I remember when Chad was putting the floor in this car and Jim saying it was only going to be for out in his yard doing hot laps it has come so far since then he has saved this car's life
Since everything is upside down in Australia from Nova Scotia.......you are automatically now qualified for out back Australian welding. And New Zealand too.
Eventually the car will be finished, you'll drive it into town and people will stop and admire it . Very few of them will have any idea of the hundreds of hours doing this kind of repair. Good on yer Jim.
Jim, can you get a pair of cheap magnifying reader glasses where you are? I had them scattered all around my shop before cataract surgery. Another trick is to wear bifocals upside down. Old but still trying.
You mentioned in earlier videos you were worried about the undercoating catching fire; I'm glad to see it didnt come to be. Thank You for updating your progress on this Olds. She's gonna be a runner.
Jim it coming along quite nice 👍. That's the way I did it . when I was just doing my own pach . Slash restore. To were it looks good to me . And Jim you know people always have something to say in a POSITIVE way . And a few in a NEGATIVE way . But it's still are way. Because It's ours . And we are doing it. Right Buddy. Hope you and your mam are doing well . Your friend Motor Mike from Wisconsin .
I remember repairing people's cars this way in the 70's. Hot, hard work which can only be described as being like chasing cobwebs with a welding torch; no fun whatsoever. Good luck Jim👍
You are man of unlimited patience. The results you get are a testament to perseverance. Keep at it, it's coming along beautifully. Can't wait to see you tromp on the gas, its going to have quit the bark.
Going well, get yourself a Coarse Brush & a Tub of Bituminous Waterproofing Jim, give it all a good thick coat, inside the Trunk and the Floor as well.
dear Jim. Bad Chad needs your help i'm sure you can help him with putting up a Tina on that car I thought he would know better just from knowing you. Help a brother out Show him how to use a spong
That is amazing Jim! You certainly are making progress. Actually I was concerned that you may burn yourself under there. Glad it worked out. Big thumbs up! thanks for video. Appreciate the tips on torch welding.
I think they used magnesium for metal the floor in my old couple welds weird to,the metal just wants to melt takes a long time spot welding with a mig.👍I'm an old timer to it's not easy work especially using a torch!
Looking really good Jimbo, one more side to do after this! You will be able to be really proud of the car and your work when you are all done. You have come such along way with the Olds this winter and spring. I can't wait to see you get it on the road this summer.
Jimbo when your in the well could ya fetch some water ? Noo just having fun jimbo your doing a great job there ! In a hard spot ? Yesterday you were on your back welding upside down how do you do it ? I'm not able to do that anymore lol . Keep up the content on your channel j8mbo Thumbs-up your doing fine !
New subscriber here. Enjying your videos and work. Iam interested in your welding set up. Could you do a video on set up and welding so forth please. ?
would of been easier to turn that car upside down for the work you have had to do under there jim .yours arms will either fall off or end up looking like popeye haha going great .
At least on those patches your not having to distort your body into a thousand positions to get the work done. You must be stoked about that Job's coming along well Jimbo. looks good. btw Jimbo a lot of times if you have a lousy cheap mig welder that could very well be the reason you have had trouble catching on to welding mig. When it comes to welding mig a good welder makes a massive difference it your ability of picking it up and doing well with it.
He turned that car into an abortion was a nice original car just should have got it running and did the mechanics to it enjoyed it for what it was that's one car that just should have been left alone you should spend this time finishing his other projects especially his girlfriend's Bugatti seems like she doesn't give a s*** about it anymore she's driving around in a new suburban
@@Lucky-ou4vz chad went as far as he could on the bugatti, he better get someone who knows what their doing.. agree, he should of left it alone body wise
@@ashpnk06p60 yeah I would have got somebody along time ago if that was my situation Doug definitely overcharge them for that engine but it actually sounded good when they originally started it up when he delivered it , the drivetrain and chassis gets built first then you build the body around that he went about it backwards and the sides of the engine compartment should have been made removable for access to the engine probably should have found the exact same engine that he bought from Doug that fit in the car to be honest with you at this point who cares the whole situation gives me a especially what he did to that Hudson
Just finished my wheel wheels, I think they are super thin because of the stretch in the stamping, I migged a mile off course at times, lowest settings help
Don't get to excited about going to MIG welding. I have been an oxy/acte welder all my long life and I am doing my first job with a MIG. It has been one big disaster.

