These enablers have their own insecurity and abandonment issues, they're with these obese people because they feel a sense of being wanted and needed & know they can't leave. It's sick and it's not love, it's co-dependant as they express their fears about their loved one leaving once they're not needed as a slave anymore rather than being supportive and happy about a healthy new relationship together once the weight is gone! Both partners are just as sick as each other I think.

Two years ago, I let my weight go up to 250 pounds (my fault, not anyone else’s). It freaked me out. I started a program of eating less (not a diet) and walking a lot. I am now 180 (I’m 5’ 10”) and my waist has gone from 42” to 34”. It was a slow change, but it’s permanent. My blood pressure is normal and my diabetes numbers are very low. There is nothing special about me or what I did. Don’t let yourself get too big. There are lots of resources to help you get back to a decent weight. I know you can do it.

I had my own journey where I just had a snap and wanted to change my life. I started calorie counting (of course eating much less than before) and exercising and I lost 32 kilos in a year and went down 3 clothes sizes.

Show me a clip where the subject asks for a healthy meal and are given the opposite. All I saw was people asking for garbage food because they aren’t serious about their health. There’s literally multiple clips on different videos of the family/spouse suggesting healthy foods and they just complain and ask for junk instead. What about that woman being pushed in the grocery store? Asking for sugar on her spaghetti and other garbage food. Not her fault at all, hey? And the guy who asked for fast food and complains that she only gave him one egg roll? We’re adults. Part of being an adult is making responsible decisions and most importantly, being accountable for our conscience decisions. If these people were children and the parents were supplying the junk food, that would be the parents fault. This isn’t what’s happening here.

A lot of these people aren't just enablers, they're actually feeders. They get off on feeding their partners to the point of immobility and complete dependence, it's sick and disgusting. I can't remember her name but there was one lady whose husband made no secret of the fact that he only married her to indulge his fetish. Most of the time the fear itself is worse than the outcome especially when it may not even happen.
