And Aaron’s videos are great, plus he does a lot of live Q&A sessions for people who have questions. I usually recommend both of you, so it was nice to see that merging!

Of all the videos I've had to watch regarding my online teaching and live stream set up this has been by far the most helpful! Going to purchase this immediately
Not having multiview was why I had to wait for the Pro to come out. Pro ISO seems a bit silly though. I would always use in-camera recordings anyway if I needed them for an edit.
Hey Tom, nice review. I just purchased an ATEM mini (two months ago) and finally in the process of setting up and figuring everything out. Aaron is a great source for sure. Thanx, -keith
Tom, nice job. Also appreciate the info on Aaron Parecki. I'm preparing to launch a UA-cam channel, I do have the Mini, three cameras and other gear to make it work nice. Thanx Tom:-) -keith
Hey Tom! Another amazing video! I really enjoy your approach and your "pedagogical" methods! lol... I'd love watch a video of how you set up your studio. All the nit and gritty details right down to the connectors, cable management, lighting, sound, and the wonderful wires + connecting hardware needed. I'm in the process of massively leveling up my home office/ studio currently. Your videos are very helpful along with a handful of others I'm watching too. Of all of them, I really love your approach and style. Probably one of the reasons your channel has explosive growth! Anyhow... Hopefully you'll get a chance to read this comment and prepare a video on the studio topic. To be honest, it does get a bit confusing and then frustrating when the gear doesn't work out just the right way. Case in point... Lighting options and getting the right gear (regardless of price) to get the correct temperature, depth of field, and intensity. For sound, I bought the rodecaster pro after watching your video. Now looking at the Atem mini. It sounds like you'd level up to the Atem Mini Pro, is that right? Now, even more, content ideas about how to set up the systems to get the best sound quality. I also added a Shure SM7B, Rode PodMic, and Sennheiser HMB 300 to my gear list when I purchased the rodecaster pro. I'm going all-in with my content creation in 2021. I'm working on learning as much as possible to crush it, just like you. Anyhow... Very long comment. Keep up the great work Tom! I truly appreciate you. =)
Thank you for the kind words Andrew! I've done a studio tour video, but it doesn't go into all the little tidbits of connectors and whatnot. Maybe that could be a good idea? It might end up being long, but I'm kind of interested in it.
The Atem mini is great. I used it to film a multi-cam meeting with a bank and was able to just have it on the floor below my tripod and tap the buttons with the tip of my shoe. It almost eliminated the need to edit. All I had to do was use the in camera footage for sections that I was not happy with
This was a very informative, & educational video. From studio equipment, professional equipment, & something I can buy. Thank you for posting this video. You sir have a new subscriber. Dam... I don't have a pc. She died in a blue puff of smoke. But my new rig will have this. My Space Station could very well use this..
Just found your channel, great video thank you! I wasn’t going to subscribe but then I noticed your office walls in this video! “SUPER RAD!” You got another subscriber here!!!
You read my mind! I wanted to have a home audio and video podcast setup like what you demo'd here. I liked the idea of using the Rodecaster for audio processing but wasn't sure if that would work with a video switcher. Thanks for the tips!
It's great! I'm sure customers would love it and there's an infinite number of ways that you can customize the overall setup to suit your specific needs/workflow.
Dang, you showed off the old switcher board made by The Grass Valley Group, back in the day. My dad worked there and was apart of that… what are the odds.. 😳
Excellent review. There is many models ATEM Mini, ATEM Mini Pro and ATEM Mini Pro ISO. Pro model can stream Live, ISO model can help save all different camera streams separately.
They're all awesome- I just wanted to go with the least expensive since I'm only doing basic switching. I also know myself, and if I'm spending $600 or so on a higher end model, I'd eventually end up getting the $2000 overkill version that I absolutely don't need. So this protects me from myself!
Love how easy to understand your show’s content. Are you planning on chatting about the Atem mini pro extreme? And maybe if you can chat about bringing it video to your show. I’m planning a show that will have clips of the guess content to reference. And current the atem will not let you have pre recorded clips to fire off during your interview.
The Extreme might be too extreme for me, but keep an eye on Aaron Parecki's channel because I know he just got one. Who knows though, maybe one day I'll get one! As for video clips, I handle that sort of thing with Ecamm Live, which works really well.
