This message is for the husband, look if you want to make music because Ren inspires you should totally make the music. There’s plenty of things that you can do. Maybe you can’t sing, but you may have some bars and you can rap if you can hold simple, melody, a tune, and you can wrap with a nice style, you can totally do it. There’s a lot of music out there good or bad and people do it because it makes them feel good and you should do it if you want to. Respects to your wife for keeping it real but music isn’t about being good or bad it’s about what it makes you feel and others.

Love you both and your reactions! I am a grandma from the US and had never ever listened to rap or hip hop. I stumbled upon Ren on UA-cam one day and I’m hooked! I feel just like you, Dominika! Trying to figure why Ren has such appeal. He has lived through so much in his young life that his music resonates with people so much older than he. His rap rap songs are fun and exciting! His storytelling is magnificent! His music always seems to have an uplifting message. In his interviews he’s REAL, if you know what I mean. So interesting and intelligent… he has a great sensitivity and concern for the future of the human race and our planet. Such talent is a joy to witness.

My wife and I absolutely love your reactions, this one was a peach, especially your discussions on 'talent' at the end 😂😂 One thing I will say is, talent is 10% of the equation, the remaining 90% is practice and determination. Regardless of how talented Ren is, he has been playing guitar and writing songs/beats since he was 12 years old. He's been doing this for 21 years. They say to become a master of anything you must do it for 10,000 hours, I'm guessing Ren has well surpassed that threshold. Only you can decide if you can devote 10,000 hours to a learning process, or just make music for the enjoyment of it, it doesn't have to be a commercial success if you enjoy doing it.. (Edit) I would love you both to react to the Big Push's 'Precious', Ren wrote this a little while after his close friend Joe Hughes, sadly took his own life, but it's written in way that can apply to any loss of a loved one or relationship, the animated video that accompanies the song is beautiful too... ❤❤❤
I could tell you were about to pull out some Gladwell Theory ... and I make you right! I would also add a decent slice of "circumstance" into the mix ... let's see, in Ren's case, prob some combo of time/place/social+political evolution/digital evolution/social media climate/social thirst for authenticity/Ren's unwavering YOLO ethic driven by life of health issues and now a little improvement thereof/Ren's tight-nit and massively talented circle of friends/music fans' collective lack of patience with shitty mumble rap lol ... and many others I'm sure. But yes, I agree, lot's and lots of practice has been essential!
@@horsehollerer I totally agree, there are many factors to consider other than the two I mentioned 😅I stumbled across Ren purely by accident only a few months ago, he has had wonderful material out for many years, its mad how the UA-cam algorithm works..

Ren started as a young teen by just making music. He eventually learned to rap and sing 'cos there was nobody around who could sing. DIY.

Ftr- I too have that strong very proud & protective maternal feeling about Ren. I have since I discovered Ren through "Hi Ren". Hey man I believe in you. If you want to make music you can make music. There are programs that you can use to create music that are easy to use and fun as well. When I was about 14 years old i had a game on my Playstation 1 called MTV Music Maker and I make countless music tracks with it, some better than others but none were bad. Also my son is 15 and I bought him a guitar for Christmas and in 6 months without any training or assistance he has taught himself how to play a few Pink Floyd songs and play them well at that. So if a pleb like me and a young man like my son can figure out ways to make music so too can you. Just go for it and have fun.
