Wera bits are great and the Tool Check Plus is a good mix. I’m going to pair mine in a small bag like yours with Knipex Cobra and also Pliers Wrench. Thanks for making this video and I’ll be watching more of yours!
Thank you very much!
As an EDC carry its good for your every use around the household. As a mechanic on the job you will be far better off with the 1/4In Drive Zyklop Speed Ratchet Set
Indeed.
As a Printing Press Mechanic I use Wera tools and just about everyone in the industry uses them on a Professional level. We are also a fan of the Stahlwille socket set but they are on a totally different price point, close to a grand for a basic set. For Pliers we use Knipex which is another good brand again a little pricey, but they'll last a few lifetimes of everyday use.
Excellent! What about Hazet?
Same, but dairy/packaging mechanic here.
Yes I think it's worth they hype. I have a couple different mini sets like this but the Wera is the most refined and the easiest to carry. Very versatile. I also have a similar kit from GearWrench, but the case is cheap and seems like it will break easily, and it lacks the driver handle or driver bit extension. The Wera is expensive, but it's very handy to be able to drop it in a pocket and know you'll likely have all the tools you need to fix small things.
Exactly, 'refined' is the term to best describe this kit. 👍
Damn that's sooo amazing for edc and for bikes and many fixings around the house. damn that's so modular
And that bike kit looks amazing!
Indeed 😎
I have one and I don’t like it for two reasons.
The first reason is that it’s it’s meant for stuff around the house, but many of the screws on appliances, remotes, etc will be recessed in plastic, and the bits usually are not long enough to reach. So you end up needing another set of screw drivers anyways.
The second reason is the ratchet is just too small and short. It hurts to use, and not long enough to get leverage on tight bolts.
Everything is just a bit too small.
Valid points. I think why the Hazet variant offers an extra set pf longer bits to combat this. Also why I added the Wiha+Sabercut combo.
Imo it's definitely not a kit "stuff around the house". It's great for packaging machine maintenance basic stuff and for like motorcycle fairing removal etc. "Real toolkits" are completely different that must have like 3/8" sockets, screw drivers and ie. pipe wrench etc. for more generic uses.
Nice little kit. Expensive even with discounts - YES. But do I regret buying one - NO. ITs super handy, really good looking, good quality metal and well thought. Money comes and goes, but this little kit gonna say for years with me.
Spot on!
It's an awesome kit. I just don't really understand why you need 5 #2 cross head bits and a double set of torx bits. They could have just given only a bigger range of all tamper resistant torx and substituted with a robertson and some more flat drivers?
Yeah, I agree with the Torx. I think the Imperial set has the Robertson bits. On the same note, I would like to replace the standard torx with the ones from the bike set, the ball end hex one.
Another option could be the Hazet 2300SH-1. Its my daily companion. Brings in the Ratchet, bit holder, bit holder with screwdriver grip, 29 bits(18 are 25mm and 11 are 50mm)
Indeed. I think I mention this at the end 👍
Or just call it Hazet Smart Holder 🤔
Serial Number is needless.
You can remove the bit handle and store it somewhere else, then it would fit! Thanks for your review.
That's true. 👍 Cheers!
Wera and gear wrech are the best tools on amazon
Did y'all know if fits perfectly in carhartt utility work pants side pocket? Love it for that.
👍👍
Does the Wera bits fit properly in the Wiha Centrofix Bit holder please?
Yes, they do just a bit lower since the centrofix is a deeper profile. You can see it in the followup video with the EDC Tools pouch here, near the end: ua-cam.com/video/AZaUf201f3k/v-deo.html
Great video! What is that wiha driver in the thumbnail?
Thank you! It's the ESD version of the famous Centrofix 387 variant.

I covered it in the folowwing videos 👍
@@ultimateequipment23 awesome! Really appreciate your reply! Love the videos all the way from Sydney Australia
Thank you so much again and glad to help 🤙
I want to buy the Metric version but do they have Imperial socket set that is compatible with this system without having to buy the whole Imperial system?
Everthing uses the 1/4" interface so yes they will be compatible across variants and any other brand you can think of.
Wera usually sells all the parts individually as well.
@@ultimateequipment23 Thanks for the reply, i was wondering if they sell just the imperial sockets as a kit so i don't have to buy the whole system, can't seem to find anything.
