Incredible! You had me completely transfixed from the beginning. Especially when you explained, if I followed you correctly, that simply listening to this sustained tone, basically, we humans are incapable of "leaving" the song. It was at this moment I inhaled and continued with only shallow breaths till the end of the reaction. 😊 Fantastic! It's a musical manipulation skill that Ren seems to have acquired, along with so many other nuanced outcomes. How very primal that we are wanting of this rearrangement in our hearts and minds in 3 to 5 minute intervals. LOL

Thank you so much. I love to understand why latch onto a song that otherwise might be pushed aside. There is so much more to Ren's genius.
Again, Ren is so strong in evoking emotions. When the guitar starts, you hear and feel fear and panic... and the echo at the end for me represents the fear that it may never end. And the question:" Will I lose her? " will always be there.
One thing I want to add are the different voices you can hear while it gets more and more intense....sometimes like ork noises in Lord of the rings, sometimes they sound like a whisper or echos. I think these are his "demons" or voices in his head...they definitely make it sound more haunting and disturbing.

The usage if this one note chant was the first thing I noticed when listening this song a few months ago. Arrangement of this song really plays the thick chello strings of my heart.
Ren worked so hard on the piano work, it was a desperate time for him ( not an act.) I feel a funeral dirge emerging as if he was writing his own musical eulogy. He did not believe he would be able to get his music out to the world. ARE YOU on a train, my man?
He said that he lives on a boat.

I have always felt that soft bass drum was like a heartbeat during the tender part of the song.

It would be interesting to hear your breakdown of Precious. It's an earlier song that Ren did with The Big Push, which was the band he was in just before he went to Canada for treatment.
P.S. If I could suggest that you show the whole frame of Ren's videos. They are so well crafted, and just like the music, I don't think any part is unintentional. Ren plays piano beautifully. I love his compositions when I hear the ones he wrote himself. Not sure about every piano pieces, if from some other source or not. His newest release today 3/29 is just all piano and just stunning. Thank you for the technical information, fascinating!

OK I don’t know your background. This is my first time on your channel. I’m a huge fan of Rens. I have pointed his music out to quite a few people, maybe 20. And I would say you have to check out this artist. from the UK, he’s a musical savant. Well, I’ve got response. Excellent guitarist., good singer, decent rapper, very nice with the pen, all the way to he’s ok, not my cup of tea. One person even said, who thinks his music is trash Are becoming pretty big fans. Nobody yet has agreed with me.Hes a savant but quite a few have said he is very diverse and pretty talented. So the reactions, even though rather small have, pretty much been a bell curve. No after watching your review of this song, I have not heard before. I reassure that I am the one who is correct.. I would love to know your thoughts. I think that she represents the way he felt before he got lymes disease. I worked in Las Vegas for several months and I’m from New York for several months. Stay in touch for several years and long relationship for a while she got. Lymes disease that was misdiagnosed for many years. sadly she’s not even the same person anymore. She is more physical than she is more so physically mentally, I actually had to send her pictures of us for her to remember that we dated and she is not even forty years old. So you hear him describe it snd it literally is physical torture and psychologically at the same time
Thanks for the comment 👍 I think those of us who don't suffer with serious medical conditions have learned a lot from Ren shining a light on it. I think he is musically gifted, an extremely hard worker, creative, always pushing his abilities mentally and physically. I believe he sometimes thinks he doesn't deserve to be put up on a pedestal, so I will just say I believe is exceptional, dedicated, and an excellent communicator :)