I only saw that you made a video about this device and I purchased it I only finished watching the video after my purchase you should know you're a great salesman and you convinced me cuz others didn't convince me it but as soon as I saw you did make a video about it and as you said in the beginning I'm this is going to be a very good review and I paid it for my own money cuz I don't have sponsors I just bought it and I'm hoping to be as satisfied with this devices you are
I'm sure you'll really like it! I'm definitely not trying to sell anything, but I do get really enthusiastic about tools that are genuinely helpful and I like to talk about them/share what I know.
It really is! I definitely recommend checking out the Pro model though. This one is perfect for me, but the features of the Pro seem to be the sweet spot for most people.
Excellent video, Tom. I was thinking about buying one of these and now I'm SOLD! I especially appreciate that you demonstrated the functionality with Zoom. Definitely makes for more interesting virtual training.
The best feature of the Mini Pro is it is also a hardware-based encoder. You can stream to YT, FB and Twitch natively as well as RTMP CDN's. We have one for a month now and after kicking the tires, it's a nice combo of switcher/streamer. When you consider the price - it's even better. Only drawback - it gets really warm (not sure if that will impact long term durability?)
Hahahahaha!! I got the AM and the first thing I got crazy looking for... the on/off switch. I've been tempted to comment in the various groups I joined, but I'm afraid of the replies =) it's so good I'm not the only one. And thank to you now I know BMD just doesn't put an on/off switch in their gear (weird) Cool cables, you mind sharing a link to those?
You _are_ awesome, brother, and this is JUST what I need! Thank you!! And also, may I ask what camera you are using, and color correction software? Your video and colors pop and look killer! 🤘
Thank you! I use the Canon EOS R with very little adjustments. I play around with color/exposure just a little bit using the Cinema Grade plugin for Final Cut Pro. 👍
Tommy Callaway yeah I saw looking good. I just got one a few weeks ago. Trying to see what these HDMI cords were. The colors might prove to be use useful.
Big yes to the screen sharing being better for video if you do it via the ATEM. It's because Zoom is optimised for still or low quality video when you switch on screen sharing. I think it drops to something like 12fps, which makes sense if you're sharing a document or presentation - it doesn't change much from frame to frame, so you get better quality screen sharing. On video though? It's hopeless. So yeah, I've been doing just as you have - screen sharing over HDMI. It's so much better.
Hi can I ask a question here: I feed my PPTs and iPad screen into Zoom through the ATEM (instead of Zoom screen sharing) which I find better because I can use sketching programs as whiteboards and also do PIP over slides with a greenscreen. Did you say there was a better way of doing that? Or did you mean video through screen sharing is at 12fps only? The video feed through the ATEM comes across really well when I look at the recordings...
Stephan Melchior Hi Stephen - you’re doing it the way Tom is doing it, which is what I’d recommend as well. If there’s a video component to what you’re sharing at all it’s always going to play better via the ATEM than via screen sharing.
Shout out (sort of) to Grass Valley Group! Had some friends who worked there. It was a big deal for a tech company to be in the slightly rural mountains of California like that.
My school finally order the stuff and we were able to live stream our homecoming game with the ATEM mini pro and everyone was happy and now the school is wanting me to live stream a lot more than just games
Hey Tom! Thanks for this! I've owned the Atem Mini Pro for weeks and still picked up some useful ideas for using it on Zoom and (hopefully) getting my Rodecaster Pro audio to sync with the video when I do. Will try routing audio through the Atem with a little delay. Btw... I see you rebranded your channel but can't find a post that says why! So... Why Tom? 🤔 I think it's cool cause it makes it more personal, but was just wondering. Keep up the great work!
Thank you sir! I’ve been connecting the Rodecaster to my computer via usb and haven’t had any sync issues. As for the channel, you’re exactly right- I wanted to make it a bit more personal. I was finding that people were having a tough time figuring out who I am, even after watching several videos. I did a podcast episode about it, but not posts or videos, since I figured it’s best to just jump in, make the change, and go with it 👍
Woo hoo! I recommend the ATEM Mini Pro as the best value overall. It does all of this, but also gives you the option to connect a screen and monitor all your inputs.
