Hard, hard racing with a handshake at the end - great battle!
Steve Hislop was one of the most naturally gifted flawed genius’s motorsport has ever produced he won 11 TT’s, 2 British Superbike championship’s and was also highly successful on the world stage he was one of the best never to win the world championship
James Whitham was a brilliant rider with a steely determination to win, he won almost every British championship there was to win including the BSB championship twice which made him difficult to beat on British short circuits, but he was never quite as brilliant on the world stage. His come back to the BSB championship after suffering from cancer in 1996 was fantastic
2 great riders with great success in there own rights it’s just a crying shame one of them is no longer here with us anymore
RIP Hizzy 🏍🇬🇧🏍🇬🇧🏍🇬🇧🏍🇬🇧🏍🇬🇧🏍
Very well put , hizzy on his day untouchable, Mr whitham never lacked courage both entertaining to the flag
Class riders. Whitham was all over the place and still kept in there.
I was there, loved those days, loved that racing.
I love Donington Park, both as a spectator and a trackday rider. Wrote my Urban Tiger off on a trackday there several years ago. Fun times. 🙄
Two legends 🏁🏁
Hizzy was my all time hero.
met Steve Hislop and chris Walker at a Kawasaki Riders club meeting just off the A38 near Burton upon trent, both complete gentlemen,i was honoured.
I recall reading when Hislop got a 120mph lap of the IoM TT. It seemed such an impossible record to beat.
Two excellent and committed riders in this clip. Wonderful stuff
Great battle of men'
amazing how riding technique has changed so much over the decades
How many more British titles and isle of man TT race wins but for a life cut short ,,rip Steve hislop and Jamie now an ace comontator for bike racing great video ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Love the Yamaha YZF SP 750 😘👌🏻😍💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hislop one of the best riiders ever, I have 2 of his Arai Replica Helmets.
very good to watch.
Great sportsmen, great racing, not always the case these days, Hizzy tragically lost way too early 😢
awesome video
Hislop race BSB with a RVF 750 prototype, (like that of Phillip McCallen at TT 93) which on theory, should have been superior at the YZF of Whitham. But the Castro Honda Team, put on an engine RC30 official HRC, but not powerful enough to the real RVF factory. A trick that cost him the Championship. It was Hizzy who found out !
Mega
懐かしいですなあ〜🥲
👏👏👏👏✌
👏👏👏👏👊✊
...and not a dangled leg in sight
Fast laps. As quick as BSB now.