Jim, you’re pretty handy with that torch. I’m a welder myself but have never done torch welding. That’s old school. 👌
Going well, get yourself a Coarse Brush & a Tub of Bituminous Waterproofing Jim, give it all a good thick coat, inside the Trunk and the Floor as well.
Seen you with Bad Chad, so came to visit.
You certainly like a challenge Jim......😂😂
Jim, your a very very good torch welder....amazing work....keep on being busy and it'll be done before you know it!!!!👍👍👍👍
Almost there Jim - keep it going, your Olds is going to be great to see going down the highway

Looking good Jimbo, you are getting on top of that Detroit rust now!😉
Looking tidy Jim, nice job. Once the bitumen paint does its job it'll be practically unnoticeable. 👍 Nice one man.
This brings back memories of the floor in my old dodge van.
I enjoy watching you work. I shared your video so others can check it out.
I think the more difficult a repair is, the better you like it!
That inner fender was not fun… good to have that job behind you.
Wow Jimbo your cooking with gas, literally.😁 Awesome man! 😉✌
That'sa lot of over head welding Jim ,that's awesome man 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

Great work jim. Can wait to see it going down the road.
Looking good jimbo
You are some welder!!!
Keep up the good work.
Looks good Jim
Great effort there Jim, filming and welding in that confined space. You sure there's not a complete film crew and set behind that camera😆
Hello Jim, it is looking good.
Likely higher carbon steel for toughness in the day
Great work Jim you are a insanely talented man
Nice job, Jimbo.

Wow awesome WORK JIMBO
Doing it the hard way with good results as that is about the most difficult place to be trying to gas weld anything.

Hi I did video back a bit ago , torch talk, I think it was called
Excellent repair...Enjoy watching and learning. Thanks, Jim. Take care.
I love your torch welding skills…
Nice job Jim making it look so easy
Nice one Jim👏👏👏🤠🇬🇧
Jim love it can.t wait untill your driven it!!!
Well it is holding the car together better now, that’s what counts
I know you like using the torch, but I would say maybe ask Chad to let you use a mig welder to make it easier doing those inner fenders.
I am impressed Jim, thank you for sharing
I guess the good thing about this repair it doesn't need to be prettied up
would of been easier to turn that car upside down for the work you have had to do under there jim .yours arms will either fall off or end up looking like popeye haha going great .

Flux core wire is the worst
Stick to what your good at/with
I think you would pick up Tig welding pretty quick
good job keep it going
Go rocket man looking good 👍
I think you would like a Tig welder
Looking good.
Awesome job!!!
Dang son, looks factory to me!
Jim , you need to get over to Chad's and fix the mess he made of the Hudson 😢 Great job there and can't wait to see your car on the road.

Keep your hands warm?
Well done Jim, looking good! Hey Jim, will you use a flapper wheel on the welds before undercoat or rockguard?
Love the torch welding
Just finished my wheel wheels, I think they are super thin because of the stretch in the stamping, I migged a mile off course at times, lowest settings help
MIG welding might not be for you Jimbo, but I think you would take to TIG welding like a duck to water.
Looking good
Like Like Like Jim I'm a fan
Mig needs to be run super hot to be flat, you can run about 3/4 power and give it heaps if the metal is clean and not thin
Nice job in hard to get at place. Are the welding rods steel?
Yes
Good job👍👍
Awesome

Oooo that's what I remember too
It’s coming around .
Slowly but surely ... !
👍