Those big old Grass Valley switchers were the best! I worked a lot on one of them with 2 M/E. I think it was a GVG 200? Also worked on the older one with 3 M/E. It may have been either a 2500 or 3000? Fun times! I now have the Roland VR50. I hate the fact that there is not an actual PST bus or take bar, but it does the job. I have looked at the two you showed here and I think both of them are nice. Except, again, the ATEM switcher does not have a T BAR! And to add insult, they gave it a mixer fader instead! Yuck’. LOL
If we need that extra push over the cliff, we go to 11. 🎸 Great summary Tom...I had been thinking about the Elgato for quite some time, but this definitely sold me on the ATEM. Thanks brother. 👊
Thank you! I haven't used that specific Roland, but I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I guess it depends on your budget and if you have a form factor preference. Either way I would definitely recommend running the RCP separately into your computer to get the absolute best audio.
All good BUT only 1080p & I honestly believe 4K is the only way to go going forward. I currently use 4 different cameras during my Live Streams and will be adding two more soon. I use the software “Touch Portal” and my iPad to do my camera switching. I love all your videos, keep up all the good videos mate Cheers from #iSpike Western Australia 👍🏻
Yes! Just signed up to you podcast list.... Knew I would be able link in with you! Atem Mini or Pro? Which do you think just for a podcast? I think the mini will do for now
If you need the ability to use multiview and see all of your angles, or to record directly to a hard drive, then the Pro is the way to go. Otherwise the base model will have you covered.
I've been reading through the comments, and maybe you have already addressed this in a previous video, but those HDMI Cables are pretty, it's the little details that make it, can you drop a link to those bad boys?
It’s definitely the small details that make the biggest difference. Here a link, but FYI, they are hdmi to mini hdmi (since that’s what my camera needs): www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B088NP25YF?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Great video. We are looking at starting a new video podcast. I have 3 GoPros we plan to use. Also going to use OBS. Been looking for days for a nice switcher. So glad I found your video. I've subscribe so I can watch and learn more.
I thought you were cool and wanted to be your friend, then I saw the Aquabats poster and I realized you were Super Rad! I don't know where you live but come to Des Moines, Iowa and be my friend. P.S. Can't get enough of my ATEM Mini Pro.
@@tombuck of course you are! I used to live in El Cerrito/Alameda and my parents lived in Simi Valley. Career pulled me here. Keep up the cool stuff, I'm currently falling down a rabbit hole of your videos
Great Job thank you! I've seen a lot of product videos on the ATEM line and this is the best. I totally agree on the ATEM Mini I love it, I have a ATEM TV Studio 8 camera HD Mixer with Multi View too and I hate that, because it's not at all format flexible. To be honest with only 3 or 4 cameras you would have to be a pretty poor director to need multi view, Preview is quite sufficient.
Hello Tom, Most professional equipment is designed to operate 24/7 and does not have or need a power switch. The power surges from turning on and off and heat cycling are detrimental to the electronics. Love all of your jump cuts. KEN
That's been a concern, but I'm always worried about leaving things on all the time (and this thing especially is targeted towards home consumers). The fire department gave a presentation to my elementary school when I was in like the first grade and it's kept me terrified to this day.😬
@@tombuck Tom, There is great wisdom in unplugging the toaster, coffee pot and counter oven when you are going away for a time. They are not protected by fuses or internal circuit breakers like the electronics are. I would classify the ATEM as a pro-sumer device and as such it has built in protection for power related events or internal failure. The cost of a power switch is not the reason there is none.
I'm slightly disappointed that your HDMI cables aren't blue LOL! Awesome video though. I don't have a specific use for it at the moment but it looks like a lot of fun to play with.

First time watching you . Black Magic SHOULD kick you a few bucks for the great job you've done for them and us in this video.
Thanks very much Frank! I wouldn't mind if they sent a camera my way...😉
Man, I was watching another youtuber and was wondering how they kept switching cameras so seamlessly. A very good review Tom and keep up the good work!
Thanks David! I really appreciate it. 👍
Grass Valley Group led the way for switchers back in the day. I used them in different settings. Every station I went to had a GVG. Plus, my friend's mother worked for the company.
The GVG logo is burned into my memory from starting at it for so long.
I work at a small private college, and my Atem mini gets used daily. I now have the regular mini and the Mini Pro ISO. I used the ISO last night so we could livestream an event and get the full recording. Afterward it took me less than 10 minutes to edit and export the final recording.
