Here's a story that I'll remember Kobe by. My friend in Maine loved Kobe, and my friends Dad worked border control for an airport. Well Kobe was on the itinerary for a flight coming back from Italy. So he called my friend and told him Kobe was going to be landing there. Well my friends Dad asked Kobe if he'd spend a sec with his son for a pic. Well he ended up spending 20 minutes with him. Kobe gave a regular Joe 20 minutes of his busy life to a relative nobody. That meant everything to my friend.

I have 3 girls and one who went to college on a basketball scholarship. Even though Kobe did way more than I could ever dream of on the court, he was in my exact position pushing his 13 year old daughter on and off the court. I can see all of the excitement, smiles before the games, pep talks on the way to games, watching his daughter be a silly teen with her friends while enjoying life. It is all a father could hope to be a part of and to have that along with everything else stripped away is just too much to bear.
Man I'm still trying to process all this as a bball player, dad of 2 daughters, husband, and all....my imagination cant even reach that far of how it feels for the families

I'm watching Tracy cry and I keep slipping in and out of reality that Kobe and his daughter really aren't here anymore. An absolute legend, but just as if not more importantly a little girl who never got to grow up. My heart goes out to everyone that was in that helicopter.

I can’t imagine how he felt holding his daughter, knowing those were their last moments together before they die. Not knowing what to do leaving his 3 other daughters and wife behind. Along with the other people on the helicopter that had their family members and knowing that even if they were going to die that they have many other family members at home. Even the pilot who did not have any family member on the helicopter.