No worries. I had a look as well. I could only find some bits, extension and the ratchet. No sockets as a kit unfortunatly. www.hoffmann-group.com/GB/en/houk/product-references/676171-?referenceType=SPAREPARTS
Maybe shoot wera an email?
Thanks, i found it. Thanks for the video and reply!
Excellent! My pleasure 👍
Its an awesome utensil - but - swap out bits to suit your needs - or - fabricate something similar
Indeed 👍
whats the small ratchet in the pouch?
Hi. It's the 711L mini ratchet. amzn.to/4aHV22h
I really like this set to work on basic stuff on packaging machines. But the holder is piss poor quality. That 1/4" screw driver part tore off like in two days and had to screw it in place. Also that bit holder swivel has also torn off few times, but I've been still just re-assembled it. Tools themselves are really nice. Holder is quite junk.
Yeah I can imagine that. Thanks for the feedback 👍
I need a bigger truck for my EDC.
Which Maxpedition case is that?
I linked it in the description. It's the standard 'edc organiser'. 👍
D’oh didn’t see it. Thank you!@@ultimateequipment23
No worries 🤗
how would you compare it to the Hazet?
If you need the extra reach, the Hazet has some of the longer bits. In terms of quality, I don't have that kit to play with it but from my research, Hazet is one of the best top tier professional brands on the planet, above Wera.
@@ultimateequipment23 both are equally compatible with third-party bits right?
I also thought about this one as an alternative:
Wera 8100 SA 6 Zyklop Speed Bitset/Steckschlüsselsatz 1/4", 28-tlg.
then combine it with a 816 RA or other grip of choice.
Yes, 1/4" is a universal standard so eveything we discussed is compatible with each other plus there are always adapters from 1/4 to 3/8 and 1/2 and mix and match. I mean look at my stuff, Wiha/Wera/Sabercut etc
That's a lovely kit for the money and a stronger platform per say. Like my 3/8" Bahco socket set. So yeah can't go wrong there 👍
You are probably right, I think I might go directly for ⅜ as well:
8100 SB 6 Zyklop Speed-Knarrensatz, 3/8"-Antrieb, metrisch, 29‑teilig
I would too if I didn't have the Bahco. Let me know please how it is when you get it 😁
Bits are good but it's far bigger than it needs to be! Takes up too much space in the tool bag for what it is
You mean my pouch or in general?
The screwdriver handle looks like the weak point of this kit. I have a wera telescopic/extendable screwdriver, that concept would have suited this kit well.
Indeed. A bit small for my hands hence why I got the Wiha.
How the telescopic one in terms of reliability so far?
@@ultimateequipment23 I have hardly used it, decent bit of kit though, comes with a bit holder in the handle. The telescopic part appears to be very solid/well designed. I always find myself grabbing a normal screwdriver though...
Thanks. I was looking at that one since it fits in this pouch. Plus the extra bit holder is a bonus. But like you said, wanted the feeling of a fixed one but compact. Some of reviews on the wera were so and so.
So far for me the wiha + any lenght bits you want, does the job. Can't really tell that it isn't a fixed one.
@@ultimateequipment23 The only real issue with the wera for me is the handle design, I don't find it comfortable. The wiha looks more ergonomic.
Ah yes, yeah, some people said the same. I have a fixed regular full size wera. I like it. If you get the wiha, look for the regular 387 one (red). The handle is even bigger. I got the ESD one since I couldn't find the regular one in stock at that time.
Lets have an honest opinion here.
For 25 to 30 bucks you can go for the bosch kit or the bahco, both these brands are distinguished and 5 times cheaper, no its a nice kit by all means but not when you can get similar for less than quarter the price, i use a kit i bought in 2008 from the halfords professional range and use it daily till the present day in a trade job, it was more than adequate and still going strong coupled with a lifetime warranty, its twice as good as this kit and half the price, so with no disrespect to anyone, this kit is way overpriced. Would i like one, yes cos im a tool whore, but got too much sense to squander that ridiculous amount on that.
😮😮😮das tool check plus set kostet 42.50€. Die Preise spinnen wohl!!👎🇩🇪
Yes, quite crazy prices in UK and US for the Wera Chevk Plus.
They do this with popular items like the Victorinox Compact SAK which is 50% more than the Huntsman but has less tools.
Cant justify buying it. It's like a childs toy compared to Wera 8009 Zyklop Pocket Set 3
The company that serviced our hardware used to hand out these tools that weren’t very good in a professional environment. So I don’t understand the hype.
Thanks for the feedback.