That’s an absolutely incredible workflow 🤯
Hi Tim, which setup do you use to record the audio of the students?
@@Minotaurus007 recording Audio depends upon what kind of event we're working. I usually try to get 3 audio recordings for redundancy. Usually we get 1 USB recording off the the digital console we're using. I usually set up a shotgun mic into a camera and do 1 recording in camera. Lastly I'll usually set up a field recorder as a final back up. If we're using an Atem Mini Pro ISO I also get the main recording as well as the ISO recordings all to a Samsung T5 from the USB out of the Mini Pro.
@@timfenton4943 Thank you, Tim, but: I mean how exactly do you capture the audio of the online zoom participants?
@@Minotaurus007 I rarely record Zoom sessions, but when we do I usually just use Zoom's record feature.
I literally started my TV career with that same Grass Valley switcher you mentioned, neat to see that referenced.
It was very fun to use- felt like working on the Death Star.
It really is an awesome tool 👍
Hello Tristan,
i was just wondering can you make a quad of all 4 inputs to send out to a screen or monitor ?????
Came for the review, stayed for the wholesomeness. But for real, been a sub for a while, stellar work and pacing. Love that you have an index in the description. And I promise this is not a review of your review channel. ...!
Well my review of your review of my reviews are that it's 11/10. Thanks for the kind words!
I really liked the intro to this video "This is video is sponsored by me because I bought it"
Oh I just realized you not only have the same tech setup as me w/the ATEM and the Rodecaster, you have the same IKEA chair, ha! And Aaron’s videos are great, plus he does a lot of live Q&A sessions for people who have questions. I usually recommend both of you, so it was nice to see that merging!
Sounds like we’re all on the same wavelength 😁
👍🏼 "me and my pay check" love it!
OMG WHERE HAS THIS GENIUS BEEN.....where do I start to compliment this guys. Wow! Oh my Lanta! This will be my third time watching this video. Please make a 7 hours tutorial if you like about how you get this look....holly habichuelas. What in the world!
In my quest to always improve my YT career I have watched a lot of creators, Peter McKinnon, Peter Lindgren, Sean Connell, Nik Nimmin, Daniel Scheifer....you name it I've watched it. I think you are wayyy underrated. Anyways, nice channel, Ill keep coming back. Please dont forget to make a tutorial or a walk through about how you nail this look.
I am going to digest this channel and recommend to my audience on my weekly live streaming
Thank you
Thank you for all the kind words! I'm absolutely flattered. I really appreciate it and wish you all the best 🙏
@@tombuck thank you for your response, but I am being beyond honest when I say that your channel...[dont even get me started on the thumbs] its the best looking channel in all of youtube...not to mentioned the substance of it....anyways, I will definitely give you a shout out tomorrow from my humble corner and I'll make sure my audience knows about you. Good luck
Given your propensity to improve what you're doing already why not the ATEM Pro ISO ... or are you waiting for their next rendition of the ATEM Mini?
For once I did t need the more advanced features, so I just wanted the least expensive option 👍
I chuckled when his A.D.D. kicked in around the 9:00 mark with the flashing light. That's how I am.
Been waiting for you to go ATEM mini in your Rodecaster pro workflow.
Tom also check out @Alex Pettitt for detail on ATEM.
It’s a great combo, whether the Rodecaster is connected to the ATEM or to the computer separately.
Of all the videos I've had to watch regarding my online teaching and live stream set up this has been by far the most helpful! Going to purchase this immediately
I’m really glad it was helpful! Always nice to meet another Tom B.
Not having multiview was why I had to wait for the Pro to come out.
Pro ISO seems a bit silly though. I would always use in-camera recordings anyway if I needed them for an edit.
The Pro really does seems to be the sweet spot in terms of price/features.
I loveeeee when you throw the box. And thank you for a quality information
Haha, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Tom! I'm slowly building up a whole list of awesome gear to get in the near future and the ATEM Mini is certainly on there! 😄👍
It's definitely worth it.
Nice to see you here, love the channel!
This is the sixth time watching this video, but now I’m ready to connect my atem mini pro to my set up. Thanks
Good luck!
"This video is sponsored by me and my paycheck" This right here made me sub!
😁🙌🏼
Me too
Used the ATEM Mini for a clients livestream for the first time last night! Worked great 👍
That's awesome! I've carried mine in my backpack and it blows my mind how simple and portable it is.
