From Aguada, Puerto Rico, I was so happy to see you. I used to watch you in the America Test Kitchen and always loved the way you explained things. Good luck....,and bless you.
In addition to being a wonderful dressing for salad try brushing a little of the dressing on salmon before grilling and then again before serving. A match made in heaven.
Only 138 comments? WOW, this is THE BEST salad dressing I have ever had. Knowing exactly what is in it too, very simple yet checks all my taste buds. From here you can experiment with other ingredients, but I bet we'll all come back to this one over and over. Thank you Julia!
I own the same micro plane. I saw Martha Stewart grate lemons with that plane holding it in reverse. Plane on top: lemon on the bottom. This way you can see the zest as it accumulates in the plane and judge the amount better perhaps.
I do something similar, but I never thought to try two different types of oils! I’m glad more people out there Love feta - most of my friends and family seem to be on team goat!
The weighed ingredients were a deciding factor here. Whonwantsvto measure 2 additional teaspoons into a measuring cuo when Juloa gives you the total weight and you can proceed to be a success at these. and the first time i made them I scaled out 1/4 cup of the beer, which is 1.6 oz. i can just tare the scale with the warm water and add thr beer. Thank you Julia.
***This comment was intended for the previous steak salad presentation in the video prior. 😊 Actually, your original pronunciation of 'persillade' was correct. The double L takes on a Y sound. You don't need mayo if you don't want it or don't want animal products. Dijon mustard by itself works as a perfectly acceptable emulsifier that maintains homogeneity for several days in the fridge.
Thanks, Julia-- you make everything look so easy.. and delicious! We enjoy your tv shows and your videos here, and look forward to trying this dressing 👏🥗
Yummy classic French vinegrette. I’ve used maple syrup instead molasses..also very good. I found that you don’t really need mayo to emulsify the vinegrette. Stirring or shaking the ingredients vigorously, once the oil is added in, does the same.
I need a recipe for stuffed bell peppers that isn’t the old ground beef/ tomato stand by. I have one from cooking light I can’t find that had chicken, couscous, pine nuts and I think feta and pine nuts? We love stuffed peppers and they’re great for lunch the next day. Please hook us up
Yum. Will try this one. Do you have any recipes for: a green goddess dressing, a good cold Asian chicken noodle salad, and also a good peanut or sesame type dressing for this salad, and lastly a few types of grain, rice, etc. inspired energy/lunch bowls. sorry I don't know the proper name for them. All things a buzz right now, but have not tried or made them myself.
Some dressing recipes call for powdered garlic in their dressing because fresh can go bad after several days, even in the refrigerator. Is your dressing safe?
I bought that dressing container and had to throw it out because it leaks around the area that gets screwed together. Also, the dressing top where you pour from needs to be wiped off after each pour or a puddle of dressing stays in the spout lip.
There's products (Trader Joe's has one) as well as online recipes for vegetable and fruit washes. Generally recommended if not using organic. Most citrus is coated in a thin food-grade wax to preserve it. But nobody needs to eat that.
@@sandrah7512 Thank you. ;0) Perhaps they will consider putting that information in the video description/notes going forward if it is such a common question. I am sure there are plenty of people who tune in periodically, but don't watch every single video on the channel. I appreciate your response. 🎈
This is a great tasting dressing but, as usual, ATK overcomplicates it. Put everything (minus the garlic)in to a jar/bowl, whatever you're using, then either shake it up really well or use an immersion blender or regular blender to mix it up. Says emulsified, guaranteed.

Longtime fan here. I hope you are supporting your worker's right to unionize, ATK.
This is a winner! I made it for my 94 year old mom and she can't stop eating salads now. Thank you Julia

Looks good! I like serving the salad extras in chunks beside the greens - nice change. Thanks. Patricia
I like that salad dressing shaker.
Going to try this one for sure. Very creative ingredients! My giant chives are already abundant so here we go! 🍋🥬
I love everything you make, Julia! This is the perfect vinaigrette to make-way better than anything in a store bought bottle! Thanks for the demo❤️😉
Organic safflower oil is a great addition. Love the tips and explanations
Looks delicious! Looking forward to trying it. Impressed with how it stays emulsified!
This is a delight to look at and learn. I'm trying this dressing tomorrow & the salad too. Thanks.
This recipe sounds delicious! I’ve been looking for the ideal dressing that I don’t get tired of. This sounds like it could be it! Thx!
Love different kinds of homemade dressings…trying this one for sure!🇨🇦❤️

Love this. I've got garlic and chives growing in my garden even as I type this.

You first say 1/2 c olive oil and then you say 1/4 c olive oil. Which is correct ?
@@caroleg2998 she used a half cup olive oil, but put it in 1/4 cup at a time.

Been needing a staple dressing ! Now to go buy molasses for the first time in my life
Love Julia, I have a picky eater at home too she has good ideas for picky eaters; What is that knife she uses for everything I WANT IT!
Thanks for the tip about Kosher salt

That's what I was going to do because I don't keep molasses in the house. Glad to hear it works!!
Looks great! Nothing beats a good homemade salad dressing.
This dressing is the best, its perfect! 😋
Loved this and would like more dressing, an Asian dressing would be great
thx Julia. you made cooking easy
Thanks for sharing!
Sounds awesome to me. I’ll try it.
Love your cooking Julia! Delicious 😋
Remarkable, Julia!
Have the smaller version of that shaker, going to try this dressing and salad!
Thank you for this delicious dressing.
I'm making this dressing right now!
That dressing sounds so tasty and I'm willing to take her word for it on the added molasses.
I think I'll settle for Worcestershire sauce.
Looks yummy.. For sure gonna make.
Looks ab fab, another add to my salad répertoire.
Delicious
Julia Can You Please Kindly Tell Me What Brand Of Green Vegetable Peeler Are You Using There??? Thank You So Much🙏🏻
Hold the lemon and move the grater across the lemon for better control.
It was a win ! How long does this keep in the fridge ?
One week

It's from Oxo. It's their Good Grips Salad dressing Shaker. Comes in small and large size.

Thank you for sharing - love all ATK recipes. Can maple syrup be subbed for molasses?
I make a similar dressing but use honey. I would think any of the 3 can get your taste buds where you want them!
I love it I always watch you at American test kitchen
Can you do more simple salad dressings like that?
Does anywhere know where to get that gorgeous salad bowl?
Yummy!
Would be nice to see a recipe for the dressing.

Would there be any way to inquire about purchasing one? Thanks!
Would anyone know where someone could purchase that beautiful wood bowl?
Your looking Lovely Julia.
Some years back I tasted a carrot salad dressing. It was delicious. Do you have a recipe for a salad dressing made from carrots.
They don't, at least in their app. But if you search Google for Japanese Carrot Ginger dressing you'll come up with obe I use, and it's fabulous!
@@lisaboban Thank you very much
Where did u get container , you mixed dressing in
What could I use instead of the mayonnaise?

How do you keep the apples from turning brown?
What could I use to substitute molasses?
Honey for sweetness. You won’t get the dark colour ….but I go for taste.

Omg looks so deiluous I'm definitely gonna make this surprise my honey💯❤️🤤🤤🤤
California Olive Ranch. Nice domestic choice. :)
What shaker is that?
Try adding Celery and Tomato's 🍅
Avocado oil is much better than vegetable oil
That’s been my choice recently too. I use it to pan fry, saute, roast, etc.