Tom Buck seriously useful bit of kit 👍🏼
Hey you are very cool Tom.. Thanks so much for your help!
Thanks for the kind words!
You’re welcome! Sounds like you’re all set 👍
You're now a go-to for my wishlist of future components as I grow my channel. Keep doing yo thang! Thanks!
Thanks so much! Glad it's helpful- but don't feel obligated to spend all your money 😁
@@tombuck I need money first ;)
Atem-tion. That deserves my subscription to this channel.
Mission accomplished. 😁
@@tombuck of course buddy! Your content is awesome. I'd watch the full video even if it was 3 hours! Lol... I'd be with you to the end. 🤗😀
This dude, with his puns, 10/10
The Atem mini is great. I used it to film a multi-cam meeting with a bank and was able to just have it on the floor below my tripod and tap the buttons with the tip of my shoe. It almost eliminated the need to edit. All I had to do was use the in camera footage for sections that I was not happy with
Nice! I love the visual of switching with your foot while presenting totally professionally 😁
Thanks for the kind words- good luck with your computer!
Good luck with building your new rig indeed. Prices of Pc components are rising at an insane pace - better hurry and only buy in-stock parts!
Just found your channel, great video thank you! I wasn’t going to subscribe but then I noticed your office walls in this video! “SUPER RAD!” You got another subscriber here!!!
Now this truly does make Friday the best day of the week!
3:51 ..."but again this was $6,000", then unceremoniously thunks it on the table.
You read my mind! I wanted to have a home audio and video podcast setup like what you demo'd here. I liked the idea of using the Rodecaster for audio processing but wasn't sure if that would work with a video switcher. Thanks for the tips!
It's a great combo! I use it every day. In fact, I'm literally using it right now! 😁
I threw up in my mouth a little bit with ATEMttion... so, Dad Joke Achieved! LOL
🙌🏼
@@tombuck that smile after the dad joke *ha!*
Fantastic overview. I've been thinking about doing one of these setups for remote customer work. Seeing your setup was very helpful. Thanks
It's great! I'm sure customers would love it and there's an infinite number of ways that you can customize the overall setup to suit your specific needs/workflow.
That's an intelligent decision not to have a power button. Thus, no one can turn off the mixer in a transmission.
Dang, you showed off the old switcher board made by The Grass Valley Group, back in the day. My dad worked there and was apart of that… what are the odds.. 😳
Small world! They were very fun to use- felt like NASA Mission Control.
You should teach teachers and create simple solutions, they will throw money at you! -j
I watched your video about the Rodecaster and went and purchased it. Of course I used the link you provided, it's only right. Love your contents!
Wow, thank you so much! Hopefully you enjoy it!
The missing power button kills me, too. But otherwise, I totally agree. This thing has been great for teaching!
It's cool to hear so many teachers are embracing it!
@@tombuck I'm glad you were finally able to pick one up after they were sold out for so long. 😂
Tom you're the man. You've helped me more than you can imagine
This means a lot to hear! I'm glad that you've been able to take away some good stuff from the videos/channel. 👍
I don’t even have a use for such device and your video makes me want one!
Haha, I get it, My UA-cam history is full of videos about things I'll never actually get.
Very nice presentation. With the macro's and a streamdeck you get even more possibility's.
It's almost limitless!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your review of the atem mini. It looks like an awesome addition to a streaming setup.
It really is! I definitely recommend checking out the Pro model though. This one is perfect for me, but the features of the Pro seem to be the sweet spot for most people.
Great show. I have never seen this yet. Very informative.
The options for the money is pretty amazing.
Thank you for sharing this.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video, Tom. I was thinking about buying one of these and now I'm SOLD! I especially appreciate that you demonstrated the functionality with Zoom. Definitely makes for more interesting virtual training.
It works great on Zoom! I use it for literally 25-30 meetings each week (which is far too many, by the way).
Crushing it as always pal! Really been enjoying the podcast episodes lately as well with you and Peter!
Thank you! I wish Peter and I didn't live on opposite ends of the planet 😁
Oh Tom what did you do.. you convinced me that I need this even though I have never done a LIVE stream on my channel ever
Haha, sorry? I know this doesn't help- but maybe this will be the motivation to do MORE live streams? 😬
@@tombuck 😃 yup hopefully, I always find live stream as nerve racking so not ready yet lol , but your video motivated to atleast plan for one
Awesome rundown of your setup! And thanks for the shoutout!
You're the master of this stuff!
Ooh, that is a super cool feature!
@@tombuck offloads a lot of processing from your computer.

They really knocked it out of the park with this one.
Great post. Thanks for generously sharing your knowledge and delightful presentation. Just shared it to our producer's group on Facebook. Cheers!
Wow! Thank you!
Hi Tom. I really appreciate your reviews. Very great in-depth videos explaining in a simple way.
Killer video man. My atem mini pro is getting heavy usage, loving this thing.
Definitely- your streams are lit!
I feel so bad for my students who spend hours watching shared videos at low frame rates in Zoom meetings every day.
Tom, I love you videos man but how I know you and I would be friends is by the Aquabats picture in the background. Bravo on good taste sir.
Absolutely the most important pieces of equipment in my studio 😁
Power button would definitely be a good feature. I picked up a lot from this, thank you!
I'm happy it helped! Kinda funny to ask for something as basic as a power button, but it'd be great!
Stayed for the useful review, subscribed because I saw that Aquabats poster in the background.
Woo hoo 🙌
Shout out (sort of) to Grass Valley Group! Had some friends who worked there. It was a big deal for a tech company to be in the slightly rural mountains of California like that.
They definitely made a huge impact on the industry 👍
@@tombuck By the way... this was just the video I was looking for without knowing I was looking for it. Thanks.

Tom, I wish I new about this a month ago. I do like the elgato cam link but, this is unreal as you state! I'm buying one!
It’s really terrific and I use mine every day 👍
I did a podcast episode about it, but not posts or videos, since I figured it’s best to just jump in, make the change, and go with it 👍
I am looking into this! It is where I am starting
Woo hoo! I recommend the ATEM Mini Pro as the best value overall. It does all of this, but also gives you the option to connect a screen and monitor all your inputs.
Sponsored by you and your paycheck, i love it!
It’s been a great supporter of the channel over the years 🙏
Those big old Grass Valley switchers were the best! Yuck’. LOL
There's something wildly satisfying about a physical t bar.
Tom Buck YES! I couldn’t agree more! Since I was a kid, that has always been my favorite part of a switcher. LOL
I love how you started this video good form.
Thank you sir!
1st class review. I didn't need to watch this - but as a Black Magic admirer, I watched it anyway - to the end. Yes, I loved the ending.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
If we need that extra push over the cliff, we go to 11. 🎸 Great summary Tom...I had been thinking about the Elgato for quite some time, but this definitely sold me on the ATEM. Thanks brother. 👊
Glad it helped! 😁
As always, you're the master of a presenter. Would you recommend the Roland V-1HD or the ATEM mini to work along with the Rodecaster Pro? Thank you.
Thank you! I haven't used that specific Roland, but I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I guess it depends on your budget and if you have a form factor preference. Either way I would definitely recommend running the RCP separately into your computer to get the absolute best audio.
I'm greatly overwhelmed by your video. Thanks a whole lot.
Thank you sir! I think they want you to buy the higher end switchers for that sweet 4K resolution 😁
What are you using to capture 4K?
@@tombuck Great thanks. Just ordered the Mini and will be with me soon enough. Great channel Tom 🤜🏼🤛🏼
I've been reading through the comments, and maybe you have already addressed this in a previous video, but those HDMI Cables are pretty, it's the little details that make it, can you drop a link to those bad boys?

Great Job thank you! I've seen a lot of product videos on the ATEM line and this is the best. I totally agree on the ATEM Mini I love it, I have a ATEM TV Studio 8 camera HD Mixer with Multi View too and I hate that, because it's not at all format flexible. To be honest with only 3 or 4 cameras you would have to be a pretty poor director to need multi view, Preview is quite sufficient.
I agree- this thing really packs in SO much. Thanks for the kind words!
Hello Tom,
Most professional equipment is designed to operate 24/7 and does not have or need a power switch.
Great video. Glad to find this channel. Keep up the good work!
Thank you 🙏
I'm slightly disappointed that your HDMI cables aren't blue LOL! Awesome video though. I don't have a specific use for it at the moment but it looks like a lot of fun to play with.
